Aww yiss.

The basic summary is that we have 3 vampires who were created from a magic experiment gone wrong. This experiment destroyed the city that we started in. After some struggles we fought our way out of the city and led a group of refugees to salvation in the jungle. We have been there for several months and have established ourselves well. We have explored both directions on the river. To the northwest are a group vicious primitive demon worshipping lizardmen who are fond of sacrificing both humans and their own people to their god. In addition we have found primitive human villages on a coastal plain to the east. We have started an alliance with these people. There are tales of a group of halfmen that have been raiding their shores, looking for gold and worshipping a strange god, the also wield strange metal rod weapons that spew fire.

>>32880604
I think when we left off we were gonna train some of the villagers to ambush the lizardmen once they came for tributes.
>>
>>32880659
Yes that sounds about right
>>
>>32880701
Hopefully some other people get in here.
>>
>>32880777
Oh wow, a civ that went past one thread? What's going on in here?!

Also, it looks like we only have four vampires. That seems... dangerous.
>>
>>32880806
Turn half the population
>>
>>32880701
Last time we were here we decided to train and equip the human villagers, apparently their cluster of villages is called the Hattoras confederacy. We also should name our own town. With our men helping the Hattoras confederacy we will have our military advisers ambush the lizardmen when they come to collect their tribute at the end of each month. We also need to decide whether to send our expedition to scout the southern villages on foot or by boat, since our guide advised against taking our ship into the open water due to the halfmens fleet being there.

Also after we establishing the forward base against the lizardmen we have seen little movement and activity from them.

Whats our next move?
>>
>>32880823
Well, maybe not half, but we should get some sort of vampire apprenticeship going. Or dhampirs if we can.
>>
>>32880851
Start training more of our men and send some scouts on foot to the other villages. I have no idea what to name our village.
>>
>>32880851
also I should briefly break down some rules about vampires in my world. First of all they are immortal and need blood to survive. This is the trade off for immortality, superior strength, agility and intellect as well as limited regeneration. All vampires have some limited ability with blood magic and get stronger depending on their age with elder vampires being much more powerful than newly turned vampires. Also people can be fed upon without killing or turning them, which opens the possibility of creating a society of vampires and nonvampires, but vampires will always be limited by their need for blood, keeping their numbers low. Vampires also look like their base race, unless they haven't fed for a long time. Vampires also have some control over vampires they have recently turned and have night vision,
>>
>>32880823
Btw I'm kinda new to this whole civ thing so if someone could tell me if there is like a wiki or something thx
>>
>>32880862
I was thinking we could turn some lizardmen captives into vampires. If we manage to kill the demon some might be cooperative.
>>
>>32880909
It's really easy. You just say what you think the civ should do. Sometimes OP gives options and sometimes it's whatever you think is best.
>>
>>32880909
nope i basically make a world and you guys through choices and decisions guide our civ and characters through that world
>>
>>32880963
Yea for example the current question is open ended I try to mix up open ended solutions and structured ones for you guys
>>
>>32880963
>>32880983
Thx for the info and not being shitheads after hearing I'm new to something.
/tg/ really is the most polite board.
>>
>>32881015
It's the best way to get more players.
>>
>>32881038
And I thought you were just nice people.
>>
>>32880851
What it gonna be guys basically we have scouts to the south that have been advised to leave their boat and travel by foot by their local guide

A. Take the boat
B. Go by foot on land

and then
The lizardmen have been inactive and have not left the area around their city. Our forward base reports no activity there. Our resources are listed above.

The lizardmen worship demons and sacrifice people they capture they also attacked one of our hunting parties, we need to deal with this threat as the council guiding our people you need to decide a course of action based on our current military resources listed above. Currently our plan is to arm and train the human villages paying tribute to the lizards. What else can we do?
>>
>>32881111
B
>>
>>32881111
Train more of our own people. Prepare to an attack on the lizardmen shortly after the ambush.

