Raising the wine bottle to your lips, you take a long draught of its contents. The sweetness of the wine offers momentary reprieve from the increasingly dour conversation. Honestly you're a little baffled by the idea that Darzi, of all people, thinks herself useless. To you she's proven indispensable. She serves as, if not necessarily the moral center of your party, then certainly as the voice of reason among you.

Come to think of it, she really is the only voice of reason. Profectus seems too weak willed to speak against your fool notions, and Fulvia is very nearly incapable of doing so. Chryssa barely speaks at all, and since your falling out she seems even more withdrawn than she was upon your first meeting. Of course there's Mortia and Thaddeus, but neither of them seem like moral exemplars and both are nearly as reckless as you are. Then Zahak is but a child, and a highly impressionable at that.

Ultimately you sigh and offer the bottle back to Darzi. She takes it gratefully but doesn't drink, resting it instead against the swell of her hip. Spurred on by the warm glow of mild intoxication you fold your arms in front of your chest and adopt a mild, conciliatory tone. “Darzi, I'm going to be very honest with you for a moment. You're the only other person I'd trust to actually lead the party in my absence. You're the only one strong willed enough to take the reigns of command, and the only one smart enough not to get everyone killed.”

You hold up a finger, interrupting her before she gets the chance to speak. “And, I might add, for the most part what we do doesn't involve combat. It might be the case that I make a lot of challenges seem trivial, and it's true that despite routinely making gross errors in judgment I'm usually skilled enough to avoid major consequences. However, I wouldn't exactly call myself likable. Sure I can be persuasive, but let's not dance around the issue: I'm an ass.”

“Without you, Chryssa would've put an arrow through my head a long time ago. Without you, I doubt most of the party would consider one another friends. Without you, Darzi, I'd probably be an even more abrasive madman than I currently am. You bind the party together just as I determine its course. You're as indispensable to me as a man's limbs.”

Darzi nervously drinks from the shared bottle of wine, wiping her mouth on her sleeve when she's done. You think she might be flushed, but that could well simply be the alcohol. “I suppose there's some truth to that.” She admits, almost grudgingly. “But I want to be more than just the party's glorified mother. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the kind words, but I'm a warrior at heart. Fighting is what I know and it's what I enjoy most.”

She offers you the wine, and though you accept it you choose not to drink for the moment. Instead you wrap an arm around Darzi's shoulders and set off with her through the dimly lit hallways which populate the recesses of your family palace. “Then you know what I'd suggest, Darzi?” You pause to take a drink, before pressing the bottle back into her hands. “Take another look through Sadik's cart, find a weapon you like, and spend some of that vast wealth you've built up over the course of our adventures together. It does you little good weighing down the carriage.”

Darzi frowns, casting a wary glance at your hand on her shoulder but making no move to distance herself. “Perhaps I'll do just that, but I'd like to improve my own talents as well. Life, I've decided, is wasted if one does not constantly strive to improve themselves, and I cannot escape the sense that my own advancement has stagnated both in terms of my magical prowess and my skill at arms.”

Gunay Darzi - Colored.jpg

That's probably at least partially your fault. You've had a sense for some time now that your companions have been struggling in their studies of magic, but you haven't exactly done much to help them through it. “It's to be expected, Darzi. Inborn talent will only take you so far in terms of magical skill. You need a teacher, and though I'm the natural choice I've neglected not only your advancement, but Profectus and Chryssa's as well. The entire party's really. I'd like to change that but I tend to forget amidst all the constant scrambling from crises to crises.”

You've managed to find your way back to the more frequented reaches of the palace, the stairwell which leads to your party's rooms just up ahead and the foyer a few turns beyond. Darzi raises the wine bottle to her lips and drinks deeply, adopting a thoughtful expression as she passes it back to you. You've finished more than half its contents between the two of you. “Well, for now at least we seem to have achieved momentary peace, though I doubt it will last more than a few days. Perhaps you ought to get a head start on our training before everything inevitably falls apart.”

>A fine idea. Suggest the two of you retreat to your rooms and meditate on forms together.
>Why limit it to just you and Darzi? Rope in everyone, save Profectus of course. You won't be able to meditate on forms, but that's not so important.
>You really think it would be useful to get the party together and just go over the basics of channeling and magic with them.
>While it's a fine idea, you should wait for Profectus to wake up before engaging in any sort of party-wide meditation. For now collect Mortia and get her name cleared.

