After a youth spent learning magic, you and your girlfriend spent some time as bandits after your home was destroyed, but have recently taken a chance to escape that life into a legit one... As sellswords, admittedly, but it's better than nothing. When the situation calls for it, however, you might take on the POV of a character somewhere else for a thread.

So now you have a disembodied hand of unknown intelligence running around the lower floors of headquarters. You presume that its owner is close by, and it can still drain people through fingers.
You're not sure if Monique can actively tell what her hand is up to, but after it physically broke out of three layers of being locked up while weakened down to bone in some areas, you, Irene, and Ansi have decided that your absolute safest bet is to destroy the damn thing.
"Lady Monica is very likely somewhere in Elza Oasis," Irene explains. "There was an... Incident many years ago, when I was very young and first started studying under Mage General Corneria. War had just broken out with the Deadlord Simia, cut off part of an assassin's finger and made someone carry it in, so the barrier 'allowed' him into the city unknowingly... Actually made it to her in the Tower of Longevity." When you ask how that one ended, she responds, "he'd loaded up on Pure Waters just to resist her magic... But you know, she's actually skilled with a sword as well."
>A. That's pretty impressive
>B. Now's not the time for anecdotes
>C. And they never fixed that?!
>D. Write-in response
(sorry it took so long to post. Laptop was a freezy shit right as I finished it up)

>A. That's pretty impressive
>C. And they never fixed that?!
>>44632851
"That's, uh... Pretty impressive."
Irene nods. "Yes, General Corneria was a great leader. It... Was barely year since the fall of Dain's empire, another war for a stupid reason had just begun, and already she'd taken a child under her wing."
If you remember the dates you read correctly, you were... An infant at the oldest when the war with Simia started. You briefly wonder how old Irene is if she was old enough a child to be under the Mage General's wing at that time, or even what age you had to be TO study under Corneria...
You don't ask, of course. You never ask a lady something like that.
That being said, thinking about age makes you realize something else disturbing. "Th-they still haven't taken out such an obvious oversight in over two decades?! Dead skin falls off of people constantly!"
"They became much more stringent about searching people for awhile and simply never disclosed how the assassin got into the city..."
"So... How fired is the official who let Lyeim and I in with Monica's hand?" Ansi asks, finally entering the conversation.
"As of when I spoke to General Yancy... Very," Irene answers. "I figure it'll be harder to just waltz into the city after this incident. Hope none of you were invested in the smuggling industry."
>A. This barrier kinda sucks
>B. Can we focus on hand-hunting
>C. Hopefully that'll be enough
>D. Smuggling industry?!
>E. Write-in response

We are a separate entity from /tg/ station, we just host our threads on /tg/ as the server was made by fa/tg/uys for elegan/tg/entlemen.
We occasionally run Dorfstation mode, a roundtype where the crew must build up from a bare-bones station. Dorf will be run less often then usual, probably on the first and/or last of every month now. Dorf is ran on a separate server, found at byond://76.16.8.127:28020

Our changelog is recorded at http://d20station.ddns.net/changelog.html, and we try to keep it up to date as much as posible. The changelog has been cleaned up to show changes starting from the base code of the /nt/ branch.
Code branch from NT (also named d20Station) is updated a few times every week with fixes and new content.
If you have a bug, contact an admin in-game or on the thread to report it.

Understanding the signs given by their god.
We're talking about a game where you can literally walk up to a god if you teleport to the right plane, you know.
Understanding the scriptures and apocrypha of their religion, related religions (Other members of the same pantheon, opposing faiths, and overlapping spheres of influence from otherwise unrelated dieties), and theology in general is a big part of channeling a god's power and making their will manifest in the world. Most of that runs along the same "Mysterious ways" that it does in real theology, which means being wise is better than being intelligent.

Marius Lietdorf waged an imaginary war against half imagined 'fishmen'. Of course, to be fair Leitdorf also speaks to his horse, bathes in buttermilk and attacked hedges thinking they were halflings.

