Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony, but everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. The world slowly smoldered as the Air Nomads were eradicated by the Fire Nation, leaving nothing but empty homes in their wake. The Fire Nation has already started a full-scale campaign on the Southern Water Tribe, beginning the cycle of death anew.
Fifty years this war has raged, scorching the forests and destroying lives. Many have died and all hope of the Avatar's return has been extinguished, but life goes on. The walls of Ba Sing Se, Omashu, and the Northern Water Tribe have held the Fire Nation at bay, seemingly nothing can penetrate them. As always, there is also solace in wandering.
But this isn't a story about the Avatar, or a king, or even a hero, this is the story of Kuo, a wandering Firebender.

You sit in a chair across from the man who might have been captured if not for your help. He is currently face-first on the table with a mask half hanging off of his head. He has no clue how close he came to being kidnapped, and you think you know why Noppera didn't just run. He was not sent here just to capture Piao, otherwise he would have done it before the party, he was also here to meet with someone. The woman in the doll mask comes to mind, no doubt a member of the Dai-Li Triad.
A house servant brings a pot of hot tea to you and bows deeply but, so as to cultivate your image as being frazzled, you grab the pot directly from her hands. It isn't the least bit painful, you accidentally lit your arms on fire once, but you fake a yelp of pain and let go before picking it up. Obviously holding back laughter, the woman sets the pot on the table and quickly walks away. Across from you, the drunken general lifts his head.
"Hmmm... wha was- oh Dong, what're you doing here?" He grumbles a bit and rubs his face.
"Y-you passed out and the Guard showed up. E-everybody left, but I figured it would be rude to leave without saying goodbye. Tea?" You pour a cup of tea for yourself, a brew favored by the lower class you realize, smelling more of dirt than tea.
"Yeah, thanks for staying Dong. You're a good friend, shame the King didn't show up, would've loved talking to you. Heck, the Queen would love you, you're more... agreeable than most of the nobles." You get that he's implying you are submissive to others, which is very good, exactly what you want people to think. You pour him some of the tea.
[1/2]
"This is hardly the kind of brew I would expect in this house- n-not that I'm saying you have poor taste! But, what's the story if you mind me asking." You are kind of interested in how a man with so little decorum became a general. He laughs a bit, then he seems to sober up.
"Unlike those other generals who started as Captains and the cream like that, I crawled my way through the mud, made a name for myself, fought for every title I earned." He pulls up his shirt revealing a multitude of burn scars."I reached the peak at Commander, but then the King came through my post and liked the way I work. Next day I got a letter from him offering me a position as General. Best day of my life, my family was so proud." He seems to look a bit morose.

I rate it terrible. Lack of speed attacker kills it.
If a 6 mana creature doesn't do anything the turn it hits the board then it's garbage.
>>43595123
What about the many support cards for armored dragons? You could conceivably cast it for 3 to 4 mana and any support cards that perish along the way strengthen the overall power rating.
In every fantasy setting, there's always a white washed feudal system where peasants happily work their land while being seemingly literate and educated while overseen by similarly fair lords. If there's an exception to this it becomes the complete opposite where a clearly evil lord is oppressing the completely ignorant and helpless peasants.
In sci fi settings its the same thing but replace the lords with democracy/corporations depending on if its good or bad, and peasants with citizens. Are there any interesting ways to mix up the governments in your games, fantasy or otherwise.
>Communist Agrarianism
>Tribal Nomadic Mercantilism
>anarchy
>pic related, technocracy movement.
I had a city state in a D&D game with an unusual method of government. Every citizen of the city wore a crystal ring attuned to them, which contribute part of their psychic energy to a unified psychic construct which acted as a benevolent dictator. It knew the minds of all its citizens, understood their wants and needs and always acted to be the best ruler it could, as well as being a terrifyingly powerful psychic entity if the city was attacked. It brought up some interesting questions of free will, privacy and personal freedoms, but my players eventually decided it was generally a good thing, and one of them actually retired to the city state after it was over.
Part of the campaign was them tracking down and destroying a conspiracy to try and take control of the construct by amplifying the input of a select group of individuals, using psychic powers to conceal their intentions from the unified construct until it was almost too late.

