No, only Garo I've seen past few days was this shop stuff and the shf preorder.
Is this a fucking joke?
3 seconds of digital coloring got an actual figure.
At least it was a plot point for more than one episode
Did anyone ever try to headswap this guy with G3X?
It does look scaled to the SHF Ultraman, so must be smaller than the Ultra-Act one (assuming the old one was scaled to the UA, and that this new SHF ones are indeed SHF size).
It probably took that long for the enemies to come out because they were working on this new scale. Can't wait for Baltan
Also I want some Hayata and Moroboshi in their uniforms...
Still though, he looks shorter than he should be compared to 'Man, unless he's also bending a bit himself.
>Also I want some Hayata and Moroboshi in their uniforms...
>with Figuarts face technology(tm)
Take my money.jpg
They're both solid figures, really. They're also not going to increase on the aftermarket (Agito's shelfwarming, Mach isn't that popular).
Do you want a jobbing amerifat with a cool design or a moeblob first?
>Dude looks fairly short though?
Which is strange because in the original series he was 60m and in Max he was 66m but X is only 45m tall. He's definitely taller than 'Man and Max, though.
Part of me was hoping that Zetton and Baltan were just the Ultra-Act molds and would scale with that line but I guess that was just delusion.
>tfw Bandai decides to not be lazy when you wanted them to be lazy
I don't care much about scale, but I don't want him to be noticeably smaller either. I'm hoping I'm wrong about Zetton's head height being smaller than Ultraman's.
That said, I hope this gives Bandai an excuse to reissue Eleking, Gomora, and the other Baltan under the S.H. Figuarts line.
I know that's supaidaman but it could work as a spider kaijin too. A samurai rider Vs Ninja spider would match wonderfully, especially since spider kaijins are the first thing some riders face.
>bought DX Dekaranger Robo off of mandarake
>it arrives today
>this is what comes out
Is this a bootleg or something? Did I get screwed over? The listing made no mention of it being full red chrome
Yeah that's either a bootleg that somehow found its way onto Mandarake, or it's one of the most exclusive prize figures there's every been.
Does it actually function like a usual DX figure would?
It does function exactly like the original DX Dekaranger robo. It has all the LED lights, not like the American delta squad megazord that had some of them removed. Even comes with the manual, stickers and the cardboard pieces.
It's what I'm gonna end up doing. This hobby is killing me.
Fucking Bandai. Who would seriously buy such a trash of a set.
just bought this durian lockseed loose for 5 bucks and i wanna know was it suppose to come with the bravo belt plate?
Well this was random. http://p-bandai.jp/gashadepa/item-1000100555/
Just to let you know if you plan on buying it in the future, the one that comes with the plate looks like this. I believe Acorn also came together with it and the plate as well.
Yeah it came out to 9,881 yen. The shipping was only 1200 yen to ship to Canada, excluding the 900 yen import deposit. That seems pretty cheap for a dvd that comes with the break gunner.
This will come with a break gunner right, also why does this ship internationally while most things on Amazon Japan doesn't?
This is pretty cute.
Beside that. And well, tumblr.
There are several chapters more apparently.
I don't even want to think how many of these will be used as masturbatory aids.
No idea why they made this, really
"The recently revealed Super Sentai Artisan Dino Buckler has just had it’s order page updated by Premium Bandai!
Now listed in official images is the previously mentioned Tyrannosaurs Dino Crystal! It’s a small update to an already impressive package, but a welcome one. As a nice bonus item that has never seen release in the US, the Dino Crystal helps set apart the Dino Buckler from the Bandai America Legacy Morpher just a little bit more.
The Premium Bandai exclusive Super Sentai Artisan Dino Buckler will be released in march 2016 for 4860 yen!"
Not toy related, but recently made this. If anyone is interested.
So you took this image removed the text and flipped the image. Hope you didn't strain yourself with all that effort!
The Ryuki survive that comes with the new survive set isn't any different than the one they originally released, right? I've been meaning to grab survive and this is as good of a time as any.
