It's literally the same TFW2005 kiddies that found out about 4chinz and come here to try and be edgy. You'll notice the unique poster number refuses to raise as the first few posts of the same kind are made.
Ignore them and have fun.
I am hyped, really tricky seeing all the dinobots though. I'm probably only going to be able to afford one combiner team, and I want Abominus. But I'm ready for Rodimus and Optimus, the Dreadwing twins, and the prime masters.
So far I'm getting like 80% of what we 've seen, even Orion looks unique enough to get him, the gen and TR versions are IWD Orion, not cartoon Orion.
I'm excited, but I've seen a lot of shit as well.
Rodimus Prime is a big brick. Starscream looks like a Playskool toy. Swoop is a brick. Liege Maximo doesn't look a thing like the character, and plugs into a big brick.
And the recent lack of QC has me concerned about the ones I'm excited for.
I wanted nothing more than to buy Dragonstorm. Shit looked awesome. Then it turned out to be incredibly easy to break.
I wonder if this means we have some sort of chance of getting Star Saber
but really though who am I kidding
I hope he scales nicely with this guy
Who wants some Arcee head action? just 80 burguers bois.
>orion that no one cares about has painted blue fists
>combined optimus prime mode that is the main event has disgusting unpainted grey fists
its like there's no fucking justice in this world
>gcreation and toyworld do combining dinobots
>hasbro does combining dinobots
>fansproject does new female raptor dinobot
>hasbro does new female raptor dinobot
Because those are final retail versions right?
It's only 9/8 for 5 more Rhode Island hours fuckers. Where are my Terrorcons!?!
>>unnecessary combiner gimmick
barely affect's the toy's look unlike headmasters where it gave them all shitty block heads. I wouldn't even know they combine by looking at them unless someone told me.
>>covered in stickers
don't be a poorfag and buy the inevitable superior takara release
>>panders to the 80s crowd even though they're all ready to go into nursing homes
still better than the shitty TRON line FOC aesthetic with the crappy hollow dinosaur mode
Someone needs to make G1 screenshot edits like this except with Slash.
>panders to the 80s crowd even though they're all ready to go into nursing homes
1) how fucking young are you that you equate 30 year olds with retirees
2) did you forget that plenty of 90s kids grew up with the g2 rereleases? The cartoon was on tv, toys were in the store, and those kids are 25-30 now
>If they really tried to compete with 3P
Yeah, they're not. They're trying as hard as they can to pander to manchildren, but not at the expense of having toys that are both affrdable to parents and easy to transform for said parent's retarded children.
>A non transforming Predaking that looks just like this.
Seriously, surprised none of the non Hasbro/Takara but still official companies haven't done this.
Yup, I did it, also Skyreign.
The evolution gimmick in the leader class toys is cool. When I was a kid I liked that kind of shit.
The TR gimmick is the worst of the three.
>haha! partsforming cube heads that turn into dinky unpainted robots so you can headswap them to make an uglier mismatched robot! xD
When I was a kid I would've loved to make my own OC Transformers character.
It's a shame we didn't get more heads that worked well in different bodies. A lot of them only really match the toy they come with.
They are all great, especially POTP's evolution thing. I would've loved all of those as a kid, maybe have some mixed feelings about the evolution because Optimus wasn't ever the leader of my robot guys.
The new pretenders are kind of shit, though.
>How hard is it to make a beast mode that looks like the animal it's meant to be?
Hard when you've gotta make a toy for retarded children within a certain price point demanded by your corporate overlord or else they won't carry your shit and cause you to go bankrupt because they're the biggest game in town, AND make it a combiner leg/arm to boot.
Anyone ever noticed how Prowl II's head (the black one) looks a hell of a lot like Barricade?
Botmode, deleted the previous to better match the low quality.
Thanks man, also fixed the eyes on beastmode.
Link to Hascon panel for anyone who missed it today:
From the panel-
>Warden suggests there could be varients of the Dinobots, teasing the cartoon version of Swoop, and perhaps others in a question about G2 versions.
>Takara designed the new Optimus Prime, Hasbro just said he had to go from Orion Pax to Optimus.
>Hasbro comes up with ideas and designs, then mainly farms things out to Takara to make the engineering work.
