Your space honorable warrior race likes swords so much that they want to use then even during boarding actions against enemies with guns. Is there any way to make this make sense?

The last people to become deep sea divers.

>King & Son's Oceanic Surveying Co. folded late in the year, unable to stave off the debts incurred by constant delays. The delays were caused by a disturbing casualty rate among the deep sea divers; they simply stopped returning to the surface. The company's assets and few remaining dive suits were sold to a competing group. They scrubbed off the suits' distinctive crown logos and immediately put them to good use in successful dives arranged in the same previously unlucky waters.

>During the course of these new untroubled ventures two divers working at the absolute limit of safe diving depth happened upon a building of sorts; some type of oppressive colonnade sheltering a row of seated figures. A tentative investigation discovered that within the building were seated the drowned remains of the missing divers, chained in stone thrones. In front of each corpse drifted bundles of kelp, crustacean meat and other seemingly edible offerings. The dead diver's bodies themselves were coated in a thick layer of silt, with the exception of the still shining, as though regularly polished, stylised crown markings on the dive suit's outer plating.

>Upon return, with the intent of winching up the men's remains for proper burial, it was revealed that the entire submerged building had seemingly collapsed, dragging most of everything down with it into an unfathomable trench below.

Your hobo is constantly aroused.

Suppose you're a great general or something, in charge of a vast host laying a siege on a mighty city. After a great battle where you lost many lives but not too many, the walls lay breached, the towers ruined, the defenders routed, and the citizens at your mercy. The enemy empire is yours. All opposition has been crushed.

Well, save for this one dude.

He stands in the middle of a narrow alley, a small square far from the town center, the first floor of a random nondescript building, or some similar strange location of zero strategic importance. Anyone that challenges him, no matter the numbers or other advantages your army has, is wiped out: he seems to be utterly invincible. However, if you leave him alone, he has no quarrel with you - he does not seem to even care that the city around him is burning. If asked what the fuck he's doing, he does not have much to say: all he is willing to reveal is that he was "just told to watch this spot".

What'cha gonna do about him?

So a literal Demigod of war decided to sit his ass in the middle of some shit alley?

I guess we just leave him be, or try to hire him...
>>
Brick the fucking alley up obviously.

Maybe leave a flap for food.
>>
Offer to recruit him. Someone with such conviction and devotion - invulnerability aside - would make a pretty damn useful asset, a lieutenant or stalwart defender who leads from the front in further conquests.

If he refuses, assuming he's literally not abandoning his defensive position at all, I guess I'd just send out a construction team, guarded by a small squad of skirmishers or something, to just fucking pave over and brick up all of the entrances and exits of the building.

Dude can have his fucking position if he wants it, but if the goddamn hero king wants you to stay out of his zone, you'd best do what he says.

Never let it be said the life of a Totemist is a sedentary one.

Your dinner with Boand rapidly becomes the longest concurrent period of relaxation you have for weeks. The planning session you worked out over dinner is used as a part day-planner part bible as you navigate through the remainder of the week, and then the entirety of the week after that.

First, you prioritize your mobility. Quinn and Terra show you step by step their successes and failures in crafting the Totem of Quick Recall that sits nestled atop the one of your myriad workbenches. The spiky melon-sized shell is the easy part—the contents that must be inserted within and the essence of the Mists that must be painstakingly refined from the local flora takes you approximately a day to craft. Still, practiced hands make light work. You manage to craft two Totems of Quick Recall in a very short time.

One totem you bequeath to Boand, to deliver to the gates of Eluneia with strict instructions to relinquish it only to Coporal Rime or Lance Corporal Rookwood. The other is placed within the Stone Emperor's sanctum with his blessing. The former ends up installed in your erstwhile guest home, while the latter is tucked away in the corner of the Emperor's throne chamber.

With your burgeoning travel network in place, you begin clearing the miscellania from your to-do list. With apprentices in tow you set to work planting trees for both Sylvia's long-overdue Verdis Wyrm payment and Terra's pact with the Dryad. The work is difficult, but honest—at the end of day two you have a respectable shrine erected just within the southern border of the village to the dryad and a new copse of saplings waving cheerily in an autumn-toned clearing a short walk away from the village. Sylvia attends the end of your labor to commend you on fulfilling your agreement in what she considers to be a timely manner. You're glad she doesn't seem to have a strict timetable.

The vast majority of the next few days are spent alternatively in transit and buried in research. You test your new Recall totem by willing yourself across the aether to Eluneia. Once there you drop in on Tybald and Jun, checking up on your friends and alerting Tybald to the meeting you have planned a few days hence. He agrees make haste for Grisoch under the pretense of a hiking trip abroad. You tell him Jun is invited, but he doubts she will be able to attend. Her familial duties to the city keep her well occupied.

