So, did you come up with your own OC?
TR makes it easy to customize your own transformers.
Post here what you have, ideas, profiles, etc.
We all hate mary sues so I'm curious what we can come up with

Man, that fact that TR Fort Max didn't have this tight of a city mode is a criminal offense. So good.
>>
>>6516143
Yeah tr fm fucking sucks.
>>
>>6516143
That's why I never bothered with the new one, that city mode was atrocious compared to a 30 years old toy.
>>
Okay, why the hate on TR fortmax?
I only have metroplex and he's a good toy. Knees are too soft though.

Fortmax is a metroplex retool. Is this where the hate is coming from?
>>
>>6516154
>metroplex retool.

Basically yes.
>>
>>6516154
Have you even read what the other anons said? They don't like the city mode, as simple as that. And for good reason, it looks pretty bad.
>>
>>6516154
I really like Metro. And like Fort Max ok, but that's just it. He's a retooled metroplex and doesn't really even do that as well. The small ramps, the lack of folding legs, etc. He looks pretty sweet in botmode though. Plus, I only paid $40 for him so there's that. I'm just saying that the city mode on the G1 is amazing and I wish they'd have tried harder on recreating that.

Buy the improved bootleg Barricade instead when it comes out. It won't be released in toy stores obviously so you'll pay the same as everyone else, and it looks quite a bit better than the original release.

That said, I do own the original, and yeah, it has problems, but it's still my favorite movieverse bot in ages. It's just so oddly charming.

so how would you design a gimmick based Generations styled line.

I had the idea of making it be based on the Triggerbot/con gimmick for the deluxe figures, scouts would be micromaster bases and both leader/voyagers are weapon platformers.

>>6516338
That sounds exactly like TF Zone.

I'd like a Human alliance-Titanmaster hybrid, pretty much Mask with transformers, the pilots would be optional to unlock hidden weapons/wings/light upgimmicks in bot or altmode, they wouldn't be headmasters or targetmasters, just detailed minifigs, make them GI Joes just in titanmaster scale.

>>
>>6516338
triggercons/throttlebots and other push-button action bots would be fun, but the price point would go up.
>>
>>6516352

I was thinking of the weapon platforms be more based on toys like Pyro and Clench or Ratchet/Ironhide where the vehicle kibble is a weapon platform and you have the robot modes that are scaled as Voyagers (leader scaled) and Voyagers are the same but deluxe sized (example Iron Fist for example)
>>
>>6516154
So many issues:

-Being a retool meant that many things the original FM had were nixed, like the pop up guns in the arms. It also made people compare him to Metro, who was cheaper, and had better transformations, and a Handheld weapon.
-Lacks all the handheld weapons
-No Cog
-Extremely terrible City transformation. Metroplex was also downgraded but FM took it to a whole new level of laziness.
-Cerebros was too large, he should have been smaller since his head looks too large on the FM body. (nixing the sound/lights feature would have made this possible).
-The Head attachment for FM is really bad, I'm not sure it would last very long.
-Hasbro release has a rather bland color scheme compared to the toy's original colors (I don't think Takara's are that much better, since they ignored the new details on the face and just painted it like normal)

No riffle, twin gun
No forearm and hand hidden guns
No waist iconic canons
Short ramps

Short tower and overall underwhelming city mode without elevtor, ramps gimmick or garages.

The thing with FM is, why the fuck did they retool him? Did they have to? The constructicons weren't going be retooled into anything, and I'm damn sure neither will Trypticon.

If they had to reuse anything, they should have used the internal parts, maybe screws, the knee covers, and maybe the hands. Everything else should have been new.

If they wanted reuse out of Metro, they should have released him again as Metrotitan or any one of the many dudes that share his body type.

I guarantee you Galaxy Meteor is some owner's favorite over at Maketoys and that's literally the only reason anyone was able to be convinced to make it. If they had at least done a Cybertron Optimus or Galvatron first then you'd at least have a nice set started to add a Starscream to, but no.

The proportions are pretty much exactly the same though. Like you said, it's "90% the same bot."

