>the bard isn't a charismatic ladies-man, instead...
she's a snobby, grey girl with an expensive musical education.
She is determined to build a career and is only adventuring so she can claim that she has 'world experience', but is actually disgusted by her parties behaviour. She gets really angry when anyone makes a sexual remark about her.
Doing the opposite of a shitty trope is still a shitty trope.
>>44983175
How?
A trope is something that everybody has seen/played so many times that it has become boring. Bringing the opposite of that trope to the table, will not get you the same response of 'this shit again'.
Some bard archetypes:
>MUSIC
Jack-of-all-trades with a Sitar
Overpowered manwhore
Glamorous rockstar (best if everyone in the party knows an instrument, too)
Amateur looking for inspiration/songwriting materiel
>NOT MUSIC
Exiled town crier
Gonzo journalist
Intrepid entrepreneur
Audacious playwright (makes the party put on shows)
Remember, the bard doesn't have to be the magical realm gatekeeper.

Check out this sweet Vedalken art im making. I am creating it from another image that is not of a Vedalken. Super cool and sexy and cute to boot. I want to rub my hands all over her slender body. Haha. Nice thread.
An RPG about existence in a Soviet GULAG. The point is to survive as long as possible while clinging to one's humanity. If escape is even an issue, it should be so laughably unlikely that it would never be attempted in 99% of games and would most certainly not be the main subject of the game.

I kinda hope they make models for the ones they already made rules for first. Even if the Domitar isn't particularly good it would be nice to see what they look like; the Thanatar-Cynis is actually very good and deserves its own model as the armament is very different than the other two variants that have models.
As for anything else I'm curious to see what the event-exclusive stuff is going to be. Characters? New types of Centurions again? A Knight-Errant (unlikely, but you never know)? Maybe a named Blackshield (wait, that doesn't work)?
>>44979783
New Centurions would be cool, but what is left?
Centurions who open unittypes (bikes) would clash with rites, granting abilities to attached units (skilled rider, fleet) would make the traits of certain legion seem non-unique.
An idea is a centurion who must start attached to a non-legion specific unit but he and his unit has the legion trait of a battlebrother legion. (Might end up useless)
While I do liked the characters, as I can't appear this year I just hope it'll won't be IH, WS or blackshield.
Pathfinder General /pfg/
Have you treated your DM/Players well this weekend?
Unified /pfg/ link repository:

Old Thread: >>44961959
Mhmm, I didn't harass my dm with questions while sitting in all this fucking snow. Shit sucks, I wanna go back to the desert and get real tex-mex.
So, /pfg/, I'm running a solo pathfinder game for a friend soon, and I'm providing a few NPCs to tag along with his character to help things along; I gave him a series of NPCs to pick from adn he ended up picking three to go with his archetyped Swashbuckler (the paizo archetype with the rapier focus, plus two homebrew ones; one trades Nimble for the bladebound magus's Black Blade, the other trades the bonus feats for half-initiation). The PCs he picked were a human skald, an elf stalker, and a catfolk warder.
The problem is I have not built a PoW using character ever before, so I'd like some general advice for how to build and progress them as teh game goes; the Stalker is using Butterfly Swords and is using Broken Blade, Steel Serpent, and Veiled Moon, and the Warder is using probably a long sword and a heavy shield and I was planning to focus on Iron Tortoise and Golden Lion. Just general build advice would be appreciated, as well as anything speciifc to look for or avoid.
>>44977356
You could probably just throw darts at random maneuvers and come out with usable PoW characters.
The past few days, I've been reading up about the Officio Assassinorum. There's just something about the organization that piqued my interest...
Expecting it to be a group of the Emperor's finest assassins, I got what I expected. The sniper, the shapeshifter, the anti-psyker...
Then I read about the Eversor and holy fuck. Forget assassin, he sounds more like a one-man fucking army! Forget being sneaky, he outright Leeroy Jenkins his way to the target and everyone around him. And actually fucking succeeding.
So here's a question that's been nagging at my mind. How POWERFUL is a single Eversor Assassin, fluff-wise? I know that they're dispatched to utterly annihilate the enemy's entire command structure. But how powerful is he compared to, say, a troupe of harlequins? A common Chapter Master with his retinue of elite Honour Guards? Lucius the Eternal? A freaking Swarmlord?
(All I know is that they're usually dispatched on some Hive Worlds to send a message and at one instance, one was assigned to assassinate Horus during the heresy)
>>44977159
>How POWERFUL is a single Eversor Assassin, fluff-wise?
As powerful as the writer makes it. It will vary because of inconsistencies with different writers and plot demands but the consensus is that it will fuck a nigga up.
An example is in Taros campaign where one killed a few fire warriors before dying and kill the ethereal in its explosion, yet in Mont'ka a single eversor killed a dozen or so crisis suits before dying
>>44977159
A group of about 100 took out most of the nearly 1000 marines sent in to kill their order's leader after he had the High Lords killed, if I remember correctly.
Usually they only send those jokers if they want to impress upon someone that they REALLY dun goofed.
>>44977159
Eversors are the best at taking out armies, but the Cuxulus is the deadliest. It'll walk right into your room without anyone noticing before shooting you with a lethal ray of pure terror

