But yeah 2 of the beard spots were unpanted and whoever attempted to paint it fucked up their brush and left a dark brown streak on his hair. Luckily I have the paints and the tools and fixed his hair and beard myself. Surprisingly my eyes were perfect. What's the concensus on Giorno 1st vs the new blue Giorno? I prefer Giorno in blue, but the blue used on the newer figure looks from the pictures to be too bright and I do kinda like the pink with green secondary colors. Reason I ask is cause I ordered a Giorno 1st from Mandy and I wanna know if I made the right call.

I really like the colors used on WF Giorno, I just really didn't wanna shell out 8-10k for him atm lol. Maybe later I suppose.

How much is shipping usually to America?

It varies based on what type of shipping you choose but RSAL should be your best option if you want to go down the cheap route with included shipping. I think that rounds to 1k+ if you go with that whereas EMS is your fastest but most expensive at around 2k-2.5k+

If you want a speed approximation, RSAL for me at least, 2 weeks roughly to leave Japan and hit Stateside at my local post office. EMS hits around 3-4 days.

I'm usually not a big fan of colorways that fuck too much with what I've come to consider canon colors for the hair, going really bizarre routes. Like white hair kakyoin, that's just silly to me. This gyro has such a pleasing cololor combination that I am willing to accept his crazy hair. I'd probably forgive medicos if we got this in the 2nd release (if the paint wasn't shit).

What are you talking about? Alter offers global support. Daibadi (TINY company) offers global support. GSC/Max Factory offers global support. Kotobukiya offers local support. Bandai offers local support through Bluefin. Other random companies will offer global support on a case by case basis. Medicos is one of the few that offers nothing but a one finger salute even IF you contact them in Japanese.

It's not entitlement. It's simply being competitive with other players in the arena. Revoltech has the same issue but they are doing so many re-releases and their stuff is so easily available that you can get support from HLJ/AmiAmi if needed then get a replacement later.

It happened with my Stone Free from a while back. Got two of the same head (regular face) and was missing the purple glasses head. Just had one yelling and two neutral faces.

It's definitely a RARE thing to happen in any line but it happens. It is slightly worrisome that Johnny already has two people complaining about that issue though which means it may or may not be more common for him.

Personally Young Joseph is up there since his color choices are solid and acessory count helps the figure a bit. The only knock against him I guess is the Smiling head isn't a default choice so you may have to lean on the more expensive WF release.

Just got Gyro today, sorta happy with him. I quite like the articulation but the paint is really making me dislike him. If the face were painted properly, I think I would love him. I really need a figma horse. What does the speech plate say? I remember reading a few threads back but I forgot.

Finally got amiami Gyro today, upon getting him out the box I thought that I was one of the lucky ones with my Gyro. But as soon as I started messing around with him, I had some issues.

First off, his right hip joint was frozen requiring some fiddling to get it loose. Then some the of holes for his hands had warped, requiring a little more force to get them into the wrist peg.

Other than those issues, he's alright. If the paint was a little better, he would be solid. Just thought I would give a little warning to anyone picking up Gyro in the future. Pic related, I gave Gyro a LEGO teddy bear as sort of a replacement for not actually having one.

I'm considering buying a Rohan. Rohan + HD second sounds appealing, because of both HD and the pink colorway, which I like. However, the third version looks like a better sculpt and doesn't have the midget syndrome from part 4. Any advice? The only figures from part 4 I have are Josuke, CD and KQ, and josuke looks pretty ridiculous compared to pretty much everyone, while cd is decent and kq sort of makes up for it by being so good. Woman carrying mail came to the door today, I'd just woke up at the time so I couldn't get the door, she had a package and was walking to my mom's aunties house a couple doors down (It's where I get shit delivered to when I'm not in). Medicos fucked this one up it's a expensive figure with hardly any accessories worth a damm and a limited release on top of that. Paintjob is the worst of the line. Articulation seems to be good so that's nice.