You awake in pitch black, in a room that smells vaguely of brimstone and cinnamon. As you rise from your bed and light the cinnamon candle by your bedside for light, you remember that today is a big day. It's the day you officially become an Evil Lord. That is to say, you are evil, and will be dominating the area as if you were a lord.

You clean up your armor and tie on your cape before heading down to the evil breakfast nook for a cup of black coffee and devil's food cake to start your day. Your daughter would scoff to see you having dessert for breakfast, especially after your last evil cardiologist visit, but it's a special day and she isn't around. As you enjoy your meal, you read from the paper, which arrives on your counter every morning via subscription based magic courtesy of entrepreneuring wizards. Nothing of real note yesterday, and you can't help but smirk as you predict tomorrow's headlines.

There is a knock at the gate of your black fortress, and you head out to see who would dare interrupt your reading of the comic strips with such an early visit. You make your way to the walls above the gate, and peer over the edge to see none other than Vanessa, your lovely daughter come home from university. She's graduated now, with her degree in Magical Engineering, and has agreed to intern as your secretary until you are up and running and she can find somewhere more established to hire her. The thought of working on evil with your little girl makes your dark heart flutter.

It doesn't seem as though she's noticed you yet, as she merely checks her manicured nails and sighs.

>"Who dares disturb me!?"
>"Begone, ye trespasser, or suffer the wrath of this castle's Dark Lord!"

>Try to find the rest of your Seraph teammates.
>You are an Adepta Sororitas, not a Navywoman. Go towards the Drop-pods and descend towards the surface of the Forge World.

People say that the Inmaterium is the closest thing to hell but right now the voidship you are in is a more accurate depiction of what the Imperial cult depicts as the Inferno. There is chaos and confusion everywhere and what once were ample and calm corridors now have turned into cramped zones where people have entered into a stampede and where the most weak ones ended falling and were quickly stomped to the death. Human herds were moved from the different areas of the ship like scared cattle due to the quick and sudden attack of the mysterious aliens.

They had had appeared in an instant and apparently formed out of thin air. They spawned into the cores of several high density areas and not even the bravest of the warriors could have been prepared enough for such cowardly attack.

Along with the chaos soon came several mechanic faults as the Techpriests that operated the heavy doors and other important functions of the ship were also being butchered. After the first seconds of confusion and chaos came the realization of the attack and the quick retaliation. The Navymen equipped their combat shotguns and proceeded to attack the aliens as best as they could yet there wasn’t much that they could do, the ample spread of their pellet launching weapons and the many people that were running away made impossible to aim and shoot without hitting or killing some innocent collateral damage.
>>
>>45396831

After looking at the grim and crude sight of scared civilians and navy workers you prayed and asked the God-Emperor of mankind for their safety and to imbue them with the necessary bravery so they can stop being cowards and affront the enemy. You wished to fight them too but the Emperor had trusted you a bigger mission, now you had to find your team and head into the planet, God Wills it.

Like and angel you strode and jumped above the scared people, some of them looked at you with fear while other saw in you a symbol of hope and strength. Luckily for you most of those corridors were high enough and had several pipes and other areas to grab into for you to be able to traverse them without the need to descend towards the floor, were the scared populace was. Quickly you started to advance more and more but then when you were about to reach the hangar where the Drop-Pods were located you found an impossibly grotesque scene.

Across your path you had came by several deceased bodies and even a shootout or two but it wasn’t until now that you had been able to fully see what were all those people running from. The room you were in was completely covered in gored bodies that lacked skin and musculature for they had been not only butchered but had their dermis stolen and turned into abominable fear inducing totems.
>>
>>45396855

The thick steel walls were now covered in spilled blood, remnants of guts and intestines and several long and wide claw marks. The light from the ceiling flickered weakly but every time it covered the room with its lux you became able to see more horror inducing details and specially the cursed being that had committed them.

A skeletal creature covered in metal and strange xenos glyphs, its viridian eyes were as empty and lacking as their own sanity. Its fingers had been turned into long claws that flayed the skin and twitched in what seemed like a perverted pleasure as they made their way into the chest of a poor crew member. It seemed that it was so obfuscated in its killing that it didn’t have noticed your presence yet.

