Hello and welcome back to Mortal Kombat Konquest!
After a break for October, I am very glad to say that I have returned for the continuation of our story. Now we revisit Kaito, or as he is now known, Otiak, in his mission to save all of reality from an unknown threat.

Our story continues now!
In a small demi-plane, a figure has trained and prepared himself for his new journey. His body is unlike his own, and as such he needed time to grow used to it and learn its new tricks. Under the watchful guidance of a mysterious figure, an agent of time, he has learned all he can learn in this place and must now venture to another reality--his own.
While he has been here, he has watched and observed troubling events in his home. Deaths of friends, powerful artifacts stolen, bonds broken and more. But he has also seen much that has given him hope; love between allies, friends performing great deeds of heroism and new allegiances forged. But he knows something that none of them know: all of reality is in danger.
His name is Otiak, though he was not always known by this name. Until he can stop the threat to all of reality, however, he must keep himself secret, for while he has made many allies, he has also made many enemies. The entity is also seeking him, for he represents the greatest threat to its plans.
Ryan, agent of Chronisis, checks his watch as Otiak trains. He steps off his rock and walks forward with his staff. "It's time."
Otiak turns to him and blinks his yellow eyes a few times before nodding silently. "I'm ready."
"For the sake of your home, I hope you are. The portal will be opening in just a few moments. This is the only one that will take you back. Once your task is complete, we can finish the rest and fix everything."
"Find the entity, destroy it, save all of reality, and get my body back," Otiak says. "Right, I got it."
"Remember that we won't be able to help you. We cannot make contact nor alter anything in your favor. Everything that happens from this point on is the actions of mortals, and not Elder Gods, Chronosis nor the Agents of Time will be able to interfere. You'll be on your own."
>>43499962
Otiak clenches his scaled fists and repeats, "I'm ready."
Ryan stares at him from beneath his expressionless mask before checking his watch again, his most common habbit. Nearby, a glowing portal opens, the swirling vortex manifesting in the blink of an eye from nothingness and growing large enough to encompass a man.
"Any idea where this will take me?" the saurian asks as he approaches it.
"A place you have never been. It is called Seido, the realm of Order. Watch out for the guards, for their laws are very strict."
"Alright... Here I go." He pauses at the portal before looking back to Ryan. "I'll see you again?"
"If all goes as planned, in your own body next time, yes," Ryan nods. "Good luck."
Otiak steps through the portal and finds himself thrown across realities, his body twisting and contorting in impossible ways. He closes his eyes, for there is too much to see around him; different places, people, timelines, worlds, events, possibilities--far too much to take in all at once.
>>43499978
When the strange and surreal transportation ends, the saurian finds himself falling through the opposite end of the portal and onto hard stone. He shakes his head and looks around, finding that he is on an impossible stone platform with a single bridge leading towards a massive collection of straight-edged buildings surrounded by floating platforms, connected by straight or perfectly rounded streets of floating stone.
The sky is filled with floating pyramids arranged in an orderly pattern. He can see perfect symmetry in almost everything around him, from the buildings to the layout of the platforms and bridges. Even the stars in the night sky appear to be arranged in a specific manner. Looking over the side of the stone platform he is on, he sees only a blue void of clouds far below.
He scans the city before him and sees perfectly-straight rows of trees and man-made rivers that flow straight and evenly, sometimes curving and other times angling at ninety degrees. "Seido... the realm of order," he says to himself. He's only heard of this place, but has never seen it.
The portal behind him closes, sealing off any and all outside intervention. Now it is up to him.
>A) Disguise yourself and sneak around the realm
>B) Attempt to make contact with the locals
>C) Search the realm for any portals you could use
>D) Spy on the guards and other locals; pick up conversation

Remember, ask a specific question, we'll be happy to help. But if you're vague, we'll tell you to make your players fight necrons. Probably.
I've been looking over the Fear and Loathing, and The Fringe is Yours books and I thought the character creation is actually pretty balanced. Has anyone tried to make a Tau or Necron in their game? How did it pan out?
>>43499765
there was exelion, or however you spell it, which was tau/deldar which seemed to work. Necrons i didnt even bother looking through since i doubt i'll ever get a group able to play them well.
Lore question-If the eastern fringe is Astronomicon-free, are all warp jumps done via calculations, or can a sufficiently skilled navigator travel a few hundred lightyears from system to system? Basically, can my homebrew sector on the fringe function well enough to have 3 millennia old settlements?
Fuck yeah, new thread.
Tell me about derps your group had done.
Mine, being Ordo Malleus cell headed by the inquisitor disregarded a daemon which tried to kill them for the sake of retrieving some documents from a noble's mansion, mission impossible style.
We left the subsector after the heist and have completely forgotten about daemon on the loose up until now
>>43499990
The rogue Trader thought that, after going through most of a sector's biggest and baddest in order to snatch a (mindwiped) Man of Iron before anyone else did, the best course of action was to give his prize to the Mechanicus in return for an archeotech plasma drive, rather than keep the thing which was perfectly capable of tearing through necrodermis with its bear hands. Of course, it ended up with Chaos snatching the thing from the cogs and became the BBEG, but he was damn proud of his plasma drive and thought it was a good swap

Starting to see why this died off.
It's a wee bit late.
Anyone painted up the new red banner set yet?
This month's WI proves once again that the people who cry that it's just become an ad for FoW are talking completely out their arses.
One tiny, 3-turn batrep for Team Yankee, a couple pages preview of the new box sets, and the entire rest of the magazine is dedicated to all other conceivable gaming periods. The Fucking Russian Civil War gets more pagespace than team Yankee.
There aren't even any ads for regular FoW at all.

