Evo Thread, there was one last night, I don't know if it was the first, I wasn't the OP but I liked it.
Rules:
>Modify previous organisms, starting with the three that will be subsequently posted
>Modify to make a creature better at a niche, fill an unfilled niche or in response to other modifications, don't devolve legs as a carnivore when there's no herbivores or plants on land.
>Compete with other evolutions of the starting creatures.
The starting creatures will be in the next three posts
>This belongs on /qst/
the OP of the last thread got told to move it here
the mell is a jaw-less and sightless organism which catches drifting plet in it's mouth.
Plet is a photosynthesizing organism that floats in open water.
The Upid is a segmented creature which preys on mell, it navigates with its antennae
Alright regiment, listen up!
Due to our regiment's recent success in single handedly putting down that uprising in the underhives of Katjia III. Segmenting Command has seen it fit, to have us deployed to this Space Hulk, in an effort to cleanse it of any kind if taint. Whether it be of Xeno, or Chaos origin!
As is befitting of such a prestigious assignment, you are all to be on your BEST behaviour! That means, no writing your names on the walls, no scavaging archeotech for yourself, no pressing of random buttons labeled "Self destruct", and especially, NO PUSHING PEOPLE OUT OF AIRLOCKS! I'm looking at you, Private Anverali!
But before we begin pushing forward and clearing out this vessel. I'm ordering a surprise Field Kit Inspection! So all guardsmen, present arms and armour for inspection!

Remember men! If you find something that has more spikes or claws than you have teeth. It's usually fine to shoot it at first sight!

Commissar! Request to humbly ignore one of those four rules.

Back in action, sir! I was sick with a severe case of Cadian Flu. Let's kill some Genestealers!
Hello. I'm a Pathfinder vs 5e thread here to fish for replies.
Ahem. Pathfinder is nothing but the illusion of choice and 5e has more meaningful decision making. For all the options you are given, it is still entirely unfeasible to make a trick shooter or a master at many arms in Pathfinder.
Okay go.
Did you say owl thread?
Hello, I'm a Cestree vs Ribbon post here.
Ahem. Cestree is nothing but unattainable fantasy, and Ribbon is more relatable. For all the checklist points Cestree has, it still just doesn't match up to the spunk and fervor Ribbon has.
Do I need minis and a map to run 5e? Never DMed before.
>>53744223
Nope.
Theatre of the mind.
>>53744223
Technically no, but you want them to avoid arguments over who is where and why monsters are attacking this dude instead of that dude.
>Group talks about the campaign I'm running
>Make speculation that's completely far off
>Ask them questions to try and lead them to the right way, or just subtly hint them about stuff
>"Nah, that's impossible!"
Adapt to make sure they were in fact right all along. This ensures they'll feel smart and that everyone's having fun.
>>53744112
Let them follow those hunches to their relevant conclusions and realise they were wrong naturally.
>>53744288
Yeah, this.
Haven't seen one of these in a while. Post photos that make you think Player Character.
Can renaissance and early modern fantasy work?
>longswords
>plate mail
>black powder weapons
>literacy is common
>age of sail & continent spanning adventures
>emphasis on coinage instead of feudal manors
Most fantasy already is Renaissance and Early Modern.
>>53743217
...like 7th Sea, for example?
Literally three editions of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay isn't enough of an answer?
Granted, only two of them were good, but...

What should we do with xenos?
Baptize them and show them the way of Lord and Saviour.

Be them.

>codex index: xenos mercenaries
from kroots, demiurges and tarellian dog soldiers to zoats, hruds, rak'qol, jokaeros and more like the last slanni, piscean warriors and various beasts on a leash
a single kit/miniature per type would be more than enough and from them looking for what of these get more popular expand more with its own minidex like the genestealers cults
> D&D Fifth Edition
> Party of LN Dwarf Fighter, CG Elf Rogue, NE Human Wizard, all level 3.
> Rogue speaking with the owner of a slightly down on its luck item shop to up the reward for the quest we got about recovering a family heirloom.
> Player rolls a natural twenty on starting persuasion of the shop itself being the reward.
> GM goes with it for a laugh.
> We think it was a joke.
> It wasn't.
GM's probably thinking we're going to sell it off. Heck, we were thinking of doing that at first, but the elf's player said we could probably use the thing as a base while we work in the surrounding area. Wizard's player said we might as well try to run the shop to get some money while we are at it. Place is essentially a pawn shop full of all sorts of random shit on the edge of one of the poorer districts of a small trading city. Could we actually do something to get us a bunch of much money starting with that?
>>53741066
Take whatever is useful / valuable. Sell the shop with what remains.
I guess you could use it almost as a museum, showing off all the cool shit you've got after a quest.
or just become pawn stars, IDK
Could be a base of operations. Hire someone (or better! employ someone the party rescued or a PC family member) to run the shop while the party is out.
When the party returns, roll a table:
- profit! Gain X gold
- discover! Gain an useful item worth X gold but that wouldn't be able to buy
- curse! A pawned item is cursed and the party must deal with it.
There so much good stuff you can do. Mafia mobs wanting money, militia wanting money, a hidden dungeon in the basement, the deal of items...
How can I run Call of Cthulhu, but instead of the occult being real, all the stupid hill-billy conspiracies turn out to be real? I'm talking shit like chemtrails, fluoride in the drinking water, the moon being a hologram, and the earth being flat.
Unknown Armies might be better for that.

Or Chronicles of Darkness.

UA is basically Hillbilly conspiracy theory: the game.
So there are no good Fallout RPGs right?
GURPS is good.

GURPS: After the End.
Savage Worlds homebrew Savage Fallout. It's amazing, been running it for a few months now.
Dog kobolds > lizardshit kobolds
As long as we can agree that "dog kobolds" refers to skull shape and they were never not scaly.
>>53736666
Dog Kobolds are a result of Baelful polymorph used by a Red Dragon who lost a good amount of his Kobold servitors to a raid.
They're Mogrelbolds.
What I want to know is, what the fuck happened to the sully flying Kobolds, because there's only one illustration for them in 3.5 and nothing statted

I am saddened by your opinion
ITT: biggest red flags
>group talks about how they hate paladins and Lawful Good characters

>The phrase "Temple of Goatse" is used in a serious fashion.
>group has a discord server where they talk about the game nonstop for 12 hours each day

>Morbidly obese woman with half-shaved pink hair DMing.
Your party is currently being chased by a blonde woman with super strength, impossible speed, and is capable of tearing through fully grown dragons like cardboard. She also has a very large axe. What do you do /tg/?
Roll diplomacy until she is seduced, just like every other one of her evil boyfriends. Nothing gets The Buff hot like quipping.

Teleport down the Murder-Servitors.
