If I remember correctly it had a ridiculous level of complexity. Like requiring lookup tables for the completion of simple tasks. Could be wrong though.

I could try and get another playtest together, just would have to convince people to play it.

I think the biggest issue we had with the system was trying to figure out the health system.

There was some in-depth analysis of how to balance skill checks, but when I ran a playtest we kept it fast and loose, so dunno if that's inherent in the system.

Didn't the degree of failure over the tests directly reduce Edge Points (which were like, HP but for all skill tests)?

Bumping out of optimism.

The google document with the rules needs a little work, mostly with races and equipment. This https://edgechronicles.titanpad.com/1? is the discussion link, which I think is a little more updated but a god deal rougher around the edges.

Actually, thinking I might tackle plants and alchemy.

Rather than having a billion different factors and variables, I was thinking each plant has one (maybe two) Function or Effect, though you could only choose one per plant.

For instance, Delberries might have have the Function (food), which means it can just be used as rations, but also the Effect (Restorative). Eating the berries isn't enough to heal, but making a paste and combining it with Barkmoss, which has the Function (Fibrous), means you can bind the paste to a wound.

Thoughts?
