What's /tg/s opinion on dice towers? Some players in my group use them and they seem pretty useful.
Is it worth getting one? And if so what kind? Anybody have tips about making one by hand?
>>44259857
Dice-rolling cups are better.
>>44259881
How so?
>>44259881
And dice poppers are even better yet.
Modern Jund is fucking awful.
>Be at Modern FNM in college town, so bunch of poorfags.
>Playing janky $100 monowhite hatebears
>Opening round, see Jund for first time in several months, due to college poorfags.
>It durdles and kills some of my creatures with bolts and terminates
>Gets out 4/5 goyf.
>I Journey to Nowhere it.
>He drops Lilli.
>O Ring
>He drops Bob with 9 life left.
>First Bob reveal is Maelstrom Pulse. His next turn he reveals Banana boy.
Game 2 was surprisingly similar.
How is this tier 1?? Wtf can this beat? It's a goofstuff deck, I understand, but it's a random fucking pile of cards with little synergy.
>>44259677
>it's a goodstuff deck
>a pile of cards with little synergy
that's the definition of a goodstuff deck friendo
>>44259714
That's what I said m8.
>>44259677
>my opponent had terrible draws and I drew all the answers I needed
>why the fuck do people call this deck good?!
So, you doing an arts degree?
Simple question:
Been watching Bleach lately.
What system(s) would do a decent job handling a Bleach campaign?
Obviously something entirely narrative such as FATE could do it, and Mutants & Masterminds could also handle it.
The design goals of FATE simply don't match up with my tastes (That kind of narrative control doesn't fit the kind of game I enjoy).
Mutants and Masterminds has great chargen but the gameplay is bland and samey, and falls flat.
Are there any other viable options?
>>44259651
Bleach classless D20.
It's pretty great. It uses D20 as a base which is eh, but it ramps everything up past 11 and keeps things really interesting by having no exact classes to be locked into.
I'm running a game in it right now, it's been a lot of fun, but we are playing a really high power game in it so things are a bit crazy, you can definitely use it to suite your needs.
>>44259880
>Bleach classless d20
This is a thing?
Interesting.
Which version? A google search seems to turn up several different Bleach Classless d20 games.
In the one you use, can you build custom powers, or is it a matter of choosing from a big list?
>>44259934

Maybe OVA or STRIKE! RPG, though the latter is very, VERY strict in its build rules due to having been built by an engineer and a math professor, though the crunch -once understood- is fairly sound. Since Bleach is (supposed to be) all about dem sword battles the very placement-heavy nature of STRIKE! could benefit your game.
...fuck, I sound full shill, and that's despite me REALLY not liking the core mechanic of the thing.
Have your characters ever had nicknames or epithets? If so what were they, and perhaps how they got them?
I need a nickname for a pit fighter with six arms, and want something good. A little inspiration could be nice.
The Sexy Sextuple Fister.
The Spinning Death
>>44259017
'Circlejerk.'
Alternatively, 'The Brazen Fist'.
Does /tg/ find it acceptable to play catboys nowadays?
In the correct context, there's no harm in it.
Please, just stop.
What is wrong with you.
which answer gets you to stop asking?
You have always wanted to be an emperor. That ambition has burned dimly in the past, tempered by reality. Now the opportunity to realise your ambition has arrived and you are determined not to let it slip. Now is the time to build your empire and become an emperor.

Rolls are d100 and the best of the first three posters. I may sometimes ask for more dice to be rolled by each player, but same rules apply otherwise. Please quote the post you are voting for or rolling against. Note there are hard-to-replace points that can be used to offset failures in rolls. Additional dice mechanics will be given a GDocs later.

You explain to Maloric about summoning Gnome, leaving out the part about Lyria.
“I’m not really sure why she decided to just be my Champion just like that,” you say in the end, voicing the loudest question you’d had since parting with Gnome earlier. She’d said something about making her decision when she left the ritual circle, but then why had she confronted you?
“While they’re in that circle the Champion can judge you, or so the old legends go,” Maloric explains. “I don’t understand the specifics, but given that Champions are the closest thing to genuine reincarnation this world has it’s no surprise that they might have some way to see souls while they’re connected to the Source.”
You frown. “Wait, so she knew all along that she was going to say yes?”
“Probably.” Maloric laughs. “That’s women for you. You should probably build up some experience in that area if you’re going to be an emperor, you know. Otherwise you might be taken advantage of and had games played with you.”
“I think women are already playing games with me,” you mutter, suddenly understanding why Lyria spoke as though you’d already won over Gnome from the start. She must have known this, too.
“Join the club,” Maloric says with a small smile. “Say, have I showed the liquor collection? It wasn’t all mine, but it’s easier to share than drink alone.”

When you play online (Roll20, Skype, whatever), do you use text or voice?
Which is better and why?
Text is good because it gets shy people into RP, voice is good because holy fuck text is slow.
>>44258670
Voice. Text is has too big of a risk of overlap and resolution of multiple things at once is annoying. Plus the tendency for text RPers to go big into flavor text slows things down, since there's no feedback while they're typing. In voice, the feedback of silence or noise is notable and people (at least those with a sense of self-awareness) know when to wrap shit up.
>>44258716
Any idea how to get people to move over to spoken games? GMing for a group of friends over roll20, first time GM, and I hate how disconnected people get on a text game.
How would you build a really cool dexterity based, dual wielding paladin in 5e?
I don't have anything really special, he's a Dragonborn hermit with flame breath
10 STR
15 DEX
12 CON
10 INT
14 WIS
14 CHA
I'm planning on picking up the dual-wielding feat, and I'm probably going to give him the oath of divinity for the attack spells.
I really like the flavor of the character, but I'm really open to criticism.
>>44258563
I suppose I should also state that he is currently wearing medium armor, and dual wielding two melee weapons that let him use his dex bonus versus his strength.
Dex Paladin's are fun, although you'll never deal as much damage with TWF with a Pally then you would with a Fighter or Ranger, there are a lot of fun options for a Paladin that can make them very hard to kill, even with mediocre constitution.
What weapons are you using? I think a paladin wielding short spear and dagger would be pretty cool. Alternatively a dual-mace would be pretty baller too
Stat me, /tg/.

Have you heard of the Capgras Delusion? It's the belief that certain people have been swapped with identical duplicates or dopplegangers - zombies, robots, alien mimics etc - and are just pretending to be people.
There's also the idea of Folie A Deux - "the madness of two" - which makes mental illness all the more horrifying because it means crazy can be contagious.
>>44257644
There's also the neurologically-similar Cotard Delusion, which makes the sufferer convinced that they are a ghost or don't exist at all. That one's trippy.
>>44258053
They both kind of work in the Lovecraftian world, though. Like, it's actually fairly rational once you know about the Shan to be fucking terrified that anyone you meet might in fact be an alien meat-puppet. Once you know about the grander cosmic scale stuff, or encounter the entirety of human history via the timefuckers of Yith, you might well realise that you basically DONT exist in any meaningful fashion.

Alright, /tg/, I've got a bit of a situation.
One of my players, in a recent session, stole gold from another member of the party while they were away from camp during downtime. This immediately sparked out-of-character conflict between the players involved, and I now have tension within the party.
My fellow DMs, how do you handle theft between party members, and other such actions?
Story might run a bit so I'll save it for a new post.
>>44257406
a) The player the stole is a lolrandum Chaotic Stupid shithead who should be told they're no longer welcome in your game.
b) The player that got stolen from is an immature retard incapable of serious roleplay and should be told they're no longer welcome in your game.
