>Is an airbrush really worth the $2-300? I'm just getting into painting, and don't know if I'm going to be doing anything like weathering or even serious amounts of painting, and it really just doesn't seem to be worth the investment. Is it really that much better than hand painting with a brush?

$300 is a good estimate of the cost of the airbrush, compressor, paints, mixing tools, cleaning tools, respirator, painting tools (masking, holding, etc), and maybe even a booth.

it's worth it if you want to enjoy airbrushing. It's not necessary if you want to enjoy an MD or FAG. It can maximize your enjoyment of a gundam.

pick up airbrushing if you want to pick up airbrushing. not because you want to pick up gundam/models/whatever.

Why does my LZ-129 Hindenburg model come without nazi swastikas, /toy/?
5 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>6222269
Not true.
Swastikas, the nazi type, are not forbidden in a historical context (i.e. like a documentary or a history book) or certain “art“ (like movies, theater, satire).
Videogames or Manga (see: Hellsing) for example do not count.
As long as it's used to teach, to research, to educate in non-glorifying way it's all good.
I am not sure right now how the rules are on miniatures or “toys“, but I doubt they are allowed there.

Germans are high on keeping up their past and educating about it, the “no swastika“ rule is to make sure people can't use it in a positive light (like on flags or other neo-nazi merch) or to deny what happened.
The NSDAP is forbidden, so their “logo“ is of course too.
In school you learn a lot about Nazi Germany and there are constantly WW2 documentaries running on certain TV channels.
>>
>>6222268
Revell is a German company, doubt they will make little swastika stickers for their buyers.
>>
>>6222268
Because in Germany is illegal to sell merchandise with Nazi symbols.

Went to Dollar General the other day to look for some army men, saw a few $1 boxes of clone brand Legos, so I went back today and got two. One was on surprise clearance for 75 cents, so I might go back and get another one that comes with a minifig that's already marked on clearance later.

Anyway, on to the review! First off, the box art is laughable if you look at it for more than a few seconds. Just a bunch of clipart thrown together to vaguely resemble a room, and I would like to know if they have permission to use that picture of the girl and the animals that's hanging on the wall.

If you notice, on the Computer Desk box, the top left corner of the windowsill is cropped. It's not visible anywhere else on either box, which makes me wonder if they intentionally put the text there to cover it up.

Thanks to the magic of time-lapse, the pieces are already washed. Let's get these open and get shit sorted.

Bags are different texture; the vanity is brittle and tears easily, the computer desk is really goddamn resilient and coated in carcinogenic factory dust.

Proportions look better on the Sentinel one.
>>
>>6135251
>opinions

I personaly think the Sentinel one looks like garbage, both the proportions and excesive surface detail.
The aoshima is the most accurate, revoltech and kotobukiya kit are good stylizations that stay true to the design. SRC looks good too, and compared to this SOC might end up looking better proportion wise, like Daizyujin did.
>>
>>6135553
I didn't like the Sentinel either, mostly because of the excessive surface detail, nevermind the salty pricetag. The Aoshima just seemed like a great candidate for something that'd display well with the SoC Mazingers, but it'll be interesting to see how this one will fare.

Rhinox, Rattrap, Megs, Dinobot, Black Arachnia, Tarantulas, Waspinator. Not in that order, mind you. Just those are the ones that I feel deserve MP's. Also if I had it my way, Cheetor wouldn't have gotten any MP, because really, was he ANYONES favorite? I always saw him as annoying.

>mfw I've recently been buying Hot Toys which has cost me now over a grand in just 2 months
How can I get myself back to being interested in 6, 7 inch stuff?

Hot Toys offer the best accessories ever and I am a big fan of loose, cotton clothing so of course it is a big turn on but I need to take a break from spending so much.

Remind yourself you're buying dollies and that makes you a faggot. Then buy something cool, like robots or trucks that you can smash together.

Seriously, I don't know what to tell you. I think Hot Toys are fine, but I wouldn't be spending a grand in two months on them, since they don't appeal to me that much. If it's what you want and you CAN afford it, no reason to change. If you're going broke, well... stop being fucking stupid and putting yourself in debt for plastic.
>>
>>6215030
Hot Toys don't age well. The bodies are rubber and will eventually crack. Remind yourself that their longevity is poor and they won't make it to see your grandchildren.

You're so good with the recaps. Thank you for your work.

Can I get some recommendations for high fashion doll clothing? I'm so jealous of Sybarite and Fashion Royalty owners' clothing options. I guess it's to be expected since they're FASHION dolls first and foremost but I wish some of their clothing makers would make dresses for dolls from Unoa, for example.
>>
>>6170511
I love unoa and I'd really like to see one in high fashion clothes and shoes.

Regarding people's dolls looking messy or nice, I'd rather see 1-2 well styled and beautifully displayed dolls than a big jumble of ghetto styled dolls with wonky eyes, ratty wigs and low quality clothes just stuffed into a cheap book case. But that's just me. I will never have more dolls than I can display well maybe with just a few in a rotation and put away for a time. Otherwise, I'd need a whole doll room to actually do it nicely.