It's a really fucking cool gimmick, it just seems jankily executed on Prime. Looking forward to some of the later figs where it's refined a bit, also somewhat interested in Hot Rod.
>"Awesome transformation, awesome designs, awesome, Awesome, AWESOME"
For fuck's sake man, learn some more adjectives...
I'm not saying he doesn't draw pelvic thrusting robots, just that it's not exclusively his thing.
Not to discount Obari, of course.
He always kinda looked like that on the cartoon
>It's another "leader class toy without hip rotation for no reason" episode
I hate this overused plot
For real though, Orion looks pretty neat. I'm one of those "MP10 is the only Optimus I'll ever need" faggots and I'm feeling a little tempted here. I'll get a lot of time to think about it before Takara makes their stickerless version, I guess.
It's supposed to be hollow for the matrix to fit you retard.
You haven't even handled the toy yet, let alone seen it in person. From my experience with FOC Grimlock, it's just literal dog shit. The plastic they used on him felt so fucking cheap and brittle and the dino mode was laughably bad. Any grimlock that doesn't have a fuckin beaver tail is better than the FOC one.
>I'll get a lot of time to think about it before Takara makes their stickerless version, I guess.
Takara will probably give us blue fists for the super mode as well. I wonder if they'll also try to make it so the side arm panels will be red as well?
I'm also slightly hyped that this will probably mean that the Legends manga will finally have Convoy/ Optimus meet Ginrai.
Every other dino looks good but Grimlock is looking like a major pass. The chest is way too wide in robot mode and the dinomode has ridiculously wide hips because of it, and the tail (which people seem to be conveniently avoiding in photos) looks really bad. And the torso mode is gonna be Motormaster-tier.
Maybe I should just invest in fantoys Dinobots already.
>I wonder if they'll also try to make it so the side arm panels will be red as well?
It looks like most of the grey panels on him make up the exterior of the trailer so they couldn't be red without looking weird in vehicle mode. They might try to paint up some grey bits but I imagine not much can be done.
Grimlocks seems to be a Motormaster tier torso, I wonder how much remolding will takara do for Dinoking, the bots would look wierd if they mold organic skin for the dinomodes.
Did hasbro say what other retailers the Arcee set will be sold at?
>and the tail (which people seem to be conveniently avoiding in photos)
it doesn't look that bad.
Agreed. New takes on the series are far more appealing than constant 80s homages.
I mean, take Optimus. After the movie, Japan created a new leader and a new villain for every series. Rodims. Ginrai. Star Saber. Dai Atlas. Leo Conoy. Big Convoy. Fire Convoy.
Whereas America's kept coming back to Optimus Prime and Megatron time and time again. It gets boring.
And now our toys even look like they're from the 80s again.
Do you like to combine your decepticons and Autobots or have them as enemies?
This. Of all the things TF fans can cling to, they choose G1 and BW? The objectively poorest animated interpretations of the characters?
>Could have a good looking Alpha Trion
>fuck you have a totally "fresh" interpretation and concept and now he's an ugly homosexual lion with shitty legs and Vector Prime's chest for no reason
>people are STILL getting excited for yet ANOTHER line of Gen 1
>the incredibly flawed, overated simplistic robot designs and robotic beast modes
I just don't fucking get it. You people have been getting G1 designs for 30 years. You get molds that are show accurate, you get molds and color schemes that are meant to be like G1. You've been having this awful nonsense for 30 years, and you still flock to it.
I just don't understand.
I know it likely won't happen, but a heavy retool of Prime into Motormaster would be amazing.
I don't know either.
It's always about the blocky old-style robot designs these days. Everything has edges and is squared, nothing is smooth anymore.
I fear the day Warden decides Beast Wars is the cool new thing, because we might get designs like this-most likely even worse.
I only like gimmicky shit like combiners and headmasters desu kara.
Some of the blocky designs are more convenient for toys and characters but most of the movie lines and kiddy shit is more interesting and better designed than CHUG stuff. Just looking at the dinobots helped me regain sanity, though, to think I was going to buy robots that have criminally stupid kibble like the dinobots do.
All of these new POTP figures makes me hard. I know you have to save money on these but there were so many I had to list what i'm looking forward to. Probably MP-Soundwave for example
>blocky old-style robot designs these days
A cylindrical TF like Getter would be sick.
