It's a rogue team of terrorist employees, hiding somewhere in the GW building and releasing Slaanesh minis without letting the main developers know.

Don't believe the lies, with every Slaanesh mini you buy you support terrorists.

I mean, I play an army of AWI Redcoats rockin' the line infantry for days -- usually at least 70-80 handgunners -- and I don't really have issues with folks calling cheese. It wouldnt be THAT bad if you were just a fan boy, but on top of that, you cannot understand how bad this rule is (and its very obvious why it is bad for the game). You are a stain upon the gaming community and I hope your stupidity wont spread too much. At the very least, you must give very easy games as a novice bot to beginners.

I can get behind this. My little brother already has a hige collection of x-wing minis so I'm well versed in that. Was considerng getting a Thunder and Blood box for those pre-coloured minis but now they're actually releasing starter sets that have more than Khorne models I might wait it out - a Blightwar variant in the AU$90 region would be great (current set is >$250), especially if I can use the nurgle demons to start up a Death Guard list too.

Spiderfaggot again, with a few little updates to the rules courtesy of plebbit.

>Walk Into My Parlor
Added in something to hotfix out the same issue that comes up with counter-charges where the countercharge doesn't actually have anything to do with with the charge it's in response to. However, due to the restrictions on the target limit, the charge distance has been tweaked up.
>Entangling Webs
This one was too hot for plebbit to handle, mostly for its ability to shut down abilities that active on a 6+ hit roll, and I do now realize that it's probably about as powerful as some 1-time use artifacts. There are two places I could go with this, and I kind of favor the... weird one. The standard option is just to go with the standard "Subtract 1 from attacks against the general in the combat phase." The fun™ option is to leave it as it is, but have that ability require the sacrifice of the mount's attacks since it's too busy webbing up a foe.

Thoughts? Think I have the artifacts in a pretty good place.

They can't change aspect, but they are different between each others.

Their aspect depends on WHEN they were made by Slaanesh.

Older minis of daemonettes are just older deamonettes in the lore.

Easy solution if it's available to you. Play a one drop army. Choose to go second (my playgroup rarely can contest this). Initiative roll is irrelevant as they're never usually dumb enough to give me a double turn. And if I win the roll I pass the turn to them.

Buying a single Start Collecting is sufficient to begin any Escalation League. You take it at your own pace, and if people seem to be enjoying it, you begin to expand your collection. Yes, it is the best way to get people into a war-game. There's a reason they are so common. At the beginning, you're out, what... $85? If that is going to stop people from playing, they sure as shit aren't going to last for $400 or more. And the very nature of an Escalation League works wonders for weaseling people into buying new units they want to paint or play with, naturally growing a collection over whatever sort of timeframe you want to set up. A month at 500 points, maybe a bit more? Then just tease it up to 1000 and sit there for a month and a half. Just a few more miniatures make it to 1500. Good middle-group to sit at before the final push to 2000. And if you want to bleed them dry, 2500 for a massive conclusion.

But as shitty and bland as the setting is, getting them to play what I am sure will be an absolutely amazing and innovative boardgame focused around cards and hex-based movement and a revolutionary new RPG set in magical worlds with sights such as the Sigmarambulum in Sigmaron where Sigmar's forges create Sigmarite... might not be the best way to get people to want to spend $400 on the setting.

lol no. Slaanesh have plenty of space. The first GH was loaded with Slaanesh, there is plenty in the supplements and even the Seraphon battletome, where it's depicted as a "main antogonist" of some sort.

Except Tomb Kings players did not receive any space in the new books.
Which is unfortunate. I only lost a fraction of my stuff in the switch between games, I cannot imagine what Tomb Kings, Bretonnians and Slaaneshis must have felt.
We shouldn't be harsh on them.

Anyway, yes, I think the squatting of Slaanesh was a thing, but I think GW came back and made a change of plan.

It could have been just the fans, or the fact that Made to Order of Juan Diaz Daemonettes was an incredible success, or the fact that the main complain of 40k at the time was that Marines had nobody to shoot at (and Slaanesh being the perfect villain), or the new management. I'm not sure, but I think they came back on the decision and we'll see more Slaanesh in the future.

That's my guess

I played my army as Empire of Dust in Mantic for a while, but eventually just didn't want to carry around what was basically a scab. Sold 'em to a friend at the store for enough to get myself a Mantic dwarf army. Didn't really want to keep 2.5k+ points of an army whose creators basically spat in my face. And now I'm a Spiderfaggot. Which yes, the irony swapping from a discontinued legacy army to a marginally-continued legacy army isn't lost on me.

There's a bunch of stuff I like about the Realms, but for the most part I just find it boring or uninspired. Probably because it feels like a super hero setting with some kind of ongoing soap opera with a bunch of heroes caught up in silly drama.

a) really REALLY bitter about muh Karl Franz

His irritation is such that the quality of his bait is consistently awful, he's too angry to think straight.

He spent an entire thread trying to maintain that the entire Death Grand Alliance would be squatted, and failing miserably.

