Spread out the bottom pile more before letting the top half fall into the gaps, then push them together. just jamming them down into each other will cause average sleeves to break quicker.
Also shuffle with more of a slant downwards. He can easily see the cards and could shuffle them in an advantageous way for himself. This applies to his deck and yours when an opponent shuffles it.
Always put the deck on the table after and cut towards the opponent. Looks natural and leaves it in a good place for them to pick up.

I usually go for 3 weave shuffles; with the bottom half going into the top half, an overhand shuffle and then 3 more weaves after that. Only because I watched a math vid that said 7 riffles is what randomizes a deck.

I always cut my opponents deck with a half cut, maybe a little higher/lower for variance. But I never shuffle there deck. Also fuck pile shufflers, especially ones who count their cards.

I take it your a casual player? Pile shuffling is specifically meant to count your cards before a match and after SB, it's not even technically shuffling.

The Finals for the playoffs are locked in! One Night Rack and Animeted Clothing couldn't hack it past the semifinals last season, but they've both trumped their rivals (or surrogate rivals) to face off this Monday at 20:00 server time! Don't miss it!

Why are blitzers always depicted as having claws when they don't have claws?
>>
>>45995389

I think it's just a visual shortcut meant to make them stand out as more aggressive than regular players.

Useful for the races which simply making them bigger and beefier doesn't work, like elves or Orcs (because the blitzers can't be bigger than the Black Orcs).

Archmage Domain.jpg

You look round yourself at the open, grassy plains you find yourself in. The sweet, scent of fresh due wafts its way past you. The light breeze sways the surrounding foliage to dance. Only the oddly, out of place wooden door, standing as a lone sentry guarding nothing, provides any sign you are somehow still inside the Circle.

The atmosphere of this land is peaceful and quiet. It provides a stark contrast to the chaotic and bloody situation you were in moments ago. Something about it feels so . . . cathartic. This isn't the first time you've been outdoors among the undomesticated wilds of the world. But it is the first time the presence of nature has felt so freeing. It's glorious.

“Seen it before,” Kyra says, unimpressed.

Flid startles, a protest caught in his throat. “No you haven't!” he finally manages to fire back.

“We have a friend who made her own mirrorverse. Much more bland, granted. Your archmage here has an impressive aesthetic,” Rowe explains.

Flid chuckles and then raises a finger. “Ah, you misunderstand. This is no artificially constructed pocket dimension. A spell did not make this place. Magic and an artifact was necessary to bridge our worlds, but this place exists with or without our influence.”

“How big is it?” you ask, curious.

“Well it's a bit hard to tell, but we're pretty sure it's near to the size of our own planet. The only two major differences we've noticed are that there don't seem to be any sapient species and magic works everywhere.”

Flid Havrang.jpg

That revelation piques your interest.

“Why aren't we harvesting resources from –”

“Because we'd just be drawing another innocent world into a pointless, bloody conflict,” Rowe answers for you, arms crossed and eyes gazing towards the horizon. “This place is pure and untainted.” Rowe turns round to study a mountain range off in the distance. “A realm free of humanoid influence, exploitation or domination.” Rowe turns to Flid. “At least that's what the Archmage believes. She's keeping this a secret from Blackburn to preserve it, isn't she?”

Flid's slack jawed expression seems to confirm Rowe's astute postulate. He clears his throat. “That is the simplest way to put it, yes. The Archmage retreats to this place to meditate and focus on her spellcraft. It's off limits to all but her and the Circle Magisters. Even we are politely discouraged from entering or spending much time here. Especially since . . . well, here's the last fun fact about this place. Or at least about how this world and our world don't line up exactly. Time goes faster in here. An hour in our world is about six hours in this one. Which makes it bad to stay here for long periods of time. As temporal beings it would become obvious we're aging faster than we should be.”

“Unless you're immortal,” Kyra points out. “Archmage an elf? Elves immortal?”

“Yes. At least, that's what Essentia tells us. I doubt I'll live long enough to prove her wrong. But what's important is that it has been – what? – an hour, maybe forty minutes since everything went sideways. Essentia and Stephen have been in here for anywhere from four to six hours already. They could be anywhere on this planet and right now we don't have the resources to locate her. The Archmage can take care of herself. Right now we need to deal with whatever is happening in Seaside.”

Ask Languid Anything: ask.fm/HellbornQM

You are Sierra Beckhoff, and you are kind of a huge jerk. After Moriah told you to not rush ahead on your quest for power, you sort of went and did exactly that behind her back. And you also half-killed her brother. But you don’t really have to tell her about that tonight.

