Form up, men! Neat and orderly; just the way I like it!
Men! This is our moment of glory! The moment when, we, as soldiers of the Imperium, show our true might. When we show these foul Greenskins, that they cannot stand before the might of Mankind!
We shall cut a holy swath through our enemies ranks, like a power sword cutting through Astarte's brand butter, and wipe them from the face of Shale's Ice!
Many of you will no doubt die. Not from enemy fire, or in the glory of melee combat. But from freezing to death, due to the simple fact that many of you, have traded your "Munitorum brand mittens", for ALCOHOL!
As such, I am calling for a surprise Field kit inspection, so that I can more easily determine which of you, is most likely to their hands, and die from the cold weather!
As such, present arms and armour, for a Field Kit Inspection!
>Welcome to ''Field Kit Inspection", home of the 'Unknown Regiment". Feel free to join in! Remember though, we tend to use spoilers for OOC chat, while greentexts for are used for describing a character's actions. D20s are for combat checks and d100s for other things you wish to roll, with higher being better.

What sort of role does language play in your RPGs?
How would a character go about learning a new language? How long does it take to learn a new language?
At the edge of the map of my campaign, there is a village where the people don't speak common, and I'm curious as to how the players getting there is gonna go.
>>54462356
Or, I guess we could discuss E-celebs, softcore monstergirl porn, and memes.
>>54462356
Magic soooort of kills language barriers
It doesn't, because "find a translator" isn't a particularly compelling or worthwhile thing to roleplay. Language barriers are just adding trivial bullshit for the sake of it.

How do I get into DnD?
Started kit?
Find friends.
5e starter kit. Yuu might also find it good to pick up a big bag of dice off amazon as well. Otherwise, you got all you need, and for more, you can check out the wizards website or even the /5eg/ here.
This a fantastic game that runs on the same base ruleset of DnD and is really easy to learn, plus it's free.

Well, now that I finally caught up with World Seed, I gotta say that I'm pretty disappointed. The world building seemed really good in the first and middle part, but once the sci-fi stuff started the quality took a big hit imo, and it seems like all other classes are trash compared to druid. Maybe I'm wrong and they have their own tricks and specialities, but there's no way to know because they got at most a single-sentence description.
To make that post actually a productive one:
Jumpers, have you ever been disapointed with a setting you got into because of its jump?
Jumpers, tell me, do you use familiars of any kind? Be it to aid you in a fight, your spell casting, research or just in your daily life. If so, have they any sentience of their own? How did you get them?
>>54460954
I KNOW RIGHT!? I loved it when I made the jump but fuck man the author lost his mind or something. I got some ideas on that front though.
As to your question, yes. Yes I have. But usually its not the jumls fault it is like where aomething starts out awesome then falls off, I used to love one piece for example but man it went to weird places.
>>54461031
I like to use faeries or demons if I need sapient ones, which I have a few. Otherwise I use necromancy for puppet pet needs, you can make a lot out of skeleton bones and magic.

Well at least it's happy to see me.
Making a Lovecraftian horror setting of my own.
What good source material can I draw from for inspiration (Other than call of Cthulu of course)
Also, how 2 describe something as scary without just saying what it looks like and saying 'its scary'
Silmarillion.
>>54460146
Set up a good immersive atmosphere beforehand. Capitalize on the unknown factor of horror. Amp up the dread as the story goes along.

ITT we talk about TCGs, and group card games. Currently, it's mostly yugioh, but more things are welcome.
Boardgames and tabletops are welcome there too.

Any one think that a splatoon TCG or a deck building/LCG game would work?
>>54459556
Anyone else interested in getting back into FoW? I'm so sick of WotC fucking up standard sets and event support.
I'm particularly interested in Wanderer format, but I haven't really seen much info on that format's metagame to really comprehend what would be viable. I just want to play Vlad DrawGo
>>54459633
I wanted to get into Force of will but it was just too easy to buy into, from what I was told, it was one of those games where you didn't have to have a lot of skill to win and if you had like 20 bucks, you can make an OP deck
>>54459862
I like the idea of getting into it but arent u just kind of fucked in terms of finding people to play it with? seems like its not so popular
Hi /tg/ can someone help me with all these books they sell please! Im relatively new to D&D and I wanted to buy all of the main books for him for his birthday soon but as I was looking for them there was loads and now I have no idea what ones I need and I'm hoping someone here can help and if anyone has any suggestions for campaign books that would be amazing! Thanks!
The picture is my list so far are these all the books you need???
Last bit sorry!
You can get way cheaper plastic dice that work fine. Get two sets of dice and make sure they are made for d20 gaming (should come with d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20 and d100 dice). You don't need the DM screen, that is only for dungeon masters and as a new player you won't be doing that. Likewise you don't need the DM Guide book. The Player's Handbook is essential, get that. You don't need the Starter Box if you get the PHB. I haven't tried any 5e campaign books yet. However, they have level ranges printed on them so if you get any make sure they can be used for beginner characters (level 1-whatever). Character sheets identical to the ones they sell can be downloaded from the internet and printed for free.
If you want to learn more about monsters and lore, the Monster Manual, Volo's Guide to Monsters and Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide are all good. They are not required for regular players though. They are mostly for DMs or for people who want to learn about the lore.
Any rpgs that make you Lol wut or cringe?
I found this furry gem while browsing. Maybe it's a parody?
http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/101586/Justifiers-RPG?filters=0_2140_500_44499_45208
1992 was a simpler time. One with out the memeifcation of "anthro = furry"
Looks fine and the lore is pretty neat. Seems like a more serious Shadowrun/Paranoia
Bellum Maga
Roleplaying in the feminist resistance.
all characters are womyn who have magicK given to them by the Goddess, so they can fight the evil minions of the serpent, the Patriarchy.
I like to think of my self as fairly liberal, but this book makes me want to join a MRA group.
Blast from the past! Man I had a bunch of these. IIRC they came in digest size, softcover, prefect bound books. The art wasn't bad. Ahhh the innocents of the 90s I didn't even know what a furry was!
My first mini ever painted! Incase it's hard to tell from the lack of good artistic skills it's an iron warrior. I just started a few days ago so first painted thread.
Blurry pic but looks good overall.

First for first times
ITT: Tell us what your group/GM does that you hate, to bring it to the attention of other GMs and players so that other groups need not go through the same misery.
> No greasy snacks at the table please, and clean your hands before handling resource books
Make sure your sister wears proper clothes. Having a sixteen-year-old in pyjama shirt and shorts walk in a few times then getting awkward when I look sucks.
Fade to black. Also, no seduction in games.
>>54459300
The only group I am DMing for right now don't understands D&D 5.0. First time meeting 4/6 of the players was in the fist session, where we tried to make character... It was a nightmare, they just didn't know what to do even when I explained to them. Everything was falling apart and I decided to start the game already with half of the characters sheets empty. It was one of my favorite sessions, everything went great, until, of course, we need to level up the characters...
What kind of animals and plants are in your setting, tg?
>>54459184
And how much of your setting just has normal "earth" life?
>>54459184
Ranges from familiar flora and fauna featuring subtle innate magical properties, to much larger and more aggressive versions of said animals, to prehistoric beasts and creatures of legend. There are no highly intelligent talking beasts, however fairies can and often do assume the forms of animals and they can talk just fine.
>>54459277
>transformed fairy working up the courage to talk to another transformed fairy but turns out its just an animal
Yes
