You are randomly approached by a group of representatives from Games Workshop and TV Tokyo. They've chosen you to create a Warhammer 40,000 anime. Aside from having to be 40k-related, the anime can be whatever you want.
What do you make? A Yu-Gi-Oh-esque series about playing actual 40k games for the fate of the world? A canon-accurate adaptation of the Horus Heresy? A slice-of-life about a group of moeblob Sororitas?
Slice of life high school Horus Heresy.

Let's try to have an items thread. Mundane, magic, whatever. I don't necessarily mean weapons and armor, but there's no way I can stop you from posting that!
So let's talk about this game. Got it myself recently and so far I'm really getting into the fluff, even if the way it's written is not conventional to usual RPGs.
Favourite cultures/cults so far? I'm getting a big boner for the Paler cult, love their fluff and atmosphere.
Haven't seen an english pdf yet. Difficult to talk about it any further than "I think this is neat and want to get my hands on an english copy".
>>43711590
Well I'm glad you contributed to the thread.
If its going to keep getting shilled this hard, you're going to have to accept that it will get pirated.
>An inexperienced rock thrower from the Stonegash tribe
Assuming this man lives long enough to become a a high-level warrior, what kinds of weapon upgrade might we expect? What would a rock upgrade path look like?
Vorpal rocks.

Bigger rocks.
This is Boruto Quest, a quest set in the universe of Naruto. It is during the generation of Naruto's son, shortly after everyone has graduated from their Genin exam. I haven't kept up with the series beyond the end of the original one, so this one is intended to recapture the feel of that time of Naruto. I will not be incorporating the main show or the Boruto movie's plot into the quest, although some recognizable characters will be present. You play as a 12 year old Genin graduate named Takeshi. You have been assigned a Jounin squad leader named Hanto, and your two squadmates are Kichiro, a young delinquent, and Ai, a strange social outcast of a girl. You are of average skill in most aspects, although your sharp intelligence has recently been making itself apparent. The Chunin Exams have begun. The preliminary fights are under way!
>>43711253
Same time as Laze again. Wow you have to plan this.

also FUCK the fucking thread posted even though I aborted. The title is missing again, oh well.
First post incoming.
Shikadai vs O.
The names overhead come to a stop, and you hear a weak groan echo in the room nearby. Inojin laughs while Chocho steps forward, next to Shikadai. "C'mon, get your head in the game! Go down there and kick his ass! You're the son of the smartest shinobi in the whole village, that's something no one can deny!"
Shikadai groans and starts to walk down the stairs. "Yeah yeah, I get it. Let's see how this thing goes, I guess.."
Across the balcony, you can see his opponent moving. The Grass village headband displayed proudly on his forehead, it's an older male of about fifteen or sixteen. He has medium length hair, blonde and swept back. It also looks as if he's starting to grow a slight mustache, looking more like whiskers above his lip. His eyes hold an air of intelligence. O takes a few steps forward and leaps down, his long brown coat fluttering to the sides. Underneath you can see that he's wearing a tan flak jacket.
Shikadai walks down and stands across from him. You note that Shikamaru doesn't seem to make notice of his son, preferring to remain professional and impartial.
O scratches his chin, tilting his head up slightly and smiling. "I don't have any information on you. I'll have to make this up as I go along, it seems. I hope you've got something tricky for me to figure out, or this isn't going to last long at all."
Shikadai grins. "Funny, I was just going to say the same thing to you."
Shikamaru throws his hand down. "Begin!"
>This is a quest taking place in an alternate version of the Naruto world during the same time period as the story, with a few notable differences. You will be playing as Kon Karagowa, a young Leaf Jonin. Your character is defined by your choices, so write-ins are always encouraged. And remember to have fun!

Are your PCs still slaves to materialistic pleasures, or have they transcended earthly desires for a higher purpose?
Money is a higher purpose.
>>43710078
Vow of poverty, every time.
My purpose is to get money, then to spend it on MORE MONEY.
How would one update the mythos to the 21st century? Tentacles are boring. "muh inscrutable angles" is hard to pull off and underwhelming, and the idea that humanity is not the center of the universe is not really a big deal for most people.
You go back to the core of Lovecraft.
You see the shadows of Eldritch shit
You gain wisdom from seeing it.
But it also slowly drains you insane.
Bloodborne would be a pretty good game is Insight scaled to 99, instead of 30-40(and barely that)
>>43710066
But HOW?
Not OP, but what wisdom should they learn? The idea of other worlds and strange elder gods is old hat now. What knowledge is maddening?
>>43710165
Modern humans already go insane over the horizon of doom.
It doesn't take a lot.
Time to answer the one question that have plagues fantasy roleplaying since the dawn of time:
What do you do with your captured high-ranking lieutenants/BBEGs?
Or if you play a evil character, what do you do with your captured heroes?
err on the side of spoilers if your plans involvelewd
As a GM, my players have historically tortured/maimed them for info, then left them for dead. Recently though, one of my players has decided that murdering prisoners is in fact evil and is trying to reign the group in.
>>43710020
We tend not to have survivors.
>>43710020
If I'm DMing a game and I want an evil character I'd have them mind controlled and sent out to attack the kingdom, making them look nasty and giving them a nice bit of room to get free and take a break from the main story or come straight back for revenge.
If I'm playing an evil character I find out what I want then kill them. I don't bother with torture since firstly I hate roleplaying that shit and secondly torture is obsolete in most systems.
If I'm good I kill them after a proper trial. Good doesn't mean letting obviously hugely powerful murderers go because you're queasy about killing all of a sudden.
Spooky thread?Erma gerrrrrd.