So, finally got my hands on a Celestial Hurricanum kit, now that the flgs guy is back from vacation, an now I can try to build a SCE version.

The main body is the planetarium from the kit, but obviously without the cart or the horses, which seemed unfitting for stormcast. Instead I put it on the trailing scrollwork from Prosecutors to make it look like it hovers above the battlefield. Same goes for the small stuff floating around on chains or more scrollwork, which are also meant to convey a bit of movement.
The guy on top is the equivalent of the celestial wizard on the actual Hurricanum. (He's not glued there yet, so please excuse the clamp and the pencil holding him up). I've posted him before, but now he has the book you guys recommended him to have.
Two Knigh-Heraldors are the basis for the Liberator guards, who will also present the bulk of the melee attacks. Not too happy with the shield arm on the left guy, I might have to replace that.

Opinions or ideas?

Slaves to Darkness are the best army in the game.
Why?
Once you have 40ish warriors, a warshrine, a sorcerer, 40ish mauraders... you have 5 armies.

Want those sweet destiny dice and skyfires? Add some skyfires and bam, you have a strong tzeentch army.

Nurgle is going to be the next hotness with new rules? Add a box of blight kings and bam, new army.

Just paint your warriors etc in a color that they can all use like black, silver, white and you have an army almost as versatile as stormkeks

Also you can add jabbersythes as allies and they are OH PEE

If there is already a friendly Tzaangor unit within 6" of the slain model's unit, add the Tzaangor to that unit, otherwise set it up as a new unit within 6" of the slain model unit."
In regards to rules, does adding a model to a preexisting unit count towards my total model cost? I read that creating a new unit does, but does adding count?

You know, a pair of Doom Diver Catapults and a Grot Shaman actually sounds like a delightful addition to my Spiderfang army. Still within the 400 point of allies for the homebrew Allegiance if I end up using it, and a pair of 50'' range shots with 3+ to hit -- and 4+ to redirect onto something else within 10" if they miss the primary target -- that wounds on 3+ with -1 Rend and 1d6 Damage sounds divine. Especially when one of them gets hit by the Sneaky Stabbin' to wound on 2+ with -2 Rend. And for 320 points, can't argue with the cost.

Yeah, Stormcasts are a neat concept thats been fucked up by GW handling.

Honestly, I can't believe I'm suggesting this, but GW could fix so much by releasing a new SCE model that plays on that aspect. Call them "The Hollow" or something, make em like Stormcast dreadnoughts.

Fair call. what's the best way to equip storm fiends?
>>
>>55424064
Gotcha, thanks.

And thanks to plebbit, been getting some more feedback in regards to the Spiderfang allegiance homebrew.

Biggest changes since the last time I posted >>55416342 (You) has been an overhaul to Embodiment of the Spider-God. The modified version that someone had suggested in the last thread has gone the way of the dodo with the reasonable discussion that once an Arachnarok is dead should be the easiest time to get them to flee. Went through a few different possibilities including giving them bubbles of a 1-3 or 1-4 along the lines of Dispossessed, but ultimately was convinced to just make the ability a good deal weaker and simply make it 8" bubbles of re-rolling battleshock.

And to go with the weakened Embodiment, it was suggested to put in a third trait to tie the package together nicely. I was halfway leaning towards a movement trait -- something along the lines of a 6" pile in, perhaps. And I was halfway leaning towards something to deal with terrain. So in the end, I went for both. There are two versions to this trait, though I was definitely leaning towards the on in the pdf. It's essentially an Assassin's ability to deploy inside of a unit except instead shunted into terrain. I could see this being potentially too much, and I'd be very willing for a limitation on this ability even if it's something as simple as just nixing the ability to seize control. The second version, I'll just post here.

>Infestation: Instead of setting up a SPIDERFANG unit on the battlefield, you can place it to one side and say that it is hiding. If you do so, secretly note down one terrain feature for all units to hide in. In your first movement phase, you must set up all infesting units within 6" of the terrain feature you picked and more than 9" from any enemy models. This is the unit's move for that movement phase.

Thoughts?

If I'm running a 10 man squad of Pink Horrors is there a catch for taking an Iridescent Horror, Iconbearer and Hornblower? Is it foolish to not take them? Are they mandatory?
>>

it's a drawback not to use them, no catch. I'd recommend you having the iconbearer be the iridescent horror. Since you want that one to be alive the longest and there's nothing that says you can't make the unit leader the icon bearer.
>>
>>55428528
No catch.

AoS is a game born for modelists (remember, AoS didn't have points at first).

We love to build the squad full optional, because they look cool, so the game doesn't make you pay for those.

This also assure that the "What you see is what you get" rule is basically omnipresent. Which is cool.

So, been toying with this list idea. Thinking of fluffing it out as a Sigmar force that goes deep into fighting Khorne forces and ends up tainted and possessed, mostly cus I wanna model some possesed Stormcast. The Chaos Lord on Daemonic Mount's trait is actually the +1 damage one that Khorne Daemons can take, as it (being Khorne Daemon and Mortal) can take from all the charts, thus giving him a 3 damage, -2 rend weapon that goes to 3 mortal wounds on sixes, which is pretty nice. Plus lets me play around with the fun Bloodstoker+Gorebeast chariot combo, and use the trait.