A 2nd hand store near me has like 20 nib gimmick Wizard figures. I have no idea what happened, but they're pretty nice for $10
Got my GC01 Ghost figure. I do love these things, good balance of gimmick, articulation and quality.
Also I like they made the mask detachable so you can move the head a little.
Kind of hoping they will go back and do pre-OOO Riders in this style and quality...maybe with another Decade like series.
So what's the verdict on which Ishinomori Hero Ghost's design is an homage of? Because Riders from W had some design inspirations (Drive was Zubat, Baron looked like Arashi, Wizard was Goranger, etc) placed in on purpose.
>the last two
Kuuga was nowhere near easy to find, which led to him being re-issued ridiculously fast due to Bandai realising how much he was going for on the aftermarket and how much money they were missing by not making more.
Agito was pretty easy to find though, as he didn't sell nearly as well.
Decade will more than likely be another Kuuga, due to him being a fan favourite character. I hate myself everyday for having a terrible body and being stuck inside a hospital when he went up.
Set up a Figinstock anon. That's how I got my Kuuga pre-order, the thing just went up again at random on HLJ a couple weeks before it came out. Same thing happened with the rest and it'll happen with Decade too.
Does the Faiz on the left look like the head is too round?
Agito was, yes. And yeah I was confusing the re-release Kuuga.
I'm kind of surprised people liking Decade after all the shit it got for its design, color, etc. I liked it but not its final form.
Disappointed they didn't push Kiva forward, since it's somewhat topical because of Ghost...? Make some weird collaboration Bandai.
Forgot he looked like this guy
Considering the last time GSC did anything Kamen Rider related, they had to find a loop hole and license an American adaptation instead of the actual show, I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon.
They were actually pretty decent. They gave the legs that extra range of hip motion necessary for Riders because Riders by way of rubber underpants.
But yeah Bandai still went crazy on quality and accessories when they got around to it.
Very likely that it wouldn't happen from GSC, but yeah I wouldn't mind some of the riders in chibi form.
A lot of the Showa ones might just look bizarre in that style, Stronger in particular come to mind, but dammit if chibi Amazon wouldn't be the most adorable thing ever.
They don't beat the Figuarts in terms of, well, anything, but they're inexpensive alternatives for the budget-conscious.
The Figuarts are a real treat, especially Ryuki himself and Abyss (if he counts), but a good number of them are hard to find at decent prices since most of them were exclusives.
whats the cheapest shipping option for the US? on Mandrake
SAL. It'll take two to four weeks to arrive. EMS is usually better though unless it's a really heavy order though, it's like $5 or so more than RSAL but comes usually the same week you order it.
If you want exact grams for the thing you're ordering, HLJ usually has them listed. Add like 100 or 200 grams onto your final total for the box(Depending on your item size) and newspapers for protection.
Oh, I forgot to mention, if you're not in the US or Canada it's my understanding that EMS really probably isn't the best option unless you have money to burn. Some folks were saying it's like €11 or something more than SAL on top of your customs fees.
Expect to pay around ￥2800ish EMS for that kind of an order. Drivers by themselves are around ￥1600-1800. They'll stick all of it in one box though, they won't do separate boxes unless you want to pay more for shipping.
hey Moose, thanks for helping out with my shipping questions.
Is there anything out there for Aqua besides the Kamen Rider World figurine?
Even if he is a movie Rider, he still feels like one of the more neglected ones out there.
There's an SIC Aqua statue that was shown off earlier this year.
Puns aside, I think he and Poseidon just didn't really make that much of a splash. Aqua himself seems to get a lot of hate from the fandom too. But we just Figuarts of Kiva-La and Rider 3, and we have a Rider 4 protoype too, which tells me Bandai seems to be dipping into movie Riders to draw out the line further, so I wouldn't count him out just yet.
The Poseidon statue looks great.
Really hope Rider 3 did well enough to put out 4, that suit is excellent.
