These little shits on the pic, I don't care that EX God Ginrai will be cheaper than buying both Super Ginrai and Godbomber, I don't care that they anounced it in the same day I got Godbomber, but why the fuck are the jr Headmasters exclusive to the bundle?

Check ebay for combiner groups, some people sell those for way cheaper than individually, or just get one of the G2 sets, some of them are still cheap around the net. You could get the G2 Menasor set, since you'll probably never use Motormaster as a torso anyway.

I am recently getting back into Transformers

I'm most friendly with Beast Wars and the Armada trilogy, and I've been trying to recollect the old toys I remember having from back then.

Recently found one of my all time favorites, the TF Universe line Reptilion.

Goddamn, what a paint scheme and the figure itself is great (or what I can remember anyway) I also remember having Snarl and Terrorsaur.

Can any of you guys recc me some more really cool and detailed Beast Modeformers?

I went to target earlier today and the toys they have now seem way too simple, with very blocky designs and small color palettes. And what is a "Titans Returns"? I prefer the more complicated designs.
>>
>>6509006
Well, he uses the Optimus mold, so he was bound to be good. That mold also doesn't suffer from floppy legs like Astrotrain.

They didn't even have RID figures, I guess I missed their fucking clearance sale

Now the only TRUs remotely close are either in a quiet strip mall where there's nothing else worth visiting, and a depressing regular mall with a Wally World, but with dwindling/downsized TF aisles when I checked a few months ago. I got coupons man, I have to buy retail to save my colourful plastic maplebucks

>>6509049
Fuck man, my largest figures are Sentinel and A3, and I bought them only for their altmodes. Saw some used RiD Megatrons at TFcon but the chrome was scratched and might have had missing parts. An in-box white one was over $100 though.
PotP will yield loadsa cheap but good figures hopefully. Might cave and order that $7 Swerve I saw listed a while back
>>

Titan class Sky Garry or MP Deathsaurus, whatever comes first.

>>6509086

>>6509175

But the Headmasters are characters in themselves, more in TR than before since they bestow strange and unearthly powers on their partner...

Does anyone else like that aspect? I feel it was underused. Of course, some of the Titan Master powers were goofy as shit, and there was a range of powers they never did use, like psychic abilities.

I would have expected Japan to come out with a female one with super-seduction powers, like Megatronia. Ah, well.

I suspect his point is that this notion of current TFs being worse than they have been in the past is erroneous, and the use of images of non-recent figures that are regarded as terrible illustrates that bad figures are not a recent phenomenon. More than that, what is being regarded as "shitty" in todays figures may still be relatively better than what was "shitty" back then.

Florida central is a barren wasteland. All the Walmarts, TRUs, and Targets near me are still clogged with Slashes, Berserkers, Grimlocks, and wave 1&2 TR deluxes. Happy to, same goes for any other requests. It's just a little swivel joint, with pegs on the male (torso) part and holes in the female (hips) part. Not much motion but it's surprisingly useful for making their posture expressive (chest puffed out, slouching, hiding go take cover... see >>6510283 )

Tried Amazon and it gets way past the 80 dollars after shipping, Mandarake has the TR for 4500 korean scalps but it's sold out and the kill-yourself-forever-tier Legends for 3000, I don't trust BBTS but it's already more expensive than in most stores, and TFSource also goes past the 40 dollars.
Would it be possible to sell the Takara headmasters set if it's missing one headmaster? I could try buying the Legends version and the Takara headmasters set, keep the US Brainstorm head, and then sell the rest of the headmasters; of course, I would be destroying the Legends Brainstorm head to save the world from at least one of those abortions.

I was also surprised at how much I liked him, pretty much bought for completionism's sake but wound up enjoying him. The beast mode is fun for posing him menacing small figures.

Paint can be fixed, mediocre plastic is unfortunate but won't kill a toy, terrible engineering; which is the trademark of every Classics original; is unfixable.

Nigga, the engineering for most Classics still holds up incredibly well, especially the Voyagers. Are you that one guy who always apologizes for CW because he likes figures with the complexity and quality of a Playskool toy?

I wonder if any Houston anons looted any toys from flooded stores. I would.
>>

Shitty aesthetics can't be fixed though, and that's something that actually worked in Classics 1.0 and doesn't in a lot of modern figures. Also, hollow parts.