Too cute.
Your relaxing stay at the island resort has taken a turn for the strange when some of your friends seem to have fallen under some kind of amorous spell that causes them to become obsessed with you. Well, even more than they already were. Normally you wouldn't mind, but you can spy a possible disaster on the horizon. You need to fix this, and fast.
Whilst you haved some from the Burning Heart spell, Yui Oomura and Hiroko Shimada are still afflicted, and obsessed with you. Shun disappeared into the jungle with them, and you can only hope for her safety. The rest of you have to plan ahead...

You are Makoto Kiryoka; a teenage boy with a penchant for getting into strange situations. You bear the power of the magical girl Maiden White against the wicked souls that seek to terrorise the innocent.
>>43709968
"Shun!" You shout out into the jungle. Your voice doesn't travel far in the thick foilage, and with the day starting to reach its end, your vision ian't terribly useful either. Still, you persist.
"Shuun!" You call out.
"She's not here." You hear Saito mutter behind you, searching just as you are. About an hour ago, Saito was just obsessed with you as Yui and Hiroko are now. Thanks to Shun distracting them, you managed to alleviate her heart and restore her to normal. But now the girls have nabbed Shun and you doubt they have anything good planned.
"Makoto, this isn't working." Aoi says, brushing leaves out of her face. As much as she wanted to return to her normal gender, in the bikini she's sporting right now, it probably wouldn't have been the best idea.
"Do you have a better idea?" You ask, leering back. She shies away from your stare.
"I guess not... Shuuun!" Aoi shouts, echoing you. You can tell he wants to head back and recuperate, but since this whole thing was kind of his fault, he's certainly in no rush to ask for that. Still, you're starting to feel the fatigue as well. They must have transformed back at least, or knocked her out - you can't sense any of the three girls.
[1/2]
>>43710021
Suddenly, Saito pauses and feels around in her jacket.
"Uh, hello?" She asks. "...Oh, Umeki? You're fixed too?" She comments, holding her phone. You stop and look back at Aoi. She turns to you and hands you the phone. "She says she tried to call you first."
"My phone is back in my room." You reply, taking it. There wasn't exactly pockets on that string bikini...
"Hello?"
"Oh thank goodness, Makoto!" Umeki answers happily. "I have good news, I found the children!"
"That's great, Umeki, but keep in mind Yuuki is still afflicted." You remind her.
"Mm, right. How are you going?"
"Got back Saito," you grunt, climbing over a rock, "lost Shun."
"Oh dear. Is she alright?"
"No idea. I don't think they'd kill her, but she's probably not in perfect health." You sigh, thinking about it. "The real problem is I can't track them."
"Hm... do you know anyone who could?" She asks. Nothing comes to mind, other than Robo perhaps. His sattelite could probably come in for an assist, but you'd need your phone or Yuuki to contact him. Shizuko might be able to help too; she seems to be fairly good at stalking, if memory serves.
"What do you think?" Umeki asks.
> Keep searching, just the two of you.
> Keep searching, alone.
> Get Yuuki on the phone.
> Tell Saito to keep looking, head back.
> Both of you head back and regroup.
>>43710041
>> Get Yuuki on the phone.
Hopefuly we can bribe him to keep him in place while we deal with the other two.And Umekia can act as a soft distraction

For all your questions on Dark Heresy (1st and 2nd Editions), Rogue Trader, Deathwatch, Black Crusade, and Only War.
What is the worst abuse of fluff that has occurred in your games?
hell yeah, new thread and without shitty copypasta.

**Trigger Warning**
> Massive autist questions incoming
My only other experience with tabletop RPGs is Pathfinder, taught to me through the DM. (I've never read the books.) I was just there for fun doing my best to play a character and to go with the flow when the dice started rolling 1s all night.
Anyways, I have been reading the deathwatch rulebook, but holy crap; there's A LOT to digest. Is deathwatch particularly loaded, or is that the nature of any RPG? I'm willing to keep trying because the D100 system kicks ass imo. Also, how does damage work in this game? If I'm shooting a bolter and some shmuck, I roll a BS test, and assuming I get 3 hits due to degrees of success, what happens from there? Where do the hits land? and when does damage get applied? Halp ; ~ ;
tl;dr - Run me through a round of combat pls
>>43709478
Not sure if any of my players lurk - but...
Session was great. Was running one of the apostasy gambit adventures where the players pretend to be relic inspectors so they can assess the cardinal for heresy. They got really into the relic inspector roles and forgot they had a job to do.
They also tried to help out with an exorcism in exchange for information. The exorcism went wrong and now Daemonhost - with the players, unarmed and unarmoured, barely having made it out of the room in time while it was busy killing the exorcist. Session ended there.
There's a Sororitas contingent on site, who'll probably execute them when they realise they aren't really relic inspectors and they've summoned a daemon.
Very excited for the next one.
Hey /tg/ I want to run a fallout pen and paper game, I've found Retrocalypse as well as well as Fallout Pen and Paper 2.0
The other day I saw someone else post a pdf for another system here(was definitely fallout, it had Vault Boy on the first page) but couldn't save it because I was on my phone