As I see it, all that's new are some new vehicle mode details, much better feet/calves, chest can now flip so it's not just the car grille and it appears to sit higher, new joints in the door wings, that doohickey on his right forearm, and the entire car roof on the back of the original can now fold up into a rather tidy backpack. It's not a huge laundry list of changes, and most of these things don't affect his silhouette much at all. I mean, aside from the back-roof thing, which I think we can all agree is a huge improvement.

>>6517054
Scorponok out of trypticon would be nearly impossible
His legs would need complete replacing, his torso would need to be completely remolded so it doesn't splay open, he'd need completely new arms AND shoulder joints, and obviously the head. The tail wouldn't even work because it would need to bend way more to get up in robot mode, and it'd need a point
Omega supreme is much more likely, as they're not going to make a giant partsforming mess like the original, tryps legs open up similarly to omegas, most everything would be light tooling except for removing the tail. They'd use the plastic saved from that to make the missile parts, which would fit over tryps nubby hands.
It's possible theyd make his head/chest removable so it can turn into a tank, but i think you'll just get a full tilt retool
>>

They were either the absolute smallest in their size class, being smaller than perceptor, Prime's cab, inferno and the like, or they were the biggest in their size class, being bigger than most autobot cars.

They just released voyager rotf megs a couple months ago, so i doubt it'll be that movie at all.
Jetfires pricepoint of 10k suggests the megs will be a voyager, not a leader. The fact that the tf5 ones are all lumped at the end safely rules that film out.
So it's either dotm or the first one, and since the first one is covered in ice, I'm going with dotm
Dotm is very underrepresented in the movie the best line anyway

I got Menasor and Bruticus. The Menasor set was great but Bruticus was fucking awful. He had next to no paint outside of the camo so there was nothing to make any of the sculpted details pop, the plastic used for Onslaught was garbage and resulted in everything being loose and floppy, and to add insult to injury, they assembled my copy incorrectly with the black pieces in Onslaught's knees being put in BACKWARDS. I didn't notice it at first and tried to get his knees to lock in bot mode so the bumps on the black pieces wound up pressing into the plastic and left these huge stress marks on his knees and stated to split the legs apart. I was eventually able to get it all apart and put the black pieces in correctly but Hasbro didn't make it easy with how many places they used pins pins had to be removed to get the legs apart, especially when one of them was covered in one end. The few screws they did use were also all stripped and almost impossible to get out without just drilling and replacing them.

Suffice it to say, I was pissed. I love G2 Bruticus and his gaudy color scheme but the CW set was such a cheap piece of shit, even by CW's already low standards.

You do realize the 90% of work Hasbro does is cost cutting and regulation right? They have price points to meet and safety codes to follow to be able to do business with major market chains outside Japan.

Really it's more that Hasbro and Takara designers work out designs together, then Takara does the sculpt while Hasbro maps out material costs, then they meet somewhere in between their needs. Takara designers have regularly said they hate how restrictive Hasbro is on their designs to meet profit margins, so it's not accurate to say it's a majority of Hasbro's effort.

way I see it everyone on that poll will probably get a figure eventually, the poll merely effects priority of release(and for some characters whether they'll get a new mold of their own or will just be a remold/repaint of someone else)

The Cheetos mold was ideal for half-assed big cat repaints, they could've easily shit out a couple more Wolfgang repaints, and give Cybershark a new head lollipop and new robot head to get another shark.
Beast Wars was one of the few times I wished Kenner was lazier, but they never were.

I'm not sure if I should nickname this guy "MP Stickerchest" or "MP Fingerprints" but either way G2 Sideswipe is neat. I'm really glad the G2 Autobot sticker is clearbacked rather than colorbacked because takara's colorback stickers (like Shockwave or Ratchet) simply don't match the paint at all and looked terrible.

I think the sticker glue has gone a little weak though since this G2 logo is slightly bumpy around the edges,

And seriously the piano black paint is nice as fuck but he turns into a poseable fingerprint record after five minutes of playing with him. I'll guess think of him as a reminder to wash my hands

I love that Sideswipe but he feels out of place with his mean ass mug.

