Weekly Challenge (Running 8/27-9/2):
>Make something HORROR related, bonus points for Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Poltergeist in honor of Tobe Hooper dying
Thread Challenge gets recycled because I like it and could use drawing inspiration:
>Draw a concept art piece based on anon's scrap build, or build something based on anon's concept art piece
>>6507966
800 US
>$100 for Kylo Ren's TIE Fighter
Why would anyone ever buy this
>>6508148
Never mind, it's 80 USD. Still can't see how it'd be worth it though
>larger thread was pruned because of shitposting
>other thread deleted
Still waiting on the cracklink order to replace these broken sides.
So how about them slightly updated minifigures
How much does a Jango Fett figure from 2002 go for?
I've been thinking about re-assembling mine since I've got two of them.
>>6507459
The cactus is from Crazy Bricks. It came as a freebie when I ordered the carrot costume. The cactus has a recessed stud on top and two anti-studs on the back.
I posted the X-Files bootlegs in the /pbbg/ >>6508272
>>6508420
According to Bricklink, they start around $45 if they're in decent shape.
>>6508432
Damn really?
I should build one back up soon then, I'm using one head for a Solid Snake figure and the other has no home (they're kind of weird since the skin tone is darker).
>>6508431
Is the carrot suit two pieces?
>>6508407
>>6508408
chances are he deleted all the guy's posts and that guy happened to be OP
Dang, what happened to the larger thread?
Also posting an update.
Bricktober set, possibly more.

>>6508498
>Also posting an update.
It looks like there should be just a bit of sky visible behind the wing and axe, like pic related.
>>6508502
I need those money and wizard suits pronto
>>6508469
I was the op and can confirm that was not me.Looks like it was pruned because it became a containment thread for lego shitposts and a RLM argument.
>rather than modeling the entire interior we only get 2 rooms and this shit
Fucking really? And they want $800 for this set?
>>6508537
>And they want $800
meanwhile in Australia, $1300.
>>6508537
holy fucking shit i'm actually laughing
>>6508537
2 rooms that are really one room split into two! I made this before more high rez photo's came out,
>>6508537
I feel like this would work better if they extended the built part a few more studs. Not good, but better than this at least.
>>6508551
Compared to my interior which is on the same exact scale as this new UCS one the fact the room is split into two annoys the heck out of me.
>>6508544
>you could buy the set at the US price and have it shipped overseas and it would still be cheaper than what it costs to buy it in here Australia
I was already having a hard time justifying the purchase but that price basically solidifies my decision as a no. A fucking $300 markup for no reason is complete bullshit.
>>6508529
Motherfuck shit ass, I was having a grown-up discussion about Ninjago in there.
>>6508575
Ninjago sucks ass
>>6508570
just wait til they figure out how to region lock instructions, and no turning them upside down will not work
Finally finished my minifig that coincidentally ended up looking like DC's Spoiler. She's an excellent source of B vitamins, apparently.
>>6507634
What are those little parts under the replacement dish?
>>6508608
Some details that are different between the old and new version, extremely ultra important
What set should I put in the middle?
>>6508600
Is that her superpower?
Feasible to glue this new falcon set? Don't want any parts falling off by accident.
it is what it is
>>6508658
missile tower removed
>>6508658
Pretty, it is.
>>6508537
I expected cutaway rooms. The model is way to big to be largely hollow. The thing is probably right around 30-40 pounds. Lego is only so strong.
>>6508570
I was expecting to get price gouged in Canada but surprising it's cheapest here anywhere in the world at $900 CAD.
Feels good man. We're price gouged on everything from the US from food to vehicles.
>>6508624
A lamp.
>>6508659
I thought you were scrapping this
>>6508669
hahahha only funny the 400th time xDD
So you get two Han Solos and BB8 but no Luke, C-3P0 or R2D2. wtf
>>6508675

>>6508675
but bb-8 and porgs, anon!
cuteness overload eeeeeeeeeee
>>6508561
richboyjhade on youtube?
>>6508676
Yeah and it looks great but I guarantee it's flimsy and you're unable to move it without great caution. This new release is still a good improvement over the old one which didn't have anything inside.
Besides, this has finally made owning a UCS Falcon affordable. Now redoing one like that is possible without spending a minimum $3000 or saving a bit off that price and spending a ton of time buying parts from dozens of Bricklink sellers.
>>6508676
That one also doesn't have a roof. Not to mention the interior is kind of bare.
>>6508681
posted in the last thread but i guess it did change a little so here ya go. yeah i always try and use those solar panel pieces whenever i get a chance

