I play between Rated PG-13 and Rated R games.

That goes for both violence and sexual themes.

Kill a guy? Sure. Seduce a barmaid? Fade to black.

Rape a woman and cut off her head while you're fucking her into order to induce death spasms to make you cum?

Nah.

In most normal games?
Where the players engage in murder, torture or other actions of a similar degree of heinousness for either no apparent reason, or for a woefully inadequate reason.

I liked this series when it first came out, because for some reason I thought the character design looked pretty decent, but the more I read it the cornier and more childishly edgy it gets. Also the art and design isn't even that good compared to high quality seinen art.

I think I was just tricked by the lion girls' boobs.

As a GM:
Is it making the other players uncomfortable in a way they can't deal with as peers, or directly interfering with everyone else's ability to play the game? If so, you've gone too far. If not.. well, karma will out.
I'm not gonna "rocks fall" you, but I will make your actions have consequences. You've got a rep for giving to the poor? You might get free information from them, or help in an hour of need. Rape the barmaid? She's probably got cousins. Eventually, one or several of them will catch up to you. Murder all the prisoners you take? Eventually everyone winds up paralyzed or otherwise helpless... Likewise, you rob enough churches and the gods themselves might start interfering. Of course, the same goes for busting up cults or regicide.

At the same time, I'm not going to shit on the murder-happy Rogue, because this is the kind of game he clearly wants to play. He's just going to have to be very careful about his sleeping arrangements. Hell, some of my best games have involved "edgy" characters who were actually working at minimizing the consequences of their actions - at that point, it's an intellectual duel.

TL,DR: if it's something that is directly interfering with the >players<, or involves someone deliberately going beyond the limits we set at the beginning of the game, I'll intervene directly.
Otherwise, it's just part of us building the game world as we play, and I treat it as such.

Well when someone reduces themselves to 0.01 essence they're not exactly all there as it is, giving that someone a katana, a strict set of principals, very twitchy reflexes and the inability to tell a mugger running at you with a knife from someone trying to return your wallet can be difficult, messy, and a shootout with the cops waiting to happen.