>>Maybe we're looking too deep into this: The Dark Beneath The World - The next frontier for WFRP gaming?
We've talked about The Dark Beneath the World a bit over the last few days - any gamers or GM have experience or exposure to that aspect of the setting?
Could wizards use special mirrors to amplify their spells?
>>44630419
Yup. But it adds the lawful and evil descriptor to all spells. Standing between mirrors maximizes and extends them, but they can't move from that point
>>44630419
I personally would say no, magic isn't a beam of light, in the sense that you couldn't shoot a fire ball at a mirror and amplify it, but magical sources of light, like create light or Lazer based spells of sorts might work
I love how many trillions of dollars is spent on and take up the lives of brilliant people for shit like this that is sent into space to stare. At stuff. Far away. And millions of people starve or are blow up in wars, and no one really gives a shit.
Since some anon was nice enough to give us a substantial translation of Night Wizard! 3rd Edition for Xmas this year, I thought I might check in to see who out there is playing Japanese RPGs, translating them, or just interested in them.
Currently, I'm running a Double Cross 3E game for my regular group. We're about five sessions in, and they're really enjoying it. The group is five high school students and their homeroom teacher, who is actually their handler for the UGN. All of them have secrets, all of them have trauma, and all of them have goals that are mutually exclusive with at least one other character. As sessions have gone on and the things they care about are threatened, it's been interesting to see how they deal with the clash of their normal lives and their lives as superpowered secret agents.
So who out there has a cool Japanese TTRPG story to share? Or questions about such games? I can probably answer quite a few of them!
Including the link to the NW3E download. Not my work, but it's pretty good if you're just looking to get the rules and the gist of Night Wizard. I'd kill a hobo for full scans of the corebooks, though.

>So, what is this, exactly?
Like it says in the title: "Japanese RPGs General," it's a thread to discuss Japanese tabletop games.
I'm looking for traps I can use for my next game. Stats not needed, just ideas.
http://oglaf.com/trapmaster/
>>44629831
A series of traps that work in tandem for maximum saving rolls and rage.
1. Uneven cobblestone floors, causing players to trip.
2.tables, scattered around at different angles and heights, to maximize painful hits and damage.
3. Embedded traps at varying heights that shoot rocks.
4. Non flammable Grease traps that activate randomly, magically created to make any surface frictionless
5. As doors are opened and closed the dungeon moves and adjusts itself to maximize rage.
6. Rooms are filled with mimics, living armor, and other objects that appear normal, but are actually monsters.
7. A rust trap sprays acid into the entire floor, disintegrating armor and weapons.
I did one that was a false step with downwards pointing nails. The home was filled with decaying sewage. You foot goes in easy, but pulling it out tears flesh and infects.
One I did was two cages in a room, each with a creature inside. Disturbing the creature causes them to screech shrilly and alert others to the adventurer's presence.
I like living traps and simple but brutal traps.

That's kind of the point of a dystopia. They suck to live in.
>>44629546
You forgot the part where they live in even worse poverty than everyone else, will probably get raped and/or killed before they hit 15 and the likelihood of actually joining any non-penal guard regimen is hilariously low, while the likelihood of becoming a space marine is negligible.

How do you play Sci-Fi games as a Robot/Droid/etc and tackle sapience? Are you not sapient? How do you RP around that and still have fun? Are you? Wouldn't it be difficult to have every AI PC RP around that? Or wouldn't it be at least distracting to have >that guy make sapience his only character trait?
At the very least, it's a common enough character race that's difficult af to pull off properly in practice.

right, i forgot about how easy it is to brew your own homebrew winning deck for any of the 3 major formats, not to mention cheap.
MTG takes so much skill.
fuck this shitty game. 500$ to play something that will rotate out in 6 months, and new sets full of shit cards that drop from 50$ to 2$ in a week.
This game is bullshit.
>>44627980
Get the hell out, Redditturd.
>>44627980
I agree. 20+ year player here.
This explains why Modern is so popular now. Perhaps this is calculated?
Unless you are a "pro player" and keeping up with standard is literally your job, the direction Wizards is going is troubling. TCC makes good points.
It's pretty shit, MTG went from "fun card game to dick around with at the FLGS" to "literally everyone is competitive, don't even show up if you're not running a netdeck that costs more than a beater car on craigslist".
Also WotC ruined the aesthetic of all their franchises with the shitty deviantart level art direction, game jumped the shark a decade ago. TCGs as "fun" games are a thing of the 90s, playing this shit in 21st century is just nah.
Similar thing happened to wargames. Basically, if you want to actually enjoy games just play pnp.
What colour would be a character with this description:
relaxed, harmless creatures that observe their environment. They rarely interfere anything, but just keep observing. They rarely talk, just look around and smile.
