Also, what cheap terrain have you found lately?
I've found a bucket of plastic elves and shit, same style as those traditional army men, with sandbags, a bridge, some rocks, and a gravestone.
Oh, and pillars.
Any cheap castles or the like around?
Is this like Canadian Mordheim or something
>>44661402
....That would be an apt description, yes. Only with less "Sorry" and more throwing fireballs.
>>44661198
>En. Fucking. Joy.
Anon you glorious fucking bastard!
And honestly I'm looking at scratchbuilding stuff for my terrain right now. I have a bunch of those instant Ramen cups that are a pretty decent size for 28mm miniatures, they'll make some pretty cool towers.
There are probably a lot of toy sets in little kid's aisles when it comes to castles and such, and with a little imagination bottles of all kinds can become scenery as well.
>>44661402
Its a warband game a lot like Mordheim set ina frozen city where Wizards used to learn the secrets of the universe and stuff in before one of them ruined everything.
The cooler part of this game is that you can use miniatures from any manufacturer, there's no "right" miniatures for the job. If I can find it I'll post the warband that uses GW Orcs for the units listed.
>I'm a Klingon raised by humans
>I'm a boy raised by wolves
>I'm an alien raised by Kansans
>I'm a drow raised by dwarves
Are characters like these acceptable in your games, /tg/? Why or why not?
I don't really see it as any different from the countless other cliches that people often use as a starting point for a character
>>44661133
I...don't think it is, no.
>>44661097
The correct reply is, in most cases,
>"...and?"
That shit doesn't tell us who your character really is.
Ok I'll use my torch to light up the room
>you didn't say you packed torches with you when you left town
>you didn't indicate that you lit the torch before you entered the dungeon
>you didn't inform the gm that you bought a tinderbox to light the torch
>your character is level 1 and doesn't have the torch lighting skill or the proper feat
>>44659058
Just punch your DM in the face and tell him afterwards that you were going to punch him in the face.
Then go to prison so you can't fucking post here.
I hit the light switch by the door.
>ok, roll the die
>>44659147
I've had DMs like this. It's annoying.
>roll to eat the chicken, you don't want to choke on a bone
Where the fuck is Iona?

Good question, considering they were kind enough to mention her in a flavor text.
>>44658319
You already got a new version of her.
I don't get it /tg/, where are the bad limited cards? Everything here is good.why the fuck couldn't Battle of Zendikar be this good?
How can we put an end to this sort of thing?
>>44656013
What are those cards with holes in them? Are they for tokens/counters?
I see nothing wrong here.
Can you point out what's wrong here, OP, or is this another bait thread?

Could you guys recommend any texts, podcasts or videos of actual Shadowrun play that serve as good examples of how your avarage run would play out?
I'm really into the game but haven't played yet, so I'd like a taste of what the actual game plays like before trying it out.

Wireless tech was being implemented in 3rd edition as prototype gear, and ushered the Crash 2.0
Cyberdecks were keyboard/laptop sized back 1-2-3, and Control Rigs were these huge, bulky thing that took over your skull and spine. After crash 2.0 and 4th edition, cyberdecks went extincts and Control Rigs were heavily improved and became internal modifications. 5th edition's now that the corps took over the wireless Matrix, "cyberdecks" came back but only as a slang. The new decks and the old decks are nothing alike, they just serve the same purpose (hacking).
Back in 1-2-3, data storage and latency was a serious issue, but since 4th, the cloud storage solved that issue while connections are now an order of magnitude faster (imagine 1-2-3 was the dial-up modem era of simsense, and now we're on post-fiberoptics)
Otakus were "sorta" child technomancers, able to connect to the wired matrix... wirelessly, but they were all just pawns of Deus. Technomancers came later, after the Otakus lost their powers... which is also when Renraku lost control of it's Seattle Arcology, it's CEO rendered brain dead and the honor of all Japancorp sullied. Renraku almost lost it's Council seat, but managed to survive as a bottom ranker.
Yamatetsu Corporation died, and was absorbed by the other Megas. EVO took the lion share and managed to be elected as the new Mega.
Cross-Applied Technology was destroyed by Ares after 30 years of conflict when the owner died in a plane crash during the Crash 2.0 I think Horizon took its spot IIRC.
Dunkelzhan was murdered 2 days after his presidential election at the end of 2nd edition/start of 3rd.
Great Dragons went to war with each other in 4th.
Damien Knight, a key player in the lore since before the awakening, the owner of Ares, the first shadowrunner before shadowrunning was a thing and possibly the single most badass "normal" human on the planet just won't die... Leonisation is doing a wonder to his complexion.

Do you like swords? Because I like swords. What swords have your characters crafted lately? What evocations have they come up with? Other weapons are fine too.
Never done any in game Crafting, but I tried writing up a Grand Grimcleaver that was going to have a number of Alpha Strike charms, but mostly just ended up taking some Evocations off of Hearthflame. One thought I had was for the axe to split into a spear and shield in case I needed extra defence, a throwing weapon, or if I simply felt like branching into White Reaper.
For those unaware, Smite has recently added a literal Dawn Caste character.
I just started checking out 3e. What do you guys think of the combat mechanics so far?
How can you face inevitability of death?
Ghosts
>>44649672
You live. Death is always there, is always inevitable. All around us things die.
>>44649672
The desperate hope that technology will advance enough to make us immortal.
Besides that, the fact that if I may as well live as die, I choose the reality where I get to play vidya, watch animu and shitpost about tabletop roleplaying games. IC, much the same.
Everything but make the game better to keep afloat.