And go on foot.
>>
>>32881215
>>32881159
Back at the base Rhas orders Talif to train the rest of our people into a militia force capable of holding our town while the real fighting men are away. This will free up some of our forces for offensive operations that would normally be used for defense

back in the south Orrik has the boat docked at a small human village and along with 3 guards and a local guide he makes his way down the coast. After at least 10 miles of green fields and rolling hills he finally makes it the burnt out remains of a human coastal village. He notices that there is very little left behind besides rubble, implying that the raiders probably looted everything of value. He rides to the nearest village and talks to some of the survivors of the raid who managed to kill one of the raiders. The raider was wearing armor plates made out of some sort of advanced metal and wielded a strange metal tube weapon in addition to a sword made out of the same material. He also had on a strange necklace with the symbol on it. We believe the symbol is religious in nature.

After seeing these things Orrik has the men board the boat and go back home with the strange plate and weapon in tow.

As Orrik boards the ship hes sees another one of our ships docking unloading a group of soldiers that will serve as military advisors to our new allies. While somewhat primitive these humans would make good allies and could contribute manpower to our army.
>>
>>32880806
>>32880823
>>32880851
>>32880862
Also its worth knowing if you guys havent read the old thread that most of our people do not know the true extent of what vampirism is, as far as they know it is just something that gives people supernatural strength and healing and our small group has only been maintained by a few volunteers that have given their blood for us to feed on. Originally Rhas used his superhuman strength and regeneration to take leadership of the cities survivors and lead them out. Our people deeply love our leader and feel indebted to him for saving them from a fate of starving in a destroyed city in the middle of a desert
>>
>>32881443
With the offensive now being planned we must think of how we will deal with the lizardmen threat.
They are scheduled to pick up their tribute in 1 week giving us time to move some of our forces around. We currently have a forward base with 25 men in it led by Haggo, while the town is defended by militia led by Talif, Then we have 20 men training and arming the human villagers. The tribute party from the lizards is usually a largely ceremonial affair with several of their high ranking figures leading a large honor guard of at least 50. We do not have any information about the strength of their home defenses besides that their population numbers in the hundreds and that the demon lives there. Our current troops position means we have an additional 25 men to distribute for the plan.

What should we do?
>>
>>32881614
Our options are to
A. Reinforce the ambush group
B. Reinforce the assault group
C. Reinforce our town
D. Other
>>
>>32881614
Move the 25 men to the village for the ambush. As soon as the ambush is done we'll have to head out to the forward base and prepare to attack. As long as we make sure no lizardmen escape we should have enough time.
>>
>>32881795
Rhas orders the men to reinforce the ambushing party. He takes Orrik and decides to lead the ambush team himself while Haggo runs the forward base and Talif holds our Town.

Rhas leaves with the troops and our 6 mages, who were selected for their magic talents and taught using old texts the basic skills of a different magic type.

We have a geomancer, hydromancer, aeromancer, pyromancer, necromancer, and a healer in addition we bring the extra 25 men. You have our troops train with the Hatteras villagers after our arrival and anxiously wait for the lizards to come. After 3 days pass they are finally sighed coming down the road. You have our men hide behind 2 small hills on either side of the road with a smaller blocking force waiting on the road behind the lizards, preventing their escape. As you hide you see a column of around 60 lizardmen in loose order carrying a platform with larger lizardmen sitting on it, this lizardmen appears to have dragon and demonlike qualities and is a good size bigger than the other lizardmen, they are followed by several lizards pulling empty wagons and cages on wheels ostensibly the tribute of slaves and food they are about to collect. As they pass, they fail to notice your force and you quietly draw your sword. You give the order to charge and your men come down on them from both sides of the hill, archers cutting down at least a dozen lizards before they can react. Upon seeing you, the larger lizard jumps from the platform and charges you. You brace yourself and focus on his blood slowly increasing the temperature until the lizards collapses, it is still writhing on the ground when you continue to raise its blood temprature until it starts bleeding out its mouth, nose and ears. The creature begins to make unnatural noises as it screams and grunts sounding like a demon, many of the fighters back away on both sides as you slowly approach keeping on the heat. As you step next to it you draw your sword and take its head.
>>
>>32882026
The lizards are fanatical and won't give up even as their leaders head is held up for all to see, they fight with renewed fury forcing our men to put every one of them down. Finally after almost an hour of bitter brutal fighting the last lizard is put down, you count around 60 enemy dead, while we lost a dozen men with another 3 not likely to make it. However you have the opportunity to use your abilities to turn them before they die giving them the restorative powers of being a vampire at the risk of creating potential rivals, however chances are your superior strength and their gratitude for saving them will win them over to our side. The 3 men are of ours plus 2 Hatteras militiamen.

