It's been a while since we talked about this - how do you feel about the old Stormtrooper design compared to the Tempestus Scions now?
Honestly? I quite like the redesign. Something about the how bulky and almost puffy the old stormtrooper armour looked, the helmets and gasmasks also just looked wrong. Not even in a old school 40k shitty tech kind of way, like a bad art direction kind of way.
I also like the new armour because it makes them look more gothic.
I just wish Terminator armour wasn't so iconic, because the fucking helmets are so hideously fucked up looking IMO they need an update. At least I have the Forgeworld Terminator armours.
New Scions are probably my favorite army right now, because they look so badass. I'm not the biggest fan of the beret's, but I don't have to have them so it doesn't bother me.
It's a damn shame that the codex is meant to be an ally instead of a full army in and of itself, maybe it will grow into its own if it gain popularity.
>>43613065
I like both methods I just wish they have released the new ones alongside the old ones like this is such and such pattern carapace armor >>43613201
Yeah Terminator heads are ugly however there are a few modifications that make them look better so at least there's that
Hey /tg/, I'm trying to write an extremely easy rule system for my lazy and stupid group. if you don't have anything better to do, give it a look and tell me what you think of it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
8 point for character creation divisible between
atk (governs any offensive action, strenght and damage dealt)
def (same defense oriented)
int (governs any mental skill and perception)
agl (everything that goes into movement, coordination and speed)
hp are determined simply adding def stat and the class bonus.
classes give access to specific skills (tbw) and give starting bonuses
fighter= +1 str, +1 def +2hp
whiz= +2 int
rogue= +2 agl, +1str +1 hp
every level advancement, characters can choose a single new skill or spell, or choose again one they already have to increase its level (tbw)
and they gain a total of 1+int/2 points that can be used to increase their stats. to increase a stat at 1 you need 1 point, a stat at 2 needs 2 points, and so on. hp is also increased this way.
Use FAE
>>43613041
there are two types of skills: active and passive. a character can equip a number of active skills equal to his level and a number of passive skills equal to his level/2
active skills can be used indefinitely, but need a turn of recharge.
passive skills are always active until the player switch them off or activates another passive skill, that overrides the one currently activated. if the
character have multiple passive skill slots, the player can choose what skill is overridden. activating a passive skill takes an action.
there are two types of spells: basic and great. a basic spell can be cast every day a number of times equal to the int stat. great spells can be casted
only a number of times equal to the character level/2, minimum 1.
every character gets 2 actions every turn. some skills or spells need both actions
to perform a difficult or out of the norm action action you need to make a check on the pertinent stat. roll1d10 and if you obtain a result equal or
inferior to the stat, the check is succesful. some skills can raise the number you need to roll or make some checks succeed automatically
when you roll a 10, you have a critical success. critical success doubles the effectiveness of the intended result. in case of critical attacks, it doubles
the damage, rounded down. a target that is attacked when inconscious or unable to move receives automatically a critical attack.
>>43613078
hitting a target happens automatically if the target doesn't parry or dodge. targets in defensive stance take only half damage.
if the target dodges, the attacker does an atk stat check using the target's agl+1d10 as difficulty level
if the target parries, the attacker does an atk stat check using the target's def+1d10 as difficulty level
in case of critical success, the target can attempt to land an attack of opportunity. in case of critical failure, the taget is considered unable to move.
damage to the target is calculated by subtracting the def stat of the target+eventual bonuses from the atk stat of the attacker+eventual bonuses, and
then subtracting the result from the target hp.
characters can assume a guard stance. guard stance reduces turn actions by one but halves the physical damage received and makes attacks of
opportunity impossible. being tripped, disarmed, stunned etc break the guard stance.
attacks of opportunity can happen when a character is performing a noncombat action inside the reach of another character, when a character guard
stance is broken, or when a dodge/parry is a critical success (10). attacks of opportunity have -1 to hit and damage, but they can score a critical hit with 7+
How would you improve this?
>>43612930
All sorts of nasty flying creatures nesting on the edges of the pit, so no would be adventurers would be able to bypass the kick ass dungeons that easily.
>>43612930
>>43612959
Nah nigga, that's the trick of it. The pit is a shortcut, but once you've sacked the city and packed away all the loot, you realize that you're deep underground with a heavy load and none of the floors above you have been cleared.
You also realize that all those suspiciously convenient shelf-like outcrops along the sided of the pit as smooth as porcelain on the undersides. The real boss lived in the skull the whole time. You just burned down the condos included in the legion of evil's advanced retirement package.

