We've got ourselves an old fashioned goddess on our hands, after all. When I made my choice of idea, the genie sister smiled, as if she knew the perfect person.

For she was once worshiped as a minor goddess or guardian of the Home. As a concept it's quite specific. But can be used to great power in the modern age.

For example. "I wish i had a nice house!" Done. "...I wish I had a whole apartment block, with which I could provide the pure-hearted poor with homes for nothing. And of course by having that I mean I don't have to pay for it either." Done.

"...and fuck it, I wish I had several nice homes to rent to the rich, so as to create an income that covers anything outside of my home." Also done.

"...I also want to make a home with you..." I could also shyly state, and probably live with the genie in a much more lovey-dovey way. Probably not something to wish early on, just an example of what I imagine could feasibly do. (Hey, creator, do all these wishes seem within that kind of power?)

Traveller is pretty great.

Tactical Waifu.

GM with 22 years experience here. (22 of GMing, more of playing).

Use Dungeon World system, but use it in your own setting. Just steal the core of the rules, if you're a regular dm/gm I'm sure you know how to do that.

It's 2d6+appropriate mod, 6- = fail with consequences 7-9 = success but with consequences, 10+ = pure success.

Only players roll.

It is one of THE greatest systems I have ever played. The entire dw book is like a manual on how to be a great gm. The only bad advice I found in there was to split up your players as a 'move' you can make. That's always a terrible idea, unless its VERY temporary, like split them up but in the same room, to solve a trap puzzle.

Other than that, no warnings

The system is built to make amazing narrative with very even pacing and lots of interaction.

Let your players make up as much or as little as you like while still having as much control as GM as you want - but if you're stuck for an idea or etc. you can actually ask a player 'what is here?' or 'why is that?' and have what they say become reality.

I know what I'm saying isn't going to make complete sense without having read the rule book but trust me - its worth your time.

The rule book reads pretty bland and unappealing, that's VERY deceptive. I wasn't impressed by the actual book itself -- until I actually TRIED the system.

Blew me away.

I almost feel like I could never go back to a pass-fail dice system ever again. (Like anything d20, or d100.)

Another system I bought where players do all the rolling is cypher system but I haven't tried it yet.

I can think of a few systems with lethal combat but nothing on the second one. It sounds to me like you're less interested in "need gold to live" and more "need to track consumables to live, which require gold to get". Basic needs like food and water aren't that exciting to most people so a lot of systems streamline or ignore it.

Low lethality level when not cautious doesn't make sense, so I'm gonna assume you meant high lethality if not cautious.

Well, a flat earth map of Earth is actually smaller in area than it appears because of the stretching as you radiate out from the center.
But Creation is actually flat, and there is no stretching to make is appear flat. So I think Creation ends up a but larger overall.

Diversity has no value in and of itself.

Diversity has value because it opens up new ways to tell stories, and gives you new stories to tell because of those different perspectives that are present.

My settings tend to be diverse, but as a means, not an end. And if a setting being diverse doesn't make sense, it won't be, because diluting the creative vision of a story to appeal to arbitrary standards of diversity is the worst sort of tokenism.

Diversity is such a shallow and meaningless term in a diagetic context. Diversity exists as a priority in real life because it ensures that there is a richer well of experience and perspective to draw from. Narratives are inherently drawn from a single source and it is explicitly impossible for that source to ideate things it cannot conceive of.

Do I include people of color in the worlds I build? Absolutely, it gives my player-characters an easy way to justify knowing a character's origins. Does that mean I am making the game more diverse or more jingoistic? The truth is that neither is true, because "Diversity" has no meaning in a narrative held up by a singular mind.

Think about it a little deeper. Here, I'll start with a thought I had.

A large half-orc man from a rough city. Never quite seems like he's enjoying himself. He wears a set of hide armor that he attached hundreds, maybe thousands of feathers to, and an owl mask for robberies. When things get rough, and weapons are drawn, he draws none; he wrestles and throws opponents like the beast he emulates. His favorite thing to do is grab people in a bear hug (or rather, an owlbear hug) and squeeze the breath out of them while headbutting with his beaked mask. He's not in this gang of bandits because of the money or the fame, he's in it because it's the only place he can let out his aggression.

How about you just be fucking honest with your players and make it almost identical except for a few name changes instead of disguising your creative impotence as experimentation with the setting.
