Why are animated skeletons such frequent enemies? Shouldn't they shatter absurdly easily?
Its magic, I ain't got to explain shit.

Ray Harryhausen probably has a lot to answer for
what would a skyship/airship/spaceship need to keep itself going for months at a time?
>>44602007
That's a vague question which could have a number of answers depending on what you meant.
>power source/engine
>form of propulsion, which in most cases will require the above
>food supplies
>fuel supplies (if the engine needs fuel)
>ammo supplies
etc. etc.
Food could be dealt with by having it be unmanned. Ammo and potential mechanical failures (for example, failure of one of the engines) could be dealt with by having some sort of onboard manufactorum that can create parts using basic materials the ship gathers or keeps onboard. Power source...there are a lot of options when it comes to power sources. Could have a nuclear reactor, or if your setting is in the far future, a compact fusion reactor.
I think at this point though I'm just describing a Von Neumann probe.
>>44602007
An insane amount of power. And according to calculations, the helicarrier from Avengers would strip the land below it if it ever got below a certain altitude.
>>44602080
the helicarrier from Avengers would strip the land below it if it ever got below a certain altitude.
That implies that they completely fuck up migratory birds, air currents, and air traffic.
Geez, thanks UN.
Without getting into -4 STR shitposting, how does the female body work? How strong can they get and, purely based on their physical ability, how capable would a woman be of functioning in a military unit?
>Inb4 "adventurers are exceptional"
A lot of fantasy settings also have highl(over?)representation of women as nameless soldiers.
>>44601529
Lots of women could function in military units, the biggest issue with having females in the military would be sexual rather than their ability.
Holding formation and being skilled with weapons is what is important in soldiers, but having females in a camp mostly full of guys in a time like that is a recipe for disaster.
Depends how grim/realistic you want your setting though.
In a world where there are dragons and wizards having females with equal representation in military aspects is something that really shouldn't bother you.

Through combination of serving right people, being utterly ruthless and determined, and sheer dumb luck, my warrior was awarded by the king with some lands, noble title and some treasure. Now I got heavy GM hints that it is time to settle down and instead of murderhobo game have a bit of Game of Thrones game (he is a fan). My problem is that I couldn't care less about that type of game and my warrior doesn't have any governing skills anyway (Leadership and Tactics don't count). I can't refuse king's gift, and he somewhat relies on me. My party's opinions mixed, but mostly they want to use my castle as base of operations. What to do?
There is only one option: Diplomacy at the end of your blade. Invite everyone in, and find the best reasons to kill them. When you have no quarry, stalk around like a caged rat. Keep sating your lust of blood until you either die trying or have won the campaign atop a mountain of corpses, and long hail your new imperial empire. Immediately launch the war train to the neighboring lands.
>>44601322
I would tell the GM "I don't want to play that kind of game. I would rather continue adventuring than settle down and gather dust: isn't there any way to do that?
>>44601322
Get the castle, make smiley time with the other nobles, fuck off to the frontier at the first opportunity.
The stench of alcohol and thick narcotic fumes permeated the "Nuclear Mug", some kind of clandestine bar-whorehouse-thing that The Boss set up to host his harem of bounty hunters and sluts.
You where sitting among the other tryhard bastards with big guns and robotic prosthetics in the group of sofas that faced a large blank screen in the middle of it all. At around this time and day of the week (sometimes sooner, sometimes later), a list of names, faces, and an amount of credits would appear on it. Bounties.
Bored from trying to guess how many liters of silicon each of the ladies carried around, you decide to give your equipment a checkup, making sure that the battery and oil levels were all in decent shape.
Choose three.
>Laser rifle: A machinegun-type ranged weapon, powered by your suit's main battery.
>Shrapnel launcher: A shotgun-type ranged weapon, powered by your suit's main battery.
>Energy blade: A highly destructive sword with an edge made of energy.
>ArmorDoc Module: This adds a self-repair module to your suit in the shape of a small pink metallic heart. It can speak in an annoyingly high-pitched female voice with a japanese accent, and inform you about the status of your armor.
>Stealth Module: At the expense of draining your suit's power at a ridiculous speed, you can become temporarily completely undetectable by sight or hearing.
>Sense Module: Adds thermal and night vision, as well as the ability to zoom in like a sniper scope. These features are powered by your suit.
>Drone: A robot shaped like a weasel that can deploy a set of four propellers and fly.
>Brain Implant: Allows you to remotely communicate with electronics within a 10m radius.
>Write in: No guarantees, but if it's reasonable, I'll accept it.
By default, you also have a backpack, a smartphone, some cash and a motorcycle.
>Write in: Sniper rifle. Fires from long range, silent, strong enough to go through some types of walls.
>Sense Module: Adds thermal and night vision, as well as the ability to zoom in like a sniper scope. These features are powered by your suit.
Complements sniper rifle.
>Stealth Module: At the expense of draining your suit's power at a ridiculous speed, you can become temporarily completely undetectable by sight or hearing.
To get into position and escape.

Hey fa/tg/uys, I was browsing your wiki art 1d4chan and found this great story- http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Story:Love_Can_Bloom
Only one problem: it's not finished! Where is the ending? Does anyone know where the author is? Please help!

