for those things that you can't help but wonder why the fuck they're so expensive.
this isn't for shit like Chogokins that STARTED Expensive and are obviously ALWAYS going to be expensive. this is for stuff that might have been at tops $50-ish at retail, but are suddenly way the fuck too expensive for their own good.
Anything from the 80s
The new anniversary digivices.
I really want one, but there's no way they are worth what people are paying.
>>5786158
There's no way they're worth what Bandai was charging. $100 for a toy that's slightly modified from the original version. Really?
hey guys
does anyone know where can I find instructions/fanforums for those awesome minibuild loading screens for each planet?
>>5785825
If you're going to find it anywhere, check a LEGO forum. No one on here is creative enough to do it.
>>5785833
was hoping for a link, but thanks anyway, I'll keep digging
>tfw the only figure of a character you love is a hideous monstrosity
it still burns me that this is the only hotline figure that will ever exist
>>5785761
...Mate were you asleep under a rock when they released the Biker figure?
>>5785761
I mean its not THAT bad, the fact that its over priced is the real tragedy. even the additional masks you can buy for it are 3x the price of the original game
>>5785958
It actually IS that bad, at least in my book. I had more than enough money to afford this, but couldn't justify it due to the fact that it looks like absolute shit.
- Clothes fit very poorly, it looks more like a college kid's shitty Jacket cosplay assembled at Goodwill
- Poor selection of fabric, leading to hyper-oversized grain on jeans. Companies like ThreeA learned to circumvent this look with better materials.
- Shitty weapons. The sword was bending even in the promo images, the shotgun looks cheap and lacking in detail, and the bat looks straight-up bizarre--why does it get all thin by the grip?
- Cheap, shitty base body with ugly hands
- Lazy, sloppy sculpting--the masks are such an iconic part of Hotline, and these look mushy and decidedly amateurish. I don't really like Erick Scarecrow's sculpts in general, but he really shit the bed here.
I figured I'd need to replace the body with a Hot Toys TT (another $50-ish) and even then, the head and clothes and weapons still looked like shit, so that basically left me with nothing. Highly disappointing. I would have paid even more than they asked if they'd pulled it off well, but for this piece of shit? Nah.
Not OP btw, just a random passerby who hated the fuck out of this toy.
I know that a lot of 1/6 scale toys often get bought and parted out on ebay, but is the same common of ThreeA's stuff?
I want the Imago Loop (pistol) that's going to be coming out with two of their three Destiny Hunters but also do not want to spend $190+ on them.
Any options available would be appreciated. If I buy the Warlock, I'm considering offering the Thorn that it comes with to someone for an Imago Loop, but I also don't know where I'd go for that. Kind of out of touch with social toy spaces of late.
When are the actaul release dates for those figures? It just says that
They are taking preorders.
>>5786068
ThreeA's actual release dates are nebulous. It's just how they work. Even the times when they do announce a concrete date, it often gets delayed because they have a bad habit of taking on too many projects at once and biting off more than they can chew. So basically, you lay down your money, and the toy will arrive at some point in the future. It's kinda annoying, but they are at least a legit operation, you don't have to worry they'll take your money and run or something.
>>5785334
Hey Suri, long time no see! Yes, ThreeA figures do get parted out, but it's not as common as other 1/6 stuff, and it's kind of a crapshoot whether the figure you want will. And when it does happen, desirable parts like weapons tend to go fast. Your best bets are to join the ThreeA BST on Facebook, as well as the KidRobot forums (look for the 3A BST thread there). Put a post on both asking if anyone is parting out the figure, and if they'll sell you the Imago Loop. Past that, wait for the figure to be released and set a lot of alerts on eBay as well as checking both the aforementioned BSTs daily. Good luck!
>>5785334
Yes, ThreeA constantly gets parted out. Dunno if it'll happen with the Destiny stuff as I think it'll be worth more as a single unit. But ThreeA's community has a decent amount of customizers that buy parts or sell parts. I used to buy full figures for a couple pieces I wanted and parted out the rest. Usually made my money back. :)
We hit bump limit.
