Just make them sit there for a bunch of sessions pitting them against enemies with only diplomacy or dedkill rolls. Then when everybody gets bored because it's shit, I would run a real campaign.

Run it secretly in pathfinder by saying the players fell into the underdark and see how long it takes them to catch onto it without me dropping any obvious hints.

I can't tell how much of elves is Tolkien.

When I was a kid, elves were either small garden spirits (like gnomes, but more slender and elusive), or Father Christmas' helpers who made my presents.

Pointy ears are neat though.

This is Boruto Quest, a quest set in the universe of Naruto. It is during the generation of Naruto's son, shortly after everyone has graduated from their Genin exam. I haven't kept up with the series beyond the end of the original one, so this one is intended to recapture the feel of that time of Naruto. I will not be incorporating the main show or the Boruto movie's plot into the quest, although some recognizable characters will be present. You play as a 12 year old Chunin graduate named Takeshi. You have been assigned a Jounin squad leader named Hanto, and your two squadmates are Kichiro, a young delinquent, and Ai, a strange social outcast of a girl. You are of average skill in most aspects, although your sharp intelligence, and your jack of trades skill set have brought you far. You have just recently graduated to a Chunin after winning the final tournament, and it is the day after. You have some time to relax.

PREVIOUSLY ON MAGICAL GIRL LIBERTY: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Magical+Girl+Liberty

“Pack it up, pack it up quick!” You, Rana, Anneliese, and Sumire quickly get to packing up your items. Only the ones you can carry on a sprint. The radio and the tents are torn down and thrown beneath snowdrifts. The radio itself is smashed to pieces, then thrown over the side of the trail down the mountain. The rocks will take care of the rest for you. You manage to grab at least a few days worth of food and water for yourself along with your winter jacket. As the sun begins to set on the day, you figure that you can use the cover of darkness to shield you and your girls away from prying eyes.

You suddenly hear a frightening howling in the distance. Sumire stops packing, looking around. “Do they have dogs or something!?”

“Worse!” yells Rana. She bounces around the campsite, sweat popping off of her face as she hurries to get her things together. “They’re like rabid mutts those goons! They almost dragged me off!”

“We have to stick to the cover of darkness,” you say. “The entire thing’s blown.”

“What do you mean blown?” asks Anneliese. “Operator #5 was clear not to engage without his permission!”

“Rana was about to get dragged off, I couldn’t let that happen!” you shout. “We-“ The howling again silences you all.

“Yeah, I’d rather we not sit here and wait for the dogs to come for us.” Sumire shoves her backpack into your arms. “What’s the plan, Libby?”

Do you find that it helps to have people who are of a similar political/moral mind to yourself at the table? Does it make the game more fun to you? Or does it at least avoid awkward moments (Such as, say, when the party wants to do a Crusade campaign but there's an atheist at the table)?

Depends on the context, but I always heavily include my social, political and philosophical views to the game. I actually have a very close friend with almost diametrically opposed conceptions of the world from my own, and it can lead to deeply stimulating and interesting dynamics. But this is only possible because he's like my brother.

Basically, play out any real life conflict of this manner in the game and you'll be fine.

That kind of stuff shouldn't really be turning up in the game.

The Story So Far: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=hellborn
1-50 Thread Summary: http://pastebin.com/DYy8w24r
51-100 Thread Summary: http://pastebin.com/wx3HtRT5

You are Sierra Beckhoff, and you are the Imperiate – the one true tyrant of the thousand hells. That is, if you can survive long enough to reclaim your inheritance.

In order to ensure you’re kickass enough to take your varied enemies head on, you’ve decided to rush forward with operation mad gains. Tonight, you and a motely crew of your selection will telezap into Canada. There you’ll go tripping over to the shores of Lake Superior to claim the anchor node of an elemental spirit, and master its power as your own.

Borislav Zerevskii, Muir Woods’ resident druid, had ordered you to chill the hell out before your showdown with the ancient elemental. Except now your kind of dad-person Isaac decided to invite himself along for the ride? And your boyfriend Wolfgang (who you sort of slept with last night?) accidentally got invited to a family barbeque?

You kind of need to talk to him about that, maybe. Have a... conversation or something about things. So you know, you’re on the same page. Because you don’t think worrying about that while spirit wrangling native American ghosts is a good combo.

Basically, you need things to be not complicated, and they’re getting more complicated all the time. If you mess up this spirit business, you’ll be too weak to confront your myriad enemies. King Yellow, Sulkrasph the shadow master, and the Stygian Grand Wyrmwrither Ushologuissa all have reasons to want you gone, and you’re running out of time.

--

Isaac puts his hands on his hips and gives you a decidedly stern, protective look. “I don’t like you taking all these risks,” he tells you. “Roll enough dice and you’ll get snake eyes. There’s too many unknowns, too many things left to chance.”

He’s acting like you’ve never fought a random spirit before. You’ve done this a couple of times now. There were those beetlemen ghosts that one time, and you’re pretty sure that mana sprite you bossed into submission counts. (+1 Stress: 40)

“C’mon,” you say, knocking your knuckles against Isaac’s arm. “Trust me on this. I can handle the fights I pick. What worries me are the fights that pick me. It’s not like I’ll be on my own, either. Borislav’s coming, and whoever else I want.” There are a lot of whoever elses that you might want for this, too.

