A few friends and I have decided to try out a Star Wars campaign in D&D, and I was wondering if any of ya'll who have done one before have any suggestions for what species I should make my character. I'm considering either an anomid or a zeltron depending on which class I do. Ya'll got any ideas?
>>53552359
SAGA edition is basically D&D (except good) Star Wars and is actually also a Star Wars game.
Why on earth you'd decide to instead play in D&D?
>>53552359
Why are you playing a Star Wars game using D&D, and not one of the many decent Star Wars systems. Also, be a droid.
>>53552391
We haven't been playing tabletops for too long (A few months) and we're Star Wars nerds so we thought it would be pretty easy to just do a basic D&D campaign but with Star Wars stuff we pull out of our asses instead of buying something new.
Hey /tg/, I've got a /k/-boner a mile wide lately. Looking for a ttrpg where me and my mates can be some operators operating in operational operations. The only one I've heard of is Ops and Tactics from here, is it any good? Or are there better takes on the idea?
GURPS has some pretty granular and crunchy shooting rules with a ton of options, it's based on real military, police and civvie firing range statistics - same with the injury and health system. Also a shitton of real weapons and equipment statted up in the high-tech splat and some others.

Albedo (PTSD simulator in furry space)
COPS (Cyberpunk SWAT)
D6 Adventure (simple and easy; modular)GURPS(because it does gunpaly well; modular)
Only War (great system overall, 40K paint easy to remove)
Patrol (PTSD simulator in Vietnam)
Phoenix Command (+excel macros: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4JCT2hEK1fLa2Y4MnF6WmdXUG8/view)
Recon (middle of the line, if dated)
Savage Worlds (for those allergic to GURPS or wanting a bit more psychology in their action; modular)
Twilight 2000 and derivatives (the cold war tactical rpg)
pick your poison.

>Recon
I heard that recommended in another thread, could you go into it more? and to OP I hear Cyberpunk 2020 is pretty decent if you refluff things to be modern esque.
So after the recent index leak, stat lines and prices. Whats everyones views on the big bugs
Its all on paper, but it looks good.
My nidzilla is going to hit the table again.
What are the leaks?

Hey everybody! I am DMing for the very first time. We are using D&D 5e, and I could use any tips that any experienced DMs have. Any tips or tricks would be much appreciated.
Dont give in to pressure
fudge rolls for the spirit of the game
never use a players backstory against them
>>53551219
WebDM put out a video this week if you haven't heard of them then you should at least see what they have to offer to you
>>53551226
What do you mean not use a player's back story against them? would it be a bad idea to try and incorporate the back stories into the world and maybe make some stories around them? Thank you for the advice.

>Set after The End War
>Other Humans survived The End War like The Hunter, others could have made deals with different Demons (including Vulgrim, Samiel or the Chosen), Angels (like Uriel), or one of the many Old Ones (like Ostegoth or Ulthane), allowing Heroic Human characters.
>All the Horsemen appeared during the end war and were accused of starting it early. Stay have since gone on the run to prove their innocence and may have even split up to cover more leads / make harder to track.
The Charred Council are recruiting capable and power warriors from across the realms, Angel, Demon, Old One, Undead.
>Hunt down the traitorous Horsemen.
>Find this mysterious Destroyer, determine how it was able to turn the Horsemen against the balance and lead the hordes of the Abyss to crush the armies of the White City.
>Patrol Earth, stop the depredations of the Demons and unceasing fury of the Angels, find any surviving Humans and protect what's left of the Third kingdom.
I still don't quite understand how the Martial Strifes work

List of known realms:
>The First Kingdom: Heaven, including the outpost of Lostlight.
>The Second Kingdom: Hell, including the outpost Shadow's Edge.
>The Third Kingdom: Earth.
>The Veil, realm of the Crowfather.
>The Abyss, primordial darkness from before creation, home to countless monsters.
>The Far Fields, realm of the Horsemaster and Phantom Horses.
>The Forge Lands, realm of the Makers and their Constructs.
>The Kingdom of the Dead, realm of the Dead Lords who shepherd the deceased to be cleansed of their past lives so that they may return to the Well of Souls, also home to a variety of Undead. (may include Argul's Tomb, but it greatly resembles Crowfather's Veil)
>The River Styx, A place existing between the Three Kingdoms, the Styx is a river filled with wrathful souls that became lost rather than making it to the Well of Souls and thus to the Kingdom of the Dead.
>The Charred Council's Realm, from this unknown place the Charred Council uphold the balance and send their enforcers to carry out their will.
Dead worlds:
>Eden
>Kothysos
>Ravaiim
Know methods of traversing the worlds:
>The Tree of Life/Death (exists in every realm except for earth)
>Serpent Holes, can potentially connect to every realm, requires powerful entity to manifest them (Vulgrim, Azrael, Samael, Crowfather, Archon Lucien, The Charred Council)
>>53550768
Possible characters concepts:
>Angel
>Demon
>Maker
>Maker-Construct
>Undead
>Abyssal Creatures
>Human that has somehow survived the Apocalypse
One of the many types of unnamed Old Ones (Crowfather, Ostegoth, Kargon)