I hope Rider 3 did well too, not just because of that but because it's probably one of the most solid Figuarts I've picked up this year. Feels really nice and sturdy, with no big, obvious gaps in the sculpt. Even the pull-down hips look better than they usually do, since they're pretty well hidden by the suit design. My only issue is that the blue parts aren't actually weathered like the real suit and that the tiny chains can't really be posed, but that's kind of to be expected given the material and their size making that impractical as fuck.
4 wasn't at the most recent event, but neither were a whole bunch of things they showed last year and clearly intend to make.
wish they were a little more transparent with the process.
To fit in with other Figuarts in both scale and engineering.
Why would they care to do that? Because they assume the reason people weren't buying Ultra-Acts is because they weren't true Figuarts, I guess.
>Because they assume the reason people weren't buying Ultra-Acts is because they weren't true Figuarts, I guess.
It's more like the fact that the Ultra Brothers sell like hotcakes, and Bandai now has a reason to sell them again + they share similar body types.
The Ultra-acts are constantly reissued, so they aren't poorly selling or anything.
My problem with the Ultra Act line is the plastic feels cheap, it feels like I'm fiddling around with an American figure, and I just really cant stand it. Not that American figures are bad, it just feels like I'm playing around with a slightly more advanced Marvel Legend with Figuart style joints.
The scale also turned me off from the line since I mainly collect Figuarts, but this is just more of a personal bias.
Most complaints I hear about Ultra-Acts are ones that are applicable to the 1.0 figures. People complain about shitty QC and don't realize they have the old version and slap that criticism onto the entire line.
Unfortunately, there are some releases with wonky QC. Not so much with plastic quality, but things like joint tightness.
Most releases are fine, though. But for dudes like Man, Bandai should really not fuck up the QC. Last reissue batch had an issue with a loose joint or two, and overly tight Timer.
>Choose DHL since it's 200 cheaper than EMS to check out the speed
>Picked up on the second
>Delivered to me today, on the third
Holy shit, that's pretty damn crazy. Plus, DHL has been cheaper or the same price as ems for every package I've used. I wish I knew it was this fast.
Also, Rider 3 arrived. Pretty fun figure.
Plastic difference wise, I think what people are noticing is, Ultra-Act is harder and lighter, and Figuarts is softer and heavier feeling. So the lower density feel make you think lower quality?
And scaling was all about matching to the long dead Sofubi size, so Ultra-Act being slightly bigger than SHF does nothing but hinder sales.
>Look up video reviews for Proto-Drive
>Find one from a channel called Review DX
>It's just K2eizo's video with his logo cut out and at lower quality
... why would you steal someone's toy reviews of all things?
Yeah, but very few in number. Plus I think they do monsters that are suppose to be bigger? At least some are. Not saying they are to scale to the 500 series but I feel like most of the selection for DX should be towering over the Ultras
Pretty sure that's not okay. My mailman told me that he has to actually see me sign for my packages or he can't leave them(The ones that require a signature) when I made a sign with my signature as well as printed name once.
Forgot to make sense with this photo
What do you guys prefer, in terms of cheaper Ultraman toys? The sofubi-esque Ultra Hero 500 toys or the Ultra Eggs?
I'm considering starting a collection of eggs myself, on top of what kaiju toys I already have. Their gimmick appeals to me for reasons I can't explain.
Only problem is they don't have eggs of all the characters I want. I'd buy an X egg in a heartbeat if they started producing them again.
The eggs are actually really neat. The Ultramen all pretty much transform the same way, but the kaiju all have their own unique transformations (though some also use the Ultraman one).
I bought a bunch back when HLJ was doing a massive sale of them and i really enjoy the ones i got.
So what is #3's henshformation pose?
I just go with this one. He always does it before his transformation, but he never really does a set pose afterward.
I know next to nothing about karate bugmen, but I picked up renewal kuuga a while and ended up really liking him. I like how kabuto looks and want to get him too, but he's expensive as fuck now and never seems to show up on mandarake. Have I completely missed the boat or do they do reissues for that kind of stuff?
Congrats on the Kuuga, that's a great choice for a first figure.
The Kabuto comes from the same subline as the new Kuuga, hence why he also looks so good, but he came out a few years ago and was very popular, so yeah he's a pretty rare find these days.
