Confess, /tg/.
You had one, didn't you? When you were younger, you imagined someone like yourself, but cooler, stronger, faster, smarter. You imagined this guy/girl in all kinds of adventures, making friends with or beating up characters from your favourite games or books or cartoons or movies.
Your overpower self insert OC. Come on. Who were they? What were they like? What was some of the coolest shit you thought of about their powers or adventures, or at least cool at the time? What settings/characters did they prefer or hate? It's alright, let it out.
He was just, really strong and really durable. Imagine Asura from Asura's Wrath mixed with Jugo from Naruto. Mutable bodied take. He cracked a planet in half once.

What were some stories you thought of?
Hoping for the thread to fill up before I unleash my own
4th edition SM codex was objectively the best one. Is there any conceivable reason why GW couldn't include the trait system in future books?

Is there any conceivable reason why you can't houserule it in?
>>46053041
I actually enjoyed the 5th one far more.
GW needs to keep changing small details about the game between editions to sell new books while doing the least amount of actual work.
So how do you get pictures for your characters ?
Do you draw them yourself and if yes do you prefer them super detailed or stick figures ? Do you simply find a picture you like and then base the character on it ?
Personally I grab a picture with fewer details and minimal amount of clothes like this one and then draw over it to get a few versions of the character: armoured, casual, wounded, etc.
I draw them myself, in some amount of detail.
I browse art sites until I find an existing character who looks similar enough to the image I have in my head (and edit them to more closely resemble that image when viable).
I do this because it grants me a huge library of artwork I can use while pretending it is technically 'my' character, even though I know it's not.
I do lots of graphic design stuff and general editing in PS, so having vast selections of pictures to choose from is very handy for me.

>Do you simply find a picture you like and then base the character on it ?
Pretty much. Can't draw or justify spending my limited dosh on drawings of my imaginary mans.

/tg/'s a bit dull today I see.
Wo are the strongest gods in 40k, and why are they Gork and Mork?
Do they even exist in the warp? I don't recall any stories about interactions between them and the chaos gods. Wouldn't the chaos gods want to eat them like they did the Eldar gods?
>>46052561
They do exist in the warp - and the Ork codices outright state they shrug off all of the Chaos gods' attacks on them. They're also way older than the Chaos Gods given the Orks in general are.
Only reason they haven't krumped everything else in the warp is because they're too busy krumping each other. They also ensure that Ork souls are given an endless afterlife of fightan' and winnin', instead of being murderfucked by Daemons.
>>46052586

Just like the Orks in the materium.
This is why Ghazghkull has to be stopped or else EVERYTHING is fucked.
No rest for the wicked it seems, as the warring countries of the great interior desert prepare for a meeting of diplomacy, the Camel corps is contacted by a shady spokesman and asked to hunt a squad of rouge mech pilots, one of them being the pilot of an extremely deadly experimental mech, though it doesent sit well with the 3C, a contract is a contract.
((Welcome to the Mecha Mercs Skirmish Campaign.
This is a tactical turn based collective game where each player takes on the role of a mech pilot. As the campaign progresses the players will accumulate a supply of resources which can be used to build up a persistent pool of mechs and equipment, but watch out! If your pilot dies you could lose it all and be forced to start again with an inferior mech.
Right now we are currently in a Hanger thread where the players can talk shop, ask the QM questions and take time to upgrade their mechs before the game progresses.
We are currently accepting one new player, if you wish to join choose a quick start build in the pic. (First come first served.)

Due to company investments, all new pilots can learn a free skill from the center ring of pic related, you may only choose one.
>>46052471 New pilots will be provided refurbished mecha, with some admittedly limited gear for their first sortie, new pilots are expected to manage their own income and personal arsenal after the first sortie and payout
Payout occurs at the end of every sortie, fees will be deducted pre-transaction from your payout for company fees (I.E. Re-arming your spent ammunition, repairing damage incurred in battle, ect