As long as Walmart buy the sets, I will always get them on clearance a year later for 50% off. Just got a Poe Xwing for $49. TFA Falcon a few months ago for $75.
>>6508674
>oh nah, i scrapped a bunch of other space/star wars shit and sheared it down to this, then i got inspired by the other anon who was building 16x16 stackable builds and thought i'd give it a try
That's awesome, I love it when people like my stuff enough to make their own stuff
>>6508773
I actually bought a roll of this today. Really just need it to keep minifigs standing on some shelves.
>>6507866
Was this set unreleased?
>>6508773
This is a bad idea that will surround your toys with garbage, and I think some of the sideways shots in that video were filmed right side up
>>6508773
I remember the Kickstarter for this. I saw it at Walmart on Monday in the connectable building brick aisle [toylers]because my closest Walmart can fit all their Friends, Disney Princess, Duplo, Lego, McFarlane, MegaBloks, and clone brands on the same shelf.[/toylers]

>>6508843
I was thinking of getting some of those. What's the tolerance like? Any problem with sprues, etc?
>>6508849
I don't have any I just stole the image from the kickstarter page. Suposedly they release in December.
Ahh the old thread got deleted! Made some sorta progress on my Megazord!
>>6508854
Different anon, but it looks a lot better without so much concentrated orange! Awesome job so far, you're amazing at this.
>>6508695
If you look at other pictures Jhaelon Edwards has of it, it does have sag lines. Something Lego would never release.
>>6508904
>it does have sag lines. Something Lego would never release
A few years ago some anons were complaining about a big Star Destroyer having pieces randomly pop off because the official build forced some pieces to bend at the wrong angles.
all that's left of my ghetto space display
>>6508815
definitely activated the almonds, anon. i'm still torn as to whether i prefer enclosed builds like yours or cutaways, but i guess i'll just see where my preferences take me. right now i'm quite addicted to cutaways

Thanks dude! I made it so the Red mech just moves its arms in the transformation! Its legs and feet look like that armour that goes round hips! Changed the arms for the orange mech and gave the Red mech some actual chunky fists!
Ive made Grey Car into a Green car, That way the mech consists of the Four Main Galaxy squad Colours PLUS Black! This also lets both sniper mechs be available!
>>6508561
Why do you care? Looks like you don't really need to own the new falcon from LEGO if you've already built an awesome version of your own.
>>6508955
Clearly you've never had the experience of, after completing a personal project, seeing someone else embark on a similar project and watch them make a bunch of little mistakes that they wouldn't have if they had just cared a little bit more, or paid a little more attention.
It's frustrating, man.
I started doing some test shoots and ended up with this

OK, the end of it caught me off guard and now my sides are gone.
I'm kinda annoyed Lego didn't change their FO Stormie heads to match TLJ.
Of course, eventually they will and then my army won't match.
>>6509199

Yeah. The helmet is different now. Really noticeable next to each other.

Could anyone tell me if these figures are rare?
I got that Order of the Phoenix castle set back in 2007 and I wasn't sure if there were any other sets from it or what the value might be on these.
Why is the Brick Bank so comfy?

Pink bitch is worth quite a bit due to her color.
Force Friday sale going on now mates.
Looking over some of the sale items. Why did they give Rey a man's hairline?
>>6509454
Because that's what she has in the movie
>>6509454
She has longer tied back hair in TLJ. It just doesn't come off particular well in that style.
>>6509448
How much would you say realistically for Umbridge and Snape?
Calling it a night for now lads. Hopefully finish it within the next 24hrs. Let me know any suggestions you have.
>>6509521
Not sure. I only know because I got one of the pink torsos from arealight (just to make the order over the $9 minimum) thinking "oh, just need some pink legs and arms, shouldnt be too hard to find!"
Woops. Legs cost me like $10 at the time, arms... cant remember but had to buy some torso that was like $5+, I remember pink chick there I was looking at and she was very expensive.

What's the best one out of what's currently out?
>>6509614
> Falcon
> Death Star Playset
> Hoth Playset

> Snowspeeder
> Slave One
Clearly the Slave One.
Hypothetical for all you licensefags.
How would you feel if for the up coming Han Solo movie, they retired the Millennium Falcon (The "smaller" Force Awakens one, not the new UCS) and replaced it with a near identical one, just modded to be more inline with the stand alone film?
>>6508680
what the fuck are porgs
>>6509404

It's a dumb reason to like it, but the flooring is really cool and it has a bunch of small fun details
>>6509662
cute, anon
they are CUTE
doesn't that make you want to buy like twelve
So the Silencer is the best Star Wars set recently released right?
>>6509785
That's a weird way of saying Darth Vader Transformation
>>6509652
This is exactly what they are going to do according to Rebelscum. They say the sets are Falcon, X-Wing, some kind of Landspeeder, a battlepack and a microfighter but I think they are just guessing from the boxes since aside from the Falcon nothing of this really fits the boxes. What they call X-Wing for example is a square box normally for TIE Fighters.
I hate all these samey releases when there really are better solutions for many of the Falcons bits. The E7 Falcon was already practically identical to the 2011 one so a Solo Movie one would just return back to 2011.
On the not of Falcons, why do they use shields and dishes for the Dejarik table? When you try to place pieces there to represent the figures they will just slide off.
>>6509796
The TLJ sets are definitely not the best except maybe the Stardestroyer. The better sets are always spring stuff like Ach-To temple, Praetorian Battle Pack.
>>6509803
>On the not of Falcons, why do they use shields and dishes for the Dejarik table? When you try to place pieces there to represent the figures they will just slide off.
Because the Dejarik is an iconic design you can't get with a plate? Use your imagination for the pieces
When the fuck are we getting Praetorian figures?
The Chinese have really seen through modern western culture
>>6509532
>a copuple of torsos without arms
Try adding a crack on one of them.
You're doing great btw, but I assume you know this.
>>6508509
Nope. Those two fucks smashed the dish. Not deserving minifigs.
>>6508509

