Best place to get wizard gear at a good price? Found a Dragotimer for 800 yen, but the only places I can find the other stuff (Wizsword gun, AxCalibur, Driver) is ebay for stupidly high prices or not having all the form rings (Fire, water, hurricane, land and the dragon forms) which I can't find all of and don't know how to get.

For rings go to Amazon. They are no more than $14(Some are as low as $6) and you get free shipping if it's designated in the description of the purchase. They don't seem to be up on Mandarake usually anymore, but they were around ￥800 when they were, though it was usually just the numbered sets, never the other sets.
AxCalibur is expensive in general because Infinity was only in like one Candy Toy set right near the end of the show, but you can usually find it for about $60. Amazon Japan has it for ￥5600 right now, but middleman fees and shipping you need to factor into that.
Wizsword Gun is tough to find on most other sites for a decent price, but again, Amazon Japan has it for around ￥5900.
The main belt is always going for around $65-75 on both Japanese and English sites, so just go via Amazon unless you feel like paying middleman fees and shipping for whatever reason.
White Wizard belt is only about $30 everywhere, so if you don't want to pay $70 it's a pretty good alternative, and comes with Change and Explosion.
Dragotimer is cheap because it's shit. You can't hear any of the sounds and it basically has the Genesis Driver grinding for the whole thing.

If Amazon.com(Not Amazon.co.jp) isn't an option, then you're probably stuck having to middleman it.

If you don't mind used, eBay has some DX belts with their respective rings for about $35, but it seems ring sets are way too expensive on there in comparison to Amazon. There's also Yahoo Japan Auctions.

I think it is because the amount of things it does right and the amount of things it does not so right are very 50/50.

Ghosts are cool because they are ghosts and do ghost stuff.

I've been checking Mandy for a while since I do want the belt. I've only seen the numbered ring sets for ￥400-800, and it's usually only one or two of them up, never the Dragon sets or the movie sets. The one time I saw a Dragon set it was Flame Dragon for ￥1500, and the one time I saw a movie set was the Taisen one for ￥3000. Swordgun and Driver I've never seen under ￥5000, Axcalibur I've only seen it loose without the ring for ￥3200, White Wizard Driver is like $2 less than it is on Amazon but you have to factor in the shipping fees. I have seen Plamonsters constantly though as low as ￥500.

He can try his luck if he's patient, but at least for the rings he'd be better off just ordering them via Amazon if he actually wants anything other than basic spells.

Sentai is still interpreted by Bandai as a little kids show. The adult market isn't there to justify the expense of making a higher end action figure. Imagine giving your SHF to a 5 year old, just how long would it last? I believe that's why they moved the high end sentai stuff to their premium line. It's there for adult collectors and they don't have to make a ton of them to turn profit, cauuse adults are stupid and don't mind spending big bucks for 4" figure almost completely devoid of die-cast. AFAIK, that was just a prototype and there has been no word about whether it will go into production or if it was just a display piece.

Belt extenders are only about $20 or so, and if you want custom belt extenders there's a bunch on eBay for each Driver for like $30 at most. The only trouble is when you go before I think it was either Kabuto or Den-O, then you have to jury rig it to fit.

The photos all only show the basic muffler, and there isn't one listed in the accessory count either so it looks like he just has the one. Other than that he just has a jump effect for his belt(pic related), and a Rider Kick effect.

So I'm predicting SHF Ghosts and Specters will have rubber/soft plastic coats. It feels like just molding the coat to the body and adding joints wouldn't work. Maybe they'll pull another Drive and release the base figure in its default form and release the other forms as separate coats/heads. I figure the midseason and the final forms will have new bodies, but everything else uses the same base.

Legs go fully forward and to the side, double joint knee, ball joint ankle, and usually a joint for the toes. Hips used to be drop down but aren't anymore, some people like it and some people don't.

Keep in mind that Bandai's diversified the fuck out of the Figuarts line this last year with stuff like Mario, Star Wars, Kinnikuman, Marvel, and even Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A company can only produce so many different products in a year, and only has so much manpower to work on them all, it's only natural we'd start seeing a little less of the toku stuff.

They were kinda running low on back catalogue Riders anyways. Most of the popular Riders have been made and the only shows that really are lacking in figures aren't popular sellers. Sentai seems to have tanked and Metal heroes seems to be chugging along. Makes sense that they finally have to expand the line beyond Toku.

Yeah, pretty much this. Rider only really has J, Kiva, and Ghost left to have a complete set of main Riders, and all that leaves is secondaries and movie Riders, the latter of which seems to be getting a recent push with Kiva-La, Rider 3, and even Rider 4 getting figures. Metal Heroes does well enough to get a few releases a year, and the fact that Winspector is getting a retail release after the last few have all been online exclusives says a lot about Bandai's faith in that line I think. With Sentai pretty much dead in the water after years of underperforming though, that pretty much just leaves some assorted niche toku series like Garo and maybe some classic Ishinomori shows that haven't been touched yet.

When is the next bandai event? All I want to see is the next SS they are releasing.

If the next one isn't kiva I swear bandai is just trolling us.

Shinkoucchou Seihou Hibiki was pretty much one of the best SHF Bandai put out last year. He's gorgeous, comes with a lot of nice accessories, and he shelfwarmed harder than any other figure in the line which was terrible but good for you since he still comes pretty cheap if you can find him. Also Kamen Rider Stronger. It's just a figure with a neat design, not a lot of accessories but he does come with an awesome electric punch effect piece.

If you're in the mood for Sentai you can also try and get Akarenger and Vul Eagle. They were the last two retail release Sentai Figuarts, almost a year ago. Both come with some cool accessories and have pretty awesome designs in general.

Shinkoucchou Seihou Kuuga is one of the best Figuarts I own, it's a beautiful figure. But it was also massively in demand and sold out constantly so it's harder to find for a decent price.

The Gaim Figuarts were all pretty good too, no complaints for any of the retail ones. I'm partial to Zangetsu but some complain that the white color of the body doesn't match the suit from the show. As for Drive that line is all around pretty great, though Mashin Chaser and Type Speed come with the bare minimum for accessories unless you got the preorder bonuses so try and get those ones for cheap.

What gave you that impression? Kabuto sold like hot cakes, at least at brick and mortar level. Like, if you weren't there to pick him up Saturday morning on release there was no way you were getting him. I remember despair at almost not getting one, then finding the last one buried among other new releases. Kuuga was even harder to get.

Hibiki and Agito were difficult on the weekend of release, but have stayed on shelves since then after shops put out another batch. I'm surprised Agito didn't sell out, but I'm assuming Bandai churned out a lot more than Kabuto at the very least.

Even in used conditions, he was at least 4000y~ while he was out. Kuuga on the other hand can drop 50% in used condition.

That said, Kabuto wasn't too hard to get. Though, at the time when he was sold out on .ca (not sure about .com, maybe it sold out before .ca?), he was going for a bit above MSRP on Japan's side.
