Weekly Challenge (Running 8/27-9/2):
>Make something HORROR related, bonus points for Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Poltergeist in honor of Tobe Hooper dying
Thread Challenge gets recycled because I like it and could use drawing inspiration:
>Draw a concept art piece based on anon's scrap build, or build something based on anon's concept art piece
Dang, what happened to the larger thread?
Also posting an update.
YESS MY SUPREME THREAD REIGNS SUPREME
fuck if I know why though
>Also posting an update.
It looks like there should be just a bit of sky visible behind the wing and axe, like pic related.
>rather than modeling the entire interior we only get 2 rooms and this shit
Fucking really? And they want $800 for this set?
2 rooms that are really one room split into two! I made this before more high rez photo's came out,
Compared to my interior which is on the same exact scale as this new UCS one the fact the room is split into two annoys the heck out of me.
>you could buy the set at the US price and have it shipped overseas and it would still be cheaper than what it costs to buy it in here Australia
I was already having a hard time justifying the purchase but that price basically solidifies my decision as a no. A fucking $300 markup for no reason is complete bullshit.
Finally finished my minifig that coincidentally ended up looking like DC's Spoiler. She's an excellent source of B vitamins, apparently.
I was expecting to get price gouged in Canada but surprising it's cheapest here anywhere in the world at $900 CAD.
Feels good man. We're price gouged on everything from the US from food to vehicles.
So you get two Han Solos and BB8 but no Luke, C-3P0 or R2D2. wtf
Yeah and it looks great but I guarantee it's flimsy and you're unable to move it without great caution. This new release is still a good improvement over the old one which didn't have anything inside.
Besides, this has finally made owning a UCS Falcon affordable. Now redoing one like that is possible without spending a minimum $3000 or saving a bit off that price and spending a ton of time buying parts from dozens of Bricklink sellers.
posted in the last thread but i guess it did change a little so here ya go. yeah i always try and use those solar panel pieces whenever i get a chance
guest starring t'challa being a fuckin creep
sticker piece from pic related. not exactly space themed but it does the job in a pinch if you squint a little
>oh nah, i scrapped a bunch of other space/star wars shit and sheared it down to this, then i got inspired by the other anon who was building 16x16 stackable builds and thought i'd give it a try
That's awesome, I love it when people like my stuff enough to make their own stuff
I remember the Kickstarter for this. I saw it at Walmart on Monday in the connectable building brick aisle [toylers]because my closest Walmart can fit all their Friends, Disney Princess, Duplo, Lego, McFarlane, MegaBloks, and clone brands on the same shelf.[/toylers]
>Was this set unreleased?
Goddamn 4chan spam filter won't let me post the link, but it's the second link in this image.
Box art mockup from the very beginning of the SW line
Ahh the old thread got deleted! Made some sorta progress on my Megazord!
>it does have sag lines. Something Lego would never release
A few years ago some anons were complaining about a big Star Destroyer having pieces randomly pop off because the official build forced some pieces to bend at the wrong angles.
all that's left of my ghetto space display
definitely activated the almonds, anon. i'm still torn as to whether i prefer enclosed builds like yours or cutaways, but i guess i'll just see where my preferences take me. right now i'm quite addicted to cutaways
Thanks dude! I made it so the Red mech just moves its arms in the transformation! Its legs and feet look like that armour that goes round hips! Changed the arms for the orange mech and gave the Red mech some actual chunky fists!
Ive made Grey Car into a Green car, That way the mech consists of the Four Main Galaxy squad Colours PLUS Black! This also lets both sniper mechs be available!
Clearly you've never had the experience of, after completing a personal project, seeing someone else embark on a similar project and watch them make a bunch of little mistakes that they wouldn't have if they had just cared a little bit more, or paid a little more attention.
It's frustrating, man.
I started doing some test shoots and ended up with this
>never bought from bricklink before
>want to buy some muskets
>notice a seller has 24 of them for 10 cents each ($2.40 total)
>seller requires minimum buy of $10
>seller has nothing else in his store
How does this work? Will he still let me buy all of them if I put them in my cart?
WLGSBT- Only time will tell
Could anyone tell me if these figures are rare?