Your research bears unexpectedly succulent fruit. Your primary avenues are into two topics: The seal currently nested in Elana's eyes and the rumors and patterns of the Tyrant Wyrm. For the former you ensconce yourself in Ayren's library, poring over any notes that seem like they could date back to your early childhood. The oldest, dustiest shelves in the library are raided to little avail until Amal uncovers a thin leatherbound journal tucked away atop one of the taller shelves.

You learn that the seal is powered by a number of totems scattered around the village and a not insignificant reservoir of Ayren's personal spiritual power. Insured to work in the event of his demise, the totems maintain a sympathetic geomantic seal over the whole of the Grisoch area that coresponds with a small totem implanted beneath Elana's skin shortly after her birth. Disruption of any of these piecemeal could prove disastrous, but by bringing Elana to the totems scattered abroad and working with her to destabilize the lingering magics you could theoretically degrade the seals at a safe pace, allowing her to come to terms with her abilities on her own terms.

Your research into the Wyrm is primarily worked from Azeo Sicros. Hesheza Zahn brings you higher in the fortress than you have ever dared tread, revealing to you one of his most treasured tools: An array of crystalline panes and ley-line focusers not dissimilar to the chamber in your meditations. The Occularum is one part scrying lens, one part spiritual focusing chamber. The use of it is incredibly taxing—you nearly pass out the first time Zahn attunes you to the periphery crystals—but it allows you to throw your perception far and wide in search of traces of your quarry. Through the Occularum you learn that the Wyrm still roams the far-flung deserts of Asolaria, though the meat-poor climate of the dunes seems to be agitating it to head elsewhere.

So entranced are you by your research, you nearly forget about the meeting you yourself have called. Boand gently pings the Whirlpool Pearl, speaking through the nacre to inform you that Saeri and the Pointsmari surveying drones have made an appearance to the northwest. You ride out to meet them atop Auspicious Rest. The drones are spirits—a pair of mushroom-ridden earth spirits and a trio of hulking metallic machines whom you can only assume are a set of the Iron General's proxies. Saeri is overjoyed to see you, flinging her arms around you the instant you settle to a stop.

The next day sees the arrival of Tybald from the Brush, escorted by a nervous Siperco to the gates of the village. Clad in all the regalia of the Hawk but his suffocating helm, Tybald stands out nearly as badly as Saeri does in your humble village. You quickly arrange lodgings for them in one of the few unoccupied homes at the edge of town, installing totems as best you can to make their brief stay a comfortable one.

Though you had your doubts he would manifest, Avasi does make a return on the agreed-upon date. He streaks through the sky overhead, clad in a corona of whistling sunfire, before making an ostentatious landing on a nearby peak. With Tybald, Saeri, and Quinn in tow you ride out to meet him. He not-so-cordially refuses to join you within the walls of Grisoch, opting to wield the holy edge of Illithuvia with an immaculate craftsman's arm to carve out a temporary shelter and planning chamber in the side of one of the Ikrin peaks. Quinn and Tybald are impressed, while Saeri seems to be disappointed that such power would be squandered so wastefully.

Your planning meeting is less a strategy discussion and more an information-pooling exercise. Avasi is able to contribute a shockingly detailed history of the Wyrm's movements over the past few months, tracing a map for your of the kingdom of Asolaria. You reveal the plans you have crafted with Zahn's help: A ballista of grand scale, capable of firing bolts of spiritually-nullifying crystal at breathtaking speeds over the distance of nearly a mile, though only truly accurate within half that distance. Requiring tendons and sinew from a dozen dangerous beasts, wood from the heart of trees only present across the veil, and a significant stock of null-aspected crystal, the designs are ambitious. Still, Zahn is confident that piercing the Wyrm's hide with at least two bolts of null-aspected crystal will be enough to suppress its murderous aura and hypernatural resilience long enough for the three of you to work in concert and slay the beast.

Saeri offers Pointsmar-produced alternatives to the inner mechanisms of the ballista, while Avasi volunteers to serve the inenviable role of the hunter for the sinew and reinforcing scales of several shallows-dwelling oceanic predators.

Hey /tg/

A friend and I are going to be doing a 1v1 campaign, partially because we have no one else to play with, and partially because my friend is an old gamer and wants to help 'shake the rust off'

So we got to talking about it, specifically what game he'd be down to play, and which I'd be down to run. We've narrowed it down to 3.

