I think it's cool to get them too. The Shodo line is probably my favourite bang for your buck line, so I'm super happy it's continuing, hopefully covering tons of riders and monsters, and maybe some more secondary riders too, like Knight, if we get to Ryuki.

But anyways, for your concern, that's how figuarts are too, essentially just a representation of the character without gimmick. Really, only the gimmick lines and So-do (which are also quite cool) have been doing it, and that's cool, but Shodo is little action figures, so I'm good with that.

I do. Was really excited for him but super disappointed. He can't grip his sword well unless you put the hilt between his fingers, which will then stretch over time and get loose again. Nothing really stays in right. But those don't really matter, the worst part is how limited his hips are. That skirt is really hard plastic and the range on his legs are pretty pathetic. SHFSS was always just a glorified re-branding for remakes of old figures. The skeleton shit was just marketing. Kabuto was the first one and look at how the proportions are still stylized: The skinny waist, short crotch, and pronounced pectorals of the breastplate. They will never be 1:1 with the real suit actor because real human proportions are too squat and "disproportionate" to make a cool looking action figure. They really went all out with Build. They spared no detail. The belt in particular is surprisingly detailed considering how the Gamer and Ghost Drivers of the Riders from the same wave look like.

Sure, but the fact that those few they did release at retail did so poorly is probably part of the reason why they went the same route with Ex-Aid.

Though, in the first place, the fact that they went with so few with Ghost is probably at least in part due to how poorly Drive did at first (Type Dead Heat practically did as bad as the Ghost guys and Wild not much better). Tamashii Nations seems to mete out the releases of the currently airing Rider based on how the previous one did.

So hopefully Ex-Aid has done well enough that Build fares a little better, but who knows.