>"Let's have huge sales on our products for this holiday season?"
>"That's stupid. Weren't you listening to the brilliant marketing strategists at Electronic Arts when they said sales cheapen the value of an IP?"
>"You're right. Let's just sell some esoteric bundles at no discount on the webstore."
>"Brilliant."

>The company said December sales were below expectations, and warned that pretax profit for the year to 29 May was unlikely to exceed £16m. Last year, it made profits of £16.6m.
>>44641567
No surprises. GW seems to be run by time traveling wizards not businessmen.
A while ago, someone said that Games Workshop's upper management was pretty much incestually convoluted and that they make money no matter what happens to the company.
So this isn't a surprise.

Does pdf related means that HH armies can be used in regular 40k games, or are these just rules clarifications? The title is unequivocal for me.
I didn't knew that Corax was primarch of world eaters.

Rules clarfications.
Also Tartaros is now best armour. Indomitus is next to worthless now.
We're finalizing character sheets for a new 4e campaign tomorrow. I only have minor experience playing D&D before, and it was years ago using 3.5. We will have 4 people and I am filling the striker role.
My prospective character is a re-flavored blackguard paladin. I've played him in a couple test combat encounters and he does a fine job. Only thing is I'd love to be able to do something that wasn't furious strike every turn. Blackguards seem to get very little in the way of skill versatility. Is there some other class that would thematically fit with a charismatic, greatsword-wielding holy striker? I've attempted to hybridize with a few things in the character builder but I'm not really satisfied with the results. Most of the info I am able to find on hybrid blackgaurds involves executioner and that isn't going to fit my needs. The rest of the info says play twinstrike ranger instead. Also not happening. Anyone with experience on blackgaurds or class hybridization?
Anyone else playing 4e? What are your experiences? What characters have you played?
Ever comissioned art of your character?
>>44639989
Blackguard is an essentials class, so I can't help you there...
>Anyone else playing 4e?
Have played, continue to play occasionally.Well, run. Forever DM.
>What are your experiences?
Mixed, mostly due to the groups. My first 4e campaign was shit because 1. We had a huge group, 2. Half of them either didn't show up or didn't participate any given week, 3. There was one asshole that was sucking the DM's dick for ridiculous bonuses. High ability scores, unique weapons, all that bullshit.
After that group fell apart and I started DMing for the few not shitty players, my experiences have been quite good.
>What characters have you played?
Half-elf artificer that was dogshit. Got killed by the DM when I had to leave a session early. When I gave him forewarning.
A brawler fighter that had a pretty sparse backstory: Grew up in the woods, wrestled bears.
Female, teenaged human warlord. It was a 1st level campaign and not all that serious, so she was essentially a cheerleader.
Oh, and an unaligned human wizard that had some pretty questionable priorities, but was voted the party leader because everyone else was terrified of her. I was expecting the party paladin to rein her in a bit, honestly.
>Ever comissioned art of your character?
No, I draw my own shitty character art. I enjoy the personal touch.
>>44639989
>charismatic, greatsword wielding holy striker
Outside of Blackguards (which suck) 4e can give you three of those four things at a time (with one exception).
>Charismatic + greatsword-wielding + holy - striker
ordinary Paladin
>Charismatic + greatsword wielding - holy + striker
thaneborn barbarian, eldritch strike charisma-warlock
>Charismatic - greatsword wielding + holy + striker
Nothing, unfortunately
> - Charismatic + greatsword wielding + holy + striker
Avenger
A strength/charisma ordinary paladin can be built for damage, but can't reach striker-levels like a fighter can
>>44640173
Wouldn't the warlock be Charismatic - greatsword wielding + holy + striker?
And why is it your favorite? A friend of mine and I are interested in large scale fantasy battles and would like to try Warhammer.
From what I understand:
1-2ed is them hammering out the rules concerning a large amount of minis.
3rd edition edition places high importance on maneuvering with complex movement rules
4-5th edition have extremely powerful heroes which outweigh the importance of army units
6th edition nerfed heroes
7-8th edition placed a great deal of importance on battlefield magic
I enjoy the idea of tactical maneuvering of mass troops being important because in my mind it helps set this type of army-level game apart from skirmish games, so 3rd edition sounds most appealing to me.
What was your favorite, anon?
>>44635898
3rd was current when I started, and I've played every edition since. Though I don't think 8th is that bad if you've got a good gaming group (that won't force an arms race of min/maxing), my all-time favorite is 6th. I feel that GW made change for change's sake (and to push edition sales) even though they had very little to improve on.
>>44636096
What makes 6th your favorite?
>>44635898
I play it unironically, have fun, and it's my favorite edition. Bring on the hate.
