Has anyone played it recently? Is it dead?
>>44647416
AH!
I remmember doing a high school presentation on that subject and how it related to 1984
good times
Typical /tg/, trying to take credit for something that Reddit created
It's been quite dead for years now.
I played an older version of the setting way back when it was new and fresh, using GURPS (Because there weren't any alternatives at the time). I remember choosing an older version because I really didn't like the direction the threads had been taking it and nobody else involved seem to agree with me.
Haxton: Greetings! I am Haxton Sale Guye! World famous badass and proud owner of the Guye Co. Munitions corp. I have a very important job that requires some crack mech pilots. You see there's a new player in the arms manufacturing business: some upstart start-up by the name of Advanced...energetic...uh.
Jeeves: Advanced Energy Systems Research sir...
Haxton: Right! Those guys think they can cause a "disruption" in the weapons market with their new fangled "cutting edge" technology, well I won't have it! I need you to head down to their factory floor and show them that their "directed energy weapons" are no substitute for punching things in the face! Some people talk about the Market's invisible hand, well I believe in a visible fist!... to the face of my competitors. Ha ha! Free market capitalism at it's finest.
Jeeves: Sir I don't think that consitutes...
Haxton: Quiet Jeeves I' giving a pithy speech here. Anyway most other merc contracts involve a lengthy process of choosing mech loadouts well I'm going to do you a massive favour by providing you the "optimal" loadout for any combat situation:
Pugilist
Hedgehog System
Hp: 16/16
Torso: Extra Punching Arm, Extra Punching Arm
LA: Power Fist
RA: Power Fist
Legs: Juggernaut Mods
There! With a loadout like that there's no need to faff about with arms catalogs. You can now spend the time you'd need to put together a loadout contemplating how awesome I am. You're welcome! Now if you'll excuse me I have a steak dinner to attend. Jeeves here will see to the paperwork.
Jeeves: *Sigh* Well then pilots I shall now present you with the obligatory paperwork, despite the proclamations of our esteemed employer you will indeed need to know how to put together a loadout.
>>44647380
Jeeves: Given the nature of the mission I think we both know that it would be prudent to have more variety than the puglist class. To that end I am opening up the entire Guye Co. catalog for use as well as granting access to Knight Lite Military Supplies.
We've already spent a considerable amount funding this operation so we'll have to limit your budget to 40 Cred.
>>44647437
Jeeves: Guye Co. will of course be supplying extra equipment, gear from Knight Lite and the ever reliable Gavial Global Armaments will also be available. Bear in mind this will count towards your budget limit as well.

Do you really want to know? It's, like, a really huge spoiler that only appears 23 chapters in.
With the Portal Stone clasped in hand, the transition back to Grisoch is much smoother. You still stumble over the threshold of the veil, but the thin trails of Mist clinging to your cloak are nothing compared to the sheet of rime that coated you on your maiden voyage to Azeo Sicros. The lack of splitting headache is just another fringe benefit.
The sun hangs low in the sky as you emerge. The Portal Stone deposits you neatly in the center of your wartorn practice field. As reality snaps back into place behind you the sounds and smells of your home manifest all at once. The autumn grain and the smell of fallen leaves mingle with the ringing of Merich's forge and the sound of Boand's river. Grisoch, in essence. Before you know it, you've got a smile on your face.
Only Terra is inside your workshop when you enter. She's seated at the table in the center of the main room. Around the workshop a few candles are lit, their light battling valiantly against the oncoming night. On the table before her, a tiny humanoid figures chitters excitedly. By the skirt ofpurple leaves and the decidedly verdant complexion, you're certain this is one of the flower spirits.
“Welcome home!” Terra gives you a little wave as you cross the threshold. “This is Dona.” She gestures to the sprite. The tiny figure greets you with a graceful curtsy. “She's telling me stuff about the flowers. I didn't know you could use them for so many things!”
You return the sprite's courtesy with a shallow bow of your own. You're not sure which blossom she hails from, but those leaves make you inexplicably nervous.
> Roll 1d100+5 for plant lore.
“From healing salves to insecticides, flowers are a potent friend. A representative of their court is always welcome here.”
Terra nods quickly, looking up at you with an awed expression.
“Make yourselves at home. I just need to...”

You are Osyki, journeyman Totemist and first line of defense for your village against the rabid Behemoths wandering the land. Your master, the previous Totemist, fell in a battle against a terrible Behemoth, leaving the duty of defending your settlement to you. After making peace with Hesheza Zahn, spirit of the First Totemist, you have returned home to plan how best to obtain the ingredient needed to properly initiate your apprentices: the vital spark of a Behemoth.

So Terra's made friends with a belladona spirit, then? I guess that's not too bad, so long as she doesn't go around licking her.

Let's see if we've unlocked it.

Ohayou Diarca-sama!
So I played D&D 5E yesterday, and have been flipping through the PHB looking at how advancements and skills and stuff works.
My only question, the fuck did they do?
>>44645980
>My only question, the fuck did they do?
Translation?
>>44645980
Well, they decided that advancements and skills and stuff suck the way they used to do them.
>>44645980
skills?
take the corresponding attribute bonus
lets say your charisma (CHA) is 14, giving you a +2 bonus to CHA based skills and checks.
your deception skill would be a 2, assuming you are not proficient with it. if you were proficient with CHA (or just the deception skill) and the character is at lv 1, your proficiency bonus would be a +2 and would be added to your deception skill's 2 giving you 4 total. every time you rolled a deception skill check, you would add +4 (just 2 if you are not proficient) to your roll.
the only way to really increase them is either increase your attributes or level up enough for your proficiency bonus to increase (becomes +3 at lv5, +4 at lv10), or the effect of an item or spell.
The game thickens

I really had a question I was going to ask last thread, but it was dead when I got to it. And now I can't remember it. Great.
Have some Ray Lederer art.
Is Hermaeus Mora the most powerful of the daedric princes or does he just happen to be seemingly omnipotent and nearly omniscient due to being the prince of forbidden knowledge and so forth and/or because he is the most mysterious?
>>44646466
>most powerful of the daedric princes
Always triggers me desu. Power is relative and comes in many shapes and forms. There's really no way to measure it and start ranking the Daedra or Aedra.
What system would be best for playing a character based on sick spins and being loyal?

Welp, now that it's safe to completely ignore your question I shall supersede it with my own.
Death Metal seems hard to aware because the Imperium and Chaos could both be death/black metal. Those who have more refined sensibilities when it comes to rock and roll please input.
Also, would Tau be the guys who make the hot blooded music you hear in animu?
>>44643817
>Gosh, anon, why your such a loser ?
I enjoy Melodious and Burning Abyss
Nordics is probably my archtype. I had a great deck for them before they got powercreeped over. Now I play Magicians and love it. Pic related was my favorite boss for my Nordics.
I played a shitload of Arcana Force back in the day.
Elemental Dragons were my favorite before they were banned forever though Hieratics and Chaos dragons were also really enjoyable but nothing quite matches the sheer joy I had while playing elemental dragons.
Would real life racists become racist aganst drows if they existed?
>>44643247
Probably.

No, because Drow aren't a race, they're a species.

Yes.
Source: I'm a real life racist and I don't like drow.

How large of a bullet would you need to take a tarresque down?
>>44642654

But generally speaking, bullets won't do shit no matter how large, you need magical weapon.
>>44642654
Large enough that you can't reasonably call it a bullet anymore.
>>44642654
How big is a Terrasque? What kind of creature is it?
Height?
lbs/kg?