Talk about your novel! What are you doing, what do you want to be doing, how far are you, and what are your plans?
Oh, there's an IRC, too #tggoes50k on Rizon
Maybe someone here can give me advice.
When they say you should write everyday for practice, does it have to be fictional writing, or do you just write whatever, as long as it's a certain word count? Because I want to be able to tell stories, that's the main thing.
Also, how do you avoid the pitfall of starting to write something and then just being paralyzed for whatever reason? It's like I'm worried that I'm fucking up what I wanted to convey, and can't bear to continue murdering the meaning. Makes me feel like an idiot.
>>43493596
I feel similar. I just have so many problems with the very act of writing. Typing or writing both have their issues, and it's very hard for me to get over the tactility of it and the difficulty in arranging thoughts once they're put down.
As for writing practice, you should generally write what you want to write. Writing grocery lists or something academic probably won't help you write a narrative. But describing and narrating something from your life that isn't fictional probably will.

On the topic of Vermintide: Anyone going to make a Mordheim Warband based on the... fivesome?
how many warmachines and engineers should a 1000 point dorf army include?

Do you hide your hobby /tg/?
Whenever someone sees my collection, they always get weirded out and and ask why I have little plastic men and tanks, and why i'm painting them. It's hard to explain, because whenever I say it's just a hobby they get kind of judgmental anyways.
You kidding? My horribly unkempt modelling station is about six feet from my front door.
>>43492654
Makes me sad that 20 of these guys were used for fluff canon fodder just to make one character seem oh so much more powerful.
>>43492654
no. im proud of them, and when i was teased about them last i said its toy soldiers for adults.
an ex did see one of my little female figures, though, and ask me flat out if i got off on them?
i may have stumbled and answered no its just a game but yeah i do get off on the tiny pewter tits.
>An single Emperor class ship and its crew find them selves in the Halo universe at the start of the Human-Covenant war.
How much help would it be?
>>43492456
whats on the ship?
>>43492456
they singlehandedly win the war without so much as a chip on the paint. an emperor class battleship packs 1000x the firepower of an SMAC which able to one-shot 3 covenant super carriers at once.
>>43492768
A few regiments of Imperial Guard, a shit ton of ammo and supplies, and a million people crewing the ship.
What kind of magical punishments would a fantasy kingdom inflict on criminals?
>Instead of prison, criminals can be sentenced to a length of time petrified as a statue.
>Cheating at gambling earns you a curse of misfortune.
>Blasphemy is punished with being forbidden from receiving magical healing, from priests of any god.
>Outlaws convicted of stealing farmers' livestock are polymorphed into replacement animals and forced to work on the farm until rehabilitated.
>Those who use magic to commit crimes must wear special bracelets locked to their wrists that prevent spellcasting.
>The man who tried to assassinate the halfling merchant-prince is reincarnated as a halfling himself.
>Disobeying the king's officials means time under mental domination serving the kingdom.
>Regicide is punished by death and reanimation as a terrible undead creature bound to guard the royal bloodline.
What plot hooks flow from them?
>Thieves have robbed the tomb of the last king to be murdered, potentially unleashing his murderer into the city. Unfortunately even the court wizard doesn't know what will arise should he need to perform the ritual to execute a regicide.
>One statue in the museum-prison was petrified centuries ago, for crimes that must have been horrific but at the same time are unrecorded. But the sentence is nearly over and the petrification will wear off soon...
>>43491627
Which crime would get punished by being genderbent?
How would robbing the King's tomb unleash his murderer on the city? I don't see the connection.
>>43491840
Public lewdness, probably.
>>43491627
So, what about financial debts that go unpaid? Or kidnappings? Or slander?
>>43491840
Crossdressing in public? Fuck knows.
Thoughts?
>>43490968
Are they meant to correspond to MTG lands?
>>43490968
>>43490968
That's an awful lot of land for dwarves. Though the idea of a huge high fantasy world thats divided up among the races by geography is cool.
Another thread got me thinking and I figure /tg/ has a few but anyone got amusing or clever stories, schemes, or usage out of polymorph or similar magic?
Closest I have is the time our fighter managed to convince the DM and party wizard to polymorph him into an arrow and dismiss it just before he hit a target for extra charge damage
>>43490546
Classic "stupid fighter" syndrome. Clearly, you should dismiss the polymorph AFTER hitting the target, so as to explode them from the inside. Not to mention, that extra damage comes at the cost of taking a ton of damage yourself because you're slamming into the target at arrow-from-a-bow speeds.
>>43491146
You know, technically, turning back into yourself while being into a person's limb would also crush your bones and organs as well as make that person's limb explode, so I don't know if that's worse than de-polimorphing before hitting him.
>>43491401
Nah. Rules clearly state that, when changing size via magic while in an area too small to accommodate you new size, you get a roll to burst the enclosure, and the only thing that happens on a failure is that you only grow as large as the space allows. At worst, you'd get shunted out without harm to either you or the target.