Warhehe: 40Kek
>>44601067
1. It's public domain /tg/ meme.
2. It's not intended to be finished any more 40k's plot is intended to have closure.
This way every Anon can pretend that during his battles the couple is living happily on a cottage on an exodite world or is being tortured by the inquisition or devoured by slaneesh, as they prefer.
>>44601067
>hes so new he doesn't know the tale of can love bloom on the battlefield
this shit was literally so prolific it became canon in 40k, how in the actual crap?
Hey /tg/.
When you multi-class do you normally use one character sheet or do you start a whole new one?
Pic unrelated.
>>44600499
I normally play classless systems. So no need to use another character sheet.
>>44600529
I should I known /tg/ had no class.
Ba-dum-tsh
>>44600499
That would be deeper if Link ever actually killed people and not ravening murderous monsters with his sword.
Setting help?
I'm working on a setting for a game i'm going to run during mid-1800's america that revolves around an alternate reality where all the pseudosciences and crazy shit people thought up during the time turn out to be right.
Anyone know some pretty interesting/wild ideas during the time period that I could incorporate? Already adding in phrenology (pictured), animal magnetism, spontaneous generation and aether for science concepts, as well as mammoths and mountains of salt in the louisiana territory, hollow earth with mole people inside, moon men and the planet vulcan.
>>44600118
Jet packs!
>>44600118
Edison was working on a machine to contact the spirit world. Kellog had all kinds of crazy ideas regarding nutrition. People were also starting to go nutty over electricity, which was seen as a cure all. Speaking of cure alls, snake oil traveling shows would also be in full swing.
Out of curiosity, what system are you using?
Read the Sons of Ether tradition book for Mage the Ascension. They're 1800's science incarnate.
Also add in Zeppelins! The soul was also just starting to be examined back then. People were trying to measure it and shit. X-Rays weren't really a 1800's thing but yeah, that's something. Radiation was huge in general.
Can we get a scenery thread going?
I'm especially looking for anything fitting the turn-of-the-century early 1900s feel. I'll post all I have.

Tridents require metallurgy. Metallurgy requires reliably produced heat. Reliably produced heat requires the ability to start fire. The ability to start fire requires not living underwater. Where did King Triton get his trident and crown?
>>44597951
It's almost like underwater geothermal vents don't exist.

They're gold. That often occurs natively with no need to refine it. It's also reasonably soft, so his regalia were probably cold worked

>Your players ask for a hard sci-fi space opera
>They will allow hand waved energy sources to fuel the future of technology
>FTL can occur, but only through worm holes, which are obviously strategically defensible
>This is so that ship to ship combat will be able to take relativity into account
What do /tg/? Are you a bad enough dude to homebrew relativistic space combat?
>>44597370
I tell my players that they'll play what I want to run, and they can run a game themselves if they don't like it.
Now grab your blasters and magic wands.

If I'm gonna be foreverGM, I'm running the game my way. When you want to see your fantasy realm, you can GM.
I played the games on pc. They were pretty fucking awesome. Now I want to play with miniatures. I checked them out and they're expensive as fuck. But is it worth it? If I just get a small army and play for fun at my lgs?
>>44597237
>playing 40k for fun.
THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS FUN
>>44597290
THIS
THERE IS ONLY WAR
>>44597237
I started 10 years ago, as a hobby. I have to date spent something like 5,000 USD on this fucking addiction.
Excuse me, Brother-Captain, but I've been reading up on the ancient pre-Emperor lore of Holy Terra. I've come across the Greco-Roman myth of the chimera: part lion, part snake, and part goat. I can see why a lion and snake are dangerous, but why a goat?
>>44596870
It's a symbolic thing. Goats, with how they eat everything, ruin fertile fields and turn them into wastelands. So they're associated with destruction, even if they're not particularly deadly. It's to represent how the chimera is not just a monster but an abomination that ruins the world by its mere presence.
>>44596870
The goat is frightening to the common man as its head is on the same level as their crotch, and armed with durable horns. You likely do not know of this particular discomfort, as you have never had any testicles, Brother Leandros.
Also, Heresy.
BLAM.
>>44596870
Ramming horns, giving the creature multiple avenues of attack each beast composing it lacks. The goat head can ram its foes, the lion can bite and claw, and the snake can bite and constrict. They should've added poisonous stingers or something. Would make for an incredible challenge, brother.
How do I make a self-sustaining society filled with idiots and the insane?
I want to have a horde of technologically superior mad inventors in my fantasy campaign, and I want it to be so hilarious it's frightening and so frightening it's hilarious.
Basically, picture an army of engineers that browse 4chan, have them making and improving Besiege-like mechanical monstrosities and going 'cross the countryside on a steam-powered warpath.
But aside from pretty much mastering the art of incredibly convoluted and superfluous superweapons, they also act like a bunch of pyschos who constantly try to one up each other, all the while being cheeky cunts about. Imagine if you will one hundred Sith participating in a prank war where the only rule is to win.
My problem is, how does this society not fall apart after a week and a half? Some kind of guideline/constitution/code of conduct they all live by that keeps them from going full retard? All of them working towards a common purpose? Do they just like the company of like minded individuals?
Also, post more ideas. This concept is very vague at the moment, as I only had the idea of it while watching these two videos:
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZw1bn9M338
I can also dump Besiege stuff, in case me and my idea is stupid.

Why are Tau so ugly?
Because they're aliens.
No, really, that's the entire reason. We find healthy humans beautiful, and Tau are an entirely different species.
They probably think we're ugly, too. But they'd be wrong, because they are the ugly ones. Damn zenos.
>>44596643
Why should they conform to human standards of beauty?
As it is, HUMANS in 40k are ugly as fuck, too.
