I only own these.
I bought myself Digimon Cyber Sleuth to play on a couple of long-haul flights I was on this month. It's great. Kinda makes me wanna buy a Digivice. I used to collect Tamagotchis, but never Digimon. What are the best/most recent ones?
>tfw didn't get 15th Digivice or D-3 but want these
Are there any good 1/12 school girl figures (preferably figma) with winter outfits, like coats and jackets and stuff?
shameless self-bump

This is a slow board anon, you don't need to do that.
Am I wrong for offering my tiny gashapons to trade shfiguarts and Figma figures?
Depends on how many and how rare. Obviously a troll thread. But seeing how high some gashapon go for especially videogame themed ones. Tis a scalpers dream
>>5721812
>Am I wrong
I mean, what kind of dumb question is this. Some people do make unequal trades, it happens. So what.
Now, if someone says "I want ____ for this figure", where _____ is a dollar amount, or a specific item, and you offer gashapons instead, depending on the circumstance someone could think you were a chucklefuck.
Hope this helps.
If someone denies the trade, then you were wrong. If they accept it, then you were right.
1/6 action figures question.
Do stock photos usually represent an accurate depiction of what you're getting? Is the figure usually that realistic in person?
Picrelated. The one on the right is likely a bootleg (ebay hong kong seller) but I've never bought an expensive 1/6 before so I guess I'm worried that what you get in-person might look more like the right photo.
I'm thinking about buying the new 1/6 Ripley shipping out later this year but I don't want to spend $240 if it's not going to look like the stock photos.
>>5721351
It depends on the complexity of the toy.
Mostly they differ in the end. Since the stockphotos are prototypes, from original companies or the thing copied.
If something is complexer the looking or paint job differs. Not necessarily, but mostly.
A lot about how good the figures look like depends on the photography.
Of course photos made in a well lit studio by a pro look different than some photo taken by a phone in shitty light.
I'm also sure the one on the right is a bootleg.
I have a few 1/6 myself and some of them look out of the box pretty normal, as soon as I start taking pictures of them they "work" way better.
The MGS Hot Toys were pretty good (heh), but they are also older releases and Hot Toys are better nowadays.
If you are unsure about an already released figure just look for reviews.
Here's one of a pretty new HT for example:
http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW-060616a.htm
And here's one of The Boss and Naked: http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_012014b.htm
Posing them is a bit of a pain in the ass because of the suits.
Naked is also the better looking of the two.

This guy's videos are animated well enough, but am I the only one who finds them bland? Seems to be a common thread with stop-motion animators when Transformers are involved.
Those little guys are collectibles in the new DOOM game, and I really dig the design. Do you think there's a chance for them to actually be produced considering there's already a line of Doom merch for Funko Pop?

For those unfamiliar, "Plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model." If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.

So anons, how often do you dust your figures/displays? Just went through and did some clean up work myself, and I'm curious as to how often you all go through the process.
I keep them in the box so they dont get dusty
I only dust them when I play with or re-arrange my displays, which only happens twice a year maybe.

I'm a newfag to this board who's been lurking around admiring some of the cool shit that pops up around here from time to time.
What are some of the most popular or high quality toy brands or genres that people get into (at least on this board)?
What type of toys are easiest for people to get into?
General rules/etiquette that are followed? (Besides the hot glue meme)
There's a hell of a lot of diversity when it comes to what gets posted around here and I'm not familiar with the culture. Just curious.
>>5720533
>Easiest
Lego.
>Highest quality
Hot Toys, Arcadia/Yamato, various Bandai lines.
>>5720533
Funko Pops are garbage, you can collect them, but don't ever mention having them
>What are some of the most popular or high quality toy brands or genres that people get into (at least on this board)?
Figma, S.H. Figuarts, Transformers/unofficial third party, Revoltech/Vulcanlog, Nendoroid, Super Action Statues, Robot Damashii, Super Robot Chogokin, Ultra-act 2.0 (for Ultraman), S.H. Monsterarts, Cu-poche, etc etc.
Other Western shit includes like Marvel Legends or LEGO.
Basically, most people here collect animushit, robotshit, and/or tokushit.
>What type of toys are easiest for people to get into?
Most of what's listed, except maybe Ultra-act and Monsterarts because many are discontinued/expensive on the aftermarket. Third party Transformers are also pretty steep.
>General rules/etiquette that are followed?
1. Don't be a faggot, respect others opinions, don't talk shit you don't know about, etc
2. Do your own research first before asking questions, seriously.
3. Ignore the obvious shitposters, report and ignore.
4. Invest in Shock Oil lubricant (for tight joints), fine sandpaper, and acrylic clear polish (for loose joints). You'll need it.
Also, just buy whatever you like. I don't know why some people here buy things for /toy/ credit.
