People who understand colours, what colours are best to build up from a base of GW Incubi Darkness/P3 Coal Black?
It's a very dark turquoise colour.
I was thinking highlight up through blue-grey tones, to make a kind of green-blue (VMC Grey Blue, GW Thunderhawk Blue), or possibly greens (jade/malachite green colours).
Dark turquoise is a weird colour to have as a primer.

>base of Incubi Darkness/ Coal Black
(great colors, btw. Coal Black is very versatile)
drybrush with Thunderhawk Blue, followed by an edge highlight of Russ Grey.
More of my WIP base for my Stormhawk.
Going to add a genestealer skull rested against the metal beam then call it finished.
What risks and rewards might a group of explorers discover within a ruined monastery city lost for centuries in the snowy mountains?
Rewards: Ancient monk treasures and magic scrolls with dank lore and kung-fu magic.
Risks: Yeti AIDS.
>>54132578
The monks never really died, they just reached a level of zen that lies beyond death.
The altitude and cold are as deadly to the party as anything else. If they don't come prepared to combat altitude sickness and arctic weather conditions, they die.
A massive People's Army has bunkered down in one of the temple complexes and need removal to continue your journey. Watch out for mortars, as they've got the whole mountainside you can approach from zeroed.

>Remains of a old Chinese military instillation lay scattered around the ruins of the monastery city, abandoned it seems since the 1970s or so.
>Did they succumb to the same icy winds and thin air that have been giving your exploratory team so much trouble on your long trek upwards?
>Or, perhaps their disappearance has more to do with sounds of murmured chanting and distant bells coming from the great, sealed temple...
Anyone have or know of some artwork of modrons that dont look like weird creeps? Rolling a rogue modron for a game but can't get past that face. Thanks in advance.

like what? conan villain was the stereotypical (haha we all know not stereotypical, but actual) jew, iirc - scheming wizard.
but yeah, maybe it's lizardmen, but trolls have a lot more common with africans

Since this thread just start why not ruin it early?
I don't use race as class in my game, but am still deciding on if I want to use race with a mechanical benefit though. Do you think it's interesting or fun to give races a mechanical reason, or do you think it detracts from the smooth and class-based nature of the game?
>>54122325
Something that might be doable is is some sort of racial quality, like infra-vision or immunity to charms and then add aptitude for a skill, bumping a 1 out of 6 chance to 2 out of 6 (like elven listen).
If you want more structure around this idea, ACKS has pretty good guides on how to make your own class which would let you do this very easily.

>Post Weird Class Edition
I still think the Summoner is pretty dang weird. You could be a guy with a dagger and the ability to summon a giant pink faceless pig and an arrowhead that finds newborns. That's it. That's your class.
>>54122325
>https://coinsandscrolls.blogspot.ca/2017/04/osr-class-summoner.html
I think it's fun, but the effects I use are really minor. Races get to reroll 1 Stat at character creation and pick the highest result. They also get a minor bonus and a minor downside. It makes character creation interesting.
Drachenfest soon fellow larpfags.

Are you one of those Moros who thinks vampires are interesting and cool, or the type that thinks a leech vivisection is wholesome entertainment?

Doing a riddle for a D&D one-shot I'm making. First time doing puzzles, so tell me if it's good or not.

Answer:Poison.

The answer is a woman, a regular one.

You got to change the words sting and fall to make it a tad bit more obvious. Remember, not everyone is good with riddles.

Your choices are either underground, risking the occasional volcanic upheaval, or in the upper atmosphere.
The latter is surprisingly viable; breathable air is a lifting gas there, so you just need to have gigantic zeppelins proof against the weak acid at that height.
A man is not considered to have come of age until he has completely his first Dive into the sweltering depths of the Venusian atmosphere.

Are Norse Dwarves ever really Acknowledged outside the RPGs? What could be done with them to make them interesting?
>What could be done with them to make them interesting?
Dwarves that have to deal with the natural corruption of their holds and the creatures that inhabit them.
>Stone trolls being born out of walls
>Rocks shifting
>creatures from the deep surfacing
>halls and corridors literally melting away
>were creatures found in the deepst mines
I might as well ask because it's the OP topic, how big a power is Myrmidia? She's treated like something of a minor goddess because the setting is generally more Empire-focused, but I know in the south she's a big deal. But does she have blessed followers and all that like the Lady?
How do the Bretonnians feel about Myrmidia? I know they like Shallya, so maybe they'd like the other lady deity, especially since peasants might see her as more willing to listen to their prayers in battle.
>Are Norse Dwarves ever really Acknowledged outside the RPGs? What could be done with them to make them interesting?
Norse dwarves are pretty fine, but I think for dwarves in general it would be good if chaos dwarves would be much more prominent in the setting and some third, more neutral dwarf faction could help to balance them out.
If making undead is evil because of negative energy, then why is it neutral to make shadesteel golems, which involves binding an elemental spirit (general rule for all golems) AND creating something that shoots out waves of negative energy on a regular basis?
>>54139230
Bad writing.
It should be evil.
If alignments are stupid then why are alignments stupid?
>>54139230
different things written by different people, most likely. you should really use your discretion as a DM to pick and choose what you want in your games anon.

What are some of the best speeches that you've heard/ used in your games?

>>54138025
"You are strong, child. But I am beyond strength." gives me chills every time, I was thinking about how I'd love to have good speeches in my games too
I have villains give a variation of this often:
>My life has come to culminate in this moment. My triumph or my defeat. I am willing to bet everything on this fight, my life, my fortune, my soul. Are you willing to do the same to stop me?
Most PCs say no and realize their character isn't willing to die or risk their life in a meaningful way. This is the part that when they pull out you brand them as cowards.
