LAST THREAD >>5235908

see the in-package photos of the new Captain America and Spider-man waves
http://marveltoynews.com/2016-marvel-legends-packaged-figures-photos-revealed/
>>
>>5250370
Thise figures look like repackaged shit. The captain america one literally looks like they took excess stock of the winter soldier ML figures, slapped a new capwolf head in there, and sent it out as a fucking new figure. This shits gotta end.
>>
>>5250375
>The captain america one literally looks like they took excess stock of the winter soldier ML figures, slapped a new capwolf head in there,

So you don't know what you're talking about. Sick
>>
I'm gonna risk the possibility of being insulted and say I don't mind the Jack o'Lantern figure, he's one I'll most likely pick up
>>
Are there any recent MLs that have combat boots with visible laces like the WWE figures?

>>5250375
I'm newer than you to ML and I can tell you know jackshit about what you're saying.

>>5250453
He's pretty cool. Don't know why people complain about the head.
>>
>>5250496
Off the top of my head, the winter soldier / AOU captain america has laces. The sculpting isn't terribly defined, though.
>>
>>5250453
Yeah, I definitely plan on getting him. Agent Venom needs someone to be posed fighting.

I love all the Spider-man figures. Except for Morbius. Don't care about him at all. And I don't care about the Absorbing man at all either, so I'll just order them all loose.
Still need at least Ben from the previous wave, though Ghost Rider or Superior Venom would be nice as well.
Also, speaking of the Rhino wave, I work at walmart in Canada and have not even seen it anywhere in BC yet. If you live near Abbotsford British Columbia, we just got another full shipment of the hobgoblin wave at the older walmart. Please come buy them so we can order the next wave.

Is 22 dollars for an ML a good price?
The only Chameleon with a good paintjob I've seen is at that price. Consider that they all have to be imported where I live, though the normal retail price is about 15 dollars.
>>
>>5252176
They retail $20 everywhere I've seen in the US so yeah that's not too bad.
>>
>>5252176
That's a good price. In muslim countries like Pakistan or the UK the price would be way more, so you're coming away with a good deal for having it imported in.
>>
>>5251890
Oh believe me, he's the only one I really cared about at first, but I'm trying not to buy the whole wave. I love symbiotes, and kind of wanted a Ghost rider, and I love symbiotes too. And the Chameleon body would be fun to play with and Kraven would be a good villain to have for Spidey/Kaine and then I might as well get White Tiger because then I can finish Rhino.
As someone who's trying to save money and definitely wants the entire Absorbing man wave (except the build a figure and Morbius), it's frustrating that they all look so good.

worth it?
>>
>>5252930
>extremely hindered hips
>ab crunch unbefitting of a spider-person
>sketchy ankles

She looks nice, but man, if posing is your thing you're gonna have a bad time.
>>
>>5252930
Yeah she's alright.
If you're willing to half the balljoints on her legs then you can get her in my acrobatic poses and due to them being a softer material they can just pop back on.

Be careful of the ankles, though. While mine has no problems, a friend of mine's her he ankle snap off and my Anya Spider-Girl has some troubles with one of her ankles.
>>
>>5253165
None of the figures on that body that own (or have owned) had ankle problems. But I boil and flex every Hasbro figure I buy.

I did recently take a dremel to Ultimate Spider-Woman and was able to gain another 1 degree of motion in all directions from the ab joint. Could have been better design, though.
>>
>>5253226
Yeah the ab joint on the figure is the weakest part by far of that figure.

And it seems like the ankles are an uncommon but possible problem. Even when I shaved down the joint and run it under hot water my Anya's ankles still give me problems.
>>
How is Blizzard for a first impression of the line?
He'll be my first ML but I'm buying it for custom fodder.
>>
>>5253527
Blizzard is literally as plain of a figure as you're going to get. It uses the regular size body they have been using for years and for many figures. It's got paint for all the details and fists. The head is also going to be painted details. I like the body myself, and their head sculpts on characters like this are usually good. I'd grab it, but buy it from amazon for like 16.
>>
>>5253532
Thanks.

At least for $200 you'll have a creepy little Stan Lee that you can pose doing weird stuff. That's way more useful than 90% of the shit "us" (re: just the wife) married people buy, in my opinion.

>dat spidergwen
>that head looking like shit tho

really neat looking figure, pretty excited for it. I'm kind of thinking of getting some more SHIELD ladies but I dunno if i wanna double dip for Sharon and Mockingtits. Think one will be more popular than the other? Maybe even waiting on them hoping for a sale?

Speaking of which..is there anything going on? I haven't been following the thread in a while but I want to get Ben..but I still haven't seen him anywhere. really, I haven't seen ANYTHING new except for a few of the Hulkbuster wave guys here and there. Are stores gonna get them in? I figured they would already have them out for the holiday season
>>
>>5256409
Maybe that costume change Spider-Man/Peter Parker figure from way back in the SMC days? Or I guess you could arm swap movie series Sandman? You also got Legendary Riders Wolverine, but he's short and has an X belt, so... yeah. The LCBH Savage Dragon has a casual lower half with jeans and sneakers, so that could be a good launching point to combining other stuff. The 1/12 scale isn't exactly well known for making people in normal attire for some reason.
>>
>>5255127
That's a smart Hulk and that's a sweet find. He's greasy af tho. How are the joints?
>>
>>5256409

Rasslin figures maybe.