If it interests you though the ss shf of Agito, a figure with similar engineering to the Kuuga and is pic related, is still in stock brand new at Amiami, so he's really easy to find right now.
You wanted more Ranger Keys, right?
Would someone be kind enough to post an image of Drive [type Speed] with Mashin Chaser's hands?
I'm curious, in terms of a visual, to see if it could Drive a more "feral" look. I know there is the lack of red (or hand guards, for that matter) -- I'm more concerned about hand size scale.
Drive! Type Gills!
How likely do you guys think it is that Bluefin will get US distribution rights for the Drive SHFs? I'm willing to wait if it means I can get them for cheaper later. I mean, it paid off for me with Gaim, I'm hoping lightning strikes twice.
I'm also worried about Shodo Vs. It along with Shodo Neo DB stuff makes for a really cool sub line. DB got a second series out of nowhere so hopefully it is similar with VS. I'd guess that maybe Shadow Moon would be the villain of the second series. So much potential in the line to do not only lots of riders and some major villains but also vehicles, or other large things to scale. Hope they don't give up on it.
Another worrier here. Bandai has been doing so fucking good with candy toys lately (66Action, Shodo VS, Assault Kingdom, Converge, Build Model, Hagen no Zista, etc) that I've just been waiting and dreading the day when the bubble bursts. It's like...too much goodness at once, y'know? I feel like it's not sustainable. Once the dust settles, I really hope they at least keep 66Action and Assault Kingdom. Those are my two favorite running lines right now. Shodo VS is actually really cool in-hand. Converge...eh, I like the styling, but they're tiny and almost unposeable. I could do without.
>And classic kaijin like bazooka turtle too
This is what I really want out of the line. Exposure for one-off villains and side characters. I mean, if Bazooka Turtle ever gets a SHF, guaranteed it'll be like a 7k web exclusive or some shit. Shodo VS could be a good platform for cheap little 1/18 figures of these types of characters.
Don't forget the Robot Action? the Sentai Robo assembled and painted action figure one. I wish they do more than the current Robos.
I don't think you need to worry about bubble bursting. Candy toys were just as big back in the 90s when I was living in Japan, and it never seem to have gone away. And now the convenience stores are so abundant there are no shortage of places to sell them
I should be more specific. I know the bubble will never burst on candy toys as a whole, I've been collecting them since the early 90s myself. What I mean is that there is an ebb and flow in quality and concepts in the candy toy world, and right now both are at peak levels IMO. Bandai is trying really, really fucking hard at the moment, and that's what I'm worried will go south. I've seen it happen before...dry spells of ugly, dumb candy toys that feel like they were just shat out for a quick profit. How much longer can this beautiful dream last?
These were really cheap I think, I hope they're not fucked up
Just got my Horse orphnoch and kamen rider 3 in from mandarake. These are really cool. Horse has some hindered articulation due to the sculpt, but he looks really great. I also really enjoy the color green/teal they used on the rider.
Ah I getchya. I think I can live without super articulated, made of 30+ pieces figures, if they keep making stuff like Ultra Borg and Zista. Simple and fun. And parts don't fall off of it when handling. I want to see some SD G-Arms like toys like that...
What Kamen Rider enemies do we have figuarts for other than Overlord Baron, Brain, and Hearto-sama?
Both Nazca Dopants
Claydoll, Terror, and Smilodon Dopants (though these were Figuarts Zero releases, meaning they were pretty much just statues)
N Daguva Zeba
Scorpio, Libra, Virgo, and Leo Zodiarts (I think Sagittarius was also made, but not in his final form)
Phoenix and Medusa Phantoms
All of the Greeed, including both Dinosaur Greeed and both of Ankh's forms
There are also several villain Riders who saw releases (Delta, Orga, Psyga, G Den-O, Yuuki, Gaoh, White Wizard, and the Shocker Riders, to name a few)
N Daguva Zeba, Horse Orphnoch, Scorpion Zodiarts, Sagittarius Zodiarts, Virgo Zodiarts, Leo Zodiarts, Uva, Kazari, Mezool, Ankh, Gamel, Clay Doll Dopant, Nazca Dopant, Red Nazca Dopant, Weather Dopant.