I got that Order of the Phoenix castle set back in 2007 and I wasn't sure if there were any other sets from it or what the value might be on these.
I changed the stud on his seat so he could sit still in there, I love the design of his office and the giant chandelier.
>tfw have different bandits positioned inside and around the bank trying to figure out ways of getting into the vault
Force Friday sale going on now mates.
Looking over some of the sale items. Why did they give Rey a man's hairline?
Calling it a night for now lads. Hopefully finish it within the next 24hrs. Let me know any suggestions you have.
Not sure. I only know because I got one of the pink torsos from arealight (just to make the order over the $9 minimum) thinking "oh, just need some pink legs and arms, shouldnt be too hard to find!"
Woops. Legs cost me like $10 at the time, arms... cant remember but had to buy some torso that was like $5+, I remember pink chick there I was looking at and she was very expensive.
>can't use bricklink to figure out the value of figures
Hypothetical for all you licensefags.
How would you feel if for the up coming Han Solo movie, they retired the Millennium Falcon (The "smaller" Force Awakens one, not the new UCS) and replaced it with a near identical one, just modded to be more inline with the stand alone film?
This is exactly what they are going to do according to Rebelscum. They say the sets are Falcon, X-Wing, some kind of Landspeeder, a battlepack and a microfighter but I think they are just guessing from the boxes since aside from the Falcon nothing of this really fits the boxes. What they call X-Wing for example is a square box normally for TIE Fighters.
I hate all these samey releases when there really are better solutions for many of the Falcons bits. The E7 Falcon was already practically identical to the 2011 one so a Solo Movie one would just return back to 2011.
On the not of Falcons, why do they use shields and dishes for the Dejarik table? When you try to place pieces there to represent the figures they will just slide off.
The TLJ sets are definitely not the best except maybe the Stardestroyer. The better sets are always spring stuff like Ach-To temple, Praetorian Battle Pack.
>On the not of Falcons, why do they use shields and dishes for the Dejarik table? When you try to place pieces there to represent the figures they will just slide off.
Because the Dejarik is an iconic design you can't get with a plate? Use your imagination for the pieces
When the fuck are we getting Praetorian figures?
The Chinese have really seen through modern western culture
>When the cracklink hits just right
Now I have a blue Y-Wing to match my blue X-Wing.
I guess I should get the U-Wing next because that won't require any extra parts.
>not glorious gray
This is the only full-scaled X-wing I own, but it has some strange charm in it. Almost like it aged like wine. It still looks good to me, which is something I can't say of most of the 99-sets.
I need some second opinions because I'm really on the fence about which design I should go with here
neither, the six-wide roof section really doesn't work for me.
I'd use pic related, using 1x1 cheese slopes and leaving some studs exposed. Or maybe putting trans-black tiles on them to suggest sensor emplacements matching the windsheld color.
Finally finished this damn thing
I need to get him a bigger sword one day but im happy I got all Five galaxy squad colours together in a mecha!
Got pic related in the mail today, had preordered it a couple of days ago.
Slightly smaller than I expected, the cockpit piece is a smaller version of the one on the older Slave 1s. Definitely going to give it some more cargo space in the future.
Only two versions of Ten Numb.
The last version has a face you can use for Nien.
You got a close-up shot of the cockpit interior? How's the headroom for minifigs when they are sitting?
I'm trying to copy the front of the ship in LDD and make something around it but the minifig in mine is tight on room.
This one is literally a UCS version of the Resistance Transporter's cockpit.
>This one is literally a UCS version of the Resistance Transporter's cockpit.
At least it makes more sense as a stand-alone ship rather than the truncated cockpit of a cobbled together transport.
such a fun little build. gonna try and integrate the little food stand into the rest of the city now
>tfw spent $1500 and countless hours bricklinking a 10179 Falcon last year
>only kept the cost down this low because I swapped expensive parts and didn't get the instructions / box / stickers
>like the new Falcon better and only have room for one
>now I'll be lucky to get half what I paid in Bricklink orders when I list it
>closer to a third after selling fees and what not.
Just fuck my shit up senpai.
How quick do you think it will sell? My bro might end up getting one just because "it's the ultimate set" but he first has some items to sell on ebay and such that will recoup like half of the cost....will he be fucked if he doesn't buy within like the first week? He managed to get the 911 GT3 easily through the shop.