Though they tend to be too tall
>>
>>5256426

Total speculation, I would be Mockingbird is more popular.

She "looks cooler" and she is on Agents of Shield (though MCU version not comic version.

Sharon Carter is in Cap2 but I didn't even know who she was until it was mentioned after watching the movie a few times.
>>
>>5256409
Black Series Finn. He's a black guy in a jacket.
>>
>>5256454
Joints are pretty well off. He has like zero QC issues, which is really nice. Knees are a little lose, but other than that no issues at all.

Not my photo btw, just a random pic from google/ebay.
>>
So TRU sent out a 20% off Spider-Man toys coupon in an email blast and I decided to go ahead and get Scarlet Spider just so that I could get the Rhino pieces and the extra Spidey hands for Black Ant. As it happens, they also had Kraven and Superior Venom. I needed the BAF pieces for all three, but could only get one today, so I got Venom thinking that it's harder to find. I should have price checked the parts on eBay first though. It came out to $13 and change.
Did I do good? I don't even really want Superior Venom.
>>
>>5256654

Did you mess with the figure at all?

I had literally zero interest in Superior Venom but after getting him I think he's probably my second favorite of the wave behind Kraven (mostly because I just like Kraven in general).

I looked into his story and apparently he is Doc Ock as Spiderman as Venom or something, which kind of adds points since Doc Ock is my favorite Spiderman villain.
>>
>>5256654
He's probably my least favorite use of the body, but his baf part is by far the biggest pain in the ass to get. Even if you just wanted the arm, you did alright.

I'd love it if they made a new Ock proper. He was my second favorite Spidey villain right after Rhino when I was a kid, but this figure is so far removed from Ock that I can't get any enjoyment from it as a character toy. It's literally three characters rolled into one.
>>5256695
I think it's my least favorite use of the body too. I've already got Pizza Man and 2099, and I love both of those. I just don't get why they made the head so tall and narrow, or why the tendrils are not posable and their base is glued in, or the dumb design with the webbing (which I know is not Hasbro's fault).

Maybe I'll put it on the BST for $10.

I'm still not prepared to judge it based on cellphone camera snapshots. I hate going down that rabbit hole, and it tends to make these threads that much worse when we do. It could be worse than what we're seeing, or it could be better. As it is it's not looking good, but we'll see with promo shots and then production model reviews.
>>
>>5258587
True. I'm hoping that they're still working on the sculpt, and that it looks worse in the photo than in person. I just really want a good Black Widow for my import Avengers and it's looking underwhelming.

It's weird that every once in a while we just have to get a turd. The one that comes to mind is figma Indiana Jones. We saw the prototype and assumed it was bad lighting or the angle of the photo. Surely they wouldn't actually release something that, at first glance, looked THAT bad.

hell yeah man I want her, not for my shelf just because she has amazing articulation.
>>
>>5258623
She looks great with the rest of the gang, but I'm a filthy mixer of Legends&Selects. I don't see why Natasha can't be taller than Carol. Thundra is already much taller than Strange, and those are both Legends. Anyway, the only weird articulation is the inclusion of diagonal cut joints on her upper thighs. But at least they don't hinder the sculpt.

Select always does a pretty good job with their modern movie stuff, I think it exclusively goes through Gentle Giant so go figure. It's just hard to get into Select because, aside from the really great movie figures, their comic stuff is always erring on the side of skippable with a few gems thrown in here and there. Like maybe 1/5 of their comic stuff is even worth considering, and that's looking at it in the context of their huge ramp-up of articulation in the last few years.

Some heads won't look right on some bodies because of where the neck peg is set. On some it's very high into the head, and others it's low, so you can end up with some funky looking necks.

The way Black Widow's head sits on Spider-Woman's neck is fine, it's just that the entire head is too big for the body.
>>
Is it common for independent toy stores to mark up the popular MLs?
I keep seeing Pizza Spiderman and War Machine for 30 dollars.
>>
>>5260269
yep, they want a bit of the scalper gold as well
>>
>>5259596
Go to michaels, hobby lobby, etc.
Go to the jewelry making department
Pick out a chain you want (Roughly $2-$3)
Find their thin gauge metal wire (Roughly $2-$3)
Be sure to use their 40 (Sometimes 50!) % off coupon.

