I wanted to get a new and hopefully reoccurring general going about all the Powered by the Apocalypse games that people might be playing.
>Apocalypse World
>Dungeon World
>Monsterhearts
>Monster of the Week
>Murderous Ghosts
>Nanoworld: a Game of Clones
>Sagas of the Icelanders
>The Sundered Land
>Tremulus
>Urban Shadows
I know that Dungeon World had some popularity here, and I've seen the rare Apocalypse World thread, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the other games. I have a Urban Shadows game going right now and it's all I wanted from a World of Darkness style game and more.

What's this one about? Clones are always pretty interesting.

Titan World is another good one if you're into weeb shit.
>>

I googled that for you...
http://www.finemessgames.com/nanoworld-a-game-of-clones

Is Titan World based off of AoT? I would adventure in that world so hard.
>>
Don't forget World of Dungeons & its hacks.
I'm doing Shadowrun with a Streets of Marienburg hack I made, which I promptly called Streets of the Sixth World. It's classless, so players just choose two skills, two special abilities, buy some stuff and bam, they've got a shadowrunner.

Recap:

Previously, you discovered that the Vice Administrator of GEC, Rebecca Shan, was a serial killer. Her husband, who you also suspected, turned out to be a child molester who killed mostly to continue his relationship with his wife.

On the orders of the VP, you tracked down the husband and wrested all this information from him before faking his death and handing him over to your underworld contacts.

With that out of the way, you conducted a short extermination from which you retrieved several live specimens, with the intention of selling them back to Crusty and Co.

After speaking with Crusty in the last thread and putting off an offer of employment with his organization the mysterious “Remnant”, you returned Vice-Administrator Shan’s daughter to her and agreed to dinner with her and her family later that evening. Then you debriefed with Devlinson, who expressed his affection for you as only he could, and journeyed to the GEC labs to speak with Clarissa Jones, who you paid for the files on Jeremy Yu. Clarissa also gifted you one of the termite queens you had previously captured from the Shan household and a wealth of data about it.

Once you had left GEC HQ, you turned on the tracker you had planted inside the still-living Mr. Shan and were mulling whether or not to follow the signal before it is possibly discovered.

Your van and much of your equipment is being decontaminated after being exposed to highly agressive mites. You have made a mental note to purchase body bags for contaminated specimens in the future.

Is this a good plan? You’re not sure if this is a good plan. The little marker on your Illegal phone is blinking, moving through Kowloon. They must be moving Shan somewhere to detain him but whether or not they’re headed to the current headquarters of the Remnant is debatable. Plus, you’re not sure if you’re still being tailed or not. So far no one has been so stupidly obvious as to pull up behind the Elevon but that doesn’t mean they’re not watching…

No longer bound to a single world you reach your grasp out to new stars. Your newly crafted general Predator Nekris commands the first of your FTL-powered ships, exploring a nearby star.

Think Tanks pulse with increased power and knowledge, the Cauldron-born soldiers moving with a grace and cohesion they had lacked before. The wrecks of the former Osjiic and Dagger fleets are converted with increasing speed and efficiency, the first group of Corvettes and Frigates lifting off the surface of the moon as their shields glimmer into being.

Your living enslaved work and toil on Horizon's Drop, former warriors reduced to farmers, ranchers, miners and hunters to fuel your conquest. Loyal subjects are already emerging among their ranks. Jor, the very first being you subjugated upon your release, was a valuable asset at keeping the populace motivated and in order. The nameless Voidsinger, who's heart of ultraviolet flames consumes him a little more each day, has come to see you as a worthy leader and commander after growing discontent with the Osjiic Empires rule.

Even among the the original colonists your power has impressed and awed a number of the population. Despite the drastic change in leadership their life has remained mostly unchanged if a little busier than before. The Osjiic and Dagger were being slightly more resistant to your charms, the metal spikes weighing heavy in their bodies with their loss still fresh.

It is time for you to make your claim on this universe.

You are Jadyk the Conquering Worm and the Galaxy will fear, may even worship you in time.