Isaac nods at this, thoughtful, then says something that takes you by surprise. “Then I’m coming with you too, for if things get out of hand. Not that they will – Lord knows you had enough of that last year.”

You’re surprised. Like. You shouldn’t be surprised, because Isaac’s your... you know, legal guardian. But usually he leaves you to handle your own business. Isaac stepping it up... he must be really, legitimately worried about you. Which is... cool. (-2 Stress: 38) But also kind of annoying. (+2 Stress: 40)Like, it’ll be cool to have him with you because Isaac’s cool and powerful, but annoying because... you want to do this yourself. Because you don’t want anybody – Isaac especially – worrying about you. (+1 Stress: 41)

You stand there awkwardly for a second, not knowing if you should thank him or be annoyed or what.

And then you hear a knock at the front door – a Wolf-patented pattern.

You seize upon the opportunity to edge out of the family room, and more importantly away from the nauseating aura oozing off Isaac. (+1 Stress: 42) “I gotta... go do that,” you say, jerking a clawed thumb over your shoulder. “I mean it’s Wolf, so, and I have to be chill. And he’s... it’s better if you just don’t talk to him at all, got it?”

Isaac squints at you and folds his arms.
>>
>>44668499

“That’s a maybe. I’ll take that as a maybe,” you say, snapping and wagging your finger at him. You take advantage of the silence to retreat.

Except your retreat puts you right at the front door, and that’s when you realize you’ve only traded up to worse. Wolf’s here – you can feel him feeling out of place and stuff through the door - and he’s - but it’s a family thing, and you weren’t planning on him and you being around people. And less than 24 hours ago he saw you naked and you were with him... also like that. And you were stupid and said things. Things that meant stuff.

You hesitate at the door, your flames acting up. (+7 stress: 49)

>Act natural and open the door, he heard your footsteps, it’s too late, he knows you’re here already.
>Take a second and take deep breath. You’re freaking out. No reason to freak out, it’s just a stupid barbeque.
>You are not prepared for this yet. There’s too many feelings going around and you can’t breathe. Open door and escape with Wolf for a few minutes.
>Make somebody else answer the door - Harvey's good, he's right there in the kitchen. Take a breather for a second in your room.

>>You are AZURE, an accidentally-created artificial intelligence. After joining a rebel faction known as the Initiative and stealing some prototypes, The city-state's Head of Security escaped containment, greatly harming two of your friends.

"You should be a lot more careful." Tandi says, frowning at the damaged machine in front of her. It was once covered in muck, but you and Tandi had carefully scrubbed it out, making sure to dry the few parts that could rust. One of the tendrils are heavily damaged, as are the Aurora's sensors. Tandi is leaning over the table, disassembled tendril in front of her, as the two of you try to get it functional again. Finally, she stretches, her back making loud popping noises, and she all but collapses into a seat. "The Aurora's pretty badly damaged. If we had a bunch of spare parts, I'm sure we could fix it back up. But that's the problem with prototypes. No matter what we do, the Aurora's never gonna hit 100% again. I mean, we could replace the sensors fine, but these are really advanced."

She sighs.

"It looks like Old Power technology." She says. "I've never seen anything like this."
You look down at the component at the desk, watching the red sparks dance from the exposed muscle.
It reminds you of Kristoph's augmentations, of the Free. In fact, it 'looks' precisely the same when you examine it with your electrosense, scuttling up to it.

Tandi just closes her eyes. She's frowning, frustrated. "I'm just done with trying to figure this out for now. Damnit."

The two of you don't have any particular orders right now, now that you've gotten the Lifter working, so the two of you have spent the past day trying to make repairs. It hasn't been going very well.

You do, however, have some free time- You could check in on someone, or work on a project...

"Mother, what do you normally do to relax?" You ask.
"Sleep." Tandi says, face down on the table. Then she sits up. "I also watch movies, read, listen to music. Pretty normal hobbies to have. It's pretty much what everyone else does, here. We don't really have... the freedom to leave the base most of the time, you know?"

You bob your shell's head.

"But I really need to get some sleep, I think." Tandi says, getting to her feet. "I... haven't been getting enough, since you were born. I just can't help but worry that you're bored, waiting for us to wake up."

She frowns. "I'll also have to check up on Kate and Isha. I'm worried about them. I just wish I could do something about it. Like Kate's arm. She can't really be a raider anymore without one, and she doesn't really have many other skills."

Two weeks ago as suggested by Louis Toothfucker we started domesticating unconventional animals; bears, sabertusks, centaurs, mimics, goblins, elves etc.
-
What now? whats the possible utility of breeding so much weakblood under our belt?
Just use everything as work animals?
maybe we could weaponize some of then, like bears and mimics, but what about the rest? any ideas my fellows?
-
The God Emperor is dead and the Great Supreme Throne is empty as he died without leaving a sucessor. For the burden of rulling the great human empire this Council was formed from every noble who wanted to participate.
it was not the smartest choice but is cleary the one that will not cause a civil war.
Take a name, safe tripcode and join the Council

Yeah, why not? Even if he's full of shit, it's still a cheap little indulgence and random encounter with an absurd character. It's the little events like that those give detail to your journey, not just the big moments of heroism and fighting.