>>6509878
Not Nien specifically but we got figs of the same race.
>>6509841

>When the cracklink hits just right
Now I have a blue Y-Wing to match my blue X-Wing.
I guess I should get the U-Wing next because that won't require any extra parts.
>>6509941

This is the only full-scaled X-wing I own, but it has some strange charm in it. Almost like it aged like wine. It still looks good to me, which is something I can't say of most of the 99-sets.

Only two versions of Ten Numb.
The last version has a face you can use for Nien.
>>6510273
You got a close-up shot of the cockpit interior? How's the headroom for minifigs when they are sitting?
I'm trying to copy the front of the ship in LDD and make something around it but the minifig in mine is tight on room.

>>6509975
I really dig how small it is, for some reason
How quick do you think it will sell? My bro might end up getting one just because "it's the ultimate set" but he first has some items to sell on ebay and such that will recoup like half of the cost....will he be fucked if he doesn't buy within like the first week? He managed to get the 911 GT3 easily through the shop.
>>6510657
It's going to be for sale for a minimum 2 years. Wait for the next May 4th event and get double or triple points and some freebies with it.
>>6509975
It's iconic because it's pretty close to screen accurate, while retaining lego-ness associated with older space themes that star wars killed.
Don't get me wrong, I love the diversification of parts in the last 15 years, but that early wave was lego being applied to star wars, not the other way around. Or something like that, I don't ahve a better analogy.
my attempt to add onto the city

i was always fascinated by how SW-people want merch based on that franchise...
i know i buy stuff too. but...

hope you enjoy it tho...
>>6510705
I'm actually not that big of a fan of Star Wars. It's mostly sentimental. My father watched the original movies with me and gave me a big Kenner Millennium Falcon he found at a garage sale before he passed away.
It's still worth that to me but still feels kind of bitter knowing I could have just waited and saved myself $1000.
>>6510705

Wow, nice. Try to continue the second level sidewalk along with your build, or end it with an observation deck or something. Will really add to the look of it.

not familiar with this line, but it looks neat and is a lot for the money. better than most of the garbage they out out now. i'd suck mega dicks if they brought back the old school dragon knight stuff and the pirate/armada line. some of the newer pirate stuff is okay, but those old sets were fucking great.

The strider, dragon and lightning jet are definitely the best ones.

Yeah, outside of the standout sets from flavor of the month themes I stick to Hobbit/LotR sets that still have good price per part ratios to get my castle fix, that and whatever is on clearance. I have low exceptions, but high hopes for the classic anniversary wave coming up, I'd be happy if it brought back original factions like pic related.

Feel a little guilty on this one. The twin rotor chinook types are literally built off instructions from actual sets, and the bigger one in the back is the ResQ chopper with "guns" and "rocket pods" added. The rest are my own, loosely based on the real-life CH-53. The rotors look retardedly small but I no longer have sufficient long pieces for them. Med chopper has a winch and an open left side. Small one on the far left is a recon bird. The black/yellow in the front has instrument panels on the inside, and that little tiny black piece next to it with the colored ends fits under the nose and is supposed to be a thermal/infrared/camera pod.

I'm putting together a tower for a background set and had to put a ladder in because otherwise it would bother me that there's no way to access the upper floors even though it probably won't even be visible in the shot. All that matters is if you're having fun.
>>6511428
>>6511435
>MAKE A SPOOKYTRON FACTION!

>>6510273
Wasn't satisfied with how small it was, so I removed the play features and doubled the space in the back.

>>6511436
cont.
The quality on these is somewhat weaker. In the front is the 1999 X-Wing that I recolored to "Blue Squadron" after seeing Rogue One. Also in front are random anti-aircraft pods. Middle is a pseudo-F/A-18 and one of my favorites. In the back is an AWACS/electronic warfare plane. Far left is a medium bomber/cargo plane (used to be better, but it's kinda shit now b/c I scavenged a lot of parts from it for other things). Rear-right is pretty meh, but not as bad as it used to be. Scraping the bottom of the barrel on aircraft pieces, so it's an air-refueling plane.
>>6511452

Not in your lifetime.