lizardmen city.jpg
48KB, 1359x555px
>>32882071
The next step is deciding to turn/save the three injured men one of them being one of ours while the other 2 are militiamen from Hatteras.

We need to prepare for the assault on their city. With the militiamen of Hatteras providing us 30 men plus 50 of our own for the assault gives us 80 total. We have 3 riverboats that can carry 20 men each as well as a forward base a few miles down the river from their city.

How should we split our forces to attack the city also attached is the map of what we know. Its basically a large courtyard surounded by huts and stone houses along with a massive stone step pyramid with a large altar on top, this is where they make the blood sacrifices as well where we believe the demon lives.
>>
>>32882071
Turn them and start making our way to the forward base.
>>
>>32882171
Send about 20 of them to the forward base and have the rest go on the ship. The men on the ship will attack first and the men from the forward base will flank them.
>>
Still lurking and enjoying.
>>
>>32882218
>>32882182
You gather the survivors of the battle around you and explain to them what you are, you explain how you need blood to survive and that you will do whatever it takes to protect our people. You then proceed to cut your hand and fill 3 vials of your blood giving it to each of the mortally wounded men who after a few minutes, are able to get up and walk around. You then along with Orrik and the new vampires go to feed off the dead lizardmen, however you tell them to avoid the demonic mutant lizard, since demonic influence is the last thing we need right now.

The Hatteras militia are at first hostile but then awestruck when their 2 companions recover in minutes from what shouldve been a mortal wound.

You then tell them the plan to hit the lizards where they live sending our best men on the boats while the rest will flank around from the forward base.

The completely unaware as you have the ships slowly come to shore next to the city, using your night vision you and the other vampires on each boat easily guide them to shore undetected in the middle of the night. The lizard city seems to be asleep as you come within sight of their huts and temple. You have Haggo leading a slightly smaller force that will attack from the other direction once the battle has started. As we get in attack positions you need to decide what he hit first
A. Attack the houses and attempt to kill them in their sleep
B. Go to the temple and attempt to decapitate the enemy leadership, including the demonic creature they worship.
C. Other (Please explain)

Also are you the only one playing? If theres anyone else here i'd love to hear their feedback/ideas the more players the better I promise guys
>>
>>32882436
cool man I would love to hear your feedback/votes on choices, in the end its you guys that determine the direction of our civilizations culture and technology as well as our lifestyle
>>
>>32882445
Go with B, but have the men from the forward base ready to fight once the lizardmen wake up. Maybe the demon is controlling them or something and we won't have to kill them all. Plus I'm sure there's women and children that won't fight. Might as well show mercy.
>>
>>32882473
Yeah the more people the better. I'm gonna be leaving soon on about a 2 hour drive and I won't have signal the whole time. I'll try to post when I can.
>>
>>32882662
You gather a small group of your best men, including all our vampires except for the infant and Haggo and make your way up the temple steps while the rest of the boat force holds the courtyard. You have the men take cover as you approach the top seeing a guard, you have Orrik sneak up and garrote him,, silently removing the sentry as you make your way into the temple halls. The first major room is empty but appears to be a large room with tables for feasts and ceremonies, it is empty. You see a staircase at the end of the hall going deep into the interior of the temple with one path east and one going west. As you approach you hear human and lizard screams coming from the west end along with a demonic laugh while no sound comes from the east.