It's iconic because it's pretty close to screen accurate, while retaining lego-ness associated with older space themes that star wars killed.
Don't get me wrong, I love the diversification of parts in the last 15 years, but that early wave was lego being applied to star wars, not the other way around. Or something like that, I don't ahve a better analogy.
>>tfw spent $1500 and countless hours bricklinking a 10179 Falcon last year
i was always fascinated by how SW-people want merch based on that franchise...
i know i buy stuff too. but...
1500$ just because its le "Han Solo and Chewbacca ship xDD"
hope you enjoy it tho...
I'm actually not that big of a fan of Star Wars. It's mostly sentimental. My father watched the original movies with me and gave me a big Kenner Millennium Falcon he found at a garage sale before he passed away.
It's still worth that to me but still feels kind of bitter knowing I could have just waited and saved myself $1000.
Gave mine a new color scheme recently
>mfw can't afford the cool huge sets like ninjago city without feeling despairingly guilty
I hate being a college student into Lego
part of my downstairs hobby table giant rainbow castle / army clusterfuck
Holy shit that's awesome, I should try to rebuild my old Fort Legoredo one day.
I'm kind of tempted to build my own pirate ship soon with my Durmstrang Ship base, but I have no idea what colors or pieces to use.
i got legoredo with my first big kid job paycheck. i got the sheriff's office and the bank/general store set as a kid and legoredo was always the one that got away. pic related was one of my first "holy shit this is awesome" christmas presents, not a bad scheme to go with.
Can i nominate the ninjago water strider for set of the year?
>short mahri tubes
Truly we live in the best timeline
Mail call baby, gonna be getting the Parisian Cafe soon so I'm getting a variety of different chefs and waiters to add in there (might end up changing the second level into a small cafe or sushi bar or something).
Here's my tentative figures to use in the restaurant, I'm a little afraid it's going to be cramped inside.
Here's a cheap collage of fuel from my trip 2 years ago. I'd love to see that beer keg bar in lego form.
not familiar with this line, but it looks neat and is a lot for the money. better than most of the garbage they out out now. i'd suck mega dicks if they brought back the old school dragon knight stuff and the pirate/armada line. some of the newer pirate stuff is okay, but those old sets were fucking great.
>legs on backwards for kneeling knight
Yeah, outside of the standout sets from flavor of the month themes I stick to Hobbit/LotR sets that still have good price per part ratios to get my castle fix, that and whatever is on clearance. I have low exceptions, but high hopes for the classic anniversary wave coming up, I'd be happy if it brought back original factions like pic related.
this is a good idea but i'm not sure how to execute it without making a giant mess of things. there is a free technic slot on the second and this was the only thing i could think of at 2 AM, which is not particularly useful or attractive but does at least provide a wraparound of sorts and makes the end of the walkway less abrupt
i like this set but if i'm honest it's pure nostalgia. in hindset it really is a pretty crap build with three quarters of it taken up by BURPs
thanks anon...it's pretty fun
same guy, and i actually agree. it was one of the first things i bought with lawn mowing money as a kid, and it has sentimental value. i like majisto's tower a bit better, but overall the entire dragon knight line with the plumes and shield designs was awesome.
>but the sails disappeared somewhere in my dark age
man, you and me both. sometimes i hate my younger self. i got that ship and pic related on the same christmas. shit was so cash.
same guy. here's the inner keep of da rainbow castle. might dump moar later. i have that entire hobby table filled with outer forts and shelves of about 25 aircraft w/ a bunch of halftracks and military-type vehicles.
thanks. they're from an older castle set that i got on a re-release in the early 2000s. i think it was about $25.
sort of. i usually don't secure the keep to the baseplate. i keep this removable throne piece inside it. the back pillars look kinda dumb in red, but i needed the gray pieces for another project so i'm digging through the box for a better alternative.