That or give me more Gattai bots like Sky shadow who combine from 2 or more vehicles rather than other TFs
>third party company makes one with an ab crunch and butterfly joints
>it's the size of a literal car like that cybertron starscream
>cancelled because not many people are willing to buy new real estate for a toy
I'd say that's the biggest omission, but ideally I would like a ball joint on the head, wrist swivels, maybe ab crunch and waist swivel, ankle tilt, and toe curl upwards.
The likelihood of a mainline toy meeting those standards these days though...pretty slim.
I bet people would buy that no problem.
You REALLY have to fuck up to get people to not want an Optimus. Cybertron Starscream was almost cancelled because it's fucking Cybertron Stasrcream not just because its a Cybertron character, literally no one gives a shit about that.
I found Slugslinger, other than Arcee the only figure keeping me from having 100% completion at this point is Ramhorn.
Am I just going to have to face the reality of paying 20 dollars for a little titan master?
I have an option to get this new for $18
Should I go for it? Also I keep seeing versions with yellow cannons but it only shows the yellow on the artwork in pic related.
Anyone know anything about this?
I like the head, personally.
And the overall bot looks a hell of a lot more interesting than the POTP Dinobots on their own, at least.
>its another 80s-inspired brick
>You people have been getting G1 designs for 30 years.
Not really, reedun is not G1, despite many, even Hasbro themseleves, broadly stretching the definition.
>You get molds that are show accurate
Very, VERY, rarely. MPs try, and especially lately are striving for it, but more often we get merely attempts at looking G1, and even then, vaguely.
Takara wins again.
But Swoop isn't a brick either.
This is a brick.
Uhhh is it me or does Orion Pax actually look kind of tall? They say he's a deluxe but he almost looks voyager height.
Overload is literally nothing but meme gimmick compromise you retard.
>electronic sound box
>headmaster is also a targetmaster
>only functional joints are the shoulders
Man, I'd be really angry about TR Hot Rod if it wasn't that I'm thinking of making this.
Though it'd be great if I had the skill to turn the trailer into Big Lander; the combination is really close to Land Bison.
I think I'm angry actually. Nice one, Warden.
I just want a Brave revival.
Never got FortMax. How tall is that Optimus?
Post your reactions to the Dinobots. Can't wait to buy'em all.
>legends is infallible
>when they did THAT brainstorm
I wish I could go and scold the character designer and the sculpter for that like they peed on the rug or something. What a fuckin ugly robot.
Goddamnit, that guy look great on just about every aspect besides the fucking head. What the hell is it that looks so uncanny about it? Maybe it's the fact that the entire thing is practically inside the dino head?
Couldn't be more perfectly between deluxe and voyager
It looks like an autistic kid with handsome features wearing a head brace, and is always squinting.
And not just because I like using buzzwords but because the shit color they used looks like a skin tone when put on a humanoid face.
This. I was really excited to see Ptera's head was such a dead-ringer for Swoop... but he looks awful on my TR Hot Rod, even though the head itself is so well-designed. Silver face, glossy-black helmet... A real shame.
POTP Rodimus intrigues me, seeing as I love Rodimus, but the design of the toy turns me off. It's so... blocky. Animated Rodimus was sleek and sexy and had great engineering (for Animated)--even the megawide chest didn't look too bad. TR Hot Rod has gorilla arms and a tiny Titanmaster Head, and it *still* looks great, too. POTP Hot Rod's evolution gimmick sounds awesome, and I love that it's a mainline toy with a Matrix and not an expensive MP toy or a third-party thing... but maybe it's just the CG rendering, it looks ugly. The shoulders' connection to the chest is too visible and weird, IMO, and the chest is so blocky to accomodate the Matrix gimmick.
I WANT to love it, it's Hot Rod evolving into Rodimus Prime and he has the winnebago and a Matrix--it's all I ever wanted. But... something feels off...
That fucking Jazz mold again, it already was awful back in 2007.
You have to admit there's a grain of truth there. Hasbro is Wal-Mart and TRU's whipping boy, adhering to strict price points and all that. Not to mention toys have to be "safe" or Mommy will sue Hasbro because Little Billy poked his eye out with a toy missile or with the non rubber nosecone of a toy jet.