>Aim your two Bolt-Pistols and open fire.
>Try to find another pathway.
>Use your Jump-Pack and with a grace filled jump simply skip it.

You are Tsukuda Ryouta, a Shinigami of the 12th Division with the unique role of an investigator of abnormal occurrences.

You've returned to Soul Society after capturing your target in the Human World's Berlin. You were given several days to recuperate, as your injuries were quite severe, and the fatigue of your previous battle has brought with it unpleasant health-related complications - namely, a cold. You're at no risk of dying, of course. A Shinigami is much harder to kill than that.

You were in hardly any state to leave your bed, so the mission report had to wait. Captain Urahara was too busy for a personal visit, but your jumpy colleague, Kagaku Oto, kept you up to date on the state of the human you've brought to Soul Society. Erwin has been successfully detained, and now awaits interrogation.

You've received a couple letters during your absence, and your Denreishinki also reports that you've been transferred a large sum of money. It seems that Kirino Moeka kept her word, though you can't verify if this really is 'half' of the bounties and not any less than promised; at this point, you can't help but wonder if the might have simply miscalculated.

Before you left, the red haired Shinigami had also entrusted you with a large cardboard box, which she wanted you to deliver to Minami Hikari, your ex-tutor back during the days of the Academy, as well as a mutual friend. Unfortunately, once again, you were in no state to give it to her. On the bright side, it should be easy to find her in the Shin'o Academy whenever you want.

As for the letters you've received, the first one is from Ito Satoshi, 8th Division, the Shinigami you've rescued from a Hollow during your first mission. He's thankful for your help, and promises to return the favor. "If you ever need me for anything, even if it's just for company, send me a letter, and I'll be right there!" Is what it says.

The second letter is, coincidentally, also from a Shinigami you've cooperated with during another mission - Sasaki Soren of the 10th. His letter is rather curt, asking to meet with you whenever you are able. "This isn't urgent; treat this letter simply as an invitation to spend time together informally, preferably somewhere in Rukongai." It says. Schedules are tricky to align between people from different Divisions, considering the unpredictability of potential assignments and deployments to different areas of two different worlds, but it's not impossible to organize something like that.

As soon as the fever drops and you're able to walk, you tell Oto to notify the Captain. On the next day, you're summoned to Urahara's seldom used office and give him a report. As you talk about Moeka's actions during your mission, he chuckles.

"It seems that your 'partner' has given you quite a bit of trouble, Ryouta-kun. Because she's in a different Division, I obviously can't punish her directly. Her Captain is a good man, but still, I can't expect him to just take my word for it. If you think it's necessary, we can start a case." Urahara says, his smile fading, though a glint in his eye still betrays a slight amusement. "You won't need to do anything. Just give me the word and I'll have someone handle it."

...

>"I think Moeka should be punished for her actions."
>"I think Moeka learned her lesson."
>"I doubt I'll ever have to see her again, so I'll leave the choice to you, Captain."
>"What do you think a normal person would do?"

I am Sief Atanor, heir of the Atanor family and the Golem Raziel. The past few days have slipped by in relative peace. My time is spent training with Paxton, and digging my way through the great mound of tomes on dragon cults, mining, and trade. The former at least continues to bear fruit, the longer I spend with my nose buried in books however, the more it feels like all I'm getting out of the experience is a headache.

Lucus mostly keeps to himself, always sticking close to his golem as Virgil works on the repairs, though to my relief he's seeming a little less on edge these past few days. I doubt he's anywhere near recovered from his ordeal, or indeed will recover from it for a long time to come, but it's good to see him looking a little less intense.

Tyra also spends most of her time in the hanger, pouring over all the notes and schematics still remaining on our property for Raziel's design, and over the materials gathered on my foray into the Iquani Expanse. I have no idea how she manages to stay so enthusiastic and well-rested despite spending what must be sixteen hours a day obsessing over my family's golem.

I have yet to hear back from Thurston regarding many of the matters we discussed some days back, though he did stop by to inform me that a message was passed on to Kristopher Ornrey regarding a meeting about the trade route. While there is no specific set time for the meeting, it would probably be best not to annoy the merchant by delaying too much.

I awaken to the sounds of my door being flung open with some haste, crashing against the wall behind, Tyra already fully dressed and wide awake beaming down at me as she dumps a pile of papers at the foot of my bed from under one arm, setting the lantern held in the other down on my bedside table. The long, frilly sleeves of her silk shirt are rolled back past the elbows, her long red hair tied back, as seems to be her habit when working on artifice.