I imagine I'm going to see enough of the bad with less effort.
Pic related. According to Worm it's what will happen when I combine Call to Greatness, Lost and Forgotten, and Dowsing from TES.
Water > Wood > Metal > Fire > Earth
Water > Fire > Earth > Air > Void
So /jc/ how do you manage your companions?
I'm getting tired of trying to decide which ones I want to take into a jump and which ones are in need of a buff.

Me and my girlfriend and I play a few different RPGs together now (DnD, Through the Breach, Risus, Dread). She's gotten really into it, which is fun, but she recently asked if there's any more... explicit RPGs.
She seems to think that there are RPG games with dice-rolling and everything where the characters go one weird sex adventures. I guess this is a weird idea of foreplay to her, and she likes the roleplaying aspect.
I have never, ever heard of any "sexy" RPGs that aren't people dressing up in cheap batman and catwoman outifts. Do these games exist?
>>43612879
You, your girlfriend and yourself might want to look into Book of Erotic Fantasy. Alternatively, there is Nymphology Blue Magic, but that one is more tame.
FATAL
>>43612879
just use existing systems to run lewder-centric rpgs.
Rulesets don't make sexytimes better, honest.

Alright, so Leigh's been poisoned by a spider-riding lady, Ansi might be some sort of felon, and just after making enemies of the duo trying to capture your comrade for cash, you've been left with no option but to work with them to help fight off Dracozombies that Gonzo just announced were coming.
Yulea, having been hurt back in town, needs to get that taken care of then get everybody out and moving after your lot.
Clint and his dumb hat are quick to take charge of the situation. "Alright, figure at the rate Gonzo here said they're flyin'... We got a couple minutes to ready up at the most."
Ansi waves a healing staff over Leigh's unconscious form. "That should buy her a bit more time, but I don't keep poison-curing staves around. Blame Une here for not carrying around antitoxins."
"Hey, she's the one who didn't build up an immunity to this stuff," Une then jerks a thumb towards you, "and this one made the mistake of trying to fight us. His girlfriend paid the price."
>A. You admit that
>B. You didn't expect Une to do that!

The surface of the moon has become a large scale salvaging and research operation as Dagger and Osjiic ships and wrecks are stripped down. Think Tanks control Cyclops and Talon troops as they investigate the wealth of knowledge and Stingers and Trolls cart the scrap metal to bubbling cauldrons deep in the moon base or carted back to the surface of the planet.
The emotions of the new collective of enslaved minions roils before you as their minds and hearts yearn for rescue or fall into despair as they're driven to assist your undead. Engineers and technicians are interrogated by inquisitive Think Tanks, their knowledge and skill the only thing keeping them from the Cauldrons.
You sit on your hovering throne, desiccated cliff-jumpers swaying as they await your whim, within the main hangar of the moonbase. Lorgul stands by your side while the two new Void Disciples, along with Jor and the Voidsinger stand nearby. In front of you are gathered the leaders and commanders you've enslaved.
Tapping your fingers together you look over these living and unwilling slaves. They would break and call you Lord soon enough. They knew what awaited them. You had demonstrated the power of the Cauldrons before them, making them watch as their dead were tossed into the liquid and the undead emerged.
You find yourself feeling...at ease for the first time since your imprisonment but you know it is short-lived. There is much to do now. A fleet to build, systems to explore, soldiers and weapons to create.
There was no rest for the dead, not in your new Necrotic Armada.

Sub-Admiral Estkri glowers at you, her mechanical eye clicking from the damage caused from your battle, but keeps her calm facade despite her fury bubbling beneath her skin. The tall netu,, Clanship Captain Krotur, glances at the Osjiic but turns back to look up at you with his four eyes, disgust filtering through the numbness he felt at losing his fleet. A collection of Osjiic and Dagger officers and ship captains keep themselves separated as much as possible as they await in silence.
The Osjiic mutter among themselves and glare at the stoic Voidsinger. Jor dressed himself in the best the Colony had to offer but it merely made him look pompous in the room full of hardened warriors, leaders and undead but you could feel his pride at standing in your grace and inner circle. It amused you but you do not crush his prideful hopes.
Your audience waits for you and you mull over just how to start your questioning. Maybe with such high-ranked minions you could finally get some more concrete answers about the state of the galaxy.

You prod the corpse with your foot, nudging the robes further open. Where you had expected to find a wizard was instead a tall and slender creature fashioned from white wood. And not bolted or hinged together either, grown together as if it had seamlessly emerged from the earth this way. It is humanoid in basic shape though one of its arms ends not in a hand but a staff-like growth. It is faceless and once you pull the robes all the way off, sexless as well. A mockery of the human figure but without any of the details.
Needless to say, this is probably not Old Bart. According to Eugene, it’s probably the work of a spirit of some kind but you don’t know how good of an explanation that is, considering that he arrived at it by process of elimination.
Behind you, Hiss seems to be trying to boss Eugene into spontaneously developing more knowledge on the matter. You can understand her frustration, having been denied a soul that had already escaped her once.

