I do wonder why people still think that Iron Hands are still hate and repressed emotions.
Didn't they finally realized how bad of an idea it was after the whole incident with the Sapphire King on Gaudinia Prime and got better?
I mean that was a chapter wide character development where they finally embraced their emotions and went cyborg Angry Marines on the Slaaneshi there.

Memes mainly.

Darn. Finally the Iron Hands ceased to be this asshole and people can't let it go.
At least it is something, though I'd like to see the rest of the Clans to be fleshed out. So far half of them got some fleshing out while the rest simply exist.

The Sakala is about 3 hours away from the FOB, operating the carrier without a full crew complement means that many of our systems are not operational. My intelligence officer tells me that the threat of attack is minimal so close to the border… still I’ll feel much better once we get to the FOB and reach full operational status.
This war caught us all of guard, we knew it was coming, but nobody expected it to happen so soon. The Sakala wasn’t supposed to be launched for another two months and the way things are going I feel we could have afforded to wait, but apparently high command knows something I don’t. At the end of the day I’ll be happy when we’re fully supplied and combat ready.

((Welcome to the Mecha Mercs Skirmish Campaign.
This is a tactical turn based collective game where each player takes on the role of a mech pilot. As the campaign progresses the players will accumulate a supply of resources which can be used to build up a persistent pool of mechs and equipment, but watch out! If your pilot dies you could lose it all and be forced to start again with an inferior mech.
Answer the roll call to participate in the mission.
New players check out the quick start rules in the pic. Existing players know the drill.

Ooh, a dorf civ.
Any stats, summary, setting of what has been going on?

Last time we escaped our homeland, settling in the tunnels/caves under a mountain range to our east.
We found the ancient ruins of an outpost and built a settlement on its site. We also managed to colonize the surface with a lumber camp, hunting camp and fishing village. We have also found a massive gold deposit to our south in the underdark and have established a second settlement to the west, on the surface and on the foothills of the mountain range.
We also had a nasty run-in with the Serene Republic of Palma, a merchant republic city state, they have forced us to become their protectorate and have already demanded large payments of money and tradegoods as well as 100 of our troops to serve as their mercenaries.
We are currently trying to get out from under the Palmese by building up our inland settlement out of sight and out of reach of the Palmese, and hiding our gold wealth and arms caches for an eventual rebellion.

How does one vote for an action by our civ?
Greetings /tg/,
I am working on a virtual tabletop setup/map builder and I am looking for feedback/input as to what you would want to see in something like this.
I know there are plenty out there, but none of them had decent map making/control schemes that I enjoyed.
Current Features:
**LAN networking between GM host (controls entire board) and player clients (can request player movements)
**Full line of sight system for as many player characters as wanted
**Lightmap rendering and baking - this makes the light casting static, but renderable on low-end machines (including my Note II android)
**moving and rotating of PCs and baddies
Most likely, I'll just end up releasing it for chump change (enough to cover web hosting) but without DRM, so that means free for you. Arr!
In any case, let me know what you think/what you would like to see in a virtual tabletop. This is mostly for play over a LAN system and merely used to display complicated maps rather than have to constantly put together those cardboard squares.

I dunno, I only just got the pdf from your post. Glad to see the Skill/Knack thing is a thing of the past.
So, today's update for followers was the reveal that Sorcery is now something you can get for FREE, as a Background. "No more something you have to pay half your points in character creation for", or something.
Question is, if it really is free, what's to stop everyone from playing a sorcerer, mechanically speaking?
>>45281335
Yeah I hope it's not just roleplaying penalties. That didn't work for DnD and Paladins...
Does GW even realise that there are other chaos gods apart from Khorne?
Why does every chaos based expansion or scenario or whatever have to be based around Khorne? He's one of the least interesting chaos gods, and that's probably just because he's so familiar and ordinary, we know what all of his units are going to look like and how they fight and everything about them so why not focus on another god for a change? They all seem more interesting or at least have the potential for more interesting stories and models than Khorne

What is the verdict on Roll20.net? Is it worth creating an account for? Can online beat pen and paper tabletop?
>>45277958
If you move away from your friends, and want to play long distance, accept no substitute. Otherwise just play in person.
Personally, I feel online can never beat a real table. But since the latter is harder to get compared to the former, sometimes you have to make sacrifices.
Yes, roll20 is good. It's actually pretty widely used, as far as I can tell. I'd recommend using a second program for out of character that, though.
Roll20 is a great system

We stand in the centre of the gutted town, Tarlick near dead silent, save the gusting of the wind, and the occasional whining of the sheepdog, which has taken to following right at my heels after I left his master’s corpse.
Alison showed me where she found the remains of Mr Johnson’s staff, under the wreckage of a candle makers shop, shelves and benches overturned, windows broken, clear evidence of a hard fight.
I even found a boot, one of Mr Johnson’s, one which the dog took one whiff of, before backing away with a whimper.
“He’s not gonna be much use as a tracker.” Alison remarks dryly. “He’s a pet this one, not a working dog.” She squats down, grimacing as she wipes some of the owner’s blood out of his shaggy fur.
“S-so they have Mr Johnson now?” Kara asks, “Down in this Oendal place?”
“It does seem that way…” I nod, holding up the eight pointed sun I found on the corpse, along with the note that the girls found. “Unless this is very elaborate bait to draw us to the wrong place.” Somehow I doubt it, call it a gut feeling.
“How long do you think they’d leave before the trial?” Kara asks, “W-we could still rescue him, right?”
“Hard to say, if they’re going to put him on trial first, he’s got a day at most, a few more if they’re saving him for a big finale.” Alison grimaces. “Their trials are usually done rather quickly, so I hear…. unless they want to torture something out of you. Find the ‘devil’s spot’.” She shakes her head, spitting on the cobblestones.
Night is falling quickly, and the redhead’s energy is flagging, it’s obvious to tell, but she insists on getting the boat back on the river, wanting to push on to Oendal.

>Bring the dog, he may prove useful yet
I squat down in front of the dog, brushing between his ears. “You wanna come with us boy?” I ask. He responds with a happy woof, spinning in a circle a few times, his tail bashing me in the face, before he stops, panting heavily. “That’d be a yes, alright, then let’s get going. If we can make it to Oendal tonight, the better for it.”
Between the three of us, we shunt the wooden barge out onto the river. The dog hesitates a moment, before leaping on, his legs unstable on the boat, he totters about for a few minutes, before cutting his losses and lying flat on his belly.
The river carries us south, Alison guiding us once more around bends in the river, as it narrows and widens intermittently. The sun sets the sky ablaze in pinks and oranges for the better part of an hour, as the seed of worry in my stomach starts to flower, the silence from the other two doing nothing to help.
“You can point us towards their church, once we get there, can’t you Alison?” I ask.
She shrugs, “There’s a few places they might be keeping him. There’s a few churches dotted through the city, some graveyards they run, a few hospices… though the obvious choice would be under the grand cathedral.” She shivers. “Spooky place, gargoyles and suns all over the place. Never been inside. Never much saw the point.”
You can’t say you did either. Dad lost his taste for religion and afterlives after so many years of rooting in corpses, by the time I was born, they didn’t even bother to have myself and the next two brothers up to even be named at a church.
Silence once more fills the air, save for the faint trickle of the river rushing past, the odd grumble from the sheepdog as he repositions… Kara’s leaning over the front of the barge, hugging her arms around herself, her cloak’s hood drawn low over her ears.