It was a magical time for the MP line. I wondered just what other interesting variants and corners of the franchise we would get to see turned into high end toys, after G2 Sideswipe was announced. Sadly, they've pretty much completely dropped any pretense of doing more comic styles characters. I wonder if they sold that poorly. I know a lot of people were triggered by Sideswipe's awesome face and Grimlock's dark blue bits.
>>
>>6518160
I would kill for an updated G2 hero optimus. Only laser prime gets g2 love.
>>
>>6518265
Yeah I can't imagine the marvel comics being that popular in japan
>>
>>6518271
Wasn't baby angry prime an homage to combat hero Optimus? But yeah, weird they haven't done one yet, they could even repaint him as Nova Prime.

Welp. Looks like I have to go Bruticus then.

Sexy lambobots. I'm starting to get tempted by Clampdown and Tigertracks, but no one REALLY needs five lambobots.

For QC/Tolerance issues, the worst thing was I needed to tighten Alert's left elbow. The elbow joints on all of these guys are fairly weak but Alert's left arm could barely support itself, which sucks because getting the elbow apart scrapped off a little bit of red paint from his arm. All is well now though (in fact its kind of too tight). Also not the shoulder joint itself, but the part the shoulder is attached to on G2 Sideswipe's left side is kind of loose and if I bend the arm up in a cartain way it'll come untransformed. Not sure what the best way to tighten that would be

Hand/foot gun

It's the nickname people gave to the accessories usable as guns, combiner hands or combiner feet that's packed in with every combiner wars deluxe and combiner box set except for CW Computron, Victorion and LG Megatronia, which have single-purpose, dedicated hands and feet for their combined mode.

I was disappointed that g2 jazz homage was nothing like the g2 release

worth mentioning that they're coming back for POTP, with some modifications to be used as part of the new Prime Master gimmick(so in addition to their previous uses they can also be used as a sort of armor)
>>

Don't the voyagers also come with some sort of armor?

Nigga, she and Tracks are literally the least luxurious cars in all of Masterpiece, even a Beetle in decent condition is probably worth more than the average Corvette C3 in the States.

Looks like it. There's speculation that it's a modified version of the Computron feet to fit prime masters and have a more stable combined mode.

C3's are actually quite cushy. Good visibility, strong brakes and power steering, smooth shifting, soft suspension and the seats are pretty comfy as opposed to sports car seats that try to hold you in place. At that time, Corvettes had been hit pretty hard by emissions restrictions and they weren't putting out much power, and they were becoming more widely popular, so Chevy started making them more accommodating instead of being full-on sports coupes. Compared to the other MP cars, like the Coutach or the Stratos which are absolutely miserable to drive, it's quite luxurious. Beetles are in the middle. They're easy to drive, but the suspension and interior comfort are trash. Used Beetles are nowhere near as coveted as C3s on the American market. They're cute, but still regarded as cheap and uncomfortable.

It's kind of hilarious to hear you neckbeards talking like you know something about cars because your toy robots transform into them.
>>
>>6518591
>mass manufactured
Also not true. Corvettes have always been, and still are, built by hand in a single, dedicated factory.

I'd say you don't need either. G2 Swipe is the best repaint, easily, and since you've already got Red Alert, you don't really need Clampdown, although I'd say he's better than Red Alert in his usage of color and deco. Although geewunners will be triggered because he wasn't in their cartoon.
>>
>>6518275
I wouldn't have imagined that a shitty '80s American cartoon would be that popular in Japan, but here we are.
>>
>>6518717
It had the animation done by Japanese people and was about Japanese toys.

>>
>>6518718
>It had the animation done by Japanese people
They were mostly Korean. And it's not like that actually means anything to the viewers.
>was about Japanese toys
Technically correct, I guess. I feel it would be like if Americans had grown to love Ninja Turtles toys, but then the actual show was imported from Europe and was about masked aliens from another planet who worked openly with the police to stop criminals.
>>
>>6518730
Diaclone didn't have much in the way of fiction.
>>
>>6518730
Actually G1 was animated by Toei (Japanese studio) for 68 episodes while AKOM (Korean studio) only worked on 20. Of those 20, 15 of them weren't done until Transformers 2010 (long after the original series was popular), and the last three never even got to Japan until the mid 90s.