3.5 DnD (the game he knows and is most comfortable with)
7th Sea (a game both of us are intrigued by)
and Deathwatch (a game who's settings and lore I'm pretty damn familiar with)

Thing is, 1v1 campaigns can be a tad tricky depending on the system you're using. I remember running a VtM 1v1 game waaaay back in the day, and that went rather well. I think that's because of the heavy emphasis it puts of roleplaying rather than smashing shit.

I'm just wondering which of these 3 games would be the best for 1v1 gaming. DnD I'm skeptical of, as, unless I'm fudging rolls or scaling the power back to a silly extent, one bad die throw and he's toast. 7th Sea, as I remember it, doesn't let heroes die unless it's because of the efforts of a villain, so I'm considering that. Deathwatch characters are themselves ridiculously stompy (being Astartes and all), so him getting wrecked is something that shouldn't be easy (assuming I don't send a Daemon Prince his way).

What do you guys think? Which one of these games would lend itself the best to 1v1 gaming.

7th Sea. 3.5 D&D is wildly dysfunctional for anything less than four players, and Deathwatch is a team game about being fuckups together.

I'm sorry but lately I have been asphyxiated with exams, school projects and my daily life and this is nothing but the start of what it is about to come for me.

As the school year comes to its end I am given more theory to study, more projects to work on and harder exams are designed to root out the ones who don't truly deserve to become graduated.

I am not stupid but neither a genius nor an stellar student. I simply cannot run anymore due to how constrained my time is and looking how this quest its in an all time's low makes me think that making a five month hiatus until everything has returned to normal isn't simply worth it.

It isn't your fault really, you all are awesome players. I will keep very fond memories of Stallingrat, Salt Mind and all those who preferred to remain anonymous. Honestly, thanks to everybody.

I will now tell how I wanted the quest to go, I don't consider myself a QM who forces railroads but I simply had a script to follow, a script that you all could fuck up and send to hell with a witty write-in or a completely botched dice roll at any time thought.

This script isn't ended thought, the end will have to be unknown for I simply didn't had time to come up with anything...

After that I will simply give time to answer before I disappear as a QM, maybe forever.

>Oihan along with the stormtroopers manages to turn the ice comet into smaller fragments. In their case their mining ship would have massive bladed chains the size of buses that they would have to guide with the help of jetpacks, when the comet became completely entangled the chains would start to spin and pull while the main drill starts to eject and completely turns the massive space rock into nothing more than gravel. Another ships nearby would use different exotic methods to do the same like using magnets or gargantuan bucket wheel excavators.

>As they finish their mission they manage to escape and see the Salamander Battle Barge pushing the biggest comet of them all into the forge world, several other ships are pushing more meteoroids and the ones who cannot be piloted anymore are using heavy ordnance to create explosions that manage to push hundreds of smaller meteors.

>Several green beams of energy coming from Gauss Pylons and Necron voidships try to stop those rocks but they are simply too many and too big to be effectively deterred and at the end they make planetfall, the smaller rocks turn into water from the mere friction and the bigger ones end melting after the crash, they altogether manage to create enough water to stop the Chronorganic Oxydizer and finally stop the deadly orange mist

>We would now change to a new character called Varenciah, the daughter of Eugen and Faust, the two Skitarii that we meet when we were purging the frigate back in the day. She has become a princeps while her parents are their moderatii. They altogether control a Reaver-Class titan that has a Power Fist and a Gatling Cannon

>She receives orders of destroying as many pylons and Monoliths as she can along with other Titans.
>>
>>45962873

>The initial plan was to descend onto the planet with the use of massive parachutes, antigrav engines and retro-rocket thrusters but the ship they are in becomes damaged in the hangar where the Titan is stored and the ship is forced to detach that hangar to avoid completely fracturing and exploding.
>She receives orders of destroying as many pylons and Monoliths as she can along with other Titans.

>The ship she is in is suddenly attacked and the cargo bay that holds her Titan is damaged beyond repair, several techpriests and hundreds of servitors are suddenly sucked out to the open void. The Ship informs them that to better maneuver and avoid further damage they will disengage the damaged cargo bay.

>Unable to equip all the high orbit parachutes and emergency landing rockets in time the Titan jumps from the ship before the cargo disengages and once it is in orbit it opens as many parachutes as she can, since there aren’t the necessary ones the few that have been installed quickly rip and offer little to no help but along with the landing rockets the Titan manages to reach the wall of the space elevator and grab its surface.

>By using its power fist the titan is able to grab onto the walls of the Space Elevator and decrease the momentum of its quick descent to acceptable levels. Part of the Elevator suffers critical damages and it cannot be used anymore but it is structurally safe.

