Welcome rudebois and rudegyals to the latest edition of Star Wars A New Quest, two sessions in a row recovering from extreme exogorth use.

The last thread went for 25 hours before night night, a new record, one that i don't aim to beat today though. the 8 hours i spent sleeping count, shut up!

>Last time on STANQ; You cleaned your kitchen, tried to gauge police feedback time by stealing a purse, got caught by the 3 ninja jedi you know who you world's fastest splits falcon cunt punched and force juggled and ting, got home, find out more about the nature of the heist, head to the jedi temple to win a fight and get athena poon only to bleed out into a coma when you finish at which point the quest would've ended if you'd rolled badly cos i don't fuck about nigga , are interrogated by the jedi for sith activities and theft of the purse which you dutifully replace and pay the fine for, 68 with the tsun padawan trayce who brawls with athena who's depressed because she thought you two were an item but you "i'ma furee spirit, rastafarii!" her back to acceptance, get breakfast, make them kiss and make up a bit too far too far, meditate a lot, release the beast some more, commit the heist, appreciate your new armour, got kryan'd, was a big brother to a little orphan wookie child, backstabbe a double double-saber jedi with four arms instead of dueling him because the cunt broke your teacup, and that's where we left off.

You have 1 edgelord point saved up, and having collected 15 lightsaber blades have achieved your first unlockable!
Which is... a platinum belt buckle with the exogorth on it with an eye of amethyst and teeth of topaz, that can be removed and function as a knuckle duster, and your force rage, force repulsion, force speed, force mind trick, force ghostly gazelle, and force mind crush all gain one level!
The next unlockable is at 25 lightsabers, then after that at 50! Collect them all!

You look down at the dead body of the Sith sent to kill you after picking up his two doublesabers, the colours of which you don't know since he never actualyl activated them.

You guess he was listening out for a lightsaber humm to block or dodge, not a straight up Bowie Knife Sith Artifact being plunged into his back, especially since you seemed so honourable.

Teach him to break your fucking mug, the fucking mug.

How does the warp work? If it's just a collection of souls and emotions then how can the eldar gods die
49 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
warp always existed with the material world, however it became hostile and dangerous with emotions of living beings and subsequently chaos. emotions and actions give birth to gods but they can be killed which doesn't mean that the related souls/emotions are destroyed though because they exist even without the persona of the related god.

the idea of khorne had existed looong before khorne woke up and with khorne's death it would still exist
>>
>>44245116
So could the eldar remake their gods by believing them to be alive
>>
>>44245039
The Warp is thoughts, beliefs, and emotions of all life across time and infinite realties. It's a reflection of the material world, but the beings in it can influence it if they desire to. Without it there would be a meaningless soulless existence (see Necrons), but if it dominates the material world reality would be destroyed and you would have a meaningless lifeless existence.

The reason why it's a nightmare and why everything is taken to the extreme dates back to before humanity existed. The War in Heaven changed the Warp, and then human emotions helped three out of four of the parasitic Chaos Gods to become self-aware. The birth of the worst Chaos God falls on the Eldar though. As for their Gods, they're still alive but trapped in Slaanesh's stomach. Minus the Laughing God, Khaine, and Isha though they avoided Slaanesh's digestive system.

Fire Emblem Awakening build:

Lord
Large body, black hair
25 years old
Tactics 100
Charm
Single Pauldron 300
Support 600
Roster 800

Ramona
Tactician
Tactics
Solidarity 100
Tip the Scales 300

Anna
Aversa
Miriel

Elixir 850
Rapier
Parallel Falchion 1000

Been retconning the shit out of the current run recently due to my decision to have 8 female companions. Initially I was doing the standard 'me and a male bodyguard' thing I've done in previous runs as it makes things less complicated and easy to remember. Then I did Light of Terra pretty early, ended up with Shauphezh and 4 Sisters of Battle and I figured in for a penny.

My bodyguard is now a tall slim dark haired ninja/secret agent type from Venture Bros called Ramona. Chose the name as it means protecting hands.

Recently reretconned it as I decided to ditch the Sisters of Battle as I couldn't remember their names, descriptions or who was who so I settled on canon companions instead. Instead replaced them with 3 characters from Fire Emblem Awakening using the canon companion option and Kaylee who I podded out of Firefly.

Went with Lord as I like the Single Pauldron option, was spending most of the CP on undiscounted stuff and figured having a Falchion would be neat. Imported Ramona to give her some tactical insight and an improved dodging ability when near allies which is pretty useful for a bodyguard, mostly did this as I had a spot left open on the Roster option as you pay for 1, 4 or 8 (not entirely sure whether it says you can mix and match canon companions and imports but I made the jump so who's going to stop me? Nobody that's who.)

Chose the companions for specific qualities. For one thing I didn't want anyone who had a lot of ties in Fire Emblem Awakening, taking characters with a lot of family and ties always seems like it'd make the transition a bit harder.