A race of beings that were shaped to be brutal fighters by magic and breeding and raised in artificial 'the strongest survive/might makes right' culture to create vast armies that never the less (and by necessity because nothing is as embarrassing to a dark lord when his army murders itself before it reaches the battlefield) are capable of virtue as well as their normal ill deeds and the individual members of which are able to become more than warlike tribals or cannon fodder if removed from said environment is more interesting and has more narrative potential than a bunch of mindless meatbots unable to deviate from their programing.

I don't care what orcs you pick as long as their women are hot.

>has more narrative potential than a bunch of mindless meatbots unable to deviate from their programing.
Depends on how it is done. I'd find the social and spiritual implications of a race that is mindless meatbots pretty interesting. Like what would the theological consequences be in this? If morality is objective then is it murder to kill something mindless?
Can we get one of these threads going? Show me what you got.
Also, template so you can make your own.

GRANBERIA IS NOT FOR LEWDS
We used to talk about it all the time when it wasn't really a possibility, now we never mention it- I've spent more on my miniatures than I did on my $200 printer, and it's putting out terrain and miniatures that may not be 100% the detail as mold-injected stuff, but it's damn close.
There's a 3dpg on /diy/, but that very rarely sees anything miniature related,
instead just posting about the printers themselves (though I know there is one of you, and I'm half-sure you're here).
So... post your prints? Or just cool stuff on thingiverse you'd print if you could. Shit, or ask questions, I guess, though I'm hardly qualified as anything more than a casual user (a few prints a day on a cheap junk printer).
Full disclosure, this bitch got no face- that's not the printer per se, the file doesn't really have a face itself.

I think this one took like 3 hours, I took a nap while it worked.
>literally infinite numbers
>consistently recruiting/corrupting from the imperium
>can wipe out entire systems if they feel like it
>can casually wipe out whole fleets if they want
>can appear anywhere if the gods will it
>fully control the area that their biggest rival needs to travel and communicate
>can plague, slaughter, mutate or corrupt whole worlds and the population can do absolutely nothing about it
>greatest rival is a psychic vegetable who hasn't done shit in 10k years
>still hasn't fucking won
>still consistently BTFO by the imperium and eldar
Chaosfags will defend this shit
>b-but they aren't trying to win!
>b-but Muh compelling narrative
>b-but abandons plan!
Nobody jobs harder than chaos. Nobody. No wonder they constantly feel the need to talk shit about xenos
>>53546675
As a Chaosfag, I agree entirely. The thing is, if Chaos BTFO the Imperium, it wouldn't be half as interesting as if they struggled to do so. The Big Four know this, and have intentionally restrained themselves because the galaxy would be boring if it was just Chaos.

8th Edition Guard
Let's discuss how you're going to build your army and what you guys think will be useful. General discussion about Guard too.
I'm personally pretty excited despite some negative things like Vets losing some gear and being Elites and losing Platoons. I'm happy that Conscript blobs are still a thing and that there isn't a tax for them. I'm sure in a competitive scene we'll see armies taking only Conscripts for troops. I think I'm most hyped for Basilisks, tons of Command Points, cheap blobs and tons of cheap Heavy Weapons Teams.
That all said, what do you think will be the best heavy weapons?

Literally disappointed that we aren't getting rid of HWT which are literally the dumbest thing in the fucking codex and are inflicted on no-one else.
Not that I expected any better.
Motherfuckers.
>>53546259
I wasn't a fan of it either when it first came out, but they wouldn't go backwards on the models. Overall I am okay with it because Heavy Weapon Squads fill out that Spearhead Deatchment nicely and for super cheap. They might be fragile, but with how cheap they are now I don't mind.
No more carapace armor?

Is /tg/ ready for a flood of threads asking how to run a Dark Tower game once the movie comes out in August? And the TV series sometime soon after that
What system do you think would be a good fit? If possible, explain WHY you think the game in question is a good fit. Don't just say Deadlands because it's a "weird west" game, explain how the rules would work well to make the players feel like they're not just playing D&D with cowboy hats.
Newfags won't get this.
