I have no idea, I guess easier to produce? I don't mind no joints sometimes, but the sculpts should at least be different. If you want to sacrifice sculpt, put that energy into something else (paint, articulation, etc.).

The casual toy market is probably the main money generator for the toy industry. The after market is big with scalpers and collectors buying multiples but the vinyl collectable market copy/pasting is the sort of uniform collectable that the market was asking for. Tbh over engineered figures with 68 points of articulation aren't that great. You pose it and leave it there, or you move it a couple of times and it's loose as your mother

This is one of the things I had to struggle with, particularly getting used to the idea of pre-ordering. I still hate it and still tend to want to overpay for released stuff just because I hate waiting. What I usually end up doing is lurking ebay real real hard until something falls through the cracks toward original release price.

To avoid hasbroshit I've stopped looking at toys when i'm in Walmart/Target and I try to avoid the threads here too.

Don't have that issue, but I am a pretty patient person.

You aren't starting out.
You have enough stuff at home to entertain you while waiting for a pre-order to be shipped, so why the rush?

Ask yourself why are you buying toys.
From your text it sounds like you enjoy hitting that buy button more than actually owning things.
Change that approach.
Then you need to start working towards "rather owning one pricey thing I really want versus lots of cheap shit I maybe want a little".
What's the point of owning 10 15$ pieces you don't really want if you could buy that one 150$ piece you really want?

I got two Rogue One troopers.

They have the Mafex beat overall but they're still not perfect. I would've liked them to be a bit taller, and the elbow bend is rather disappointing.

Reviews are in. Mafex has destroyed Figuarts once again.

How can they recover?

So this is pretty straightforward, build something that isn't Gundam. I literally do not care what it is, if it's not Gundam it counts (and just to get this out of the way, Bandai is fine). I do not require full paint jobs this time either, as I know the vast majority of people here build Bandai and that's it.

Don't know about these specifically, but if they're anything like other Stan Winston figures then they have really good sculpts but very limited articulation.

I have Lucian. The other Anon is pretty spot on about the sculpts and articulation. Would be great if they were more poseable, because it really is nicely detailed and has a nice solid heft to it. Can't really do too much with no elbow or knee articulation.

The ebay prices for these are pretty high and I'm surprised they sell for that much. Seem to recall they were expensive when on the shelf at TRU around 2001-2002.

Still they are nice and if I could find better prices on some now I'd buy them with no regrets.

I have three of them, the uh, ahem, "cute ones" I wanted.

I actually ran into packaged versions of them at a Vintage Stock one year. It was Elias, Vorak, Zephyr and Raze. I don't think they know what they had, because they had them "used" for $15 each.

So I bought them, sold Elias to a friend for cost (which I miiiiildly regretted and ended up eBaying him loose and complete much later), kept Zephyr, and sold off Vorak and Raze because, hey. I then got lucky and won Lucian for a good price a while after I got Elias.

I'll take some pics of the three I have once I get home from work today.