You are Abigail and currentl your in a heated fight with your Elite Fleet and Ghost Ships of the dead against a Republic War Fleet with a warpgate. Fortunately for you their war fleet is currently engaged with brutal combat with your own elite fleet amongst the floating wrecks surrounding a encapsulated star. The Star and its facilities are invaluable harboring both ancient secrets and the ability to mass produce anti matter.
Unfortunately the enemy has a warpgate and the attempt to sneak attack them by using your ghost ships combined with wreckage has been caught onto. Now they dispatched some of their robotic forces and freshly called in reinforcements to deal with the problem.
You however are not to be underestimated as a child genius in such matters you have without training dealt with far tougher situations. Admittedly you ARE going up against a super genius and mastermind...but you rather doubt that person has the training you do for these kind of things.
What do?

On a side note you get an extra fatepoint as I missed last game without even being especially ill. I just got the days mixed up.
I don't know where the last few threads ended as they are apparently unarchived.
No it wont be the end of the world if you lost this match but it would be much more awesome to do so as Petyr. Next round if it occurs is a Invasion round...which is basically a confused clusterfuck of space and land combat.
>>43612607
Burn a fatepoint and I'll accept it.
>>43612624
Actually, not a bad call since we just earned a freebie.
Also I'm torn. We could win this one and secure what we all want "abigail to win"
But the invasion battle sounds fun as hell. But then, we risk losing that to Petyr, and that is not acceptable.
Hmm
SO using 1d4chan's female asset genenerator.https://1d4chan.org/wiki/D20_female_asset_generator

Well, bards and sorcerers might also go in for high constitution with their charisma, in the former case if they want to get into close combat because woo swords, and in the latter case because eh what else do they need. So they'll probably compete.

ITT: Self-drawn character portraits.
You've all done it at least once, so show your work and comment on the character if you'd like.
Just to be clear, this is not a drawthread. Just a showcase of your own artwork depicting characters you've played.
My first character was a demon hunter who targeted succubi and inccubi to avenge his father who was killed by one. He ended up getting killed by a lich who had a harem of succubi that my character was unknowingly hunting down one by one.
Wysteria was a halfling Druid Geomancer that eventually became more plant-matter than flesh. Her weapon of choice was a blowgun tipped with various poisons she brewed using plants in her grove. She eventually retired when her body became so plant-like that she took root in her own grove and became one with it.
Here's a goblin gladiator for old DoD.
I never used it but I intended this to be the final boss of a campaign I was running.
What's your character's backstory?
Why are they a murderhobo, or whatever it is they are? How'd they pick their career, do they have any specific reason to want to violently murder the BBEG?Storytime encouraged, but not required

Soldier battling in the mines of Ypres during WW1. Found an Abyssal Temple period deep underground, complete with warped cultists praying to a mind-blasting abomination. Was forcibly awoken by the sight and discovered that most major mortal wars were engineered by supernatural powers. Since then went on a quest to stop said influence.
Not going so well.
she was bought from her mother at a very young age by aztechnology and used for experimental gene therapy, mutagenics, and 'ware testing. she survived it, so they jammed a persona fix chip in her head and started using her as an assassin, most typically for wiping out runner teams that had reneged on a deal or played false.
Then on the way back from her last deployment she mustered up all her willpower and slammed her head against the wall of the extraction helicopter as hard as her augmented muscles would allow. It was an attempted suicide, but she only managed to fracture her skull, and short out the chip in her head.
With her, by this point deeply insane, "real" self in control of her body she promptly murdered everyone aboard the helicopter, realized she didn't know how to fly a helicopter, crashed, and limped off into the city slums.
Tiefling that Grew up in slums and turned to crime to survive.
Eventually managed to hire a demon specialist to help him track down the guy who made his bloodline like that, she worked cheap and yadda yadda sappy love story.
Eventually manage to figure out how to contact who they think is the fiend who's responsible for it and contact him. They ended up contacting basically the fiend version of Trazyn the Infiniteand he offered to make him a warlock because he needs an errand boy.
Well, he and his GF get captured by rival criminals, she dies, he spontaneously manifests mind bullets and slaughters them by accepting the offer, and now he's traveling the world looking for magical items to send to his boss.Who also has his GF safe and sound in his collection because who else can claim to have BOTH halves of a pair of star-crossed lovers?