A. Take the western staircase towards the demonic sounds and screams
B. Take the eastern staircase, which is silent
>>
>>32883022
anyone left, its kind of hard to run the thread when I have no players
>>
>>32883022
Take the western staircase and prepare for a fight. If theres any prisoners free and arm them. Im gonna be gone for about an hour now. Ill post once I have signal.
>>
>>32883208
Lurking but learning for exams man :(

I like this thread though, First time I really bothered posting on /tg/
>>
>>32883317
>>32883245
You decide to take the western staircase with Orrik sneaking ahead of the group. You hear screams again, much closer this time as you are about to round a corner. Orrik beckons you forward and as you look around the corner you witness a scene of horror as you witness two of the mutated demonic lizardmen holding down a young man, with a lizard priest force feeding him what looks like demonic flesh. As he consumes it the man starts to writhe uncontrollably before stopping, the mutants then throw him in a pile of dead lizards and humans as you see another pair of mutants bring up another human male to the table. You decide that this is the time to strike using your blood magic to control the blood in two of the mutants bodies and throwing them against the wall, breaking their bones while the rest of our men attack. As you rest from using your spell you see Orrik boil one of the mutants blood as the other men cut down the remaining mutant and lizard priest. You ask the prisoner where he came from and if there are other prisoners and he explains that they are held in a chamber nearby. You follow him to the chamber where you dispatch one of the mutants with your sword while the other is brought down by the rest of your men. You enter a huge room full of cages, where both lizardmen and humans are being held, including women and children. You quickly free the humans but the loyalty of the lizard prisoners is suspect. Shall we free them as well?
>>
>>32883656
Ask them why they are held and ask general information about their demonic summoning first.
>>
>>32883656
of course we should free them . even if they are not friendly they are underfed slaves . if they look like normal lizards there shouldnt be any demonic mutation .
>>
>>32883656
Question and free them. Even if they fight us they're probably weak.
>>
>>32883715
You attempt to communicate with them but only one speaks our language. He claims that every year a random group of his people are selected and taken to the temple they are either fed to the demon or turned into mutated demonic servants. Apparently the method of turning them into mutants has a relatively low success rate but there are over 50 of them in existence, minus the ones we just killed. You reluctantly free the lizards and send them back under guard to the main force in the courtyard.

You then take the rest of the men and press on to the eastern staircase. You immediately come across a room filled with cutting implements thats covered in blood, you assume this is the room where they prepare the demons food. One of your men slips and makes a large noise as several of the metal implements are rattled. You hear a large booming demonic voice say something in a language you don't understand and seconds later a dozen mutants in armor appear in the doorway opposite you and your group.

You have 8 men in your group. They are all vampires except for 3 which are the best human warriors we have. 2 of you men are armed with bows while the rest are armed with swords axes and spears. All of our melee troops have shields and everyone has armor. In addition you still have energy to cast blood magic as does Orrik even though it may be a mistake to use up too much power before fighting the actual demon.

Whats the game plan? We are in a large open room filled in knifes on racks on the walls and ceiling with several tables strewn around.
>>
>>32883987
Man I've really enjoyed this but approaching AM times now and I have to go.

Cheers mate
>>
>>32883987
Can we destroy these tables and make makeshift baricades ? if so lets do this . if not our wariors with shields should go and make circle near wall , with shooters staing at the back . our heroes should pick the biggest baddest demon lizards with their magic

so you know , usuall stuff
>>
>>32884199
cheers
>>
>>32884238
This sounds good.
>>
>>32884238
You have the archers stand back as the rest of the men flip over the tables as a barricade. You and orrik then use your bloodmagic to throw two of the lead mutants into one of knife racks on the wall impaling them both. The archers unload on the other mutants landing their shots but the mutants just keep coming. You draw your sword and brace yourself as one of the mutants leaps over the table and knocks you down. You hit your head hard and are out for what seems like hours but is in fact seconds when you see the mutant fall backwards with 3 arrows plumes sticking out of his chest. You get up to see you and Orrik protecting the archers while two of your men are down and the other 2 are being backed into a corner by a group of 5 mutants. You have your archers try to cover your other men while you and Orrik go up against 2 mutants who are rushing for the archers. One of them strikes you with a hammer, you barely block it in time and it shatters your shield. As the mutant your fighting prepares a backswing you whip out your dagger and throw it planting it in his chest. You proceed to kick the mutant down to his knees and finish with a quick stroke of your sword to the neck. As you rip your dagger out of his chest you see Orrik dodge a spear thrust, getting inside the mutants guard before planting a dagger in his neck. You look to see another one of your men down fighting off 3 mutants. Fortunately two are down from before as well with one having your dead comrades sword through his chest and the other with several arrows plumes sticking out his back. You pick up one of the heavy mutant spears and throw it with all of your strength, striking a mutant and pinning him against a nearby wall. Your ally seeing an opening quickly dispatches another mutant while the archers kill the third. You take it all in and catch your breath even as your hear the loud booming demonic voice again

