So, after negotiating back and forth for weeks I'll be getting the complete first wave of BW 10th anniversary (Cheetor, Rhinox, Waspinator, Dinobot, Rattrap, Tarantulas and the buildable Transmutate that comes with them, all MIB) plus an assorted loose Polar Claw, all for 65 euros next friday (about 76 USD).

What am I in for, /tfg/? I know Dinobot suffers from heavy GPS, is he still displayable in dino mode or is it bad to the point where I should just leave him inside the box for eternity? Any important advice or just overall opinions on the other figures?

The Trypticon tail issue is probably dependant on the spring for the tail mechanism, it's stupidly tight, even more so than the one in the hips.

The annoying thing is you practically need to take Trypticon apart to take this spring out.
>>

Surely gluing that loose cross piece in place is all you need to do?

>Now that the 3p Figure of the Year has been decided, what do you guys think will make for good runner ups?

But thats not IF Shockwave, or Bruticus. Or the IF Seekers. Or the G1 MT Meteor. Or Poseidon. Or GT G2 Devy with MAXIMUM DRILL FISTO'S. Or...Etc.

Not doubting it's a great figure, but it's got a long line of stiff competition.
>>
>>6482417
I'm waiting on judging Bruticus until the reviews come in.

Bridge Watcher is great but not without issues like the way his legs fold in transformation or the stiff thigh swivels.

IF Seekers are also good but the tolerances are off just enough to bring it down a notch in my eyes.

Howling Meteor isn't out yet.

Was all of Poseidon released this year?

Remolds don't count, although Gravity Builder is best Devy so no doubt the G2 version will be great.

Maketoys is really pulling out all the stops between Cross Dimension and their two Meteors.

Frame Arms Group Build

This time the idea is to build any Frame Arms, or Frame Arms Girl kit, and paint and customize it.

The rules are overall pretty simple, the base must be recognizable as FA or FA Girl, other than that there's no limit on what you can do.

Due Date: September 1st

Note: This is a prize build, there will be a prize provided by me, there will also be a mystery prize provided by another anon. That means that to enter, I need WIP pictures submitted before the due date. Simply email me some pictures of you working on it, I don't care at what point, as long as it's possible to tell where your final product came from.

Prize Pack:
MSG Free Style Bazooka
MSG Impact Knuckle
MSG Beast Sword
MSG Assault Rifle #2
Miscellaneous supplies

I'm probably going to add more, but I'll let those be a secret.

Email: [email protected]

I'm also available via IRC and Steam

Hey /toy/, I recently bought these McFarlane guitar hero guitars and I must say I'm having a lot of fun posing toys around playing their instruments. Right now I'm looking for a cheap Drumset, but it's not easy to find. I've been looking at Ritsu Tainaka figures and there's some pretty cheap stuff on mandarake, like a banpresto kit and a mobip, I was wondering if anyone had these figures or any other and could tell me how big the drumset is, since I'd need it to be in scale mostly with Jojo SAS and Revoltech figures.
Also post more Music Instruments you can get for cheap!

TL;DR: Help me find a roughly 1:12 scale drum set

We all know one thing that's better than a robot is more robots, and additionally the one thing better than more robots is robots that combine into bigger robots.

So what are some best/coolest/funnest combiners out there? I was thinking about getting Sentinel's Dancouga, but the price, size, and fragility put me off. I prefer smaller and more play friendly combiners, but it's still really hard to beat that amazing look. Any suggestions or want to share a favorite?

>So what are some best/coolest/funnest combiners out there?
SOC Gaogaigar is my favorite. A majority (of Americans) seems to like SOC Golion/Voltron a lot so maybe look into that but IMO, it's pretty bland, all the individual forms are too similar and the combined mode is lazy as fuck not even offering an option to hide the lion legs and not even trying to fix the proportions. If "handling fun" is a factor, you should definitely drop the high end toys and go for the Transformers/3P option. Some of them are REALLY solid when combined and fun to transform. I don't like most of them because of how they look but I admit you can't beat them when it comes to playability. Also most of them have an individual robot mode which is nice.

>I was thinking about getting Sentinel's Dancouga but the price, size, and fragility put me off. I prefer smaller and more play friendly combiners
Smaller? STN Dancouga is really small already, and also pretty solid. Yes, I know, some people had some parts breaking on them and since people like to shit on expensive figures, the very few issue reports were blown out of proportions. The truth is some people did break theirs, like they would have broke any other figure, and that's it. It has nothing to do with widespread issues or fragility.
The price is a valid complaint though. Dancouga looks awesome when combined but not so much in individual forms plus the engineering, articulation aside, is fairly simple. The combination is almost non existant and it doesn't feature any particular gimmick. While I do like the figure for its glorious combined mode, I don't feel like it's worth the asking price. Maybe half what they asked for.

SOC Golion is actually more solid than any 3p combiner. The most solid and stable combiner I've ever come across. Great hand candy, on top of having better build and finish quality than most other SOCs. Any robot collector who doesn't at least handle one is missing out on something amazing.