So hear me out or whatever, this is going to probably be a long post but yeah, I really wonder what the fuck is going on with Medicos, like how exactly are they even making money at this point?

I'm admittedly no business expert, but from what I gather, Medicos' revenue is based on selling bulk produce to shops such as Amiami who then sell it to consumers. This means that once the goods and money has changed hands, that's it in terms of revenue. So even if Amiami continue to sell of their stock, Medicos aren't making a penny more than the moment they sold off the stock to the shop in question.

So when months go by and Medicos don't release a new product, they aren't actually making revenue at all. Like zero. How are they staying afloat? Are they basically bleeding money at this point? (Ok they releases Gyro recently but like, that was such a small number, surely not enough to make your numbers even for a month)

I wonder if Medicos are in a tight spot where they have no product to sell, but can't afford to make anything more. For new products that requires new molds etc, and even for older re-releases it requires costs in raw materials. So they can't make any new products because they can't afford to, so they have nothing to sell. Because they have nothing to sell, they can't make money to create more products, all the while they are bleeding money because they have to pay overheads (facilities, salaries, etc).

They are some kind of Shroedinger's company, neither alive nor dead at this point.

Looking at getting a Joutarou and Star Platinum. I like the looks of the Green SP and the black Jo but I see there are a few different ver. Is it just accessories that makes them different or are there versions that have QC issues I should look out for?

If you want a black Jotaro then you should look for "1.5" for the standard headsculpt we see across the releases for Part 3. Avoid 1st since the head on that is pretty medicore.

Generally the variants you see like "2nd, 3rd" WF, Limited Edition, color ver." are recolors packaged with an additional soundplate or sometimes pieces that add to a current SAS like WF Killer Queen which has the Kosaku (black hair) head and used SHA hand or WF Crazy Diamond packing a smiling Josuke head for Josuke 1st. Otherwise certain releases like The World 3rd Sand ver. and Star Platinum 3rd is purely a recolor.

Star Platinum 1st or the "green SP" your referring to is generally a solid release and the one I have currently is holding up with no issues that I have found.

To add, in terms of QC, the biggest variant release with issues is Dio Black ver. which comes with yellow punching effects but the figure itself has a chance of either bad paint apps or terrible joints that can snap easier than others. Also specific reissues have fixed older problems on original releases such as Old Joseph's hip setup so his legs won't snap or Josuke 1st's neck joint being resized I think. The only tradeoff on some reissues is you get the new skin shading which is lighter than the original SAS shading. It looks okay but I always get bothered by reissue Part 4 Jotaro's face looking bad in bright shots.

Kind of, SAS take up a majority of my collection and I really got sucked into the recolor strategy since some look really good to phenomenal. However stock must've took a dive since I last lurked some 2nd hand sites, Mandy had a fair number of pages dedicated to it but there was a point where there was only a couple left to check for available SAS and prices hiked a bit on some releases now due to popularity or demand. Now releases have slowed down so much that I hardly collect this line unless I have more room to finish each part.

The black ones are bunko, smaller editions that contain more chapters, sort of a pocket release, the purple ones are tanko, the regular release, a bit bigger and contains a bit less of story than the bunko.

I own a couple of jap volumes and they're cool to have, but since you can't read them, having every single one doesn't seem like a great idea. Unless you can read nip, that is.
Oh, mind you, the bunko covers are not as neat as the tanko covers, with the exception of SBR, both editions have good covers, but the bunko isn't complete yet.

Usually takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks for stuff to reach me in Tennessee from Japan via SAL. Can sometimes take longer than that. I'd give it a couple weeks and periodically check the tracking. It should update once it reaches the states. Once it enters the States, you're looking at anywhere between 3-5 days to reach your front door, assuming nothing abnormal causes a delay.

It's not that hard to custom sculpt a couple belt buckles and take the head from some other figure to to use as a base. The rest of the figure is exactly the same.