>After descending the Titan sees that near the Pylons there are the sources of the Orange Gas. Shortly after destroying the first pylon several other Titans arrive from the sky. They aid her in destroying a couple of more Pylons and shortly afterwards they see a massive Ice meteor falling in the distance and exploding against the ground, after it comes a rain of water along with several other icy micrometeoroids that aren’t strong enough to survive the fall and turn into water in mid-air. In front of their eyes all the mist starts to dissipate.

>We would return to controlling Heracor once more. He’s made pass a medical exam along with the few survivors and rests for a while, he’s informed that the rest of the survivors will have their mind erased and be sent to far away words unknowing the fate that they had just escaped from.

>In his medical exam there are several doctors and medics along with them there is Fire in the Skin, the tribal and possibly psyker doctor that accompanied Commissar Oihan. After the exam they talk for a long time and catch up together, Fire has newly gained psyker powers but he has decided to stay as a medic. He has what he calls as the “Sight”, he can see the true nature of most people with even more accuracy than ever. After a while Heracor questions him about the nature of souls for he might know more than him.

“Imagine a tree, that tree is a soul, from its branches several delicious fruits loom and fall to the ground; these fruits itself aren’t bad but they cannot be compared with how delicious the tree itself it is. Its bark is made from hazelnut and xocolalt pastries, its salvia is the most delicious and purest honey and it is all sprinkled with cane sugar. This three isn’t alone thought, it is surrounded by uncountable more trees that create a lush jungle that extends as far as the eye can see; Daemons are the beasts that roam the jungle and feed of those raw emotion composed fruits, they would all love to jump into the trees but for most of them these are untouchable as they are covered by Majyyk wards, only the strongest ones can make it across and when they do they proceed to devour it all uncontrollably, when that happens it reflects in the Living Plane as a Daemonical Possession. I'm running a star wars campaign set after the fall of the Jedi Order, around the time of the height of the Empire. One of my characters wants to play as a force sensitive and I'm not sure how to go about it. If they want a lightsaber later on, do I give them an opportunity to give them one? Should I let them play as a force sensitive at all? What's the best way to go about this?

You are Tsukuda Ryouta, a Shinigami of the 12th Division with the unique position of an investigator of abnormal occurrences.

Kirino Moeka, the Shinigami you've worked together with during your mission in Germany, has asked you for help in returning the money she was scammed out of a few years ago. There's a high chance that the girl was tricked by a criminal group you have relations and influence with, so the ease of solution serves as largely the only reason you've decided to help her in this almost entirely self-inflicted crisis. Victims of crimes shouldn't be blamed, but perhaps in Kirino Moeka's case, it could have at least served as a valuable lesson in life.

Well, you doubt it would have taught her anything. Moeka doesn't even seem to understand why she's no longer trusted with any important duties after your mission together. Perhaps even in the current situation, assigning any blame to herself is the last thing on her mind. She might be thinking something along the lines of: 'the criminals were the ones who scammed me, so it's their fault entirely, and I've done nothing wrong by trusting strangers'.

Her obliviousness and incompetence are honestly rather worrying, not just in regards to herself, but to the people around her. You wonder if Hikari, Moeka's supposed friend, is aware of her friend's shortcomings, and if she's doing anything to fix them. You can't say that you know Minami Hikari all that well, but it would be surprising if she was knowingly leaving it be. But if she is trying to teach Moeka and simply failing... it's also quite surprising, considering Hikari's abilities as a teacher.

Well, hopefully, once this is all over, Kirino Moeka won't be something you'll need to concern yourself with.

Thankfully, resolving her situation was as simple as you anticipated it to be. If this hadn't worked, you would have probably just given up and gone home. The people you spoke to were rather disgruntled by your demands; you didn't expect anything different - after all, you're asking them for money they've gotten years ago, and have obviously put to use by now. Even so, they complied. While your relationship with them has certainly soured, you don't think that any problems will come out of it. You don't plan on getting involved with these people ever again, after all.

You've rented a room in the First District of Western Rukongai. It was early morning when you left for the meeting. The redhead was still asleep then, her mouth agape and drooling, blanket thrown off to the floor.

When you return, she's awake, and you catch her in the process of dressing up, still in the pink underwear she had been wearing as she slept.

"Oh no~! Ryouta-kun, how inappropriate of you to barge into a maiden's room without even knocking~!" Moeka exclaims using a highly exaggerated, dramatic tone. She covers her voluptuous breasts with one arm and her crotch with the other, and then wiggles around in faux embarrassment, unable to hold back a smirk.

...

>Don't indulge her. Throw her the bag and explain that you got her money back.
>Step out of the room.
>Other. (Write-in).
