So, what kind of system could be used to run a "Grail War" campaign, like from the Fate franchise? With the player characters not being the main combatants, but instead supporting beings of incredible power. Where fights are not common, but are always a huge deal when they do occur, and their outcomes can create huge shifts in what happens next.
>>54134470
FATE?
>>54134807
Yeah, Fate.
Y'know, that weird franchise that's been oddly popular since the original VN came out due to the concept being pure unadulterated cocaine?

Do Imperial Fists and Raven Guard Primaris Marines have the missing organs back? Regular Imperial Fists are missing two organs (Betcher's gland and Sus-an Membrane) but did Cawl restore the gene-seed completely for Primaris Marines? Has Dark Imperium answered this question?
>>54133791
>but did Cawl restore the gene-seed completely for Primaris Marines?
It'd be awesome if Cawl used only Ultramarines geneseed to make Primaris Marines strain. Magos would basically cuck all other primarchs with Guilliman's offspring.
If I remember correctly Cawl states that all chapters have the full set of working organs now. I believe he said it when he was using his "totally not an AI" telephone to talk to rowboat girlyman.
>>54133826
Not really what I meant by restored gene-seed, but Cawl wanted to work with all the gene-seed stock he had. He's likely made or is making loyalist Iron Warriors, World Eaters, etc.
Is he canon?
>>54133597
Not canon

To me, this glorious motherfucker certainly is.

Agreed. They did a tournament recently I think. And they opened forums. I remember the glorious days of the open beta, and the french anon that brought out compiled ideas to the devs in Paris, and got the chance to visit the studios.

Do any of you fa/tg/uys use Tabletop Simulator? How do you organise and play? There isn't a single unlocked game available which I can't say I disagree with, so are there any steam groups/etc where these things are organised?
Bonus points for 40k TTS groups too.
>>54131456
My friend ran us a DnD campaign on TTS for a few weeks. It was really handy having Steam for voice chat but we sometimes used Skype.
We enjoyed finding a seemingly unlimited amount of miniatures to download on the Steam Workshop, some of them had animations too. I was really surprised to see that some users had even made dungeon modules and maps for downloading.
Problems we had:
>Lost the theatre of mind.
Our DM spent increasing amounts of time adding more and more detail to the maps, settings, enemies, music, sound FX etc. Which was really nice and thoughtful but only stood to emphasise the gaps in the experience which he didn't fill. I don't know how to explain it in English, I just mean sometimes your imagination is better. Less is more?
>Players messing about
Its very easy and tempting for people to fuck about with the miniatures on the table. Not sure why its just harder for people to pay attention and it was hard for the DM to know who was focused.
>>54131456
I've used it for 40k. Worked really great for me personally. Good way to play with my buddy who loves too far away for it to be practical otherwise.
Used it for Kingdom Death Monster, took some to get used to it, but it's pretty functional.

re-posting from a thread that was dead by the time I finished typing
Can someone help me out here? I played a game against a Thousand Sons player earlier and got absolutely destroyed, but when I read through the Chaos index later I didn't see half of the shit that he was talking about or if I did the way he thought the rules worked were just plain WRONG.
And some of them I can't even find where he got them at all...
for example:
Death to the False Emperor is only supposed to happen on a roll of 6+. He was claiming it every time he hit.
He was claiming a 4++ on all his units, and I cannot find any reason for this in the rules. Tzeentch favoured seem to get 5++, but not 4++.
In addition he was re-rolling all saving throws of 1 on his tzeentch terminators when in 6'' of Ahriman (and across the board from Ahriman before I politely called him on it)... but you're only supposed to re-roll invulnerable saves. So we were only wounding these terminators on double rolls of 1s, basically.
The last thing I can think of is he for some reason had the idea that by putting his sorcerers on a disc it improved their invulnerable save by 1 by giving them the daemon keyword. Furthermore, since he claimed that the invuln was 4++ instead of 5++, this made their invulns 3++.
So what gives? Does this guy just not know his own army's rules or is there some rule I'm not seeing?
I know some of his rules were just plain wrong, but I'm wondering about the daemons and the discs and the 5++ vs the 4++.
Anyone have any insight?
Oh shit!
You've just got yourself a mother fucking time machine that can take you to any point in the past!
But there's a catch: you can only use it to travel back in time for the purposes of playing a tabletop game with people, and you can only play with people who won't end up as big mentions in the history books, no famous figures in history, unfortunately.
What time period do you go to, what type of people do you try to play with, and what game do you play?
>>54130853
Do I know the language? If so the ancient greeks, spartans or some shit.
If not than latin classes and go play some dnd with the romans (pre-christian rome)
>>54130853
>time machine
I smash it and spit in the DM's eye. I'm not going to play his dumb fucking monkey paw game. I also don't accept items or entities offering the Wish spell, and throw genie lamps into volcanos
these things never go well. Ever. every dumb fucker thinks they're the cleverest shit ever, lmao subverted your intentions! So I earn everything with blood, sweat, and hard work.
>>54130906
That's cool and all, but the premise is that you get the time machine IRL to play games with people from the past.
>be me
>starts first campaign since no-one else is running one
> one player plays bard
> complains he is "too weak"
>plays first session lvl 1
> proceeds to convince a ork that party is now the ORKS warband and that they will listen to him
> procceeds to manipulate ork into borderline pack mule... at lvl 1
> contemplating changing diplomacy rules for pathfinder
So anyone else have similar experiences about bards being REALLY scary if used right

>Pathfinder
You can break the game with pretty much ANYTHING in Pathfinder if you know how to exploit the rules when you're building your character. Mathfinder is kind of a smouldering dumpster fire mechanically.

You know considering this is /tg/, when you guys said "Crab Clan" I honestly expected some sort of dramatic, epic adventure story starring crabs and not just people with the title "Crab Clan".
A crab based adventure would be pretty cool. Every level they grow in size, get giant crab wizards and barbarians clamping entire battleships.
>>54129528
Level 1 crabs start out defending tidepools from octopi and eels and by level 10 they're thwarting an ancient being's plan to repurpose the planet's biomass into a second Cambrian Explosion.
You reminded me of this, op.