You can do what you want in your stories/games, but don't pretend like you're the first one to ever come up with the idea of realpolitik fantasy governments.

Theofascism (clerical fascism)
As a programming exercise I will be making an action RPG that uses coloured ASCII graphics. I aim to release it by the end of the year.
So /tg/, I welcome you to brainstorm ideas for the plot and setting. Ideally I'd get a writer, but I think that's too much to expect so I am merely asking for vague directions.
I'm interested in all themes so I'm open to anything really, but as a guideline if you want to know my passions, they are sci-fi, murder/thriller/mystery, alternative history, war and politics, exploration in general, and space exploration.
I do love medieval-style settings as well, and a present day or future scenario wouldn't at all rule out forests, villages, sword fights, etc.
If the game turns out well, I may take it even further once completed in its initial text graphics form, as I progress.
The picture is NOT of the game by the way - it's a screenshot from another game to demonstrate the style of graphics I'm shooting for.
Sure, how about we shoot you some moon-logic puzzles, and you yay or nay them?

>they bring a new blood
>cool guy, bit quiet
>play a few games

>me and new guy both dead
>trade while the game finishes
>goes through my binder and gets to the back and sees pic related
>it's fake but I don't say anything becuase it could ruin potential future trades
>pulls it out, we make a trade, he slots it into a deck
>everybody is happy
>feel slight guilt today
What would you guys do in my situation?
I meant to take the card out ages ago but always forgot to.
What are your experiences with fakes so far?
>>43593699
>>43593699
I'm fine with proxies. Any playgroup that doesn't let people use proxies is a bad one in my book.
I think that fakes are stupid, and especially paying for them. Trading fakes for real value is reprehensible.
You're suppose to suck dick not be a dick. But what did he trade you? If its a jace the mind sculpture, you are a dick. If it was a origins mountain yeah okay whatever. You need to tell him and give him back his card let him keep your fake. Tell him what's up and maybe make up a small story of why you didn't realize it was a fake right away
Let us create a hive city guys!
Here are the rules for creating this hive city:
>1: Only one post per Anon
>2: The post can only contain one thing. e.g: "a spaceport", or: "a lush garden" etc
>3: With that one thing you can also add if you feel like it; something extra to make it special, eg: a maglev station is infested with mutants, etc
>4: It takes 3 votes from 3 diffrent Anons to remove something from the hive
>5: You may also add some stuff about the planet the hive is located upon
>6: Have fun!I was also the OP in the "/tg/ makes a spacehulk thread for those who were there
>>43593678
An enormous red light district.
It's on a moon orbiting a glass giant
Due to extreme solar effects and a strong geo-thermal power source, the entire hive is effectively built upside-down, with the rich and oppulant living on the lowest and best-maintained levels while the poor and destitute suffer in the spires.
So let's be realistic for once /tg/
How can we make CM work again?
>>43593453
>get into contact with GW license department
>get to work to make a first demo with a first impression
>get the license because they currently hand it out to every cunt out there
>sell it on steam at a moderate price
So what we need if we want to be ambitious is:
>2-3 dedicated coders who can communicate over github
>at least one artguy/pixelartist
>at least one writer, /tg/ would probably help out
>a solid concept, CM is a good base but obviously needs a bit of work and refining
>a non-autist who can get into e-mail contact with GW's licensing department or whatever handles that shit to present the game, possibly via e-mail, hopefully in person
bonus points for:
>lots of community interaction during developement as the best ideas and criticism often come from there
>quick implementation of community suggestions (the guy on /d/ who does free cities would be a good example, as he literally does it with several suggestions nearly every day, though that's only really possible due to the simplicity of the game and because he spends several hours on it every day)
>boring/busy work done by /tg/'s anons, we'll need a shitton of names/locations so you can either take them from CM or let others come up with them instead of wasting 10 hours of time with doing it yourself
>smooth lay-out of the game
>fitting music
To be honest, it's really not THAT difficult if you think about it, the reason why nobody does it is that they lack the incentive and that nobody actually DOES it.
The first step is always the hardest.
>>43594218
Is there a /tg/ IRC channel? Chances are that you'd get more done there than here
>>43594218
Didn't Duke even post his design document?
It's pretty bloated though
/tg, i wanna know. What would you want in your perfect setting?
>>43593212
>what would you want in your perfect setting
This can go so many ways. You're gonna have to be more specific
OP Here, What do you want in the perfect rule-set as well? I intended it to be a discussion on tabletop mechanics, but I brain farted, so we'll do both.
futanari catgirls
[It is my second attempt with an adventure, so I'd like to try a one-shot adventure also in order to improve my DM skills]
You open your eyes as your alarm goes off. You're an otaku, a guy with an insane passion for manga and anime. You don't have friends except for your otaku friend. You never had a girlfriend. You don't know how much of this is your fault, or due to the circumstances of your life: you've never been attractive, you've never been very confident, and you've never been very social.
You're 26 now, not hopeless as your friend Mike, who's 30 now, but not hopeful for a change either. With a bitter smile you think that at least Mike can enjoy the powers of wizardry, while you still have 4 years to go.
Well, at least you do no longer live with your parents. You live in a small flat not too far from the comic store you work in.
You head there for another boring working day, thinking of how flat your existence is.
[1/2]
>>43593153
The customers come in one after the other, and before you realize it it's closing time.
You start closing the shop and putting things on their respective shelf. No sooner had you closed the shop for the day, that you noticed an odd girl running towards you. Clearly wearing a white whig and strange clothes, she was holding a pile of booklets with her arms. You try to evade her, but she crashes right upon you, sending all the books she was holding on the ground. You get up, help her get up, and help her gather what, on a closer analysis, you seem to recognize as mangas.
The girl, who is wearing red contact lenses, apologizes, and tells you she was trying to bring these comics back to the store. You explain that the store follows a strict no-refund policy, and the girl nods sadly.
However she smiles at you, and offers you a reward for helping her out: you can take one of the comics she was carrying around for free. She has no use for therm anyways, she claims.