It's not even light out yet.

“Morning Sief.”

Whatever my intentions for my response, what comes out is a confused mumble.

“I'm just about finished going over all the materials you've got, and I had a few ideas.”

“Can't this wait until morning?” I groan, bringing a forearm up over my eyes to shield me from the lantern light she's brought with her.

“There's light on the horizon, that means it's morning,” she grins, rifling through the pile of papers as she tries to assemble them into some inscrutable order.

I peer out from beneath my forearm. If there's light on the horizon, it certainly isn't visible from my bedroom window. Is this the kind of deranged schedule they keep on the Foundry Isles?

>Last time, on Digimang Quest.

Dash took to the city with his teacher, and after several solicitations, the two came up with nothing, until a stop for lunch revealed that the city had been experiencing glitches in it’s reality lately.

The glitch itself manifested as a news site, crossing over from the human world, with a disparaging note about Eva, before considering the possible clue.

Deciding to wait for more concrete evidence before looking into the source of the glitches, they returned to the ‘hotel’ whereupon Dash tried to Descartes a fairy six times smaller than him.

Patrician taste Dash.

With his advances mildly turned down, Dash passed on the information of the news rag to Eva, who’d been having a rough day. The two bonded for a while, got a favour off Aru, and the second Dash turns his back, a creepy stalker busts into his room.

Facing down a creepy cosplayer, Dash turned Elecmon into GUTSmon and oneshotted an Ultimate with sick skills. Rewarded with a new room on the house, Dash passed the hell out and got a good nights sleep.

Now, on with the Adventure!

You washed your face off, letting Elecmon enjoy his pampering a few minutes longer, before he finally sent the ladies on their way, his red fur now shiny and clean from brushing, his toe claws immaculately filed.

Guess they would know how to keep their appearance maintained after all.

“You didn’t see any of those girls kiss my cheek, did you?” You have to ask.

“Not to my knowledge.” He shakes his head. “Maybe before I woke up?”

Hmm. “Oh, and, uh, just so you know buddy, I’m gonna be out tonight. Invited Aru for dinner.”

“Can I come?” He asks innocently, his many tails folding close into each other as he sits up.

Eesh. “Well, we’ll talk about it later, alright?” Glancing around the room, “You know where Eva and Demi went?” He lifts a paw, pointing at a small side door, “There’s a small dining room through there. They went in an hour ago and never returned.”

Huh. You scoop Elecmon up and carry him through, finding the place deserted, with another door leading back out to the hallway outside. Still, there’s breakfast laid out for you in two places, so you help yourself.

Glancing around the room, it’s rather barren compared to the rest of the building, a soft carpet underneath, the table serving as the only furniture in the room, besides a grandfather clock, which bongs loudly for ten AM next to a balcony exit.

The hallway door bangs open suddenly, Jeff leading Gotsumon in. “Oh, you’re awake.” He gives you a smile, “Thanks for looking after my sister yesterday, man.”

You shrug, “No biggie, Elecmon did all the heavy lifting, I just got a cheap punch on him.”

Jeff nods, “Well, either way, thanks to both of you.” He jerks a thumb over his shoulder, “But the others were wondering if you want to hit the streets again today or move on? We’re not exactly having much luck, are we?”

“One more day of looking can’t hurt, at the very least.” You shrug.

See this
this is an ork
and this is the best description of 40k

Note how it's an ork, looks, acts, and talks like any orc in most fantasy stories you've heard of with the exception of a k instead of a c. But also note that it's full of mech parts attached to it and not in a way that seems natural in the slightest. That is how 40k rolls, a typical Tolkien fantasy but with a bunch of random sci-fi parts just sewn on it sometimes for function other times purely for aesthetic

It's ugly
It's stupid
and It's only focus is war, war, and more war (and more dakka)

but it's surprisingly straightforward and honorable in a way, a creature that knows what it wants and if you want it to it's the best to turn to

Something that belongs in a fantasy that's set in sci-fi
that is an ork
that is 40k

After recalling your demons back into the mobile COMP, you start swimming towards the distant figure of Fitz. No-man-left-behind is a generally good policy to follow, and it would reflect poorly on you as team leader. Not to mention the fact that you still haven’t yelled at her for diving into the water without waiting for your orders. It’s a toss-up at this point as to which one is the primary motivation for hauling ass towards her position.