There's probably a whole bunch more but I can't remember all of them.
Going through the checklists here it seems like most of them were exclusives. This is by no means a full, comprehensive list mind you.
R Nazca Dopant
Kamen Rider Eternal
Super Apollo Geist
Several Ryuki Riders, namely Ouja, and Abyss
I think a few Phantoms
Shocker Grunts in several varieties
Gaim Energy Riders(Sigurd, Malika, Duke)
Ryugen Hell Fruit
Kamen Rider Orga
Kamen Rider 3 if you wanna get technical
Same for Mashin Chaser
Shocker Rider The First Ver.
Fuwa Juzo, figuarts from Super Sentai Shinkenger. He's really freakin' awesome, one of My absolute favorite figuarts.
Shinkenger is off the walls weaboo, but worth watching. It's the only sentai I've watched.
Shinkenger sold me from the beginning with just how devoted it was to its theme. The transformation sequences are probably my favorite in all of Sentai, since with the Kuroko running around and the big, showy banners everywhere it's almost always a spectacle.
I really wish the other demons got made as figuarts. Especially Dayu, the geisha demon.
"Metal" doesn't even begin to describe that pic.
If they come out alright I'm definitely getting Latoratah and Gatakiriba. They're so good looking
>Saw Project BM! Fourze on Mandarake one day
>"Oh, that looks neat, i'll get that come payday. It'll be my first BM figure."
>Search for it today
>Come to this thread and see people are talking about Project BM
You should have just ordered it, you don't have to pay immediately.
Elek states looks really nice and shiny. I don't like Fourze as much as OOO so I'll probably never get Cosmic either.
>Two Favortie Riders are Kiva and Hibiki
>Favorite toy line dies before making them
These things are the cutest little things in the world and I would love to have at least a full Heisei set, if not a full set, of main Riders
After seeing Apple Baron I still hope for the remote chance of Lemon Duke
Are you an idiot?
i have to ask. so the ghost driver, is usually what 50-60 dollars (Without shipping) online?
Its about 80 bucks on amazon (without shipping)
So i've noticed that I'll usually be charged between 17-23 dollars for shipping if I use HLJ, Mandrake, or CSTOYS.
would getting it for 80 on amazon for free shipping be worth it?
Or should I wait just alittle more?
I dont think I'll ever find a good deal like 23 bucks for my Drive Driver again
My suggestion would be to wait a couple months from now until the first major upgrade for Ghost(The red visor sword thing). We're just barely two months into the show, the thing is going to be around for the entire series, so a price drop is to be assumed at some point. Keep in mind that even during the Gaim craze the Sengoku Driver went down to around ￥4000 at times, though it was rare to drop that low for the most part.
If you can't wait, then the $80 is around what you'd be paying for the Driver + shipping EMS anyway. If you go SAL it would be like $10 cheaper and better to go for that if that's the case, assuming you want it right now for as cheap as possible.
yeah i think I can wait, but still. i'm really digging it. and also, in most cases in the past, the longer I waited, the more expensive the driver would be.
I remember a few months into W, the driver was 200 bucks on ebay.
>I remember a few months into W, the driver was 200 bucks on ebay.
Well, keep in mind that both W and OOO are kind of outliers. Their drivers and toys sold like absolute hotcakes and it was impossible to find them for any decent price until the Super Best reprints. Hell, when I got into KR around the middle of Fourze, DX OOO medal sets were going for $40-60 each, the Driver for OOO was $140 starting, and the toys that had medals with them were $80 and up.
Personally I don't think Ghost is going to go that high, and I didn't expect Drive to drop to the low prices it did either. With the toys they don't seem like they'll hit the appeal that Gaim did for example.
Did they just fucked up the color or is it because of the lighting?
It's not as big a difference as #3 was, but it's definitely a deeper blue than the actual suit. I blame the lighting.
I'm also worried about that face. It kind of feels like Meteor all over again.