>heard that it WAS in the Euro catalog
Yeah, it's in the Euro Catalog, doesn't mean it's only coming out there, just that it's coming out there FIRST.
partial side view of the table. the castle is rainbow because the majority of my black and gray pieces are in other castles and i had an excess of pieces from the old creator buckets.
the white/blue building is a comm center/air traffic control.
lel. pretty sure they're from pic related. i never had the set, but luckily got them from a bulk lot i picked up on ebay some years back. having said that, the older android/space sets and the aquazone stuff had some really cool color schemes.
continued dump. one of the "outer forts". you can kinda see it in the bottom right of >>6511355
Royal Treasury on the left (all my treasure chests inside) and Wolfpack tower/fort on the right.
thx. better pic of my mechanized homies. halftracks w/ towed artillery in back, anti-air gun truck in the front right, APC in the center, back left is a self-propelled siege gun, far left is a jeep and a communications/command truck (has a small dish on one of the antennas, can't see it that well. far right truck is kind of plain and shitty, but i'm short on some of the cooler shaped bricks at this point.
>Why does the mountain climber have a big machete?
Feel a little guilty on this one. The twin rotor chinook types are literally built off instructions from actual sets, and the bigger one in the back is the ResQ chopper with "guns" and "rocket pods" added. The rest are my own, loosely based on the real-life CH-53. The rotors look retardedly small but I no longer have sufficient long pieces for them. Med chopper has a winch and an open left side. Small one on the far left is a recon bird. The black/yellow in the front has instrument panels on the inside, and that little tiny black piece next to it with the colored ends fits under the nose and is supposed to be a thermal/infrared/camera pod.
Typing this out makes me realize how deep my autism runs.
Yeah, I made the CMF comparison in my head, too. Then I thought about the minifigures I paid a lot more than $4 bucks for. I imagine those City ones will be cheaper to build through B&P and/or BrickLink, as I don't see anything exclusive. The Batman movie ones are closer to being worth the $20 bucks.
Different anon, I was just pulling out a bunch of orange and trans-orange pieces because of reasons but that sounds like a better idea.
Suddenly I kinda regret putting the sticker on my robo stalker twenty long years ago.
Super autismo dump is almost done. The two in the very front are light bombers, red/yellow on the far left is a scout/recon plane, and the rest are fighter bombers.
>Typing this out makes me realize how deep my autism runs.
I'm putting together a tower for a background set and had to put a ladder in because otherwise it would bother me that there's no way to access the upper floors even though it probably won't even be visible in the shot. All that matters is if you're having fun.
>MAKE A SPOOKYTRON FACTION!
I support this idea
Wasn't satisfied with how small it was, so I removed the play features and doubled the space in the back.
Still a work in progress, have only had this set for a day.
The quality on these is somewhat weaker. In the front is the 1999 X-Wing that I recolored to "Blue Squadron" after seeing Rogue One. Also in front are random anti-aircraft pods. Middle is a pseudo-F/A-18 and one of my favorites. In the back is an AWACS/electronic warfare plane. Far left is a medium bomber/cargo plane (used to be better, but it's kinda shit now b/c I scavenged a lot of parts from it for other things). Rear-right is pretty meh, but not as bad as it used to be. Scraping the bottom of the barrel on aircraft pieces, so it's an air-refueling plane.
I love those planes.
Please flip the red/green beacons on the circled planes because aerial safety is very important.
lel, fair point. it's been a hobby since childhood (born in 87), so it would probably be wierder if I didn't focus on the little things after this long.
Probably the last pic. I have a few boats from the old coast guard/divers line and a bunch of jeeps cloned from a few of the old city sets and resq line, but they aren't particularly fascinating.
Here's just a money shot of all my knights/cav/imperial horse bros. Please excuse the black shit on the table, it was there from the previous homeowner and I've been too lazy to paint it grass-green.
Anyone knows any articulated mocs of house cats (a least one year old)? I want to build one for my futuristic army as a tamed monstrous creature.
Already tried to look for one everywhere but no luck.
First time seeing Chinese knockoffs? Their English often isn't the best, so using whatever version of Google Translate China has probably told them that "hero" and "escort" (as in "bodyguard") were close enough.
Slight downgrade from the original but I still want one.