But at any rate, it seems that Fitz isn’t likewise content to leave you hanging in the water by yourself. She’s also swimming in your general direction, with her strokes easily and effortlessly outpacing yours. And the kicker? In spite of being covered in bruises and light scrapes, she doesn’t seem to be even winded in the slightest.

Good Christ, what a monster of a woman.

Eventually, you both meet up at a point that’s at least a good ten-fifteen feet from the shallows. Here, it’s about six or five feet deep, give or take a few inches with the rising and declining swell of the tide. Far enough from the riptide to tread water indefinitely and, if the need arise, shout at her.

With as jaunty of a wave as she can without going under the surface, she flags you down with her usual trademark smirk stretched across her mouth, albeit slightly subdued due to slight exhaustion. “Well that happened,” she breathlessly says. “I dunno about you, Sawbones, but I never, ever wanna do that ever again. Next time we go up against a demonic water horse, you can take a turn at playin' water cowboy."

If fantasy races existed here in this real world of ours, which one would be the most bro-tier?

Which one would be the least bro-tier?

You mean "If GENERIC fantasy races existed here in this real world of ours".

Because "fantasy races" covers anything you can conjure up with your imagination, and not just the usual hurr-durr-orc-elf-dwarf shit that we get shat into our cereal bowls by autistic games devs.
>>
>>45387426
I believe you mean "fantasy species", and none would be bro-tier because "bro" is an individual personality trait. If we take culture into account then most likely none of them would be, because they're based on some conception of early/middle medieval times, and people were dozens of times more prone to killing one another outside of the battlefield back then.

Do you prefer your elves to be eternally in the highschool mindset, or eternally in the college mindset?

Huh, so this is 4chan. I have heard quite a lot about you all, Well, I'm sure this will be fun. Let me put you all to the test.

>Nyarlathotep, the Crawling Chaos has decided to investigate 4chan. His MO most likely means he isn't going to browse for fun.
>You have a few options to deal with him.
>Attack the Outer God and force him to retreat
>or
>Convince him to leave

>Rules:
>1. You can perform one action per turn
>2. Nyarlathotep is an Outer God, he can take a ridiculous amount of punishment, don't expect him to be easily beaten
>3. He is Nyarlathotep, remember that.

Since I seem to have mis-archived 2.5...

Hurm.
Lord Zedd was once the most feared name in the galaxy. Your name had spread terror all across the galaxy, as the prince of darkness. Yet you where stopped by Zordon of Eltar and his soldiers. Given a second chance you and your wife have worked to help the forces of light against the new evils of this world. Now as Desmond Lorde you work as the Serpenterran Ranger and mentor to a new generation of chosen rangers.

Your team of rangers, five in number are a meta-human mercenary ranger team, 'Peacekeepers' who you kept from getting eaten by Vlad the Vampire Bat Beast General by making them Power Rangers. Joining them as their sixth ranger, you continued the restoration process of Serpentera and was able to fight against the Beast Generals and their new allies Ivan Ooze. Two charges with two crystals at your disposal and now a magical mentor in the form of Flabber the Phantom.

Rita was still by your side when you awoke to find your surroundings having changed to your bed-room in the command center's living quarters.

"I'm going to leave soon, but I wanted to help you start your day. Your rangers need to adjust to their surroundings, and start training. I'll leave it to you to decide but for now I should mention that if you want you talk to our guests, their all ready to see you now. You're analysis for the mutagen is also complete if you wish to look at that."

>A. Send Rangers to get to know Stone Canyon
>B. Decide training parameters for each ranger
>C. Speak with prisoners (Fenris (Human Mode) or the Justice Rangers)
>D. Investigate mystery of the ooze.
>E. Summon Flabber for your magic lessons

"You have several options. The rangers have many allies, and the Bio Burst Rangers can watch for attacks." Rita says, giving you a list of more options. "You can send your rangers as a team or send them to individual places for optimized training. Some of these names might be familiar to you, and we're capable of even sending them off world."

>A. Order of the Claw (Earth)
>B. Wind Ninja Academy (Earth)
>C. Aquitar (Space)
>D. Phaedos (Space)
>E. Temple of Power (NINJOOOR IS HERE!)