>Never got FortMax. How tall is that Optimus?
>That means he doesn't own MP Star Saber either
>Brave fan that doesn't own the Brave Series number zero protagonist, Seigi no Yuusha Star Saber.
What are you doing anon? Buy it asap.
Another grain of truth is that we've seen Hasbro's design documents and while they don't work in the final steel molds they do have a fair amount of engineering planning and industrial design done, so saying it's ALL takara's doing is stupid, specially since we have seen what happens when a line is done 100% by Takara and it's far from infallible.
Is the shipping really that expensive? The box actually fitted the SAL small packet requirements when I ordered from Amiami back in the day. I have just checked Mandarake but seems like they only ship it via SAL Parcel or EMS.
>Warden suggests there could be varients of the Dinobots, teasing the cartoon version of Swoop
Wel duh they showed the blue chest version at their booth while the CGI version has the G1 toy colors
The predaking proportions look pretty damn solid.
Here's your new designs
I guess the Titanmaster pegs on the back are meant to homage the diaclone rider seats.
>people care about Unicron Trilogy
It's so terrible that japs pretty much aren't allowed to do the story or designs anymore, just the engineering.
This Prime is so shitty, and a clear example of the over designed generic anime look of the line. Characters often just had useless random shit hanging off them. Figures for some reason got shittier during this period.
>It's so terrible that japs pretty much aren't allowed to do the story or designs anymore, just the engineering.
Last time they tried it was a mess.
I wonder how hard it would be to make a Paddles add on.
Holy shit not even close you fucking pleb.
the front legs are on ball joints so those shouldn't be too hard to replace and the beast mode head is on a peg so you should be able to swivel that out and get a new one in but the rest depends on how the back legs and tail are connected.
The designs are fine. It's just that japs go too far into their philosophy of making toys to be toys rather than figures when unsupervised, they are autistic like that.
It's americans who impose fiction-accuracy and the action figure as the standard of what toys are supposed to be.
So what could the new movie the best shadowspark have over the current tlk takara prime?
Will the whole body just get a dark blue paint job, new accessories, or perhaps add more paint apps since its a little known fact that some areas from previous versions that got paint have been left bare, specifically the truckbed
Any more theories?
I'm...tempted to get it but need something to validate having 2 of the fuckers since its not a black edgy repaint
I was about to pull the trigger on Cailbur, but I'll wait and see how MB looks
>I'm...tempted to get it but need something to validate having 2 of the fuckers since its not a black edgy repaint
Put them around a round table in this pose
>g gundam design
You do realize gundam'smain asthetic was "real robot" with the coloring due to bandai's request to appeal to kids despite some of the themes?
G gundam was a break away we may never see (much of) in the future, can't discount due to build fighters but when people gundam and sentai they're in 2 different leagues
But how is he going to get his point across without the cherrypick of the one Gundam series that doesn't look like edgy sentai robots? :(
>What the fuck were they even thinking?
"Oh god Japanese kids don't like this American shit, the line is tanking, taking the line in a model kit direction didn't do shit, what the fuck do we do"
>using bootleg's to get your point across
To make matters worse, you used gundam wing, which was straddling the lines until they brought things around, next you'll use super fumina and try to pick on something using that.
I mother fucking dare you to pop THAT cherry, cherry picking faggot
And arguing with the minority of designs from a franchise that uses the vast majority more of the other?
Its like saying american is mostly muslim just because you're aware they exist.
Your argument from the very start was flawed the moment you used gundam, they're all fucking robots but calling them all the same?
Because that's exactly what you're doing, net time use an appropriate series, you have THOUSANDS to chose from, and you cherry pick 2 that only the western audience gave the slightest shit about (and g gundam was mostly a cult following).
Discussion is over, TLDR the minority DOES NOT cover the majority
I do have to agree hence why I'm sounding off
>And arguing with the minority of designs from a franchise that uses the vast majority more of the other?
I don't even know what you mean by this nonsense, but I'm assuming you're either foreign or autistic.
>Your argument from the very start was flawed the moment you used gundam, they're all fucking robots but calling them all the same?
Being so BTFO that you're whining the most popular versions in the US don't count.
>you have THOUSANDS to chose from, and you cherry pick 2 that only the western audience gave the slightest shit about (and g gundam was mostly a cult following).