Completed Research:
>Stonestar Dissection: The strange creatures you've dubbed the Stonestars, they have no true name for themselves, referring only to their clan names and titles, are strange creatures. Five-limbs arranged radially around a central body, the stonestars brains are partially distributed throughout the limbs with the main hub of the body devoted to its digestive system and other internal organs. Their bodies are mildy caustic naturally and they appear to use that to create armor and camouflage for themselves out of volcanic rocks. The corpses you studied show signs of vivisections and surgery scars, several of their limbs containing long obsidian carved blades, a trio of stingers much like your Sting Whip, and at least one of them had a large acid gland at the base of one limb.

>Beached corpse dissection: This strange marine creature is quite large, stretching nearly 30meters from tentacle to flat tail. It's hide is made up of dense hide and blubber, its body showing many scars both old and new. It's underbelly was a mass of undulating flippers it used to move in nearly any direction in the water while its tail was used for speed and travel. It's face contains a mass of tentacles and cilia covered tendrils surrounding a circular maw filled with grinding teeth. With no eyes to speak of it appeared to communicate and visualize its surroundings with electroreceptors and an organ that could produce and receive sonar signals. It's tendrils would snatch small fish or eels to eat or draw in large amounts of the fast-growing kelp.

>Ship Fuel Harvesting/Refining: By repairing and studying the two smaller refueling and processing stations on the gas giants moons your Think Tanks can now create refueling plants with their own harvesting drones to collect the gases from gas giants used to fuel FTL engines.
>>
>>43934228
Gained:
>Cluster Sting Whip: Similar to your original Sting Whips, the cluster version has three smaller and weaker strength barbs. Instead of a grappling or disarming weapon the barbs of the cluster sting whip are hollow can deliver a toxic payload from the venom or acid gland at the root of the organ. Cost: The venom or acid glands cost

>Sonar: By adding a special organ to a units neck and chest cavity they can now emit and detect sonar signals that are out of the range of hearing of many races. Allows vision in aquatic areas but useless in a vacuum. Cost: 2B

Your new Stonestar captive complains of the dry and cold air compared to their humid planet but they follow you around your original Mining base carefully. It's large eyes examine the alien world, the first of its kind that it knew of to leave their world and travel to a new one.

Lorgul and Agona work tirelessly, organizing troops and inspecting the installations of weapon mounts thoroughly. They were eager to tend to your warmachine and even more eager to test out their might against a worthy foe.

Nekris sits in his chair of bone and muscle as his corvette drifts through the distant system once his ships rejoined. There were still two more world for him to explore in the light of a foreign star.

There was much to attend to.

After a lengthy playtest, (which was pretty much a whole campaign) we feel the system is finally ready to be shown to a wider audience.

DCZ is a Dragon Ball Z-themed system based very loosely on Battle Century G. The idea was to create simple, fun battle mechanics that would emulate the fights of DBZ, but also maintain a fast pace, without excess crunch.

Though we initially started out on the system with just our campaign in mind, we feel it would be a waste not to share it with others. We had our fun, made mistakes, learned from them, and applied fixes where necessary. Now, we'd like to ask you for your input.

seems interesting, i'll have a look. how'd your game work out?
>>
>>43934662
Combat rounds were resolved quickly most of the time, RP worked out decently enough for the most part. I say for the most part because one player almost seemed to go out of his way to "unintentionally" find major exploits in the way rules were worded to make certain combinations unbeatably broken. I've got a graveyard of at least 5 major version revisions.

Barring that, the game went incredibly smoothly. Though the rules are very barebones so if you're the GM, you kind of have to just get creative with how you stat things sometimes.

Superbug indiscriminately kills 50% of the planet. Preppers and survivalists are equally hit as random office workers. Suddenly, no power, no water, no food. The number of dead first-worlders due to lack of sanitation and refrigeration compounds, and all those corpses mean plenty of regular diseases to thin out the initial superbug survivors.

XXX!XXX DISCLAIMER TO OBSERVING JANITORS/MODERATORS: XXX!XXX
This thread does not violate Globals 3, 4, 8 (disclaimer is not critcizing administration, only clarifying that
no rules are being broken to prevent mishap and confusion), nor 11. as it is not advertising
Minecraft nor attempting to persuade the transfer of money from user to advertiser nor
owner of the Minecraft server mentioned nor the creators of Mumble. As well this is a
community project and thusly is extremely on-topic, this is not a /v/ oriented thread this
is a /tg/ oriented thread. Sorry for the long disclaimer, just don't want a janitor deleting
the post and flagging me even though I'm not breaking any rules.

