I think, for certain, the only things on display are going to be Abominus and the Dinobot combiner. And based on what I know about Hasbro's combiners and the quality of their retail shit in general, and how dumpy everything we've seen from PotP looks already, I'm not too excited. I'm expecting some swirly gray, horrendously posed, mis-transformed travesties with ugly-ass stickers that will require 75 dollars worth of add-ons to even look decent.

We saw low ass quality photos of whats coming, some using old toys or art as placeholders, we haven't seen the toys yet, they will reveal the physical toys, not just the list of characters.

I think it'll be the opposite. I'm certain that everything from the leak will be revealed, with a couple silhouette teasers like Overlord last year at the least.

Remember, this is the first Hascon. Hasbro is charging a hell of a lot of money for tickets to a first time convention, so they have to ensure people are getting the most bang for their bucks as they can. After the anemic showing at Comic-con this year, I can't see why they'd keep holding back when they need to go all out.

Galvatron is probably the best case against my statement but I'd argue that it's not the fault of the headmaster that they designed a mask in the most retarded way possible on Galvatron. Every other voyager and leader has a similar feature to that mask and they all worked fine.

Even if you don't like them you could leave them down on the voyagers without really losing out on anything aesthetically. Galvatron is the only one where the mask actually fucks up the toy with no workaround.

Solid windows look a little ugly but reduce parts count which then can go to making parts that are actually important rather than making the back out of twenty fucking pieces just to accomodate the transparent plastic and don't risk using shitty plastic that will start to crack after one transformation.

Slender, sharp designs are what's always turned me off of Bayformers or the Animated or Prime transformers. Like, it just never looks right to me in their source medium, let alone in the toys.

What I like about the blocky G1 types is that they frequently have a very clear 1:1 relationship with their alt mode. Maybe it looks silly sometimes but you can clearly distinguish what they turn into from their robot form. I really like that.

Those molds are 10-20 years old, as much as I love vintage Beasties it's fair to say a lot of them are not exactly aged to the standards of modern figures. Some still look great but the vast majority have that early 90s skinny shellformer look to them that really isn't entirely compatible with modern CHUG.

While subjective each of the leader movie primes has a distinctive charm to them, the first while nothing like the cg model was just a nice chunky toy that was great to work with, kids and adults alike.

The rotf version and retools (such as the mb11 and this new one) had what many considered masterpiece qualities to them including looks and transformation complexity, its also because of this mold people called for designers to dumb down transformations because they were too complex, I personally found it acceptable as I transformed him blind though being an mp collector he wasn't a big deal at all, before the mpm04 came he was the best movie prime, and that has people divided due to the cost cutting involved in its deco.

And we all know about the newer age of extinction prime based molds being simplified shellformers, only a static action igure could capture that design accurately

So, I was guessing you may have gotten it confused with the original movie prime (which had rubber tires, not even the m,pm04 has that) its not a bad mold by any means, I would however be cautious.

Compare mb11/one of the asia leader premium redeco's (those have chrome, actual plated chrome) to the mpm04 (specifically the takara version, just need to wait a few more days) and decide, I love the proportions of the mpm04 the deco on my mb11 is beating the hasbro mpm04 and maybe the takara release.

TLDR not a bad mold just old, but compare it with the mpm04, as either (or both if you're like me) are worth consideration

It's a clusterfuck, but as far as clusterfucks go it's pretty nice. TFs come in so many sizes and colors having more than a few displayed is always going to look a bit messy. So good job.

This is exactly what I love about transformers. You can see the grill of a car on a robot and your (or at least my) brain just wants to see how it all folds together into a car. It's also just cool to see parts repurposed. The engineering and how everything is gonna satisfyingly nest together is evident in the robot