You catch your breath and gather your wits about you. You have 5 men left, after losing 3 of them in the last fight including one of the Hatteras militiamen you turned and 2 of the human warriors from your own forces. You keep hearing the loud demonic voice and press on to its source. You find yourself in some sort of throne room. You see a large demonic dragon like creature sitting on a pedestal surrounded by several small lizardmen, which you assume to be servants and attendants. The creature is also guarded by 4 more mutant guards. Your archers go to work on the mutant guards as you rush the them and the servants flee the room. As you finish the last of the mutants with your sword you hear a loud booming growl and a bright purple light fills the room as the demon vaporizes your archers with a some sort of magic. You and Orrik along with your remaining comrade surround the beast and begin hacking at it, but its scales are too tough, seeing this you signal Orrik to stand back with you and begin boiling the demons blood as you signal your other man to climb onto its back. The demon begins writhing and screaming from the pain as your comrade slowly pulls himself up and closer to the demons neck finally the demon speaks again, much weaker than before offering you its power in exchange for letting it go.

Shall we take this offer?
>>
>>32885567
anyone still here?
>>
>>32885567
Kill it
>>
>>32885871
You keep the pressure on and continue boiling its blood. While this is happening your man grabs the demon but its neck and it starts to thrash around trying to throw him off, a second later the demon opens its mouth and you see the purple light start to glow again as your companion takes out his knife and slits its throat, the purple light goes out and black blood pours over the floor. After killing the demon, a group of lizardmen in the robes of the demonic priests runs out towards you some with knifes most unarmed trying to kill you. You and your companions swiftly cut them down. Now that the demon is dead what should we do?

A. Leave the temple and see what our forces are doing
B. Same as A except take the demons head with us
C. Try to loot the temple and secure it with this small group before the lizards scatter
D. Other(Please specify)
>>
>>32886004
B we can loot later.
>>
>>32886343
You take your sword and saw off the demons head while your companions gather up the dead. You then lead your group outside to the temple steps to see Haggo has organized the army is surrounding the population of the city. Upon seeing this your raise the demons head for all to see and the lizards begin to bow to you.
>>
I might be able to stick around a bit
First civ thread though friends
Im no pro
>>
>>32886724
With the demon dead and the temple cleared of resistance all thats left is to deal with the prisoners. Their people are disoriented and their will broken after seeing their god dead.

What should we deal with the lizards population?
>>
Let them live but keep tabs on them to make sure they dont try and get revenge in the future for the death of the demon lizard
>>
>>32887151
You have the lizards herded together to the forward base where you build a fenced off camp for them to live in until we come up with a more permanent solution. With our people at peace at least for the moment we must decide how to focus our peoples efforts.

A. Focus on Military development
B. Focus on Economic development
C.Focus on Political/Cultural development
>>
>>32887481
Focus on economic development for now. And try to learn more about the people who were raiding the villages. Was it halflings?
>>
>>32887562
You order celebrations after the war and focus your efforts on administering our people and building up our economy. You help people start their own businesses and help establish industries. Our people discover a series of iron veins a few miles from our town. You help organize mining and smithing operations. In addition you expand the fishing business on the river and start a burgeoning trade with the Hatteras confederacy.

The celebrations are extensive and many children are born.
>>
>>32887987
I think this is the end for me tonight. I will run it again starting in the late afternoon eastern time tomorrow