Thread topic: How can you make Nefarites, razides and the other demons interesting in a modern setting? The Nefarite design especially have become outdated and very corny ever since people realized that Hellraiser really wasn’t that scary. So: how can you make these demons of hell truly frightening and unnatural for players that have seen everything already?

>Martials start off at an incredibly realistic level
>Birthright and extreme amounts of training can allow martials to perform clearly inhuman feats
>Requires an almost autistic level of swing sword 2 hit gud
>This strength can be augmented with magical artifacts.

>Mages are physically weak.
>Magic takes years to study, and the mage is unable to act while channelling magic.
>Magic has a truly impressive amount of miscellaneous/utility uses
>A little bit of magic is still enough to contribute to the party.
>Magic can unleash utter devastation on the scale of natural disasters, but it leaves the caster completely helpless and comes with it's own dangers.

This setting is objectively the most balanced for Caster/Martial balance.

I keep hearing that, but I've 1) Not actually seen that many CoDa/WoD games on there and 2) Those I've played in were pretty okay though one player - despite being cool otherwise - seems overly worried that the dots he dropped on Contacts, Allies etc are being invalidated by the story.

So tell me, what's the issue with them?

You're not sulking. You're really not.

No, what crosses your mind, as you're leaving that dismal and unhallowed church, is the memory of Mother Maya's illusions. They were cruel things, used to distract and subvert even as she herself set about destroying her victims, but wasn't there a little bit of you that enjoyed their lighter moments? Would it not be nice, perhaps, to sink back into one of those pleasant fantasies – as opposed to the nightmare delusions that the demon herself favoured – and escape the pressures of the real world?

Pressures like the ones that have apparently driven Cassandra over the edge, pushing her right into the company of beings you considered to be enemies. Pausing, allowing the cold air to bring a rush of fresh clarity to your mind, you resolve to tell Amelia about this as soon as possible, and see what she has to say. Until then, of course, you're on your own, placed in the unenviable position of trying to fumble out the “right” thing to do.

Your name is Mia Vespucci, and you're starting to think that you could do with taking some of the pressure off as well. A few pleasant delusions, you muse to yourself as you stroll through darkened city streets, would be lovely. You'd settle for a good night's sleep, though – you're pretty sure that Amelia never had to deal with such a lack of rest, in her day.

Elliot.jpg

>>44244137

Back in the fairy kingdom, you quickly come across Elliot, sitting casually on a small section of marble stairs. He's almost perfectly still – so much so that your eyes slip off him at first, taking the eccentric young man for a piece of elaborate sculpture – save for his hands, fiddling and fidgeting with his little silver flask. It's been a while, you recall, since he last pulled out that particular foppish affectation – perhaps the stress of this new world is getting to him, as well.

“Heard you were out on your own,” he scolds, with an attempt at paternal authority. It's not particularly effective, though – that kind of gruff masculinity has never sat quite right with Elliot, for some reason – and you can only offer a faltering smile. The reminder of your father, coming after the inhumanly long day you've had, is hardly welcome. “Yes, well,” Elliot, noticing your ill mood, clears his throat, “Petra managed to arrange some rooms – lord only knows how she was able to swing it with the boss though. “

Rooms. Bedrooms. Sleep. As the thoughts run dizzily through your mind, you find yourself nodding to Elliot's comment and lurch past him, following the pointed finger he extends. You'll find your way there, no problem. It's not like this entire palace is built like a maze or anything.

In the end, you stop at the first door that has the sound of movement coming from behind it and barge in, all thought of manners lost beneath the weight of the day. The good thing is that your guess was the correct one, and you find yourself staring right at Petra. The bad thing, is that she's not exactly... dressed.

“They have showers here,” Petra grins, oblivious to the fact that her upper half is clad only in a short, tight top, “A joke, yes? Buckets and cold water, that's all.”
>>
>>44244146

Buckets... and cold water?

“You've never tried it?” Petra's grin deepens, “Lucky girl.”

Stammering out some vague, formless reply, you glance down and notice – to your great relief – that Petra is wearing her usual trousers, battered and stiff with dirt. Her abdomen, tight with muscle, catches your eye – or rather, the spreading inkblot of a bruise that colours the flesh there. A relic from your battle with Kagutsuchi, and one that still haunts her if the occasional wince that flashes across her face is any indication.

Reminded of your own injuries, you look away from the redhead and examine your mask. It took the force of Dionysus' blow – a thin web of cracks marring the surface – but still, your face was hurt pretty badly. Peering at yourself in the mirror, you flinch at the sight of the notch gouged from the bridge of your nose, now healed to a gnarled scar. Marco, when he sees this, is not going to be happy.

“Mia,” Petra asks as she runs her fingers through the loose hair spilling down her back, teasing out the countless knots, “You saw Cassandra? Is she... well?”

