Roll20 thread?
Let's see some of the cool stuff you've put together for Roll20. Maps, handouts, tokens, lore, whatever.

I ran a modern campaign for awhile and one of my players had the idea to use the above link for character tokens. Works great if you don't mind a bit of weeb shit. Pic related is an old character.

It’s an uneventful flight back to Valencia, and when you arrive you mostly just collapse into sleep. Knights don’t need as much sleep as regular humans do, but the fight with the Wendigo exhausted you and you still haven’t gotten used to sleeping on planes.
By the time you wake up it’s the next day. You pull out your trophy from the hunt – the severed hands of the Wendigo. Gruesome, but potentially very useful. Unfortunately, you lack the blacksmithing experience to turn the bones into proper weapons, but you’re sure you can find someone who does.
You find Isabella seated at one of the kitchen tables. She’s got her laptop up and is surrounded by papers – you an only assume Zodiac Court business.
You pour yourself a glass of water. “Busy?”
“Insanely,” Isabella groans. “I’m coordinating scouting reports with some of the other houses and double checking our finances…and the rats are back in the cellar.”
“The rats?”
“The estate is built on a ley line,” Isabella says. “Which is convenient, mostly. But there are these rats…I don’t know what happened exactly, but I think the ambient magic made them smarter. Their numbers surge every once and a while and the cellar turns into a war zone.”
Huh. That wasn't what you expected. “Oh. I could…help with that?”
>(cont.)
Isabella shakes her head. “We have a guy. He can take care of it. I actually wanted to send you…this.” She types at her keyboard for a moment, and you feel you cellphone buzz in your pocket. “I figured you would need a place to get those Wendigo bones worked on, so I sent you the information for the best smiths in Valencia. They’ll be able to whip you up something quality.”
You could investigate the rats – it’s not like the bones are going anywhere. But then again, with how quick emergencies can come up in your line of work, getting better weapons as soon as possible isn’t a bad idea.
>Investigate the rats.
>Go to Isabella’s smiths.

Welcome to The Lost Island Quest. Last thread our hero, Alan Rodain, escaped another moral dilemma, spent some time in the sewers and decided on his next mission. Now, he tries to digest the new information that Quissonce has brought to the group's attention.

“What?” Rowe asks, perplexed.
“I don't get it.” Gabby echoes, scratching the back of her head in confusion.
“So Alan's the master!” Eve snaps her fingers as she comes to this conclusion.
Quissonce rolls her eyes. “No no no. The Master is a completely different entity. If Havelove's writings are to be believed, The Master is a controlling, allied or benign entity in relation to hellspawn. Alan seems to be a subject that devils or at least this devil in particular fears.”
“That's . . . a good thing though, right? I mean, fuck if I know how Al already has a rep down in Hell, but devils are fucking evil. We want them afraid of us.” Gabby offers.
Kyra coughs once before contributing. “Devil thought Chant should be afraid too. Not a good vs evil thing. Something different. Assimilation?”
“Assimilation.” Quissonce affirms. “At least, that's what I think from my rough approximation of a translation. Infernal is not an easy language to learn and speaking it seems to require more vocal chords than I am able to utilize. Slight tangent, but I think it's proper to remind everybody why we shouldn't break the wizard's toys. Now assimilate is most usually defined as the act of taking in information, absorbing ideas, integrating knowledge. Incorporating and understanding something outside the self. As a description of Alan's skillset it isn't a bad one."
"However, we're all aware of it at this point and it doesn't appear insidious or as something to fear. Again, from what I can tell you don't seem to be draining skills or abilities from others, merely adopting them for your own purposes.”
“Yeah. I mean, I'm the one spending the most time with him and I don't exactly feel like I'm being assimilated.” Rowe comments.
“I think that means he's doing it wrong, Rowe.” Gabby quips quickly, earning herself a playful sneer from her target.
“What appears most troubling to me.” Dolah begins, interrupting the tomfoolery. “is that the denizens of Hell are both aware of and out to kill Alan. Whatever their reason is, that Barbazu is free to spread his slanders and use leverage his station to encourage other devils to slay you. We must be ever vigilant from this moment forwards.”

Quit lecturing my offspring you silly bint
Be very confused, since there aren't any elves in the setting and she's female.

Neo-anarchist edition
What has your runner team done to stick it to the man recently?
Previous thread:

>What has your runner team done to stick it to the man recently?
He's the resident street doc and keeps his neo-a chums alive and/or cybered. Also, going a bit Walter White with his drug kitchen, making batches of superior novacoke for the rich corp kiddies to funnel their parents' fund into.
Preparing to DM a campaign, I missed like the latter half of 5th edition's metaplot and am catching up now but it feels like this shit is more scattered than ever. CFD is a mess and I cannot seem to find what happened in the Aztlan-Amazonia war except for blurbs like some runners calling the Amazonian side terrorists now and that it is apparently over. Can anyone help me out on this? I am already dealing with having a 4 essence phys ad vampire join the game.
What are some 'mundane' superpowers or abilities.
Like specifically stuff that wouldn't be good enough to justify going adventuring.
If you can heal wounds or throw fire then you can be part of a team or fight enemies but if you had _______ you couldn't but it would still be useful.
I want stuff I can put on NPCs to make them interesting without making them adventurers
The ability to fly north or the power to turn to the hulk, but only when sleeping.
>>45340998
>>45340998
>the power to turn to the hulk, but only when sleeping.
That's INCREDIBLY dangerous if hulk is a sleepwalker
Also I meant something more like "ability to organize things mentally by size" or "Know where I dropped my keys"
>>45340972
Can summon mundane tools. It's useful as fuck in day-to-day life, but not really something that justifies being an adventurer.
So /tg/, what's with the quel'dorei?
Fluffwise they have this addiction with magic. As long as they use it and generically wield it, they are normal functioning members of society. As long as they haven't got it anymore, they become feral wrecks in need of a fix.
How does this work? Are they a heroin based civilization?
Does this particular kind of heroin influence their biology? Their eyes change to green with demonic magic intake after all.
Is it more insulin and less heroin?
Thoughts?
They were addicted to the magics of the Sunwell.
Scourge invade, 90% of the population gets dead, and then Sunwell basically goes boom when Arthas rezzes his BFF Kel'thuzad into a lich.
Elves are devastated and cut off from their source of magic, causing them to go into withdrawals.
90% of the remaining 10% rename themselves Sin'dorei (children of blood) while the other 10% of the 10% remain Quel'dorei (only 1%).
It's thus addiction that leads Kael and friends to Outlands in search of salvation.
Fast forward to the end of BC and the Sunwell is restored. Nearly five years later and the elves are slowly getting back to the normal state that they were before the Scourge came and wrecked the place.
In short, it was a dependency on the magics of the Sunwell, so when it went they had to substitute it's immense arcane power with Fel, as Fel is more potent than Arcane, but more corrupting.
>>45340874
Yeah but they're with the Horde now.
>>45340874
yeah, i know the history behind it, I just want to understand how the hell you can develop an addiction with withdrawal symptoms to what is essentially a tool, something you don't actually consume to live or to function normally on a day to day basiss, but you just use.
Does magic give you some enzyme? Do you need it to break down the carbs you eat?
It's not like if you accidentally break your smartphone, or your bike, or your electric toothbrush and cannot replace it anytime soon you get withdrawal symptoms?
Why is Brandon so often recommended? His books are shit.
>>45340275
Who?
>>45340294
Brandon Sanders
>>45340275
Because the narratives are (usually) well constructed even if the dialog and characterization is shit. It's the Honda civic of fantasy: nothing special to look at but at least it works...

What do you think of this?
I have 3 flex slots and I'm not sure what to fill them with.
I was thinking maybe another oath but most likely assemble the legion or balefire liege. Dark dwellers have been okay on testing.
Also, this deck has won against eldrazi. First game is rough but it's pretty easy after boarding in land destruction and the paths.
How do you play a character that hates his own kind/race, without turning him into Uncle Ruckus: Fantasy Edition?
But Uncle Ruckus is right. Why wouldn't you turn into him?
>>45339986
Imagine having such hatred that you turn on your own kind.
Its not really a character concept but more a mental illness.
Self hating racism is the most hilarious kind there is
My (jewish) nephew went on a rant this thanksgiving about how "somebody has to stop these goddamned kikes!"
What's your favorite not-period-appropriate thing to include in your faux medieval fantasy tabletop games? I like to point out to my players that their cellphones have no coverage when they're looking to roll for lore.

I like to do medieval fantasy with fashions being almost turn of the century in places.
The capital of one of my kingdoms is sort of like an idealized 19th century Paris with bohemian cafes, fancy boutiques, and elegant and decadent dance parties, all while knights and wizards go to war outside.
I have a 10x10 hexcrawl flashed (almost)out and planning to run it next week.
What to do when players are on the edge of the map and want to continue off the map? Do I just say you can't go there or do I invent an obstacle they cant cross?
How do you guys have dealt with this?
>>45340165
Make it bigger, of course.
Is Games Workshop too big? Tabletop has always been a niche hobby. So I wonder whether Games Workshop has expanded too much.
>>45338174
Personally I think that GW is in a bit of a shitty situation.
The main way they market their games is by having GW stores. Due to being assholes to FLGS they have lost their support. As such, currently the only way GW markets their games is through their stores.
Now they are losing money, so they would need to cut costs. At the same time, GW stores account for as much as 50% of the business expenses. Therefore one of the best ways for them to cut costs would be to close stores.
That however would mean losing a lot of visibility, which they would have to compensate through marketing. Since GW doesn't do any marketing however, and they have lost all the support from FLGS, they are in a tight spot.
They have to either try and continue to cut costs / increase profits by butchering their product line, which leads to their actual product becoming less valuable to consumers. Or they start to close more GW stores, which however means they lose visibility as no FLGS wants to deal with their shit anymore.
Overall the biggest problem that GW has is that whilst they were the market leaders they acted like bullies to independent retailers, and like assholes to their customers, and now that they are losing their monopoly its coming back to bite them in the ass.