You are Captain Kusajishi Riku, and your moment of relaxation has been rudely interrupted by a courier from the Onmitsukidō.
“Captain Kusajishi,” the Onmitsu runner bows. “We have a message from the Executive, urgent.”
“What is it?” you ask tersely. “Out with it.”
“Yes ma'am... she wanted you to know that Kurotsuchi Nemu has been captured.”
You take a moment or two to process the information: in the wake of Kurotsuchi Mayuri's departure with Aizen no small amount of effort has been dedicated to determining how much of a threat his defection presents. The absence of his Lieutenant Nemu has been the key aspect of that investigation, as she was presumably deep in her Captain's counsel and may have information that would explain his role in Aizen's treachery. But it bothers you that Mayuri would leave his daughter behind... since to your knowledge no other Captain has children, adopted or otherwise, you're not sure that they would consider how unusual abandoning one's child so easily really is.
The courier remains where he is, his intent to lead you to the location Yoruichi has indicated clear.
“I should probably go now,” you sigh, rising to your feet. “Nobody else has to though.”
Shunsui stands with surprising alacrity given the amount he's had to drink, and straightens his garish pink haori. “I hate it, but I should go too. The Old Man's probably expecting it.”
“I will go instead,” Gin bows respectfully, placing a hand in front of his fellow Captain. “The Head Captain would no doubt prefer it if a Captain remained with our masked guests.”
“And the others'd trust me more,” Shunsui realizes, shaking his head. “I get you, Ichimaru. Go see what Lieutenant Kurotsuchi has to say, I'll keep an eye on your friends here.”

Now that you consider it a little more carefully, there may be an unusual opportunity here to begin getting your peers more used to the idea of working with arrancar. Yoruichi no doubt called other Captains as well, most importantly Yamamoto, so ensuring that they see an arrancar in the process of cooperating with the Soul Society could go a long way towards getting them used to the idea.
Or it could spark division, you really can't say.
“Are you an optimist or a pessimist?” Rosa asks deviously. “Me? I wouldn't chance it.”
>Let's take Starrk along.
>How about Halibel?
>Appaci's the talker, we'll ask her.

>Woman with illusionary armor
For what purpose?
>>44976838
So she can let her boobs hang free without shame.
>>44976838
You mean the armor isn't real or it has illusion magic?
Because Glamer would allow a woman in full plate to look like she's in a skimpy outfit.
>>44976838
So that she can look more wealthy/well armored, meaning that if she's walking alone somewhere, she's less likely to get robbed or raped or something.
Unless you can tell that the armor is outright illusory. In which case, there's not any fucking point in it.
Let's ignore GURPS for just a second.
If you could snap your fingers right now, and create a game centered around a fictional universe, or even a concept, with rules that were tailored made to fit and function perfectly according to that center, what would it be. I know at least five of you are sweating and rocking back and forth in your seat trying not to type GURPS and hit post, but just humor me.Pic related, I don't care if it's casual I want it.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Already exists, I think. And I already figured it out for GURPS.