>TRU has 2 CMFs for $5
>breakfast Garmadon that was missing a spoon
>breakfast Garmadon that came with an extra spoon
>no I didn't just 'lose' one from the first one on my desk
Meh. All I wanted was the bubble tea fish general girl.
i got a bunch of trees and road plates a while back. r8 my collection
What are the chances that we will get some harry potter sets in 2018? Not just cmf and fantastic beasts for which i don't care much. I'm a student and don't know if i should spend my money on ninjago or should i wait for the 2018 leaks and see hp sets and decide.
Fuck 2018 will be especially hard for my wallet with city, creator, ninjago movie + series and harry potter, honorable mentions to lego batman and jurassic park, i will get them if i like the set pictures, these preliminary pics are pretty bad quality. I already see myself regretting from not buying every set i want, this shit sucks.
Could pass as a cat.
Maybe those Chima creatures or the recent Creator cat.
yeah. shit is what, like $10? a lot of good pieces for the price.
>Let me guess, BRIKWARS?!?!
no, didn't even know that existed until i googled it just now. that seems a bit too...reddit for my taste.
>>Let me guess, BRIKWARS?!?!
>no, didn't even know that existed until i googled it just now. that seems a bit too...reddit for my taste.
Meh, Brikwars is the Chan-est Wargame you can play with your Building Blocks...
>that was some pretty cringy RP battle stuff.
Ah, that was probably the Soap Opera board, or some other instance of a Brikwarrior trying to shovel their "story" onto the "cannon."
Don't mind them any, like any Building Brick Community, you have people trying to construct "Narratives" to go with their Creations, ignore them and build an army of Chicken Walkers piloted by Chickens!
When you get there, tell them Whiteagle sent cha, and ask Stubby if I can be unbanned yet!
>lol what did you get banned for?
Super Natural Dice rules.
I like that Mike changed it from "Element" to "Talisman," but needing a "Talisman" for EACH SN Die gets a bit ridiculous when a Minifigure needs at least two to power any sort of useful Ranged Super Natural Effect...
...Also whining about my shitty life situation, but that should be greatly improving shortly.
>Being a sorry excuse of a person. Don't engage him.
Someone is salty their Brikfic got called out for being cringy...
>I've never touched Brik* games.
Then why are you here?
>This isn't your personal Brikwars blog?
No, but I'm mostly just using up the image limit since we past bumping 40-odd post ago.
After resisting the temptation of checking out this Jang guy, I finally caved in. This is the first video I ever watched of him. I gotta say I'm quite disappointed how disorganized and low-autism he is. I mean, nothing is really sorted, it's just placed in general, BL-like categories. Why did you guys made him a meme again?
So I bought the Resistance Transport Pod earlier today and just got done adding it to my modified Troop Transport (>>6510626).
Not 100% finished just yet. Need to get some more parts to finish the neck and swap out some stand in colors to make it grayer.
I haven't had much chance to make custom stuff but I made this mech from old abandoned MOCs of mine for my scifi explorer/sigfig? guy. He's got a hook on his hip to hold the backpack/gun.
Mech holding pilot, pilot wearing backpack/weapon. Final pic.
There is another Praetorian Guard version at Toys RuS,why?
Toys RuS exclusive.
We gave bonkle for this...
I wish star wars to die already but they just keep milking it... with every new movie it gets worse and worse, i fear we will never get rid of lego star wars. What are actual chances of lego star wars being discontinued?
Not in your lifetime. Whilst I don't have any involvement in Lego, I do have a hand in various animated Star Wars productions and there's currently a solid 10 year plan with tentative plans for close to 20 years of releases. I can easily see Lego churning out sets alongside the animated releases indefinitely.
I hope so. With Nexo cancelled this year and Ninjago after season 9 or 10 Lego will be free.
Giving that hair to my supergirl is the greatest idea i ever had. She's a godtier waifig now
>when there's 1 BL order left and Monday is a post holiday
One thing that mega has always had on lego is weapons and guns. I love the mega super customizable guns with crazy attachments and shit. I get tired of seeing everyone with a SW blaster or megaphone piece.
Nexo is better than Ninjago!
>General Magmar will never love you
Nexo and Ninjago are both ok, each wave has a few very good sets, a plenty of sets that have play functions cool when you're a kid, and a few really bad ones. NK has one adventage, though, neither of the villain armies were quite as boring as most of the early Ninjago mooks like the robots.