Hello! I am the de facto emperor of Tyguria (/tg/), a small joint Bay12 - /tg/ town
on a server called Civcraft. Note: Pirated clients do not work on Civcraft, still trying
to pull the stick out of TTK (owner)'s ass about that since pirates could still be banned for
breaking server rules ( rules only apply to the metagame, everything you can do in-game
is legal) like anyone else.
About Civcraft:
"About civcraft; civcraft is a unique minecraft server with several mods in place that practically make it another
game all together. It is a server for political ideologies and nation-building. Due to forced scarcity and changed
growth mechanics, living as a lone wolf is near impossible. Civcraft has really only 2 rules; No doxing, no hacking
(includes x-ray). Everything else from legal matters to a method of banishment called 'prison pearl' is done by the
playerbase in game. This has created huge conflicts standoffs and even world wars in the past, resulting in the loss
of ten of thousands of diamonds and accounts being permanently banished to the end. Unlike most servers, civcraft does
not reset making resource harvesting and reinforced builds a permanent fixture."

When I originally settled the town I figured /tg/, being one of the several boards I lurk
would be perfect for this server due to the potential for roleplay and its
plugins which can make a game that can be as mundane as Minecraft interesting.

In previous months, there was a union of all the Chan boards that particpated on this
server (The ledditors there hate us) called Chanada. It has since fallen apart due to
shittery by the /k/ group's leader (/k/ is dead now) and lack of population in most
towns other than /pol/. In the interm between this anarchy and whatever new union
Tyguria as well as any remaining Chan nations are struggling to become stronger.
My goal now is to post this shill thread consistently and if anyone is interested, they may
check out our community.
Tyguria is, as I stated, a small community. If you wish to remain near a bigger and more
active populace while you learn the ropes and can handle sick banter I'd highly suggest
you start in Volkstadt, the metropolis of /pol/ynesia.
The plugins are all easy to pick-up and understand, there are not many guides detailing
them though. The Civcraft wiki [http://civcraft.gamepedia.com/Getting_Started] provides decent explanations; however,
there is a better layman's guide on the /civ/ Crip-chan board. I won't link that in the
thread though to avoid breaking the advertisment rule. I don't really like crippel chan
anyhow but the /civ/ allows us to communicate better so whatever.
Civcraft has a Reddit board for all the dregs of the server to circlejerk on, but I hate Reddit
even more than eight chun so I won't bother posting that link either. Trust me their's sub
is cancer.
Here's a list of the major plugins in case you already know how they work:
NameLayer, Citadel, JukeAlert, RealisticBiomes, ItemExchange, CivChat2

Getting started:
Civcraft random spawns you at any point just about on the map. There is no teleport so
you will have to make a long journey to make it to Tyguria most likely.
You can kill yourself to respawn somewhere else, try to aim for ~3000 blocks from Volk or
Tyguria if you choose the Sudoko Positioning route
-If you choose to start at /pol/, go to (500, 7500), you can use F3 to check your
relative map coordinates.
-If you choose to head directly to Tyguria, go to (-1190, 9220). I will be waiting there
to receive you and give you a sort of tutorial as well as provide basic housing.
Since the city is small I'll probably make exceptions to the no-shitshacks policy by
allowing you to inherit land early on to build personal houses.
There is also a Mumble server, which makes it EXTREMELY easy to coordinate withothers
from /pol/ and /tg/, you don't need a mic for Mumble and it's free so please use it.
Mumble Server Address: mc.civcraft.vg (Scroll to the bottom to find /pol/'s channel, I'll have a
/tg/ one made soon)
If you are interested in joining the server address is: mc.civcraft.vg
To make it easier on me in terms of inviting you to the /tg/ groups (Citadel plugin)
for long range chat feel free to post your IGN in the thread.
If you need help you can use /pm the_bob_namg assuming I didn't fuck off for some
reason and I'll help you. I will also be monitoring the thread and responding to any
questions or feedback so ask away!

Man, I remember the old /v/ town. That thing's still kicking around?

Having multiple races in a fantasy setting is a common trope - more common than not - but has /tg/ ever considered the ramifications of having a world where several different species have developed and live aside one another? Particularly in the mindset of those who live there?

