Last time we secured major victories in the war against the kafi-pajit-hibibi alliance, after which we struck peace with them to our great benefit, taking territories and reperations as well as securing the pajit throne for Bahmamu, the general we brought on our side. The democratic government was restored and we are now once again at peace, rebuilding our nation.

A thread where we make a setting, one post at a time. Magical realm or setting-breaking additions can be ignored.

To start: Goblins are the most populous race in the setting, and are prone to extreme mutations and defects.

Put in some rules OP. We don't want chaos in here.
>>
Goblin mutations and defects are valued in their society, and the most fucked up and useless Goblins are considered the most holy.
Able-bodied and minded goblins do the most work and worship the Defromed as living gods.
In truth, goblins are incredibly sensitive to the heavy pollution of a more advanced civilization.

I know 40k plasma operates by having containment flasks from which hydrogen is fed into a fusion reactor inside the gun. There's it's turned to plasma and ejected via a magnetic field.

Pulse weapons don't use hydrogen nor a fusion core, they use projectiles and induction fields.
>>
So going back to my question since the other thread ended. Are terminators worth it? I know they have a 2+ armor save and a 5++ but they have 1 wound and five of them cost about 200 without upgrade's. The 2+ save is nice but if your hit with enough attacks in one turn it may not matter. So are they worth it in any way or is there a better alternative?

Thoughts?
>>
>>46055412
IIRC, Pulse weapons use a projectile that creates a plasma sheath that allows it to travel farther and faster than it otherwise normally would. It uses plasma, but it's not a "true" plasma weapon.

I have never played any game using the PbtA system, but I see it mentioned a bit here. I tried reading through the core book to get some answers to the questions I have, but I've always been horrible at reading rulebooks of all sorts. I was hoping that you could answer some of my questions, and if not, just let the thread die.

I've seen mentioned that the rules tie in with the setting/the setting "is the rules". How does that work?
In which way is it easily hackable?
Is there a possibility to make it a "generic" system, or does that conflict with the "setting is the rules"-thing?
Is it suitable for longer campaigns?
Overall pros and cons? Do you like it? Would you recommend it and why?

>also general I guess

Hello, Reddit
>>
>>46055140
>In which way is it easily hackable?
Core mechanic is very simple, rules rarely stack or compound, making changes simple to execute.
>Is there a possibility to make it a "generic" system, or does that conflict with the "setting is the rules"-thing?
It conflicts.
>Is it suitable for longer campaigns?
Depends. You have to think about how fast you want to advance in a campaign, etc.
>Overall pros and cons?
Pros: simple,f reewheeling fun. Good for playing like you played D&D when you were 12.
Cons: Breaks if you play it like an MtG player. Virt will sneak into your house and rape you.
>Do you like it? Would you recommend it and why?
I'd definitely recommend it AW and DW as good reading for their view on DMing, and I'd probably recommend DW for it's niche (fuckabout dungeoncrawl play).

"Kobolds have long since been a race of servants and tinkerers for Dragons and draconic creatures who they claim a desendance from. None truly would admit this, surely not a Dragon who kept them as at best favored servents and at worst a meal. Though some would argue Kobolds have such potential in which a Dragon might not see."
Ah a renegade Kobold, either on their own by choice, banishment from a chief due to some sort of crime or idea that they could overthrow them, or perhaps the last survivor of a rampage of adventurers who stole every bit of wealth. Adventurers had a habit of stealing everything not nailed down.
Though what is the Kobold's main set of skills that helped them survive?
A: Ugrand Darktalker: An Alchemist Kobold who's skills at potion making and other things helped keep other kobolds alive and only survived the attack on his people because he was out looking for herbs for more potions.
B: Lady Darkmantle: A Red kobold priestess who, while outcast from her past tribe due to her mentor fearing she was gaining too much power compaired to her. Her blessed powers from Nine Hells and Abyss grants her powers and possible contacts with evils beyond her race.
C: Vine Leafwalker: A Kobold Ranger and Trapper who had left his tribe long ago to seek out more understanding of the wilderness off the mountain where they lived. Currently his skill with basic combat and primarily his skill with his bow has kept him alive and in the know in his forest home.
D: Write in.

It is 2,016 years since the Battle of Munda in southern Hispania; tthe final battle of Julius Caesar's civil war against the Roman Republic, and against the leaders of the Optimate. With the military victory at Munda, and the deaths of Titus Labienus and Gnaeus Pompeius (eldest son of Pompey), Caesar was politically able to return in triumph to Rome, and then govern as the elected Roman dictator.