Don't go all Chris-Chan on us now. I guess only the shows nobody cares about and didn't see a Toys R Us or Walmart eisle count?
>I do have to agree hence why I'm sounding off
That's why you chose to reply right?
>when your QC is SO SHIT that the display copy has two left hands
These things are literally dollar-store qualities now.
Chris go to bed. Doopie doesn't want you
I dunno, anon, I really don't know.
I suppose it's possible it's a mistransformation, but the elbows must be able to swing a full 180 degrees to do that. Which isn't unheard of, since the Offroad mold in CW could do that.
I'm gonna say it's almost for sure a case of misassembly though. Remember they took the figures right out of the packages, and they're packed in ROBOT MODE.
>Remember they took the figures right out of the packages, and they're packed in ROBOT MODE.
So I really don't like Doublecross, but I didn't think he'd have trouble selling. When I went out of town yesterday, I saw an entire peg of nothing but him, and like five of them. Is this normal? Is this a thing?
"You've got nothing to worry about."
My Asian shelves has wave 3 since April and after all the filtering it's mostly Twinfernos on the pegs too. The rescue bots twin dragon equivalent, Heatwave is also the shelf warmer. The RID ones are doing okay because they didn't bring in as many.
Do you guys think Slash will be repainted into BW Dinobot? Will BW Dinobot be a gurl then?
Probably around the time Optimus Primal releases. They said the leaks weren't every toy in every wave, so there could be some surprises like that.
I'm expecting some of the Predacons to get released as Magnaboss, too, if only as a SDCC exclusive or something. Silverbolt and Prowl seem pretty obvious, and Tantrum could be redecoed into Ironhide.
Which leaves Rampage as... I dunno. Tigatron? And Headstrong as Rhinox.
I could see Airrazor getting a Legends-class toy as well, just so they get six bots like Volcanicus.
Ah yes, I remember distinctly. His decision in "Code of Hero" between continuing to live as a man or becoming a woman was the highlight of Beast Wars. His suicide had nothing to do with it, that was just incidental because he was fucked up in the head.
TIL that Optimal Optimus, Transmetal II Megatron and Tigerhawk were all supposed to have robotic "spark pilots", which ended up being scrapped. It's cool that POTP Optimus Primal is actually gonna have that gimmick after all these years.
Tigerhawk and dragon Megs toys when?
I like to combine my transformers with human buddies. Dianauts work great for TR, and I use mega construx dudes with deluxe/scout/voyager sized robots cuz the scale is close to accurate
It certainly wins for Sixshot, but holy shit is Godbomber an unmitigated disaster. I know i'm late to the party, but i've finally opened and fiddled around with it. It's a floppy mess in every single mode with pieces that fall off if you just look at it wrong. Nothing tabs or clicks in with any sort of strength. The combined mode with Ginrai can't stand up on its own and is basically only good as a statue.
Normally i'm a huge Takaracuck, but there is nothing redeeming about this toy at all.
You're a massive faggot, anon. Why was defending your lack of knowledge on gundam shit so important to you? This isn't even a gunpla thread.
Like, really? You need internet approval that much? Do you not have friends? Did mommy not hug you enough?
The rest of us come here to talk about toys we like. Go fuck off with this vicious bullshit
Not that anon, but I definitely need a leader-sized Rodimus that's not an MP. Sure, it sort of sucks that he's so hollow and you can see his robot mode parts in vehicle mode, but after two decades of Hasbro effectively ignoring the character and/or making him tiny, I'll take what I can get.
Jesus Christ, you whiny little cunt. Wait for the oversized KO's and buy those ffs.
B-But anon, you guys are the one that wanted G1 pandering.
Oh man I forgot I can do this thing.
Well that was fun.
Man I forgot how homophobic the G2 comic series was.
Honestly the only use of translucent plastic I'm disliking so far on the Dinobots is Sludge's rear legs-- the original didn't actually have any transclucent there, and it just makes the modern one look like he has ghost legs.
Similarly, it doesn't really wow me on Snarl's front legs and stego head. It winds up just looking off.
I like him, but he's nothing special.
I never cared much for dragon megatron for some reason but I'd love a new Tigerhawk. The old toy has a lot of gimmicks, which is great, but it was a really awkward figure.