I wasn't trying to be funny, I'm actually tired of people saying GURPS is the answer to everything. It's a good system, but it's not a jack of all trades.
They year is 1916.
After the failed first assault by Commonwealth forces, the Battle of the Somme has begun.
You are Corporal Thomas Hunt of the First Newfoundland Regiment. With the sheer amount of dead amongst your regiment from the first assault, you ought to have been promoted. Current circumstances however, have halted such an outcome. Never the less, Canadian Corporals already had duties comparable to higher ranked officers in other militaries. What was 10 men more under your command?
"Is there a Corporal Thomas Hunt present!?!" a young man shouts to the soldiers surrounding you.
You take a drink from your canteen and raise you hand.
"Right here, my good man!"
The messenger runs over to you. He is visibly out of breath.
"Here, sir, read this!" he hands you a piece of paper and runs off.
TO CORPORAL THOMAS HUNT:
THE HOUR OF ASSAULT HAS BEEN MOVED BACK TO 0700 HOURS PREPARE AS NECESSARY.
You crumple the paper and toss it into a nearby puddle. You take out your pocketwatch and check the time.
"Alright, men! The hour of the assault has changed! With accordance to the current time, you have 30 minutes to prepare!"
You are met with grumbling but the men begin to move about all the same.
How do you wish to proceed?

Getting Forge War for Christmas was an absolute gem. Only downsides are length and finding people to play it with.
>which game in your collection would you most willingly toss?
Cop-out option of Monopoly. Of games I actually pull out on occasion, probably Settlers of Catan?
>how long is your typical gaming dry spell/how long can you go before murder happens?
I sometimes have to go a couple months without board games. I find alternative entertainment reading or video games. I'd probably be pretty frustrated in half a year or less.

Now THAT is how you make a thread.

that image arouses me
You meet the Avatar's charge head on. The weighted silver of your fist collides with the crimson spirit-fire of the Avatar's claw with a resounding clang. The two of you stand dead-locked for a moment as you exert the force of your will against the raw animalistic need of the being before you. Threads of silver and red dance in the cold black emptiness around you as you vie against it for dominance.
You're in charge here. This spirit is bound to you.
The spirit-fire surges from the avatar's claws. You can feel the flesh of your arms bubble and blister under the unexpected heat. The ravaging cold of the void and the hideous heat of the Avatar's primal flame clash on either side of you, leaving you trapped in agony between them. You stagger back a step, then another.
The Avatar breaks the deadlock, leaping back only to pounce again as you stumble off balance. Jagged teeth and serrated claws tear into your arms as you bring them up instinctively to cover your face. You can hear the sound of snapping chains. Is your link coming undone?
Just what the hell is this place?
The Avatar's frenetic assault pierces your guard. One long talon rakes between your arms, tearing a thick ribbon of flesh from your chest. You let out a strangled scream as the spirit-fire spreads through your veins.
What's happening?
The Avatar presses its advantage. Teeth descend on your arms, bone-crushing force leveraging with practiced fury against your flesh. You can feel your bone whining under the strain, threatening to splinter apart.
It wasn't supposed to happen like this.
You scream as your arm snaps like dry kindling under the Avatar of Hunger's jaws. A lance of fresh agony pins you in place, senses overwhelmed.
It can't end like this.
You're not supposed to fall here.
You have w-work to do.

Have you ever been a "That Guy" for reasons that aren't necessarily bad?
Like the party deciding to dislike your character for sticking to pretty neutral character traits that might go against the party but ultimately supports/helps the party. Think an occasional, 'I'm not okay with this everyone is going to die' rather than 'No fuck you guys I'm getting everyone killed'
nigga english pls
I was called "that guy" because the DM's girlfriend tried to stab me and I was blamed for it. Because i was playing a kender. Yeah I know I might have deserved it. And it wasn't "that guy" since no one I know uses that phrase IRL, but more like "you are the fucking shittiest RPG player get the fuck out of my house right now"
>>44974933
What type of kender were you playing?
There's never an excuse for trying to stab someone, but you were playing a kender.
Then:
>A fighter
>A cleric
>An elvish thief
>A dwarf fighter
>A wizard
Now:
>A dark-elf thief-sorcerer
>A dragonborn paladin
>A goblin ranger-occultist
>A half-orc barbarian
>A warforged cleric-monk
I can't be the only one who's annoyed by this.