In the wake of their defeats at Pharsalus (48 BC) and Thapsus (46 BC), the Optimates and supporters of the late Pompey the Great had been contained in Hispania (modern Spain) by Caesar. While there, Gnaeus and Sextus Pompeius worked with General Titus Labienus to raise a new army. Moving quickly, they subjugated much of Hispania Ulterior and the colonies of Italica and Corduba. Outnumbered, Caesar's generals in the region, Quintus Fabius Maximus and Quintus Pedius, elected to avoid battle and requested assistance from Rome.

Thus, Caesar was forced to move from Rome to Hispania to deal with the Pompeius brothers. He brought two trusted veteran legions (X Equestris and V Alaudae) and some newer legions (including III Gallica and VI Ferrata), but in the main was forced to rely on the recruits already present in Hispania. Caesar covered the 1,500 miles (2,400 km) from Rome to Obulco in less than one month, arriving in early December (he immediately wrote a short poem, Iter, describing this journey).

Arriving in early December, Caesar was able to surprise local Optimate forces and quickly relieved Ulipia. Pressing on to Corduba, he found that that he was not able to take the city which was guarded by troops under Sextus Pompeius. Though he outnumbered Caesar, Gnaeus was advised by Labienus to avoid a major battle and instead compelled Caesar to embark upon a winter campaign. Gnaeus' attitude began to change following the loss of Ategua. The capture of the city by Caesar badly shook the confidence of Gnaeus' native troops and some began to defect.

>MONDAY, MARCH 28th 2016

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFx-5PGLgb4

It's a beautiful day on the pier. The sun is shining, the breeze is cool and relaxing, the waves of the ocean are calm. A street band are performing, as the pier is flooded with families, lovers, tons of happy faces. All except one, and that's who you have to deal with today.

You remember back to the first time you met Kevin Omega. It was two years ago. You were a fresh faced 16 year old going to train with the wrestler you spent years glued in front of your tv set for. Watching, admiring, dreaming that someday you could be just like him. The man who ignited a passion in your heart for wrestling that still burns bright today, and will keep burning until the day you die. The first time you came face to face, Kevin refused to shake your hand, called you a runt, and told you to perform 200 sit-ups before he would speak to you again. You pushed yourself so hard you vomited twice... but at the end of the day, he had spoken to you again.
>>
For all his faults... his many, many faults... you held nothing but respect for the passion the man had for his profession. Even with all the sacrifices the man made in his quest to perfect the craft... his two divorces, his countless buried friendships... his younger brother died before his career had begun to take off... there always remained a wildfire behind the eyes of Kevin Omega every time he picked up a microphone or stepped in between the ropes. The man loved wrestling, above all else. His passion served as the kindling for the fire within your own heart. Even when the sky was falling down around him, he never stopped loving what he did.

Last night, you watched from a comfortable sofa as that fire went out. Your hero ended his career, not with a bang, but with a whimper. The childhood fantasy is beginning to feel more like a cautionary tale. If Kevin Omega's fire can burn out, who's to say yours can't either? This was a man you believed would never, ever give up, and yet today he stands before you, head hung low of the railing of the pier, as people pass by without so much as acknowledging his presence. It seems that all these years you've been nothing more than a stupid fan. You never truly knew the man at all.

"I really fucking hate this song." His gruffness and aching in his voice tell the story of a man with nothing left.

>Of course you would.
>Is that why you called me out here? To tell me you hate the Carpenters?
>Why did you bring me here? Why me of all people?

So let's say that Angels and Demons are the same sort of being, like in the abrahamic religions where demons are fallen angels (though the demons probably tell it differently).

What's a good name for the "race" of these critters that isn't biased one way or the other e.g. calling them all angels or all devils or devas or asuras or similar?

Currently leaning towards "theurges" or "devgels" but there's presumably a term for this that I'm forgetting.

This is serious wartime, it's flaccid at the moment.

I heard somewhere that we would get 4 planeswalkers in this set. Is that confirmed?

Hi /tg/. I want to make a MTG RPG.
Not an RPG based on the setting, but an RPG where you literally play the MTG card game. Probably going to use Cockatrice for it or something.
I want to evoke the same feeling of slow but satisfying progression as the old Shandalar game did, where you start off pathetic but you rapidly become stronger and eventually surpass the default player stats.
I want players to have a character and attributes which tie into how they are able to play the card game. Here's what I have so far:

Color Identity: Pick One Color
>The Colors you can use in your deck.
Life: 10
>Your starting life total.
Library: 40
>The maximum number of cards you can have in your deck.
Hand: 5
>Your starting and max hand size.
Max Mana: 4
>The maximum amount of mana you can have in your pool at any one time.
Max Permanents: 4
>The maximum amount of permanents you can have in play at any one time.

By winning duels, players will gain points which can be used to increase any of these stats, giving them things like extra starting life or even an expanded color identity if they save up. They will also gain booster packs. Etc etc.

Want to brainstorm some stuff? I'll probably be posting this in Game Finder once it's ready.