Rolling only works in 2e where your stats weren't all that important once chargen was completed. Rolling in 3e is just asking to get railed by bad luck.
You could roll straight 9s on a 2e fighter and still be a very capable warrior.
I like rolling because it means I can blame luck rather than myself for my shitty stats.

Is it possible to create superheroes/demigods on REIGN?
And if yes, would it better be done with Esoteric Techniques or with Magic, making it related with Attunements?
>>43592301
Answer to first question is "Yes".
You can cobble together a "super-human" character using pure stats, but I don't think REIGN goes into the rules for that sort of stuff... ah yes, Nemesis has the rules for dice pools "larger than 10", basically once a character gets a Dice Pool that would be larger than 10 (were it not for the 10 die limit on all rolled dice pools, obviously) then the fluff for what's being done increases in a measured way.
Note that that's on top of using Esoteric Techniques and/or Magics and Attunements.
What's interesting about Reign is that you can fluff gods (and thus demigods) in a very unique way by building a god and their religion as a company with "divine magic spells" and buffs divine casters get from being members being stat'd up as "company assets" - making a demigod in that form (though the mention of "superheroes" means this probably isn't that relevent) you basically give the character access to the more "martial" "divine powers", like self buffs to strength or abilities to buff skills in the god/religion's general domain so many times per day etc...
Wild Talents, anon. Look it up.
>>43593545
I might be dense, but I do not see much potential with going over 10 for a superpowered feel other than when facing puny mortals.
I do like that idea for the Gods to operate on the Company level; specially if one consider the supplement they released on how to handle fights between Companies and mythic invulnerable creatures.
Firearms in fantasy. Yea or nay?

Nope. They destroy the climat completly.