Most D&D-esque high fantasy settings treat views and relations between the different races as more or less extensions of the those between human cultures. Sure, these relations run the extent between deep alliances and utter racism and oppression but ultimately they play out the same as between different humans in the real world. Would it really be that simple?

How would the existence of elves and dwarves affect the human mindset concerning foreign cultures? Would they consider them more alien than other human civilizations? Does a human kingdom surrounded by elven, dwarven and other human states view the non-human ones through the exact same filter in terms of both potential benefits and threats? And how does the objective existence of non-human races affect humanities views on religion and their place in the universe (assuming a non-objective mythology)?

What about when the non-human races have a variety of cultures spread all over the world in the same way humans do? Does a human view a non-human next door as more alien than even his furthest flung human cousins, or do they view humans from another continent as more alien than neighboring non-humans- and if so, do they view the non-humans from said another continent as even MORE alien or roughly the same as THEIR human neighbors? How does the existence of elves affect a pseudo-white human ethnic group when they see a pseudo-black human ethnic group for the first time, assuming they recognize the other human group as humans and not a third race?

Obviously, these viewpoints will differ from person to person but there ultimately has to be a sort of baseline for most races when exposed to a completely separate species.

Well, taking real world experience into account.

We honestly treat other races, and even other Tribes the same as other species. This has a ton of historical precedence.

Ever heard of dehumanizing the enemy? It's so we can kill them better.

We don't forgive our own species for alien ideals, you think we'd forgive some other species?

Since our brain is extremely good at picking up patterns, we'd likely develop stereotypes against them, just like we would against a different human culture, or a pet dog.

In my homebrew, the race's are all subtlely racist against eachother. This would be advantageous to survival, so could easily be an evolved trait, however, they're all created by very jealous "gods" so it's more like the way a white blood cell would view something with different Antigen's than the host.

I've never told the players, but the way I describe the other races to them reflects a viewpoint even they don't realize is skewed.

That's my one dollar, ten cents.

Is there a difference between how different races view each other and how they view other ethnic groups within their own race? Does the existence of the forner at least affect how they view the latter?

Where the fuck do I start when it comes to unique astronomy and the logic or science behind it? Planes, flat planets, dyson spheres, living on the back of a giant turtle hurdling through the cosmos and all sorts of other junk. Are there any references or history behind examples of these types of worlds?
It's so hard trying to just find a starting point.

What are you even asking? If you're looking for hypothesis on how it would play out then refer back to the novels of the authors you're referencing, Pratchett, Niven ect.

Read classic mythologies. Egyptian, Greek, Mayan, Norse, etc. They've all got some weird neat shit in them to take inspiration from.

Have some sort of consistent forms/magic/numina thing to connect otherwise impossible ideas, and you're set.

Maybe a sketch pad for doodling maps. You can look at old cartography. Its neat.

I'm looking for any steps used in the process of constructing an expanded world, really. Does the solar system come first? Or the geography of the world the campaign will take place on? It's hard for me to work on something new without a reference point.

Have you ever seen a headline or a short article description that sounded just like a campaign prompt? Example, I just happened across this (pic related):

> This town could be yours for $250,000
> Swett, S.D., includes 6 acres of prairie, a garage/tire shop, one home, and the local bar.
> 'A good place to get killed'

... curtsy of a random yahoo tab. Honestly I find myself uncertain whether I'd rather run that or play it, but either way it sounds like a delight for an already established party.

(I haven't read the story myself, but link for anyone interested: /realestate/town-swett-costs-less-house-202739328.html I honestly can't recall whether we can post direct links or not, so just throw it on after the yahoo part.)

It just keeps getting better:

> 'its only home allegedly haunted'

> a man passing through commented that “you need a Bowie knife to get in this place and a chainsaw to get out.”

> The bank even installed new signs for the town. “The old ones had bullet holes in them,”

In a faraway land, more far-flung in credibility than in kilometers, there was a secluded forest.

And in that forest, in the cozy, smoky shade, dwelt a peculiar people known as the Lanternfolk.

They were a gladsome bunch and rather jaunty too, as one might expect. But times were changing...

The resources they were using to keep their flames lit was quickly becoming scarce. A new reserve or new source of fuel is needed or the civilization dies within a year.

Things were looking dim as the gas supply dwindled with each passing day.