Now that's not a question you could answer in three words or less. Physically well? She had all her limbs and both eyes, so that's a thing. Mentally? You couldn't say. You really couldn't say.

>It was a private conversation. I'm sorry
>Cassandra... might be a problem

Orc 1.jpg

You are Ur'shal, Chieftain of the Stonetusk Clan and Warlord of the Wastes. Your clan now numbers some three hundred adult orcs, with many more whelps growing by the day, and regular forays into the deep wastes is bringing in a steady trickle of nomads and petty clans through word of mouth and the occasional display of force. It's nothing compared to the hordes commanded by the great warlords of the Warglands or the Reaver Isles, but it's a start, and it's large enough to deal with your current rivals at least.

You have spent the past week marshalling your forces and further drilling the clan's hierarchy into your newest additions while you await a response from your scouts testing the route through the tunnels. Today is the day, and the scouts have brought back news which is mostly positive. Two were lost to the ever-present threat of Kulakin and subterranean creatures, but there is nothing along the route which would be a threat to your main force, which should have no trouble slipping around behind the Shifters' defenses.

What you have gathered from the captive Shifter is that their alpha commands around one-hundred and fifty of her kin. They have no fortifications or defenses, preferring simple wood shelters where they choose to build anything at all, and instead rely on their knowledge of the terrain and their own natural physical prowess. It won't be an easy fight, they're quick, vicious, and their regenerative abilities are a pain, but without time to properly prepare themselves for your arrival, you've no doubt your warriors can carve through them without crippling losses.

Of course, you are aware that you have more than one rival to worry about, which does beg the question of how lightly defended you wish to leave your camp during this long journey.

The Curl of the Sea is an elegant but relatively small ship, slightly smaller than even the frigate Rubel captained before, measuring barely twenty-five meters, and not thicker than six at its widest.
Still, it FEELS larger: there is a lot of walking space on the deck, which is unencumbered by the coils of rope and the complex rigging or the multiple masts of other ships: a single metal-and-wood mast holds a wide triangular sail, without any need for rope or knots.

Other than the mast, the stern castle, and the swivel mount for the prow cannon, the deck is clear save for the crewmen, most of whom don't seem particularly busy: the workload must be light for them.

"How many crewmen do you need to steer this ship?" You wonder at Rubel, as he shows you around the boat.

"...At bare minimum? After seeing how it handles, I'd say I could run this with five people if I'm desperate. Of course, that means no one to man the cannons, fix battle damage, do emergency maneuvers, or such."

"And to handle the ship at its best?"

"At best I'd need fifteen sailors, so we're about twice overstrength." He says, taking you inside the stern castle. You've already seen a bit of it: there's rooms for the officers - quite cramped, but it can't be helped - and bunks for the crew - even more cramped. Stairs go down to the hold.

"Where's the Warstrider?" For some reason Tia got fixated on that detail.

"There's a compartment in the hold, connected to the deck via trapdoor." Rubel seems clearly worried by Tia's interest. "But it's barely working, I was told. Princess Irene barely finished stripping it down and putting it back together. It's mostly for show. It can walk around slowly and that's more or less it."

Tia sulks a bit.

The tour brings you to the aforementioned cannon. Three crewmen stand by it, their brand new navy uniforms already heavily customized with bandannas and other loudly colored accessories in typical pirate fashion. No one bothers to salute Rubel, and he doesn't seem to mind it particularly, but they do get twitchy and nervous when they notice you and Tia following him, Unsure of how to react, they salute you clumsily.

"We have only twelve shots?" You have to wonder.

"Two more crates are in the hold, and, well." He looks at you. "If we're in need, you or another Essence user could recharge them?"

Well, you never did that, but how hard can it be?

"Speaking of Essence, there's something you should see." He leads you back into the stern castle, and up to the top, a raised platform with a rather unusual-looking rudder wheel, black wood and silver with brass studs. One of his men is holding it straight, piloting the ship.

"The rudder?" You ask.

"Princess Irene explained us that someone with command of Essence could pilot the ship on his own, commanding it without need of a crew to handle it, and powering the paddlewheels to even drive the ship against wind and current." He notes.

"You need me to do it?"

"Well- no, not now, I'm just saying that these ships would be a lot more versatile and useful with a crewman with command of magic on board, as helmsman." He notes.

<With a large hole in your armor.>

You look down and blanch. There /is/ a hole in your armor, where the spear got you. Amy is double-checking her equipment, which is what you ought to be doing, but it would be really bad if you got killed - again - in the same spot. Then again, these people have already been so good to you...

>Enters the Battlefield effect

Hm, might fit in (Goblins has a way to cheat in fattie goblins with Lackey if I remember right), he just has to compete with Goblin deck's other 5 cmc finisher, Siege-Gang Commander. I don't think it stacks up favorably against that, as Siege-Gang lets you burn down your whole team for lethal whereas this is probably going to grab... what, a lightning bolt?
