Isn't Voldemort the equivalent of a jew pretending to be a nazi though?

ITT:
Playing Against the Party, or, How Not to DM.
The solution is to make the campaign better suited to them, confront the group explicitly, or trash the group and find a new one.
>>46001995
Should've enticed them to the idea of a crusading paladin only party. Chaotic crap/neutral can mesh in that pretty decent.
>>46001995
Should have asked them what type of game they wanted to play, instead of just deciding beforehand without confirming it with them.

Love fantasy and scifi. I go to quests for the escapism mostly.
>>46000737

I liked both SoL and action with a preference to modern fantasy. But I am more about the characters and interactions, than the genre.
>>46000737

I guess fantasy, since I don't think I'm capable of doing anything else well at allAlthough that isn't to say I can do fantasy well either.

>Last time, on Digimang Quest.
Dash, Leomon and Guardromon managed to fend off an old foe who’d returned in an attempt to finish them off, leaving our hero unconscious and on the brink of death for some time.
Dash in turn managed to stop himself from freezing to death with a little shared body heat, and a new magic trick to keep his body warm.
Taking a few hours to put everyone back on their feet after having their asses kicked super hard, the group moved on, reaching the final bridge towards their goal, Tuhm Blur, they breaked for lunch by the seaside, only to be assaulted by another aquatic foe.
Quickly beating down their Champion level foe, the group, at last, headed into the city of hippies, the terrifying scent of vegan burgers on the air.
Now, on with the adventure!
The stench of over strong coffee and plants you doubt are medicinal hangs low over the city as you drive towards Tuhm Blur, the last bridge crossing the ocean, away from where the Seadramon had just assaulted your group.
Casey sniffs the air, “Is this what your house smells like?” She asks, genuinely curious.
“Typically not.” You sigh out, “Thankfully.”
You follow the RV as it tries to do a circuit around the perimeter of the city, but eventually end up getting hoarded off onto a side street, then down another, and another, and soon you’ve lost any sort of direction as high-rises and skyscrapers that seem to be empty tower above you in every direction.
Eventually you just kinda stumble into a parking lot, reconvening with the others and trying to figure out where to go from here.
With no leads on Zeke or his allies now that you’re in the city, it’s hard to tell where to look. There doesn’t seem to be any of the glitches affecting the city, at least not in the half hour you’ve been here, but that doesn’t rule it out.
The street outside the lot swarms with Digimon, some of which look kinda familiar, but different, ranging in colours from what you’ve seen.
The hazy smoke over the city also seems to be making everyone hungry and unfocused… including you kinda, despite having just eaten.

Pretty standard fantasy schlock set a hundred years after a Legion of Cato-Loyal Romans land on a planet that is basically a connecting point for everything in the universe and got into a fight with a bunch of Elves who act like particularly aggressive proto-gauls that cursed them to never bear female children, forcing them to go on constant conquest for women into elven land. The book focuses on their second war with the only Human kingdom they've ever encountered in a bid to get back the legionary standards they lost in the first war.
Really though, it's all a backdrop to a romance novel.
>>45998128
For better or worse, mostly stuff catering to my magical realm. It's not really THAT smutty though, the focus is more on the plot. The realm is just extra motivation.
I've also decided to start writing out my character backstories for PnP games as little vignettes.
>mfw the first backstory subtly involves my magical realm
I mean, I didn't intend for it specifically, it just kinda happened.
I'm a horrible person.

Against my better judgement, fanfiction.
What might be a good system for a bombastic science-fantasy campaign?
To get a little more detailed, here are some specifications.
> It can't be too "hard" or serious. Magic and lasers and monster, oh my!
> It does NOT need detailed space travel rules or anything of the like.
> It shouldn't be geared entirely towards combat. Players are going to be doing more exploring and negotiating than smashing.
> There shouldn't be huge room for optimization or high variance in character power. This is a one-shot so no one wants to have to learn a system inside-out just to play a competent character.
But most importantly, I intend this as a one-shot that will encompass a larger scope than usual one-shots. It'll be a classic "save the kingdom from spooky threat by uniting the various factions" sorta deal, but I want to get it done in one extended sitting (maybe a full day of play). Because of this, any single combat can't take hours. To sum it up: the system doesn't need to be rules-lite, but it has to be fast.
Also, general "spoonfeed me a system based on my needs" thread! I'll pitch in if my limited knowledge proves useful.
>>45997402
GURPS; Use only the basic set, pregenerate some characters for your players. Have fun!
>>45998527
Thanks! I've heard that GURPS is better for gritty games though?
I didn't stress it heavily enough in my post, but when I said "bombastic science-fantasy" I really meant "irreverent and goofy science-fantasy".
Ludicrous things like a hatchet-wielding alligator monster fighting a heavily equipped tech-mage should be able to happen without being a landslide (and without resorting to just giving the brute more XP to spend).
>>45998955
If you make everyone take the "Luck" advantage, then the lethality level shouldn't be too high.
you return to this place
to that which communes with the lesser
and that which is never alone
ignoring your actual family
ignoring your actual friends
for what purpose?

I walk up to Gabrielle and start ruffling her soft, fluffy hair. And she actually -lets- me do it instead of pulling away like I was expecting her to.
"Sorry," I say, "I'll try not to be so reckless in the future."
"You better," Gabrielle mumbles. "I was worried and Charlotte was worried and Shary kept bugging me to call Mina to ask where the heck you were but SHE didn't know..."
And now I feel even more guilty than before. Way to go, me!
"...so?" Gabrielle finally steps out of my reach and places her hands on her hips.
"so?" I repeat.
"So where the heck -did- you go?"

Hey /tg/amers, what's some shit you'd like to see in a viking campaign that you don't usually see in a viking campaign?
Still within the fantasy genre.
Russians. It's always about Northern Europe, but Kievan Rus was settled by Nordic people. Why not have some Russians get involved?
Can we agree that the Adeptus Mechanicus is the best faction ever?
No.

I'd love to agree, but these niggas exist.

My homebrew wargame. Freshly updated after a test game with a friend today.
Old thread - >>45954792
Just to give anyone who cares an update, I'm still working on Skyresh. Everything is going slower than usual because I entered finals month and have to pay attention to more college stuff, but I should be coming back with "almost ready to test" things in a week or two.
Still trying to figure out how to make stats grow organically without making the system abusable, while not limiting it too much.
Also I stepped over to a d100 (actually a d%+d10) to make modifiers more interesting and overall scaling slower.
