That's not a fair comparison, G1 Megatron and Armada Megatron obviously have a distinctively different color scheme that makes the repaint worthwhile. In comparison, repainting G1 Convoy into Star Convoy is literally the same as repainting a red and blue figure into another red and blue figure. There's just no point in recoloring him because the predominant difference between the two is in the shape and robot design instead of the colors, which means there's hardly anything a repaint could add to make him look anything like SC. Not even a remold would work since the new Prime obviously doesn't have the same tall stature.

each generations subline has gotten six waves, though sometimes the last one is just repacks like TR Voy W6 or CW Deluxe W6. There's also the possibility of getting 4 or 5 boxsets which can have 5 or 6 figures each. That gives plenty of time to add in limbs for at least one or two new combiner teams.

That said, I think the Starscream Liozack will be a Takara exclusive bundle with the CW Liokaiser limbs since Hasbro already ran on that money train. We know that we're getting fembot limbs for Elita, so that means we might just get Pirahna con at standard retail if >>6522754 isn't memeing. Otherwise, we only have the rough approximation for the first 3 PotP waves, so anything could happen at this point.

Not sure if I should buy Optimus or Grimlock when POTP comes around.
I like the character of Grimlock slightly more but the robot mode for him kind of looks like ass, though the Dino mode isn't terrible. Prime's robot mode on the other hand looks great and the truck mode could be a lot worse.

I might just get Slash to satisfy my Dinobot needs. I already have TM Clobber on the way, and Grimlocks best design aspect has always been his helmet.

I mean, let's look at the context and the options available.

The context is, these are Transformers. They're not just robots, nor just vehicles/alt-modes. Therefore, sacrifices will have to be made purely from a "laws of physics" and economic standpoint. If someone with "standards" can't accept that a Transformer probably won't be a perfect representation of a robot and its alt-mode, especially for the price they're paying, then the options are thus:

a) They're highly self-entitled and delusional. to the point of not being able to accept reality.
b) They're "autistic". Or you know, just plain dumb to the point of being mentally retarded.
c) They're acting dumb because they think it makes them seem "cool" to be arbitrarily critical.

These are not insults or criticisms aimed at you. This kind of attitude is present in all walks of life, not just among toy collectors. It's like someone who wants to buy a brand new luxury car but doesn't want to fork out the cash, yet is unwilling to either take an older or less high-end model. This person has "good tastes"and "high standards", but unless he accepts reality and makes sacrifices/compromises, he'll probably end up not getting anything.

Err, sorry about the soap boxing.But tl;dr, people who bitch about an otherwise serviceable alt-mode, such as a car mode, because they can see robot bits in the undercarriage, are DUMB.

And while a lot of people are turned off by the fact that he looks like a gundam (he is designed by the same guy who designed gundams) it really does come to the fact that he was made specifically for the Japanese audience and has mostly kept to that for ~30 years.

Even if he were taller, there are upgrade kits to make CW Megatron taller than MP Optimus. At this point we have no comparison pics to go off of though, so he may size up perfect.

Most likely it'll be very similar to optimus, with the bulk of him being hidden inside the other form.
Another possibility is that he'll essentially turn inside out to make the optimal parts
Like, his chest flips around, his back flips around, and the rest of him slides into optimal parts.

That being said, we saw four fairly different leader molds in tr (seperating bots, cassette holding bots, pmop, and a sixchanger) so there's no guarantee he'll work anything like the others.
He might be small, even for a deluxe, so he can fold up and be completely hidden by the optimal form.