Like >>6510781 said he has a lot of playability since he's a two headed dragon and what have you. It's also just personal taste, but I really love the blocky retro aesthetic of the Dragon mode. I've always been a fan of cheesy bots from the 70s and 80s.

As for the robot mode, I can't really find a pose that feels "right" for him. Not sure why, guess I don't care for how the heads function as arms.
>>
>>6510826
I can understand why CW needed some compromises and I don't really mind them, the alternative seen on 3Ps with the hideously overly complicated transformations and rampant partsforming is way worse than MUH PLAYSKOOL, but that doesn't give Classics a free pass. Their issues are completely unrelated and it's completely random and stupid to bring CW just because you hold the line in contempt.
The only Classics original voyager that's somewhat decent is Jetfire, and it's still awkward as fuck. Optimus and Megatron were trash and wasted potential because whoever designed them had no fucking clue of what to make with the kibble on any of them; both seemed to be made as Action Masters and the team then went "fuck it, just put some panels on them i want to go home early".
The deluxes were just sad.

Classics/Henkei Astrotrain is better than TR Astrotrain because it doesn't have that fucking awful partsforming block head and the alt modes actually look like real alt modes instead of whatever bullshit TR Astrotrain is trying to pass off. Upscale it to a voyager and add some articulation and it would be pretty much perfect.

If by compromises you mean "having bland-looking robots turn into bland-looking cars that combine into bland-looking combiners just for the sake of hastily selling 20 repaints for each mold" then honestly, I don't think it was particularly worth it.

>Optimus and Megatron were trash and wasted potential because whoever designed them had no fucking clue of what to make with the kibble on any of them
What kibble? The small sides of a truck in Optimus and the wings in Megatron? Because that is literally some of the most negligible kibble there is, you would be shocked at some Beast Wars figures it that really triggers your autism all that bad.

>both seemed to be made as Action Masters
>you people have no standards as long as there's articulation
No, our standards are for aesthetically pleasing robots that turn into cool vehicles, beasts and whatnot. Classics was an absolute success in that regard.

>The deluxes were just sad.
Nigga, what are you talking about? Hot Rod and Astrotrain do have their issues, but Bee / Cliff and Mirage are still some of the best Deluxe figures ever made. Grimlock and Starscream / Thundercracker were also fairly solid as far as design goes.

Yeah, my issue with is is predominantly how excessively blocky and feeble the robot feels, but in comparison to the TR both his alt modes are genuinely impressive. I'll have to agree he should have been done in a larger scale with more attention to robot engineering.

I mean, if you want SarkSarkSark or Partbotron type combiners I won't be questioning your taste but your sanity; but they were made to be played with.
You can switch limbs in minutes, something that would take hours with 3Ps. Some had terrible designs, though, but they were really good for a line of combiners designed on a budget of pocket fluff.

You needed to go to the voyagers to find arms that actually try looking like arms.

>Nigga, what are you talking about? Hot Rod and Astrotrain do have their issues, but Bee / Cliff and Mirage are still some of the best Deluxe figures ever made. Grimlock and Starscream / Thundercracker were also fairly solid as far as design goes.
Mirage has tiny, vestigial blocks of t-rex arms like pretty much everything before the first movie line; like Hot Rod does; like Astrotrain does; like Bumblebee does; like Grimlock does; like the Seekers do.
"Aesthetically pleasing robots" my ass.

>>6510877
Exactly why I said they seemed to be designed like action masters first.
The altmodes are alright, I guess, gay space gun and gay smooth truck and all, but the robot modes come battered and bloodied out of the transformation.

Saw this sitting at Target while I was out and figured I'd buy myself an early birthday present. It's pretty good but goddamn the tank mode either falls apart or won't roll because the legs jut out from underneath and the treads won't peg into the shoulders in jet mode. Also sometimes those stupid ugly pylons on his collar are hard to get back in once they pop up. Tailfins make great heel spurs though. Did the Blitzwing version fix any of these issues?

Honestly, you know what the problem with the TR Blitzwing/Megatron mold is I think? I think it's a couple of things, the pegs on the shins that are great for robot mode but go nowhere in vehicle mode and the fact the legs are sculpted to be in an a-stance.