Yup.
And annoyed they aren't following the family tradition of soldiering but supportive of paladining. Though he could write home more, it's dangerous out there without supply lines- yes I know you can heal yourself son but it's still dangerous without other healers to back you up. What if you're unconscious? And I don't trust that wizard of yours.
>>46052299
One rogue I played kind of had a family. He was a street orphan that was sort of raised/watched over by a street whore. She did not mind him stealing for a living as her lifestyle wasn't exactly savory. Eventually he leaves with a caravan group and or adventuring party and uses his thieving skills on the road for reasons. He still feels fondly for the women and makes sure to send her enough to live comfortably once he is able. Also he visits her when he can throughout the years.
>>46052299
Yes.
She got into a little trouble at home, and to avoid starting a blood feud or something, wise old poppa suggested she go out and adventure 'round a bit, let hot heads cool of and hearts in the tribe grow fonder.
That was two and a half years ago. And years are 18 months here.
But assuming nothing has changed, she has her father, a shaman, her stepmother, and her slightly younger halfbrother, all waiting at home.
And, definitely not at home, she's found her actual mother is alive, her actual grandmother is alive, her mother's lineage is apparently royalty in this strange foreign land, and grandma is a hell of a bitch.
What do all y'all think of Epic? I think it's a fun alternative for casual MTG, maybe even better.
I played a couple games at a convention. IMO its not different enough from Magic to be interesting enough to pick up. But, if you want a MtG clone without landscrew, its perfectly serviceable.

How do?
It seems a bit forced. Tainted Chains is nowhere powerful enough to be a build around for an entire deck, so what do you do when you don't draw that card? Play st traft? What else?
You must Really like Windborn Muse.
>>46051701
True, I guess the deck would have a few control oriented spirits like Eidolon of Rethoric and the rest of the deck would be like a UW Control deck, that was my initial idea.

Changes:
>Reddit’s Welcome to Netrunner Post includes the Beginners FAQ, redundant link removed.
>Floor rules linked directly to the pdf instead of the FFG post to match the faq and MWL.
>FAQ doublechecked – it’s up to date.
>BGG’s podcast list out of date by around a year or so. Removed, replaced with some individual active casts.
>The previous BGG geeklist of sets has been out of date since H&P. Removed link.
>As much as it hurt, Ono-sendai dead link removed. RIP Ono-sendai, we’ll miss you.
>Meteor’s moving, address updated: http://meteor.stimhack.com/
>Netrunner math removed. It’s been dead since C&C.
>Bad Publicity link cleaned up under videocasts.
>Willingdone added to videocasts.
>As cardgamedb is FFG’s thing, its card list been moved to the spoiler section.
>OP timestamped.
Questions and Notes:
>Does anyone actually use cardgamedb’s deckbuilder? If not, may as well remove clutter.
>Same as above with Little Chiba. It seems to piggyback off of netrunnerdb, in which case, why not just link people there?
>Considering removing Strange Assembly from Articles and Blogs. Last mention of Netrunner was Dec 7th, 2015. Last full netrunner “Thing,” was September 2015, a tourney report podcast.
>Willingdone is still relevant? Honestly having trouble telling. If he’s out of date, willing to remove.
>Team Covenant and Cardgamedb seem to be podcast directories now with some articles and interviews in the former’s case. Leaving as is.
>>46032630
As the guy that "updates" every so often the snipped (usually just the FAQ), thank you. There were some stuff I was afraid to remove or change because I don't know how useful it might be for a new player. Like the math blog that I thought it was outdated and didn't share his approach.
Some thoughts:
>>As much as it hurt, Ono-sendai dead link removed. RIP Ono-sendai, we’ll miss you.
Ono-sendai might be dead, but after anon asked about it the last time I added back the link to its Github in case anybody wanted to build it for himself, or start a new one.
>Questions and Notes:
>>Does anyone actually use cardgamedb’s deckbuilder? If not, may as well remove clutter.
Nobody actually uses it. It got better but netrunnerdb, acoo and meteor are still better. But cardgamedb is actually the "official" deckbuilder with FFG behind it to support it, so I always left it there, even if it's only symbolic.
>>Same as above with Little Chiba. It seems to piggyback off of netrunnerdb, in which case, why not just link people there?
Some anons were dead set on using Little Chiba back when the list was created.
>>Willingdone is still relevant? Honestly having trouble telling. If he’s out of date, willing to remove.
Willingdone channel seems to be active in reddit. He posted a Kala Goda review a month ago. But seems like he's making Doomtown reviews too.