Would it surprise you to know that the designers of the original slayers work for Mantic? The majority of their staff are all old GW folks who parted ways with the company for various reasons and essentially wanted to make GW like it was back in the old day where love of the game took priority over love of profit.

I really do love their dwarf minis, along with with a great deal of the rest of their stuff. As far as KoW goes, I only play their dwarves -- fuck yeah, badger cavalry -- though I've got some Chaos Dwarves to expand on. And kikestarted the current edition of Warzone where I was given an absolutely ridiculous amount of grade A sci-fi minis for a comically small price.

Tony Ackland was one of the guys that made Chaos what it is.

There were other guys working with him, making sculpts, artworks and writing stuff.

GW hired them as part time workers.

Basically the dudes have some discussion which end up in a lawsuit between each others.
This is the time when GW discovers that, for british laws, part time workers, unlike full timers, keep the rights for what they produce.

This means GW actually owned basically nothing of the stuff they produced at the time, and they didn't notice until then.

Basically in extreme panic they fire everybody that worked parttime, even guys like Tony Ackland that were actually willing to sell the rights and continue working.

GW cancelled any project (Malal was one of them) and hired other sculptors to remake the stuff just substantially different to avoid any problem.

That's how Juan Diaz Daemonettes were born, among a lot of other stuff.

>There’s more! Firestorm comes with 10 new allegiance abilities representing the unique armies of the Great Cities and those who would tear them down. The Great Cities are the kingdoms of Order in the Mortal Realms, each home to a unique and varied collection of humans, elves, duardin and Stormcast Eternals. You may remember some of them from the Season of War campaign, such as the Greywater Fastness, others you may have already explored, like Hammerhal, while some are completely new, like Tempest’s Eye. The new allegiance abilities are designed to represent how these cities fight; the forces of the Phonecium, for instance, are inspired to fight harder by the deaths of their comrades, honouring the Ur-Phoenix, while the armies of Anvilgard crush their foes underfoot in relentless marches. We’ll be previewing some of these next week in detail – what’s more, these are usable in any of your games, not just Firestorm!

Here's anything you need in a pretty convenient bundle.

That was the first 20 models I ever painted anon. They're better now.

Oh shit GW what are you doing!

Mine have not gotten better!

Have you tried the fast paint method the anon suggested?
I'm kind of curious.

>10 new allegiance abilities representing the unique armies of the Great Cities
More allegiance abilities for Order. Wew. At least it's a good way to expand the setting and lore
>>
>>55432388
So, it's just Order then?
How freaking boring.

What is the role of a chariot in AOS? What's the best way to use them?

Fast-moving powerful melee.

Hey, that's pretty cool. I hope they do stuff like this for the other alliances.

Why so pessimistic, Anon? Good things comes to those who wait.

I think the real problems are the horsemen and marauders I currently have

They have no synergy with anything, and there are no battalions to support them. I like marauders and horsemen models and as units, but there isn't a way to make them strong.

Still, I am slightly tempted to swap my lord for a Darkoath Chieftain just so the points work out the same as before. Chieftains are real shitters though, and do basically nothing.

Maybe I will just embrace the slow melee list and try to have fun while losing.

They're solid distruptors and troubleshooters. They generally come in one of three flavors: shooty, punchy and (even more) mobile or a mix thereof. In addition, they are generally quite durable for their size and cost.
The Chaos Chariot is mobile and solid in melee. Nothing exceptional, don't expect it to brawl down a dragon or annihilate units, but good enough to make small groups of enemies sweat and threaten heroes.
The Gorebeast Chariot is pure melee. It's slow for a chariot, but it hurts a lot when it connects, so it's more of a linebreaker than anything.

Introducing the latest stormchamber, the Desolaters of Sigmar, these immortal warriors clad in lightning have one sole objective. To destroy and tear down everything.

They're beset against the mortal realms to purge the filth of chaos, wherever it may take root, even inside the grand cities of the mortal realms.

They are sigmar's holy purifiers and they judge these so called cities, these bastions of Chaos, dens of corruption, unworthy.

This September you'll be able to find their warscroll battalion rules inside Firestorm so you can lay waste to these corrupted cities and tear them down!

That kinda attitude actually makes me like the Stormcast more.

Have you tried this one?
It's 100 points, and with the Bloodsecrator and 40 men units (which is a multiple of 8), it could be very useful.
>>
>>55433850
I'll have to check that one out.

Certainly when I move up beyond 1000 points that will be very useful, a lot of extra power there. At its heart though it is still a slow melee list with no tricks.
>>
>>55433929
You should have chosen Slaanesh if you want some speed.
Or Tzeentch if you want tricks.
>>
>>55434020
At the time I started this army the tzeentch mortals weren't out, though I would have preferred undivided personally. Maybe this is a sign I should diversify.