Allegedly, it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission. But as it turns out, it’s not actually easier. It’s harder. You just have to do it by that point, so you don’t have any choice in the matter.

You don’t feel bad about your decision, though. If you had other options, you probably would have taken them. But being right doesn’t mean you’re looking forward to Moriah’s angry face.

--

You manage to escape the house (and Cassandra’s laughter) without taking too many casualties. You’re on your bike, riding down to the Crowther house. You should probably text or call. But you find yourself dreading it. Maybe you’ll just show up.

Sanity: 90
Stress: 5

A complication presents itself. You’re running out of gas. Road trips will do that, you guess.

You stop at an empty gas station and kick out your stand by a pump. Traffic is thin, and only an occasional car whips past behind you. This time of night doesn’t see too much business. You get the pump going, and sit back and try to ignore the hard scent of gasoline in the cool night air.

You’re thus engaged when a little guy in a brown tweed suit walks out of the gas station, inhaling one last puff of smoke before flicking the chewed butt of a cigar onto the ground. When he stomps it out, and that’s when your danger ring starts buzzing.

Your attention gravitates toward the newcomer as you search for the source. Something about the little man’s general demeanor is familiar to you. And then you realize where you’ve seen him.

It's Nabuth’shazzar, General Meckor’s right hand man.

The tweedy Stygian turns toward you. “Hey kid,” he says, blowing out a last puff of smoke.

'I know that you folks just went through a lot, but I have some good news.' King Kai mentions. 'Kami's managed to work some things out. Just like Izumi, Mutaito, Gohan, and Acer did, they can keep their bodies after death. They'll be training under me, with some other students of mine. Looks like that good word you put in a while back helped speed things along, Acer. Though King Yemma's still a bit miffed over the paperwork.'

"Hah, the big red guy came through after all!" Acer shouts, pumping his fist in the air.

"Wh-who all is there?" Lazuli asks with a tremble in her voice.

'Piccolo and Kami just arrived, and...' King Kai's quiet for a moment. 'Yep, there they are! ...ah, Princess Snake, huh? Well, good of you to not fall for that trick.'

"C-can... can I...?" she asks nervously, getting an answer immediately. The three of them talk privately for a moment, her eyes watering again, but a smile finally coming across her face. "...we'll get you both back. I promise."

'Ahem. Anyway, I think that you should keep those fruits until you need to use them. Or, alternatively, at least make them a goal for you folks on Earth to train for. Those of you going to Namek, I'm sure you'll have something else in store for you, once you meet their Elder.' King Kai finishes.

"Then I guess I won't be there for that." Raditz's voice states. He approaches you all with Goku, his face stern, but focused. "I'm... going to be leaving Earth for a while."

I want to make a Meren deck
It seems like the playstyle would be somewhat similar to my Sheizo, Death's Caretaker deck.
However I could swap most of my weenie black cards for powerhouse cards.
That means the deck would be much better at recovering from board wipes since the power of each of my cards is increased (for example, drawing a 5cmc demon vs a 2cmc 1/1 weenie)
Plus, mixing in green is great because I get access to mana-ramp without needing to break the bank on all those pricey mana-rocks like mana-crypt.
There are so many two-color lands that I'd probably never get mana-screwed.
And because of Meren's ability, I can do stuff like tutor things into my graveyard or run cards that mill myself, and then because of that I can also run cards that return cards from my GY to my hand (which can be pretty efficient, and can be better than card-draw).
She seems like a strong general to me.

I'm just going to take a guess here, but do you guys think I'm a tryhard if I run a general that was basically made for the format?
>>
>>45990977
>do you guys think I'm a tryhard if I run a general that was basically made for the format?
Only if it's Derevi. Otherwise no.
>>
>>45990977

Meren isn't one of the most broken precon commanders, so I don't think building her makes you a tryhard at all

And regardless

The most broken precon commanders, prossh and Derevi (and daretti), are only a small step above or below the most broken commanders from normal sets, zur, Narset, Azami, Brago

So I don't think it's bad form to choose a precon commander

Discussion: A central premise of RIFTS is the tension created by people sacrificing their humanity to fight the inhuman.

How has that played out in your games? Do those characters who do take the options to sacrifice their humanity - Borgs, juicers, D-bees, etc... deal with challenges related to those choices, and if so how do you incorporate that without simply making them barred from half the places your players choose to visit?
