It's a stupid ideal that never works in the age of mass communication. Someone will find the optimal strategy, and they will post it online for others to read, research and improve on. That is the state of things. You might pine for a simpler time but unless you go out of your way to establish an arbitrary, restricted scenario for it to play out in, that is not the way things will go.

Unless I'd not only be checking out spoilers, but revealing them to other players, at which point it's the GM's prerogative to kick me.

I could see them associating one of the sexes (or even having more than one of them in the first place) with something that they have come to see as negative behavior or a bad evolutionary quirk. I don't know about "should", but it could be believable if you frame it well enough.

You can also cast it during upkeep before they draw

that card is kinda good, if you have the board on your side. The trick is, of course, get to that point.

It feels kinda like a budget extra turn card.

Also classic Reynolds art. Good use of light source to highlight the distorted facial features.

Opponent can still activate on cards already cast and attack as normal. The only people who would have to sit out a turn due to this card are those playing 0 creature burn decks.

That said, this is pretty busted for 1 mana.

Well, first off you're immune to dying from any disease. The itches, bloating and flesh-eating symptoms? They're all still there. Constantly.
Those are all gifts from Papa Nurgle, gifts you ought to share. In fact, every new disease you contract is just a new way of spreading Nurgle's love to others- especially the servants of the Corpse-on-the-throne.

Now Nurgle characters I've seen are usually one of two personalities:
>Grim, death-bearing tallyman, or
>Gleeful spreader of disease.
If you can find a better way to express a follower of Nurgle, go for it. He's the chaos god of despair, but despair to the point that you have nothing left to lose so you might as well be happy about it.
To a Nurgle cultist, everything is going to rot away eventually, why not help it along? It doesn't need to be a grim affair either, after all Nurgle does what he does out of a form of love, not hate.

A third alternative is what I take to be Nurgles true nature. (headcanon ho!)
Nurgle is an abusive partner. He binds you to him with disease and squalor, such that no-other will love you. Only he and his followers will, but they're all as broken and damaged as you. Eventually you'll end up just like them, bitter and resentful and searching to fill that hole in their soul and heart with the empty love of mind-broken sycophants. Just like they were to another person once. It's a vicious cycle.

Because of the "magic = technology" concept that gave birth to such thing as airships and magic trains. They feel technology outdates magic because you no longer need magical trains once you get actual trains. Needless to say, even in modern war the ability to drop a nuke by snapping your fingers (see what I did there? I once again compared magic to technology!) would be useful.

It isn't about making magic obsolete, It's about a peasant being able to beat a Magician, which totally ruins their nerd power fantasy.

I've never really been as invested in someone as Nanachi is with Mitty, so that's pretty hard for me to say.

It would likely depend on how much pain they're in and how dangerous they are to the people around them. Life can be worth living even if you aren't human anymore, but if my friend wound up like Mitty... I dunno, man.
