I sold pretty much all my NECA stuff as well. Had shitloads of stuff. Preds, Aliens, Terminator, PacRim, etc.

Only things I really regret selling are the Predators. Most of the other lines, I really only had the newer stuff, but the Predators I had been collecting for years.

Sad, but I agree. NECA are the only ones doing properties that I like. They do a decent job of it too. They're sculpts are top notch and the paint ain't shabby either, except for when it flakes off. I really hate the plastic they use for most of their figs though. It's really gummy and too pliable for my tastes. No idea why they like to use it for really thin/straight pieces either, they always end up warped out of the package. The plastic they used for the gun on the Raynor figure is very nice. They should use that all the time, but I'm sure it's cost prohibitive.

On an unrelated note, pic related is probably my most disappointing figure purchase of the year. I don't hate him it's just the same old song as with every neca figure. Shitty articulation, shitty plastic, mushy like all the rest. Just a lot of little things they could do to not make the figure feel so basic. For starters the pistol and knife could have been detachable from the gun and I really wish the dome head could swivel (even if they're not supposed to in the source material really don't care).

They really need some innovation on their basic ass elbow and knee articulation schemes they use

I finished that the other day and was shocked how good it was unlike most alien comics. Probably because it was a oneshot or 3 issue mini. My only complaints was the xeno looks more like a queen than the toy represents and Jones isnt on the art after a few issues

And there's nothing mushy about the figure at all. It's very well detailed and i dont see any soft details anywhere.

Besides needing better knees, my only complaint the gun is weakly painted. It looks like plastic. Completely matte like rubber and not at all metallic looking, because they did not apply the metallic dry brush enough. It's like something out of the Gundam plamo thread.

You want to compare plastic types and consider soft plastics as being mushy? Go look at McFarlane's figures from the 90s and 00s. ALL of McFarlane's plastic was always super detailed, especially in his McStatue phase in the mid-00s and they were hyper-detailed as fuck while being rubbery.

This is not true at all. Go look at all the little circles on his armor and they're clearly defined, especially the smaller ones. The only thing that makes anything look soft is the paint apps, but as i mentioned before, the gun is the weakest aspect of the toy and you're trying to claim that's of higher quality.

Maybe it's accurate to the heroes of the storm version, but it's absolutely disgusting.jpg that the trigger/handle are horribly compressed on the figure to the point where you can't even get him posed with him holding it in the proper position, you have to have him hold it by the foregrip to get a pose that looks decent.

But like you said, the rest of the figure is on fucking point, but the gun is total shite.

Well I've done more research since, the neomorph neca used is based on the actual suited version, which would work better for neca as the bulk of their designs are based on guys in suits.

If the neomorph's practical suit design didn't have the kissy lips and the dry brush effect I'd like it more as the general sculpt is fine and it is technically accurate (the dry brush effect in question means when I look close I see real pale plastic under whitish paint which is the bad kinda sickly look I was talking about).

So in short now that I know more about the design its more a preference thing, if neca does a resurrection newborn some justice however I might search for a cheap neomorph just so they can go together

Sorry I didn't see your response, its not the size that's the issue (its perfect) its just the white brush effect over pale plastic that bothers me (should of just been solid painted plastic or even skipped the paint) and the head which is based on the suit design, I liked the cgi model better but even I know that ain't gonna happen.

Really another head with the mouth more closed but not looking like a butthole would of worked for me, same for the "eyes" how they look like they've been removed but here I just see a smooth face.

I'm just nit picking really, if a resurrection newborn comes out and looks amazing I'll track down a neo just so they can be play mates, because least the newborn (if done right) is revolting enough to help other figures around him and in a good way that caters to my (in all honesty) autism

Got my series 12 in! Nothing crazy exciting, but it is nice to have these specific versions of the characrers.

The blast effects for either figure have unique plugs (sculpted to accommodate the rifle with straps, and the other sculpted without a strap notch), so there's no confusing what goes with which. I know people make dumb jokes about them, but they're welcomed additions.

Had no issues with moving joints, etc. Good shit. I bet Vasquez will get bought up by customizers.

I've always been in favor of everyone having their own personal head canons. For example, I like to pretend the AVP series is it's own separate universe, the original Alien universe ended after Aliens, whereas there's ANOTHER universe which continued after and Prometheus and Covenant are prequels to the universe where Alien 3 and Resurrection take place. makes it easier for you to not get offended by shitty movies taking place in the same universe as the movies you like.

I do the same thing with SW. Original trilogy exists within it's own universe, whereas the VHS rereleases are in a separate universe with the prequels and sequels.

I like to think that canon exists but that doesn't mean you have to respect every single film entry. I mean, technically the Burton Batfilms are canon with Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, but no one parades those films together that way.

I tend to look at it on a chronological release basis and creator's intent. Like, was this sequel kept in mind when the first movie was made?