When you get home, weave some of the wire through the chain one link at a time. Maybe about 6-8 inches. You'll then have a semi-articulated chain that you can have him pose with. Wrap the rest of the chain around his body. You've spent probably about 5 bucks making him a neat accessory. You can even go further and buy some paint and so a fading heat effect on the chain, so maybe like 8 bucks total.

as long as it isnt unreasonably priced and i like the shop/owner then i dont mind. but if you just have to be a complete jew about it then big companies are the way to go. i was at walgreens the other day and literally everyone of their legends figures was $12.99 but i didnt see anything good so meh

I mostly pick up what I think is the best-looking or definitive version of each character, and for me that means Select 1st Avenger Cap, Select AoU BW, Select the Wolverine... And I cannot think of a Select comic version that I actually want. Maybe Thanos?
>>
>>5260269
I don't mind paying an extra $5 if it's a figure I really want, and I usually have a bit of store credit, which helps, but I won't pay "scalper" fees, which I usually feel is +$10 or more.

I cannot suggest the Select Ultron enough.
I fucking love him and it's my favorite iteration of Ultron in figure form.

His legs are a tad loose, though. But despite the movie coming out, he still goes for about retail depending on where you get him.
>>
What is a cheap ML that comes with a lot of hands? And, does Superior Spiderman use the same buck as Pizza Spiderman?
>>
>>5260859
I've found some figures at kmart on rare occasion. Its where I grabbed black cat/carnage last year. Honestly, the one in my area was the only place before target came about, and then it's quality went way down. It's also sort of old and dirty looking. Hasn't changed inside in many many years.
>>
>>5260897
Pizza-man and scarlet spider come with the same set of hands, three pairs in total, and the white iron fist from the odin wave came with four if I'm remembering correctly. His are a bit oversized, though.
>>
>>5260860
Shit, I forgot I also have Disney Store Thor. He's pretty great. I think I prefer my Thor to be a little prettier, but this one was definitely the best figure I could find at retail, atm. And a great example of a Select "comic" figure that's better than the movie counterpart.
>>
>>5260863
I looked at him at the local shop a time or two, before they sold out of him. If I see him again I'll grab him. I have around 25 Marvel figures and he'd be my first bad guy.
>>
>>5260898
>old and dirty looking. Hasn't changed inside in many many years.
That's the Kmart here too. It's like they are perpetually doing inventory. And the toy aisles are always a wasteland of Jakks Pacific BMX figres and three-year-old Monster High dolls.
>>

>>5260859
I still go to K-Mart around here because it's the closest nearby store and it seems like it's similar to your guys'. I once saw a bird flying through it and the toy aisle still has the peg warming figures from the Ultimate Goblin wave.

The latest wave they got in was the Guardians wave and that was quite a bit ago.

Alright, well I've got him and I like him. I might get the Select some time, but I'm pretty happy with the figuarts.
>>
>>5266911

I never said he wasn't worth buying. He's great, he just can't touch his fists together. The tradeoff being that he can do a whole fuckload of things a lot of other Hulks can't

The head is just on a ball peg. Its really easy to take it off with a spoon, just pops right off with little force.

Once you reattach the head it sits higher and looks much better. You even get a bit of up and down movement. Definitely recommend doing it. Heres a pic of mine

What's the best punisher available? Is there any upcoming punisher figure?
>>
>>5267080
There are a bunch, but none of them stand out as great. I like the way the most recent ROML Frank head looks on the old Face Off/Shield agent body. If you're looking for a classic look and don't plan on doing much with it beyond display, the white/black ROML itself should be fine.
>>
>>5267080
None of them are great enough to track down. I'm personally holding out for a new one on the Grim Reaper body mold.
>>
>>5267086
>>5267088
Thanks anons, ROTML punisher is pretty expensive and I don't want the red skull variant... so I think I will just wait for a better one
>>
>>5267025
Have you ever been to the Neca General? Fucking hell it's in every post.
>>
Does anyone know how Walgreens distributions works ot if they will "check the back"?

I have picked up all but Strange over the course of months at my local WG and not seen them anywhere else. Based on what I have seen come and go they would be on their second case of these.

Thanks! That looks about the right size.
I was looking at the OCC Comanche chopper.. If GR fits that 1:10, he should work fine on the other.

Are all MLs this bad or it's just the Bucky Cap mold what sucks balls?
I bought this sad bastard and it's a fucking nightmare to get a decent pose out of it.

I still want Ghost Rider and Chameleon but if they are going to be anyhting like this guy then I pass.

as much maligned as it is for it's reuse and roided proportions, buckycap is still one of the best in the line as far as posability goes. If you don't like him, the others aren't going to impress you.

Oh, well.
Are the Spideys good at least? Blizzard feels hollow as fuck.
>>
>>5267741

It's a near-perfect mold with the most common complaint being that the hips should have a better range of movement
>>
>>5267764
The Spiderman one, right?

He's better in some ways and worse in others. shoulders are way better because of the extra joint, and the hips are inexplicably worse. My biggest gripe is the weak ab crunch, but he's fine overall. Like I said though, if you were disappointed in blizzard I don't see you being thrilled about the rest of the line.
>>
>>5267785
I really wanted those two guys and a Spiderman but if I'm not going to enjoy them there's no point.
Maybe I'm just spoiled by the Thinker figma. That thing is a beast.

Thanks, man.
